He said No! For the first time ever, Cal denied me. It was the most important request of my life and he flat out rejected me. Where do we … I go from here? Nothing makes sense anymore. I thought I was moving forward, but maybe I should have just stuck with my safe little world.
This trilogy is definitely one that made me laugh, cry and feel all the feels.
I loved getting to see who Gigi is and everything that happened to her to make her who she is. I love that we get to see Cal fight for her and see how he is her perfect other half.
I love that we see that people can go through horrendous situations but that they can have such resilience.
This trilogy is hard to read because it does have some hard topics such as child abuse, rape, drug use, murder etc. but it is never detailed or gory.
It is handled well and makes you feel so much empathy towards so many characters.
Life is hard no matter the journey. But finding those that love you through it all can make the difference.
Gigi has learned she is not alone, but she needs to learn how to be loved, and how to trust. I have loved this series. As with Liz's story, the first book took time for me to feel it, but this family just grows and absorbs more great people into it. And many of these people are wonderful characters who even from the sidelines add a special je ne sais quois to the whole thing. Lovely ending, sad it's over I was so enthralled that pedantic me just sailed over the few errors, rapt as I was.
