“I’d like to have a life with you while I can. I’d like to have memories to hold when it’s difficult. I know it’s going to hurt like hell and kill me every time […]. But I don’t care. I’m going to do it anyway because I love you."

All hells breaks loose in the finale of The P.A.N. trilogy and I am stressed! The drama! The violation of privacy, ugh!

The Croc is completely different from The P.A.N. and The H.O.O.K. - I was scared that something bad is going to happen in every. single. chapter. Did I say I was stressed? Although I welcomed the stress with open arms, I may or may not have cursed a million times. All happy thoughts gone.

Deacon’s past and future was a tangled mess and his present was an unfamiliar territory. He was in constant panic and worry, both signs that he’s maturing, or trying at least. The Croc gave us the character development of the main characters and less of the courting stage we’ve read from the previous books.

There are some chapters that I felt were a little rushed and some issues that I felt should’ve been delved deeper but it didn’t stop me from enjoying this finale.

I’m going to miss Vivienne, Deacon, Emily, Peter and… no I’m not going to miss Lyle. I’m sad that this is the final book in the trilogy as I would love to explore the world more. I became too attached to this story and the characters and I’m greedy for more.

Thank you Jenny Hickman for sharing the story of Vivienne and Deacon, I’m excited to read what you’ll come up with next!

Author’s Note:
“This book has scenes depicting violence and captivity, discussion surrounding rape and suicide, and contains some sexual content. I have done my best to handle these elements sensitively, but if these issues could be considered triggering for you, please take note.”

Trigger warning in addition to the author’s note: Depression and violation of privacy

The amazing conclusion of The PAN Trilogy ... and it was just perfect 😭😭😭 Told again from both Deacon and Vivienne's perspectives, they begin navigating through life after Deacon's trial and Vivienne's impending forgetfulness while still searching for HOOK and a cure for The Forgetful. ⁣

There's a slew of (yes, more 😆) drama that unfolds and seemingly unmovable and unavoidable obstacles, but Jenny works her magic in creating a perfectly crafted, unguessable, fast-paced, action-packed, swoon-worthy plotline that will leave you on the edge of your seat and unable to put the book down once you begin.⁣

I just loved and am so thankful to have been a part of this world and the P.A.N.dom from just about the very beginning. Deacon and Vivienne's love story is one of my favorites and this Peter Pan retelling will forever hold a special place in my heart. It's just one of those stories that feels like home. ⁣

And P.S. the ending was just amazing! Thank you for this story, Jenny, and my advanced copy — I can't wait for more (of this world 🤞🏻 and the next)! The Croc is out 𝐉𝐮𝐥𝐲 14𝐭𝐡 ... tick. tock. 🐊⏰⁣

"Because of all the women I've met, you were the only one to ever run away. And instead of letting you go, I have this overwhelming desire to chase after you."

Well, this trilogy is officially over…

description

What a damn fun ride this trilogy has been, this has to be my favourite Peter Pan retelling I’ve ever read. I love Viv’s character growth throughout the entire series but let’s be honest, Deacon was the one who stole all of our attention. That damn, gorgeous lost boy.

description

Jenny has a wonderful writing style and I love her dialogue, it’s got this charming witty back and forth between the characters that you can’t help but vibe with. But aside from that, if you’ve been following this trilogy like I have, you’ll know these books come with so much drama and super happy FUN times (not sure the characters were always having fun…) that you just can’t keep up. You know what I mean? Yeah? No, no you don’t. You aren’t prepared for the absolute hell that breaks lose, nee, unleashes itself in this book. I mean Jenny, come on already! The poor gang have been through enough!! Viv’s about to forget it all, and Deacon’s been through his damn trial. Give them a break.

I can’t go into finer details because I feel like I might accidentally spoil it for people ("accidentally")….

description

What I will say, is that this book is the perfect ending for the series. I’ll miss seeing Viv and Emily’s friendship blossom and grow through the pages of each book and did I mention Deacon’s charm? I’ll miss that. I’ll miss him. Man… Deacon is perfect, sorry every other book boyfriend he might have you beat…

This series is flirty, fun and a rollicking good time.

"Because of all the women I've met, you were the only one to ever run away. And instead of letting you go, I have this overwhelming desire to chase after you."

Welcome back to my ted talk where you chat with me, president of #damesfordeacon

This book is one that is hard for me to review and not give spoilers... so I will talk less about what it's about and more about how it made me feel.

The first half was a little tough for me honestly... I craved happiness for my favorite couple and I just felt they constantly had a new hurdle to jump when they just deserved peace.
If you feel this way too, please don't give up and remember.... they are young and dumb not almost 30, like myself.

After my frustrations for their decision making ebbed, I found myself reading a story that reminded me a lot of A Walk to Remember watching a man in love do all he can to make every moment matter and memorable.

Deacon continues to win my heart over and I'm crushed that we won't be returning to Neverland again.

The CROC will navigate through all 4095 of your emotions as quickly as you do when you are PMSing.
Laughing... crying... accusing someone of cheating.... needing a hug... crying... and then ending with the realization that you are completely and utterly unreasonable and need to chill the F out and get some ice cream.

A week after finishing, I could sob again... but I still have a warm feeling of Hope.

Thank you Jenny for sharing a beautiful retelling with a twist of sci-fi and an adorable young love.
This is one I will return to over and over when I just need to feel EVERYTHING again.

Read if you like:
-character growth
-Peter Pan
- A walk to Remember
-a little science and a little fun
-bomb indie authors
- YA and good for all

What was missing for me:
-I wish I could be immersed in some of their big moments a little more. More of their vows and moments shared with one another instead of their distant stage.. that was tough on my dang heart

Rating:
Story- ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️💫
Characters-⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Genre- YA SCI-FI/R
Steam- "And scene." (Jenny slowly closes door and backs away)
ME- "WAI WAI WAIT! I wanna see what's goin on here!!!!"

Grab your tissues and a couple of your favorite comfort foods. You’re going to need them!

This book grabs you by the shirt collar and pulls you in and takes you on one of the most emotional rides I’ve ever experienced from beginning to end. Hands down, it’s my favorite book in the PAN trilogy.

As someone who’s intimately familiar with losing a family member to dementia this book was even more emotional for me. I cried a lot, walked away once to get my emotions back under control, and dove right in again and didn’t stop until I finished it. I think it’s worth mentioning this book does have some darker undertones as you go deeper into HOOK’s history and the lengths they are willing to go to ensure their goals against the PAN are met. Needless to say, it’s been a full night since I read the epilogue and I’m still not over The C.R.O.C.

Now for a little gushing about its characters. 🖤 Both Deacon and Vivienne have grown so much since I first met them in The P.A.N. I’m so lucky to have went on this Neverland journey with them, and thanks to Jenny they will always have a special place in my heart. Now I can’t wait to own all three physical copies of these books so I can binge read the trilogy all over again!

This one…
The last one… of an unforgettable series.
An unforgettable journey with Vivienne, Deacon, and the PAN. Happy tears that I read it, sad tears that it’s over. While this adventure was the heaviest of all three books, it was necessary. We wouldn’t have reached the destination without the trials and tribulations that Vivienne and Deacon undergo. The struggle these two endure to hold onto their happy thoughts and protect their relationship is a fight that I would have gladly fought for them.

The stakes were far higher in The CROC than stupid mermaids and Deacon’s salacious past. Vivienne’s memory is steadily declining and the height of the threat of HOOK is at its crest. If you thought the first two were emotional rollercoasters then buckle in, push down on your lap bars, and pull down those shoulder restraints. Not in a bad way, of course. Just have tissues at the ready… and someone there to give you a hug (I reached out to Jenny when I got done and asked her to hold me for awhile).

“𝐓𝐞𝐥𝐥𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐡𝐢𝐦 𝐧𝐨𝐭 𝐭𝐨 𝐰𝐨𝐫𝐫𝐲 𝐰𝐚𝐬 𝐥𝐢𝐤𝐞 𝐭𝐞𝐥𝐥𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐫𝐚𝐢𝐧 𝐭𝐨 𝐬𝐭𝐨𝐩 𝐟𝐚𝐥𝐥𝐢𝐧𝐠.”

𝙲𝚞𝚎: 𝙽𝚎𝚟𝚎𝚛 𝙵𝚘𝚛𝚐𝚎𝚝 𝚈𝚘𝚞 𝚋𝚢 𝚉𝚊𝚛𝚊 𝙻𝚊𝚛𝚛𝚜𝚘𝚗

But, after all of the hardships and emotions, this story is still one of the most magical. Consider my heart swooned and stolen. And the Romance? We’re turning the heat up in this one and it sparks, sizzles, and leaves you flying high. Deacon is still as charming as ever, if not more for reasons you will find out. Vivienne is still the brightest star to the right with a will of iron. And Peter? I’ll never be done with Peter. I lived for the relief his moments brought to the story. Plus, he’s irresistible with his posh accent and ability to command a room. His HEA is one I would gladly beg for. Seriously… My window is open and I already have a night flying outfit picked out.

I loved this book. I love this series. The writing, world-building, and character development? Outright brilliance. If you loved The PAN and The HOOK then you will fall head over heels for The CROC. For fans of Romantasy, Peter Pan, Sci-Fi, and those looking for a bit of a thrill.

It’s official. I will never leave Kensington Academy. Jenny, I am staying.
Leaving my heart in Neverland.

I am floating above the clouds in a five starry midnight sky after having finished The CROC, the third and final book in Jenny Hickman's The P.A.N. Trilogy! I am hurting from happiness at this conclusion to one of my favorite trilogies of all time because it ended in the best scenario. I'm hopeful you'll heed my advice and take a chance on Deacon and Vivienne!♡

**Note: This review contains spoilers as it is the third book in a series. Do not read further if you do not wish to be spoiled.

The amount of tears I shed throughout the span of this trilogy could fill a small pond. In The Croc, Deacon and Vivienne have to overcome an impending obstacle: dealing with Vivienne's rapid descent into memory loss that comes with a lethal side effect where she goes utterly berserk after 4pm and can hurt those around her.

Deacon Ashford is holding on by an extremely strong thread to the fact that he loves Vivienne and he will stay by her regardless but as a highly empathetic human being, putting myself in his shoes I know would be a difficult feat. Being loved that much by another person who would give up mortality to be with me makes me melt into a puddle of tears on the floor.

Thanks to Jesper's allegiance to The P.A.N., a cure has been found for P.A.N. who have high levels of ngH (nevergene hormone) that causes them to lose their memory so Deacon but Vivienne can't take it or else she will hurt the life that's growing inside her...***SQUEALING*** yes, there's going to be a mini Deacon Elias Ashford running around!! A lot can happen in 9 months and The H.O.O.K. (The Humanitarian Organization of Order) kidnaps Vivienne during one of her worst memory loss episodes. I must tell you that I could not take a full breath during the last half of this book but you'll have to read it to find out exactly what happens.

Jenny Hickman did an incredible job delicately writing about memory loss. My heart didn't know it desperately needed to read The P.A.N. Trilogy but I'm happy I found it. I am consumed by Neverland and the richly crafter characters who will hold a special place in my heart for years to come!♡

Thank you to Jenny Hickman and Midnight Tide Publishing for sending me a digital review copy in exchange for an honest review.

SO MANY EMOTIONS!

This book is the definition of "Can't put the book down".
There is no bedtime when you are reading a Jenny Hickman book.
All responsibilities are gone when you are reading a Jenny Hickman book!
Also, all carbs that have been eaten while stress eating, don't count when reading a Jenny Hickman book haha!

That's it! The PAN Trilogy is done, and I genuinely don't want to go back into the real world haha! The characters have grown so much throughout this series that, while reading this book, I felt like I was visiting old friends.
Deacon and Vivienne have a lot of challenges to face in this book but together they can handle anything!
There a lot of triggers in this book, which Jenny includes at the start! (Thank you for that Jenny!)
Jenny writes these sensitive topics with so much care and empathy that I have to applaud her!

This book is the perfect ending to The PAN Trilogy, however, Jenny, if you are reading this I wouldn't mind a bonus epilogue! I NEED MORE haha!

This book is fun, flirty and full of drama.
It can't be read as a standalone.

Thank you Jenny Hickman for providing me with this e-arc in exchange for an honest review.

I'm not sure why, but I'm crying. So so so good.

In The PAN, we got romance and wonder. In The HOOK, we got frustrations and steam. The CROC, though. The CROC is full of fear and desperate hope and so much love.

I hate ending a series. I get fictional character depression, or, even worse, disappointment. It's the worst, that uncertainty, but Jenny Hickman delivers one of the most satisfying series wrap-ups I've ever read in The CROC. It's perfect!

As Vivienne battles Forgetfulness, the readers are taken on a disorienting and heartbreaking journey. There's still plenty of Lost Boy steam, and H.O.O.K isn't done being awful, but the emotional depth really steals the show. I am forever grateful to the friends whose recommendations led me to this trilogy. My heart!

I'm thinking and feeling things.... maybe when I can form thoughts I'll be back for a more thorough review...

I just LOVE this story. Jenny's brain child is genius!! I know I'm supposed to be happy after having finished this story, but honestly I'm still just stressed. Jenny had me on the edge of my seat for the entire ride. There is still so much I'd love to explore in this world and with these characters. For me the story felt a little rushed, but the reasoning also makes sense to me. First, I couldn't stop. I just plowed through because I HAD to know what was going to happen. Second, based on circumstances, as a reader you are kind of in the dark for a good chunk of this story and oh boy did that toy with my heart. It left me guessing about what was going on and that only fueled my nerves more!

Bottom line Deacon and Vivienne will also be an OTP for me. The two of them are amazing and I just love the character growth I saw throughout the trilogy for both of them. When someone mentions they are looking for a retelling, this will be my go-to recommendation. And if you are huge Peter Pan fan, then this is a MUST read for you!

Thank you so much Jenny for this entire series and your kindness in sharing an eARC with me. I cannot wait to see what you write next, but I'm still going to beg for more in this incredible world!

I enjoyed The PAN and loved The HOOK, but The CROC wasn't for me. It feels like the author decided what was needed for the characters to have a happy ending, and made sure we ended up there, but then intentionally wrenched our hearts time after time along the way. Anything that could go wrong, did. Everything I found myself rooting for, to go Vivienne and Dash's way, led to heartbreak. And then something I hadn't even thought of because it was too horrible, that happened, too. I'm glad they got their happy ending, but I need a palate cleanser after this, and that's a far cry from the writing in The HOOK.

Oh my heart.

How am I to let go of Vivienne, Deacon, Neverland, and did I mention Deacon? Plus... how am I to let go of Deacon?

This was such a deep, dark (good-dark), and at times despairing finale in The PAN trilogy. I am okay with that-in fact, as an advocate of angst and happy endings (not happy middles)-I routinely encourage it. So I willingly sank without restraint into this heartbreaking, confronting, and ultimately uplifting (literally because, you know, PANs can fly) venture into Vivienne's ever after. Jenny handled the complexities of memory loss brilliantly and sensitively, not only for the subject in question, but for the loved ones affected by it.

I generally adore series, because it's a chance to take the story further and observe how the characters grow and change (like real-life humans instead of cardboard cutouts). When the characters plateau emotionally across books, the magic is lost and an opportunity slips away, but that certainly hasn't happened here. We know and feel so much more about Vivienne, Deacon, and their friends and foes than we did at the start of this series, and to have ended the story with The PAN (as much as I enjoyed it) would have robbed us of this chance to see Vivienne's dark before the dawn. Her triumphs feel earned now through her character growth.

Thank you, Jenny Hickman! I am now (im)patiently awaiting your next wonderful story.

First off I just want to say that I absolutely love this series. The way the author has created such a unique spin on Peter Pan is extremely creative, and this entire story and these characters are all so amazing!

This conclusion to The Pan Trilogy allows you to understand more about their world and the people in it. You can follow Deacon and Vivianne as they continue their journey battling the obstacles life throws at them. This book has left me in a mix of emotions both happy and sad.

The beautiful conclusion to a beautiful series. I cannot wait for the world to be able to read this book, this is definitely one of my favorite series’.

"I wanted to love you forever," he said with a laugh, touching his forehead against hers, "but I'll settle for one lifetime."

It's o-v-e-r!

It's always bittersweet when a trilogy comes to an end but I am PLEASED with the final book in the PAN trilogy. Even though I already totally and completely miss Neverland's resident bad boy, Deacon Elias Ashford. Clap it up for Jenny Hickman! She will make you feel ALL the emotions: fear, anger, jealously, betrayal. You probably will be chanting, "please be okay, please be okay, please be okay". Don't worry reader, Jenny writes kissing books and HEA's. You'll swoon. You'll cry. You might even squeal. #DamesForDeacon. Any last words? .... tick tock. And I love you, Casanova. Pick up this fantastically magical Young Adult trilogy!

Thank you to the lovely Jenny Hickman for my gorgeous advanced copy!

"Even if he had to move to Scotland and introduce himself every single day for the rest of his life, make her fall in love with him again and again, he would do it. Vivenne was his purpose, his love, his life. Vivenne was his wife"

The Pan series comes to an end with The Croc which tugs at all your heart strings, plays with your emotions and makes you fall in love with the characters all over again. It is definitely an emotional ride because Deacon and Vivenne are tested every step of the way through out the story, It is completely character driven and can be frustrating at times to sit and be an audience when your favorite couple struggle to find their footing in their new rocky world. Deacon is no longer just a flippant lost boy with no care for the world and Vivenne's world is ruthless turned upside down, with her memory loss being an impending doom and Deacon desperately holding on to the hope by threads, their relationship is of course strained thus allowing the character growth as they learn from their mistakes the hard way.

The Croc reminded of 50 first dates but on a serious note, what I loved the most is how Jenny showed the other raw side of a terrible illness like Dementia, the struggles, the set backs and the complexities of being with someone who is struggling.I empathized for Deacon when he felt utterly helpless, I loved his character growth specifically because he has a beautiful arc from the beginning to the end.I felt like parts of the plot are quite rushed, I would have loved to see the last part of the story navigating slowly to reach that emotional climax. Overall I quite enjoyed the book and of course loved the series as a whole!

I'm really sad that this trilogy is over.
This crazy amazing roller-coaster of actions and adventure has so many unbelievable fascinating characters, I would love to read about all of them.

The 3rd book was a whirlwind of unpredictable events and dramatic developments.
This must read page-turner gives you no choice but to read it in one go.
Thank goodness I work from home today, because after an almost sleepless night and constantly thinking about the story, I would probably be fired.

What a book, what an exceptional and spectacular story.
I love this story ❤
I wasn't always impressed about Vivienne's behavior and sometimes I wanted to whack Deacon over the head with something, but when we think about it, that's the allure of the story.
To be forever young and forever childish is a Peter Pan life story, so naturally all PAN's have this immortal needs.

This exciting, action-packed, fast-paced and gripping story is unbelievable addictive.
I'm feeling like I've been living in their world and found friends and don't want to go back to my own world.

I really recommend to all fantasy romance fans to read this trilogy.
You'll love it as much as I did ❤

This entire series has stolen my heart. After finishing this last book, I'm really hoping Hickman will keep writing stories in this world. (Because I NEED MORE!)

Okay, moving on to The CROC in particular. I can't tell you each book gets better, because they're all equally amazing, but this book definitely stole my heart. If you're a big softy, like me, get your tissues ready because this book brought out my waterworks (though I wouldn't change a second of it).

The growth of each character, especially Viv and Deacon was incredible. The ending was oh so satisfying. And the complexity of the plot kept me guessing.

The way Hickman handled the struggle of memory loss, both for the individual and their loved ones, was compassionate and respectful.

I feel like Oprah and bread, because I. Love. This. Story.

This entire series is by far one of the most unique, inventive, imaginative, compelling and entertaining series I've read. If you love Jennifer L. Armentrout, you will adore Jenny Hickman.

P.S. Thank you for this book Jenny. It was everything I hoped for and more.

4.5⭐️! I really enjoyed the last book in this trilogy. I was at the edge of my seat for that ending and loved the creep factor that was in this one. The multiple POVs added so much to the story. I was feeling all the feels throughout the book. I feel sad that Viviennes story is over but also very satisfied with that ending. I’m still marinating on everything but all in all I really enjoyed this trilogy and would definitely recommend for anyone that loves a teen romance with some science fiction/fantasy thrown in.

I loved this conclusion to the P.A.N series. It got deeper and started to pull on my heart strings. I found the connection between Alzheimer’s/Dementia and the nevergene something that really pulled Vivienne and Dash together.

The same magical moments happened of course but this book was truly a fitting end as it felt like you watched them grow together and have their happily ever after.

I cannot wait to see what the author comes up with next!

I was going to riot if Deacon actually died. I needed to start my review with that.

I think Aiobheann is a jealous bitch, I felt so bad for Vivienne when she kept receiving videos and photos, but I think I felt worse for Deacon when he realized Nicola was the one who took the photos of him with all his exploited women. Orders or not, she should’ve told him she was on orders, I bet it would’ve helped keep deacon at least a toe in line more than he was.

I love that they had a little girl. I love that Lee married Deacon’s Mum. I love how Peter decided to cast his vote ab letting the world know that PAN exist.. by flying off a news set. Talk ab making an impression.

I’m glad Jasper finally came to his true senses, but it’s unfortunate he finally made a decision when he found Steve dead :( I wonder what happened to Lawrence and Dr Hooke after the police discovered the hidden headquarters of HOOK.

I knew Emily and Lyle would end up together. Weird how there was no story of Max. I’m glad Deacon and Vivienne got married.

“My name is Deacon Elias Ashford.” OH YES IT IS, you dark haired, green eyed, hot British mouthed man.

I fell even more in love with Deacon this boom, bc he stuck through Vivienne’s forgetful episodes when she physically attacked him, and had no idea the next morning.

Bittersweet they neutralized together, but the epilogue gave everyone a happy thought that they would fix the HOOKs poison.

I do wish they explained the CROC better, I get it went with the whole Peter Pan/Capt Hook storyline, so I think the CROC was the PANs breakthrough in making an antidote/vaccine towards the HOOK poison?

I hope Alex found happiness, I did feel bad for how much he loved Vivienne, but Deacon is bae.

"I hate to tell you this, lovie," Deacon said, layering the eggplant into the baking dish, "but that whole 'if you love someone, let them go' mantra is a crock of shite." He picked up a dishtowel from the counter and cleaned his hands. "If you love someone, you fight for them." That was great when there was an enemy to fight against. But what about when the fight was invisible? When the enemy was invincible?"

This is the first series/trilogy I picked up when I decided to get back into reading again after stumbling upon it randomly on Instagram. And I am beyond glad I did. The CROC was a great way to close it out, even though I wish it never had to end! This book (just like the previous two) had me gripped the whole way, wanting to know what would happen to these characters next. I was sad when I reached the Epilogue because I wasn't ready to say goodbye to Vivienne, Deacon, and the other incredible characters I've grown so fond of. I'm obsessed with not only the story, but also the author's writing. If Jenny Hickman decided to write a fourth book and continue this adventure, I certainly would not be upset! :)

This series finished with a beautiful ending. My heart broke throughout the book for the situations that both Deacon and Vivienne experienced. There were a few times, I would have liked to punched some of the other characters. How dare they.

I loved seeing Deacon's growth throughout the whole series. It was hard to read at times but sometimes you need the character to figure that out themselves. And when they figure it out, you cheer for them.

Jenny wrote Vivienne so well during her episodes, that even I was like "what is going on, who are these people." I felt her pain and confusion.

I loved getting more details from the side characters and more of their stories.

Loved Jenny's twist on Peter Pan.

An excellent close to a wonderful story! I LOVED this series, and the ending was amazing! I cried like a big baby, and my heart broke, but I thoroughly enjoyed the ride! Jenny Hickman did a beautiful job dealing with some hard subjects and wrapped this trilogy up with the most beautiful bow! I definitely recommend this book!
