This book review will be for The Darke King by Jessica White. This is book one of her Broken Immortals series, and it starts the series off nicely! In book one, we follow Daniel who is a nobleman on earth. He watches his mother get killed and nearly killed himself, but is saved by the mysterious Rosemary. He is then transported to this mysterious world after hearing Rosemary cry out for help. He is then welcomed into Rosemary's family and is considered a son by her father Nathaniel. Rosemary is sadly attacked on Earth and brought back to her world where she soon discovers a shocking thing about herself. Daniel and Rosemary fall in love. Daniel finds out about his past lives and finds out he was a king of another realm and sets out to take it back, with Rosemary by his side. There's a catch, there's a mysterious man from Rosemary's past that he truly has to keep an eye on! This book was absolutely amazing! I loved Daniel and Rosemary's blossoming love, I love the dynamic between Daniel and Rosemary's father and brothers, and the action was exciting! Overall, this book is a great beginning to what is certain to be an amazing series!!!! ❤

I did enjoy this first book in what looks like an overall story arc. The characters were somewhat one-sided though, with the insta-connect vibe they had going on a couple times throughout the book. The world-building was enough enjoy good bits.

Due to poor scene transition, I was often left confused about what was happened or where characters were at. Numerous times, I had to reread a passage because of this to figure out what had happened. Occasional typos may be due to ARC edition; other than than good story

It took me a good minute to get into this book. I kept picking it up and putting it back down to start something else, but I take full responsibility for my attention span(or lack thereof). With determination to finish the story, I finally decided I would focus on it before I moved on rather then continuously putting it off, and I’m happy I did.

There were parts of this that were a little difficult to follow, but all in all the story was intriguing and engaging, and I’ll be interested to see what’s next for Daniel and Rosemary!

This book holds fated mates destined to find each other again in this new life they live.

Though the story was confusing at times in the beginning, the end clears many things up as they learn more about the past they forgot.

Daniel dreams of Rosemary his soulmate as he gets transported into her world. where he does everything for her, to prove his love, even things she doesn't think he should be doing.

But he is the darkness to her light. they balance this life they hold and the kingdom they rule. A beautiful story of how they fight against the things that plague them. it truly shows how the soulmates hold a love for each other that many dont understand.

While this is not what I thought it was going to be, I did like this story. There was some darkness that followed from the past into the present. You have lovers from the past finding each other in the present and waiting to unite their family. The love they had for each other is the type of love each of us can only hope to find! Great start to the series and I cannot wait to read the next book. I am voluntarily leaving a review.

3.5 stars. Daniel Darke's story is a past-lives mish-mash of magic and love. It is often hard to follow but I soldiered on, ignoring any bits that seemed confusing. I had read a book featuring Haldir and so I was familiar with one character, though I believe that one comes after this one. I am intrigued enough to read more, as this one ends rather abruptly.

A wonderful tale of darkness and magic about a pair of lovers torn apart and separated by a millenia and different worlds. A love so strong that it brought them back together to try to right the wrongs of the past. Beautifully written and captivating. I was spellbound until the last page.

Ok, it took a minute but once i kept reading, this story really took off. Daniel was magicked to the Realm because of a mysterious woman asked for help. Rosemary was Daniels mate and lost to him. The dangers, complications and confusing feelings and powers Daniel faced lead him to his true love, Rosemary. .
