My Rating:

4.5

Favorite Quotes:

“You’d be expected to pull your weight in my house too, you cheeky bugger. If all you’re offering a girl is your dirty underwear and life at the kitchen sink, you’re going to be single for a very long time, mate.”

“Thanks for the pizza… Was alright for a first attempt. Just a shame the fire brigade didn’t have to come out. I quite like a man in uniform.”

“She does that feat where she pulls her bra off through her dress and out of an armpit. It’s some feat of magic that’s done really quickly and I can’t totally follow it. All I know is that her tits go with it. The heavily padded bra lies on the floor, discarded among her other mess. I stare at her dress. There’s nothing under it… I have nothing against small perky tits if I’m expecting them, but my hands. There were ready to cop hold of those gorgeous bazumas.”

“Don’t know half the time son. Best thing with women is to keep nodding at them in agreement. If their face changes and goes weird, try a disagreeing look. Works for me ninety percent of the time.”

My Review:

Snow Balls has a highly entertaining premise of a spoiled, video game playing, and lazy mamma’s boy who still lived with his parents, being presented with his eviction notice on his 25th birthday. Tyler was incredulous when it occurred, despite having a long-standing deadline and repeated warnings the boot was coming. Even with a three-month reprieve and a generous monetary gift from his parents to get him started, Tyler immediately plots and schemes to undermine and manipulate his parents into allowing him to remain a firmly implanted and entrenched leech. However, mom is prepared and has schemes of her own. I was richly amused by this short and humorous tale and enjoyed witnessing the slow peeling of the onion, eventual dawn of awareness, and positive changes in Tyler as his budding independence gradually took hold while he mastered adulting. I can’t help but wonder if this scheme could actually work on some grossly immature relatives of my own.

Snowballs is Tyler Turner’s story, we met him in Balls when he was given his eviction notice on his birthday which was also Christmas Day. This book is the making of Tyler Turner he has been spoilt rotten by his over caring mother but she knows the error of her ways and Dora is determined to make Tyler able to look after himself with some hilarious results.
After reading the excerpt of this book at the end of Balls I knew I would love Tyler's story and it didn't disappoint I spent a lovely afternoon with the Turner family loving every word.
What I really like about this set of novellas is they are real life, these characters are like you and me. Tyler’s not an alpha male or ripped he doesn't have that sexy ‘V’ that every girl dreams of because he is a real British guy he spends his spare time gaming like ‘real’ men do !! I'm all for a little escapism but The Turner family are real it's like coming home and I can't wait for Dora’s story. Andie Long you are the dogs balls !!!!

*Reviewed on behalf of Amo's Book Corner.***

I really liked this book, it was funny, refreshing and has given me a tip for my own sons lol!!

Tyler is 25 years old and for christmas/birthday his parents give him £1000 to either put in a savings fund or as a down payment for a mortgage and goes on to present him with an eviction notice of 3 months to find his own place and learn to stand on his own two feet. Tyler's mom has had enough of being his servant and picking up after him, so this is the way it has to be!
But Tyler plays his mum at her own game. He does everything she tells him to including cooking meals, and he's exhausted....so he decides to extend his hours at work and go full time and hopes that his mom will go easy on him...but real life doesn't work that way. Tyler has a lot to learn in the ways of the ways of the world, including women!

This book is well worth a read. This is book 2 and told from 1st person POV. This is a short comedy novella, so you can fit this in when you've got a spare hour to kill. If you've got adult sons then you'll definitely sympathise with his mom.

Snow Balls by Andie M Long a fantabulous five-star read, this is the second book in the Ball games series, I loved the first book in the series Balls as it was so funny, but this book kicks it in the balls its even funnier. We met Tyler Turner in the first book, he was the spoilt brother of Camille, still living at home at 24 and being waited on hand and foot, that is until he gets a dear John letter from his parents giving him notice of eviction in 3 months. On his 25th birthday of all days. They even give him a cheque for £1000 to help with fees and such, and he sets about trying to figure a way to stay at home after his 3 months are up, even making bets with his sister Camille and his work buddy Lindsey who he has known 9 years since they both left school and started working at Smiths as sales assistances, Tyler stars to grow up and even gets a date with the woman of his dreams Jennifer Lambert when he goes to see her to arrange a mortgage. Will he eventually start to grow up, and see what’s under his nose? Or will he and his game equipment live in his childhood bedroom forever?

Snowball is book 2 in the (ball games) series.
This book belongs to Tyler Turner.
We first meet Tyler in Balls. Brother to Camille and son to Tim and Dora.
It's Tyler's birthday which also happens to be Christmas Day. Tyler receives cards for his birthday. He receives an envelope with a letter and a cheque from his parents.Tyler's ecstatic at first. Planning already what to do with the money. Thats until he reads the letter also addressed to him from his parents. He's reached 25 now and needs to learn to stand on his own two feet. Tyler's giving his eviction notice. He has three months and enough payment to cover his first months rent. He must look for his own place.

'Your chucking me out? That's my birthday present?'

I really enjoyed this novella. Writing in Tyler's POV.
Tyler was so funny and what you would expect from a 25 year old lazy/spoilt lad. What I didn't expect was to watch Tyler grow in to a man before my very eyes. The banter between his mum was very funny to read. I actually love Tyler's mum a lot! Dora's really determined to make her son realise the mistakes she made by doing everything for him. The way she gets her point across to Tyler is hilarious. I couldn't stop laughing.
Tyler's not your typical guy. He's funny, lazy and immature. He acts how most 25 year old single guys living at home would. It's Not something you read everyday and it was refreshing. Andie M Long made me laugh so hard. I can't wait to read Dora's book. Whatever happens next in this seriously funny series. I know whatever it'll be. It's going to be a barrel of laughs.

Part two of Andrea Longs "Balls" series. This time from the eyes of Tyler Camille's 25 yr old brother. Still living at home Tyler is happy with his lot, still at home, doing nothing working part time. Why would he want to move out, he's got it easy.
This is another fast pace, hilarious quick read by Andrea Long. This book made me laugh even more then book one. Having been told to move out by his parents in a birthday letter, Tyler is indignant at having to move out and become a man comes over in the book so strong. Tyler's battle with the vacuum had me in stitches, its description is so good that it makes me wonder if Andrea has actually sat and watch some poor brother do exactly what she described. The lengths Tyler goes to get a date so he doesn't have to live on his own, the "date" with Jennifer from the bank will make you snort and laugh so much. Its a read to believe but you can believe it happening with this family.
I really loved this book. Again its fast paced, funny and will have you laughing out loud. A great follow on from "Balls". I love Dora, Tyler's and Camille mother. She comes across as strong but dippy in the book. You can feel her fight not to help Tyler. Tyler is Dora's baby, even at 25! The pizza scene is one I've witnessed my self with my teenage son, and yes I had the same battle as Dora not to stop in and stop a crash about to happen. Can wait to read Dora's story in book three.
Well done Andrea for a great series so far, this book is short like "balls" but doesn't lack at all and makes up with the funny moments and great pace.

*****Kim's Review!*****

I received an ARC for my honest review.

In Balls we met Camille's older brother Tyler, now this is his story. Tyler still lives at home with his parents and has no intention of leaving, why would he when he gets everything still done for him at home? This reminds me so much of my own brother haha! Anyway Tyler's parents have had enough and decide it's time for him to grow up and leave the nest! Tyler has a plan up his sleeve he has no intention of leaving home. He also has a plan to get the girl he's had his eye on for a while. Will his plans work out in his favour though?

This novella is hilarious! Andie M Long did a great job writing the POV of a 25 year old mummy's boy! The entire family are hilarious but I have to say the Mum Dora is my favourite! This is a very quick and entertaining read and I can't wait for the next novella to be released! Thoroughly enjoying this series! Five stars!

I received an ARC for an honest review.

This book started off dragging for me. As for the main character was a total wanker. Totally dependent on his parents. But as the the story goes on he redeemed himself. I read this book in one sitting and loved it. It is a book about growth and maturity. Tyler learns to grow up and find the true meaning of love. This is a quick read and I would definitely recommend this book. I'm looking forward to the next book. 5 stars!

Well what can I say about Snow Balls but it had me howling with laughter, the interaction between Tyler and his family had me in stitches. A coming of age drama about loving parents pushed to the limit with their son, to put it simply I loved this book. Balls and Snowballs were my first reads from Andie M. Long's an author who currently has 11 other books available to read, and having enjoyed Snow Balls as much as I did, I will be looking into reading her other books soon.

This novella length book was brilliant think 'Failure to Launch' (for those movie buffs out there) but set in the North of England. Snow Balls follows on from Balls and tells the story of Tyler older brother of Camilla's (lead character in Balls) as he changes from pampered prince still at home with his parents to a responsible Adult. My favourite part of the book was the ending, when like in every good romance true love conquers all, and all it took was a snowball fight, a drunken Kiss and the realisation of the freedoms that living on your own can have. That along with the UK Yorkshire dictionary in the front of the book had me howling and thinking I haven't used that phrase in ages.

This book, like Balls, was comedic romance at its best I only wish they were both a little longer so I could laugh more. A 5 star comedic read with a hint of Romance.

Ahh I loved this book!! So funny and Tyler is a hot mess, but I still love him. We meet Tyler in book 1 briefly so I had a feeling going into this Tyler was complete goof ball and of course I was right. It’s Tyler’s 25th birthday and he is expecting the same traditions as every year, but little does he know it’s not the tradition he thinks… it’s his eviction notice.

Tyler has had it easy in life. He is spoiled by his parents, works part time, and watches YouTube the rest of the time so pretty much he has no responsibilities, until his parents have had enough. Now it’s time for Tyler to grow up and become a man, but can he actually go through with it? Tyler finds himself in a crisis of becoming adult. He makes a plan to win his parents over and ask out the girl who has caught his attention. But as we all know life never goes as planned and Tyler is in for a very rude awakening and a love he didn’t see coming. I really love Andie’s writing style, this book is hilarious and I just can’t get enough!

What a fabulous way to while away some time, this super smart, super funny little novella was a pleasure to read.
This is Tyler’s book and I was thrilled that we got to hear his thoughts on what was going on, the author completely nailed telling the story from his point of view.
I giggled my a$$ off at his musing and mutterings, really he had me chuckling so often I had to try and at least look contrite on more than one occasion, perhaps reading in the office wasn’t such a good idea.
Tyler has lived every day of his life under the comfortable wing of his mum and dad, they gave fair warning that he had to start to review his living arrangements but when they eventually give him the ever loving boot so to speak, he is completely mortified.
No amount of skulduggery is going to change their minds and despite his devious schemes, he has met his match because his mum is having none of his shenanigans and is more than a match for her belligerent boy.
Tyler’s journey from his cosseted life at home into the big bad world will make you smile, as you get to see him finally transitioning from boy to man, Tyler has to finally face the fact that he is a grown up and while he might not like the idea he eventually gets with the program.
The author really has worked her magic with this book, it has everything you could possibly want or need.

This book was given to me in exchange for an honest review.

I've always loved Andies writing style, and this book didn't let me down! I absolutely loved the blurb for this novella as it's a comical storyline. It's the sort of plot which I can see happening within a family, especially as your parents only want the best for you in life. I loved Tim and Dora, as they're the quirky sort of parents who have you laughing with their shenanigans. It was a fun and quirky read.
Tyler has just turned 25, but that wasn't the only change on Christmas day. He was a young man who was used to his mother doing everything for him and had the rug pulled from underneath him when she suddenly stops it all. It was enlightening reading the story from a male perspective, but also, I felt that Andie really captured the dynamics of some parental relationships with their children. Tyler thought he wanted one person based on looks, but what happens when you peak below the surface?
Lindsay is Tyler's best friend of 9 years and she was a person who I found a likeness in. The majority of us has been that invisible person and I loved how Andie ensured we followed her story a little during the novella. Lindsay is feisty, takes no nonsense and knows what she wants. But how long is too long to be in the shadows? Read Snow Balls and you'll find out!

Snowballs by Andie M Long is book 2 but can be read as a stand alone. Snowballs is about Tyler. A 25 year old who still lives with his mom and dad. He has a part time job at a local store but chooses to live at home where his mother can cater to his every whim. He does not help with chores or cooking. His life pretty much revolves around his gaming systems, with an occasional night out with the guys to pick up girls.
For years Tyler’s parents have been telling him that when he turns 25 he has to move out. And sure enough on his 25th birthday he gets an eviction notice in his birthday card from his parents. They give him 3 months to find his own place. But Tyler has a plan. He’s going to make it seem like they can’t live with out him. In the process Tyler actually learns how to take care of himself. He puts more effort into his job and even his attempts at getting a date with Jennifer, a girl he knows through his job at the store. However when his best friend, Lindsay gets a chance at promotion and moving away his chest tightens and his perspective changes.

Can Tyler’s parents live without him in the house? What about Jennifer? Does Lindsay move away?

Another fun sweet read with a little bit of steam between Tyler and…I can’t say! You’ll have to read to find out! 4 stars!

Snowballs is book #2 in the Ball Games Series by the brilliant Andie M Long. I was lucky enough to be a gifted a copy of this book to read for Gemma Reads Too Much.

Andie is slowly making me a Novella convertee, this story was the perfect length to capture Tyler’s story and I adored it from start to finish.

This book is witty and cleverly funny, I was laughing before the story even started when the word ‘Twat’ appears in the Yorkshire Slang Guide. Andie’s writing is inherently funny and even seemingly innocuous things had me giggling like a kid.

I LOVE Tyler!!

He’s a typical teenager wrapped up in the body of an adult and I thought he was bloody genius. His POV was so typically male and almost dim witted in his ignorance yet somehow instead of thinking he was an idiot I just found him completely adorable.

Dora almost stole the show in this book, Tyler and Camille’s mom is a brilliant character and even though she only pops in and out of the story she completely caught my attention every time.

Simply put I loved this book and I can’t wait for the next one!

Snow balls gets 5 stars from me.

I received an ARC in exchange for an honest review.

Overall the book was lighthearted, funny, with romance tossed in while containing a realistic everyday story line.

Tyler Turner's character grew on me and had me laughing not only at his sense of humor but his antics. Lindsey Cross's character is patient, loyal, down to earth and hard working. Both main characters are complex with secondary characters being well developed. The story makes the reader think about what others around us may do everyday that we just take for granted and it gives insight to the growing situation of adult children continuing to live with their parents for longer than they should.

I am looking forward to Andie M. Long's third book in this series about Dora and Tim! Dora is funny and I really hope she gives Tim, Tyler and Camille a lesson they all need to learn, especially Tim.

I am giving this book a 4.7 star rating. I have Balls which is book 1, I am going to read that one, read this one again and wait as patiently as I am capable for New Balls to release.

Knew who this one was about (read and loved the 1st too), but not the how. Really enjoyed this 2nd book from this author. As Tyler is learning one of his first life lessons, he finally comes to the conclusion. And that is that maybe his mother was right. He might actually have to move out on his own.
Tyler is a young man in his mid 20s, and he is used to having his mommy do everything, as literal as humanly possible, for him. From his laundry to serving him food and drinks. Then as promised at Christmas, he is now on a deadline to not only start taking care of himself, but moving out. He cant believe shes actually doing it. Kicking him out! Even his best friend seems to be rooting for the other team. I love Jennifer from the bank! OMG I was laughing so hard. I also liked what came from their date too though. I thought this was a smooth fairy quick read. Really like the family dynamics, they are so very realistic for me. This story flows very naturally, and the characters are very endearing.

This story is brilliantly told.
Tyler a 25 yr old still living at home with his parents, working only a part time job and playing video games. With no ambitions of the future or to moving out
Tyler's parents have given 3 months to find other living arrangements unless he can convince them to allow him to stay.

I got lost in Tyler's world of trying everything possible to not adult ever. This is a story we all can relate to as everyone knows that one person like Tyler. This story is told with absolute humor and whit you cannot help get wrapped up in it! Tyler decides now is the perfect time to go after the girl he has his eye on what ensues from there is just down right funny! I cannot loved this story enough with his mother's plan to make Tyler stop taking her for granted and started pulling his weight around the house is cleaver, sharp and insightful.

This was another fun fast read I truly enjoyed and cannot wait t read more from this author!

I received an ARC of Snow Balls in return for an honest review.
As a mum of three boys I found myself reading this from a different view point than I have previous Andie books.
I wanted to shake Tyler while laughing out loud at him and hugging him too!
This is my second book of Andie's and OMG she is quickly becoming one of my favorite authors!
Not only does she manage to draw you into the characters and their lives but she has the ability to have you in stitches lol.
Tyler is left shocked after his parents follow through on their promise of making him move out when he turns 25.
Quickly realising that his parents do indeed mean business this time, things become a competition between him and his mum.
Will he finally grow up and take responsibility for his life?
Will he wake up and see who/what has been in front of his eyes all along?
I really enjoyed this book and look forward to the next in the series ( though each can be read as a standalone)

I loved the first book in this series of novellas and couldn't wait to read more about Tyler who we first met in book one.

Once again this is a quick read but it has so much going on throughout. Tyler is lazy, he is waited on hand and foot by his extremely patient mum. When she decides she has had enough, on Christmas Day/his birthday no less, he is beyond shocked. The eviction letter is very funny, but what follows is even funnier.

The funniest chapter in the book is one involving alarm clocks, and not just one or two! I was laughing out loud reading that. It's something a lot of mothers would wish they had thought of in the past I'm sure.

This is a laugh out loud story, brilliantly written again, and a great read. Roll on book three!

I loved reading Snow Balls. It's a quick funny read that will have you laughing out loud. I read the first book Balls but I think you would be okay reading this one as a standalone. I love the Turner family. They are a super funny down to earth family.
Tyler is 25 and still lives at home. He doesn't take things very serious. He works part time and plays video games. His Mom is giving him until March to get his own place. He doesn't want to move out. He has his sights on dating Jennifer Lambert who his best friend Lindsay tells him is out of his league. Tyler definitely provides some laughs. If you're looking for a fun read, you should check this one out.

Another fab book in this funny English series.

In Balls we were introduced to Cam's brother Tyler, the lazy almost 25 year old who still lives at home with his parents. The book takes place a few months after Balls left off, on Christmas day, Tyler's birthday, when he gets a bit of shock. After years of having the easy life and his mum do everything for him, he is now being evicted.

I absolutely loved watching whilst Tyler tried to get to grips with everything the real world had to offer. Never have I laughed soo hard at someone trying to cook Pizza, who knew it was so difficult???

I am really enjoying this series and I can't wait to see what Andie has in store for us next :)

Book two in the Balls series.

First we had Dylan, now it's Tyler's turn!

Dora is evicting her 25 year old son, Tyler. It's time she stopped coddling him and let him find his independence. He's none too happy about this and so sets in motion the story behind this development in Tyler's life.

We see all sides of him, from the lazy son to the gaming nerd that hides away in his room when he's not working part time.

I love this series for the fact it's real life. Not every man is a billionaire or buff. Not every woman is completely naive.

Comedy interjected with real-life situations plus some romance on the side. PERFECT!

Another short funny book in the Ball Games series. This one is about Camille's brother Tyler. The original mummy's boy Tyler is a lazy sod, he does the minimum he has to and all he's interested in are his computer games. When his mum gives him his eviction notice and tells him it's time to grow up and move out, we get to see Tyler change from a spoilt mummy's boy to an independent(ish) man. There are some hysterical moments in this book, the part with the vacuum killed me. Overall a good, light hearted, funny book with some fantastic characters. Again I'm gonna mention the mum. She is so funny she deserves her own book.

Not quite as much fun as I thought the first book in this series was, but still a lot of heart. It's hard to get behind a total sloth of a main character, but you end up liking Tyler once he figures out how to be an actual grown up! I loved how his mum pushed him to do all the chores and basically how to be his own person. His relationship with Lindsay was fun too. My only issue was how stinking long it took him to realize he had a great girl right under his nose! But eventually he did and the rest is a nice happily ever after; or I assume. There is no epilogue, but it's a novella, I'm not sure it needs one. It's implied! Cute, quick read!

ARC RECEIVED FOR HONEST REVIEW
Andie Long is DEFINITELY the queen of comedy writing !!!
In this installment of the BALLS series we meet Tyler, Camille's brother. If you've read the first book you'll know what he was given for his 25th birthday and this continues from there.
IT is brilliantly written and i laughed so hard at times i was crying !!
I definitely think Dora's idea was ingenious even though both Tyler and his mum Dora's plans kind of backfired !!
Now i've got ideas of what to do if my kids still live at home when they're 25..............
Absolutely LOVED IT !!

This is a coming of age story... On his 25th birthday Tyler Turner is given his eviction notice by his parents... and this novella see's Tyler turning from a lazy spoilt over grown kid into a fully independent man...

There are laughs and errors along the way ... and some things still need to be pointed out by his mum .... but it's a funny, fast paced story which I enjoyed .... and I even wished for more....

But so far I am enjoying this novella serial ... and I'm excited for next instalment...

Another fab book in this series

We Meet Tyler, in Balls he is the lazy 25 year old that still lives at home with Mum and dad,

I really Enjoyed this short funny read about Tyler, His Mother tries to get him ready for the real world, she leaves him notes about the house and what he has to do cleaning, cooking etc etc.
Some really LOL Moments Pizza for one.

Can't wait for next one!

I am really enjoying this series.
