Dr. Meshkov, an award-wining cardiologist and one of the greatest minds in cardiovascular medicine has written the best and most comprehensive book about the past, present and future of cardiology. From the early practices of Hippocrattes prescribing aspirin from willows to the revelutionary care our doctors provide in the 21st century, the book will get you through the great milestones cardiac medicine past. The first ECG device invented by William Einthoven, the first catheterization procedure performed by Werner Forssmann, Mason Sones with great research contributing on the hunt of the Widowmaker by developing new methods for CABG and angio procedures, and Andreas Grützig performing the first angioplasty procedure; all these scientists are only a handful of the many more physicians, surgeons, pharmacists, biochemists and molecular biologists whom contributed in the development of cardiac medicine. Through many successes and failure we have come a long way in our chase for the widowmaker through researches in little labs towards noble prizes.

A fantastic review of the journey to cure heart attacks, how far we have come, and how awesome medicine is. Both doctors and non doctors can get a lot out of this book. (The kidney is still cooler than the heart though.)
