The sole survivors of a secret genetic experiment. A woman with too many ghosts. A shared goal.

Louisa Lewis, the Tert who lives like a Prime, has always been bound by tragic circumstances. So, when life finally gives her a chance at true freedom and steadfast independence, she grasps it with both hands.

But her brief taste of better ends when she finds herself captive to four lunatics.

One wants to cow her into submission, confident his unflinching stare will do the trick.

One seems more than happy to ignore her altogether, keeping their interactions brief and bland.

The third’s the only one trying to make her captivity bearable and even somewhat comfortable.

While the fourth… well, the fourth simply wants to hurt her. Or worse.

But she hasn’t survived unspeakable horrors to trade one cage for another.

Fighting when the odds are always stacked is no fun. Just as Louisa is ready to recognize this as fact, the aliens experience a sudden change of heart and release her.

She doesn’t like it—that they dared to discard her as they did with her wishes and opinions. In fact, they should be punished.

That they disappeared into the vastness of space is no deterrent. She will even the score, even if she must chase them to the ends of the universe.

Publisher’s note: “Sentry” is the second book in the Delta Sydra Storm series. It’s a stand-alone Dark Alien Romance, complete with HEA. Please note: mature content, dark themes, graphic violence, and strong language can be found within. May contain triggers. If such material offends you, please don’t read.

Rhea has once swooped down on a winged sea serpent and defeated a giant with one clean stroke of her mighty sword. She has scaled spires as tall as mountains and skipped across roofs at breakneck speeds. She has traveled to another galaxy inside a soap bubble and ate fluffy marshmallows with a bunch of aliens.

She has...

No, not really.

But she is (and always be) a storyteller. Because whenever she feels lost, stories are what she needs to bounce back. To that end, she finally committed to putting her mind’s designs to paper. And with each story, she reclaims a little more of her real self.

Rhea also likes lists, cats, and coffee. She abhors lies, tardiness, and steadfast seriousness.

The writing and editing of the ARC version of the manuscript was a little rough, with plentiful typos. Hopefully that will be fixed in the retail version. The world building was vibrant, with the different races of the Delta Sydra being much better described in this second novel. I also liked the fact that this second novel took place mostly in space instead of on Earth. The characterization was good, and the heroes being three separate people in one body was a creative twist. The heroine was nuanced and deeply sympathetic. The development of the romantic relationship was a very slow burn. The heat level of this novel was two chili peppers. The plot was tight and exciting and the pacing was quite quick and absorbing as a consequence. This novel contained medium amounts of well justified angst and high stakes throughout, which tends to be one of my preferred narrative structures for a romance novel. This novel used the Kidnapped Bride trope, the Fated Mates trope, the Forced Proximity trope, and the Enemies to Lovers trope. The world building was three stars. The plot and pacing were five stars. The characterization and development of the romantic relationship were both four stars. I therefore gave this novel a combined rating of four stars. This novel ended on a Happy Ever After ending instead of a cliffhanger ending, so that was a big plus. I recommend this novel to readers who enjoy sci-fi romance with plenty of danger and adventure, with a distinct space opera feel. I look forward to reading the next book in this series when it releases. I will probably buy myself a keeper copy of this novel.

Holy cow! I didn’t see that coming. When you think you are dealing with alien quadruplets and a captive human heroine, the whole concept is shrewdly turned on its head.

Louisa’s father sold her into prostitution so being kidnapped and caged by huge aliens with four sets of arms, claws for hands, a tail, and fangs, is just par for the course. As she becomes acquainted with her brooding and unusual captors called Kessars, her fear becomes anger as they refuse to give her a reason why she has been taken. When she slowly discovers she is caged for her own protection from one of them, the realization of what they are is mind-blowing.

As Louisa is drugged, caged, and threatened, her first instinct is to escape and save herself, but her curiosity about the mysterious aliens changes to attraction and the unexpected need to save them from the parasite that is a part of their lives. But when they leave her and go off on a suicide mission, she joins forces with their brother, Altane, and risks her life to save the brothers she now sees as her new family.

Louisa is a force to be reckoned with. She’s used to pain and humiliation. She thinks she’s a coward for not getting out of the life she was sold into, but she is a survivor. And she has her adopted family of women who support and believe in her as well as the Kessars who saved her from themselves. She braves the foreign elements as a puny human in a war-torn galaxy. Talk about crazy and gutsy! She’s my kind of heroine!

I love this action-packed sci-fi romance that will captivate you, anger you, and surprise you. The characters are extremely unusual and fascinating, and the dangerous journey to save her planet is thrilling.

Thank you to Ms. May and Booksprout for giving me the opportunity to read this book with no expectation of a positive review.

Phew, What A Ride!
This was pretty full on and I need to read the first book now. It was quite moving at times but felt somewhat relieved at the end. It tells the story of Louisa. A dramatic start to her story that you learn more about during this read. She wakes in a cage, supposedly taken by 4 aliens. But in one body. It is complicated and you learn more as she discovers how they came to be. But she discovers she is their mate but one of the 4 is not so nice and wants to kill her. It is gut wrenching at times but Louisa is strong and persists in getting her mates free of the 4th. With help as she travels with her friends mate to find protection for her earth. There is a lot to this tale but it is needed in many respects. It leaves you knowing there will be so much more in the next book.

This was so exciting. There was so much action going on. I was totally engrossed in this story. Louisa is in the bunker underground and she thinks that she's finally free. Then she see an alien just looking at her. When she leave and gets into the elevator she's grabbed by said alien. When she wakes again she's in a cage. Who are these aliens that have taken her? What do they want? There seems to be 4 different entities, there is Toren, Kallar, Elaan and the wicked Vansir. She happens to be the beloved (Kessa). I just know that I'm so glad that I read this story. What I still am trying to understand if they are on person with three personalities. That was the biggest twist to understand. I love the characters and the interaction that they have with each other. Watching them to evolve in their relationship was intriguing. First book I've read from this story. I am so glad that this ended on a HEA. I already bought this book for my library. I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.

Slow start... but not for long.
It took a while to get into this book as I found it a bit unclear at the start. It got so much better as the story progressed and turned into a really good story. I'm looking forward to Book 3.
The Kessars are a bit different go the usual aliens encountered and though drugged and caged by the brothers Louisa realises she cares about them. When they leave her behind for her own safety she has only one thing to do....

I loved the storyline as it progressed from the previous story. The action began towards where the story was beginning to wind down and takes the story to the next level with Louisa and Toren, Kallar, Elaan and the wicked Vansir. Great characters and worldbuilding, full of action and adventure. A must read!
