Teenage Wasteland
Draco never thought he'd end up as the sole guardian of a troubled teenage girl. Harry never thought he'd end up a werewolf. Being twenty-two is hard.

Teenage Wasteland: ★ ★ ★ ★
GallaPlacidia
Tropes:
– Draco/Harry fanfiction
– Single guardian
– Werewolf Harry
When Draco is released from Azkaban, he falls under the responsibility of one extremely unsavory individual and has no way out. He’s not alone, though he is stuck with a young girl named Adelaide who faces a very similar consequence as he does.
I’ve read a lot of books by this author and I’m starting to realize that the stories and the romance is not linear. Which is completely fine and I really appreciate it. Sometimes it doesn’t entirely work out for me or it confuses me but in this one it did.
Draco is a guardian and potioneer who makes Harry’s werewolf medication every week. They just can’t stop themselves from falling into bed with one another, even during the times when they don’t like each other. But Draco has an obligation to Adelaide and it’s difficult for him to want anything for himself.
I had literal pains of hurt in my heart for Draco throughout this book because he goes through so much and Adelaide—even though she is quite a broken character herself—is unbelievably rude to him sometimes, and the man is literally just doing his best. It’s just so hard to see him being treated that way by this girl that he has given everything up to take care of and then on top of that… Harry too.
Yes, unfortunately Harry, a werewolf, is a Major Dick in this for about half of it but then he yearns like no tomorrow. There’s also a misunderstanding that pretty much carries through half of this book as well and drove me crazy because of the absolutely needless complications but the pining and the yearning really made up for it.
I’m not entirely sure I liked Adelaide, but she did have her good moments and I am just happy that Draco finally feels confident in the love that he has from people around him. The way that the three of them gradually became a family was lovely, even though I hated that the two of them kept themselves apart for so long just for her sake.
Anyway, this review became a lot longer than I was intending it to be so off I go to read another fic!

Holy cats, she’s good.
Despite needless complications,
just gorgeous yearning.

It was ok, I guess. Defenetly not my favorite by Gallaplacidia but a solide one.
Things I liked
- that Harry was just a cuddly dog when he was a werwolf
-that Harry and Draco just fit together the first time they had sex
-that Harry gave Draco a chocolate frog when he was in Askaban. (Because Lupin gave him chocolate after the dementors.)
-that Draco made portions for Adelaide
-that Harry loved both Draco and Adelaide
-that Draco discovered religion
-that Adelaide dyed her hair Malfoy-blonde
4 stars

Read
January 29, 2026In this book, read by the author, Draco is a victim of domestic abuse. There is so much misunderstanding and miscommunication at first that it drives you nuts, but luckily it doesn't last too long. Draco becomes a guilt ridden martyr raising a teenage Adelaide only a few years younger than himself, and Harry ends up getting over his perceived betray and falling in love with them both, and they become a family. Draco finds religion.
Draco isn't that Draco like here.

I just love the way GallaPlacidia charactorizes Draco and the way she writes her characters. If you haven't already, make sure to listen to her podcast where she reads her fics as well as gives some insight into how she writes them! its super interesting
