Peacemakers. The Galactic Union’s most capable enforcers, they elicit fear and awe among the Union’s citizenry. At least some of them do.

As the Guild War spreads, two rival Zuul mercenary commanders find themselves not only at odds with each other, but with a duplicitous corporation with sinister intentions. After a disastrous mission where the majority of her Hellchasers company was destroyed, Renhahnu accepts a mission bankrolled by the Dream World Consortium to recover New Joy City on the planet Arduna. She knows better than to ask questions, especially with so many credits on the line, and—after learning that her rival Marrek’s company failed to hold the city against another mercenary threat—she’s all in.

Marrek and his lone surviving pack mate escaped from Arduna with a group of sick Altar colonists. But when opportunity knocks, they answer, even though it means a return to Arduna to serve as low-paid security guards. When he learns that the Hellchasers have arrived, Marrek takes matters into his own hands. Blaming Renhahnu for his troubles, he wants blood, and he’ll stop at nothing to get it.

The volatile situation on Arduna has also attracted the attention of the Peacemaker Guild, but instead of a seasoned Peacemaker or Enforcer, a Zuparti Peacemaker Candidate must conquer his natural timidity and become what the embattled citizens of New Joy City need, while discovering the awful truth about Dream World.

Under New Joy City, these three storylines will converge…and heroes will be born.

The plot thickens, well or, at least, the clues accumulate...

In the newest installment of the Rise of the Peacemakers series, we meet old friends and discover new ones!
The Hellchasers company more or less got wiped out during its latest contract and get hired by DWC (the oh so infamous dream world corporation) to help them secure a town on a disputed planet so that a senior manager can access some secret location...
To get the team up to strength, the Hellchasers need to gather some firepower, and as they dont belong to a powerful Zuul clan, they must recruit outside their race: in the end, they do a hot drop with a very mixed crew: goka, zuul, lumar, human (one, female, snarky, scottish, is reputed to speak english but it's a rumor), altar.
Meanwhile, Bukk is travelling with another altar to recover some data. He knows the data would interest the peacemakers but he doesn't trust them entirely, only Jessica Francis...
Ah and Jessica Francis sent Zetchek, a zuparti Peacemaker in making on his confirmation mission to the same planet... a planet settled by Gensha but with huge environmental problems...

And here we go, lots of action, some hidden tidbits of information and some more proof that DWC is as nefarious as we thought it to be!

Can't wait for the next installment...

another great story pushing back the edges of the map

What makes 4hu work are how the small threads of short stories get plucked and turned into their own works. favorite quote " Something had roared. The kind of megafauna roar that turns bowels to water. The kind of roar that states “I am the predator, and you are my dinner. I’m bigger and stronger that you. Please remain where you are and let’s get this over with.”".

Solid story telling!

Another chapter down in the Rise of the Peacemakers and once again it ticks all the boxes, it's less focused on humans and more on the Aliens but that doesn't detract from the story.
Geordie is great and the dialogue is spot on, even the introduction of football/soccer was funny!

Great Read!

Lots more of the onion of Dream World and the evil plans.

I’m not sure where in the crime line this story happens, seems before the previous book.

Lots of action and new details on the Zuul.

Great story

Great story, but bouncing around between characters got a little confusing. Maybe grab sticky note to help you keep them straight.
