From the first novel, REVELATIONS – Tyce Greyson is a journalist with a background of having strange visions due to a serpent’s bite suffered while on Patmos, the Aegean island where the Prophet John received the Revelation.
Now, Tyce has had a car accident during a powerful rainstorm. Upon getting extricated from his wrecked car he is shown a strange, golden sarcophagus in the back of the tractor-trailer that caused the accident.
He later learns that the golden, burial chamber is part of the project in which he is asked by the Israeli government to participate. He is assigned to investigate and write on the archeological find. But in reality, he is surreptitiously to learn what diabolical, globalists plan for the creature found within the sarcophagus...
From 2003 when the mummy is discovered in a dried-up, Euphrates riverbed in the area of ancient Babylon, through the time when the globalists threaten to establish an evil world empire in 2020.
“Terry James is not only a good author; he is one of the few who knows why this world is on the verge of self-destruction and what must be done about it. The reason is he has a deep understanding of the End Times prophecies of the Bible, both Old and New Testaments. For they alone reveal the wonderful plan God has for the future of mankind today and for our eternal future.” – Dr. Tim LaHaye, co-author of the Left Behind series.
Librarian Note: There is more than one author in the Goodreads database with this name.
TERRY JAMES is author, general editor, and co-author of numerous books on Bible prophecy, hundreds of thousands of which have been sold worldwide. James is a frequent lecturer on the study of end time phenomena, and interviews often with national and international media. His website is RaptureReady.com with over 200,000 visits a day.
An interesting if at times confusing read. Terry James's incorporation of current-day political machinations puts an unexpected spin on the story. The story follows Tyce, a reporter, and the visions he receives related to the end-times, prior to Christ's second coming. Often, Michael, possibly an angel, is the source of the information given to Tyce as part of his vision. As the visions often occur under unusual circumstances and with Michael's aid, one wonders how the recipient could also invoke them with the use of man's technology. This is one aspect of the story which is poorly addressed. Secondly, Tyce's difficulty in accepting God's hand in all that happens to him is also puzzling, but I suppose that is how many people react, with denial. All that said, this is an interesting read and makes one look at today's geopolitical, economic, and even environmental events through a different lens.
I was sorely disappointed with this book. I enjoyed the prior book, so had hopes for this book, they never came to fruition. The storyline started off all right, it was set up to be potentially interesting, but slowed to an excruciating boredom. A major trope was repeated from the first novel, it just felt lazy. Very little action, a lot of meetings and flying to Israel and back to DC repeatedly. I kept waiting for it to come together, resolve something or reveal something, but no. The fluctuation between bible prophecy, New age spiritualism and political conspiracy theory was messy and confusing, not to mention boring. I finally got to 90% of the book being read, then things began to shake up a little. Too little, too late!
If another book follows, extending the series; it is highly unlikely that I will bother to read it. I generally enjoy this genre; this just felt like a chore. It took my forever to push through and finish
Fascinating story in which Type sees the future while in a coma. But it wasn't like a dream, it was it felt so real, that he actually fell in love. When he wakes up he finds he been unconscious for 5 years. All the people in his "coma life" are involved in his "real" life but they don't know him as well as he knows them. And don't forget Michael, everyone should have a Michael. This is a cliffhanger so please don't be too long getting Book 3 finished. Thank you for putting 2020 in perspective. Thank you for a great story.
Loved the technology. Enjoyed it greatly with One Reservation
The book kept me hooked until I got to the end. Then I realized there must be another book coming. Though the immediate crisis was resolved the overarching plot resolution was nowhere in sight. I felt as though I had just eaten an extremely delicious appetizer. But as the woman in the old commercial used to say, "Where's the Beef?"
This novel was a mixed bag. It had some aspects of what I would call 'new age'...like automatic writing. It had some biblical end times...some followed scripture, other parts, not so much. I suppose if you keep in mind it is fiction, then the veering off the straight and narrow path won't bother you too much. It also had the strange repeating of the first part, because the hero was actually in a coma for years. That was bizarre.
The book was disappointing compared to its predecessor! It did not maintain the pace nor the fascinating engrossment built up in the first book! It rambled into unwanted areas and unnecessary, unrealistic politics with unbelievable political personalities so much that it digressed from the main purpose of the story!
A total disappointment for the fans of Revelations!!
The story is enthralling, the pace exciting. There are some discrepancies between the first book and the second but nothing that hinders the story. I didn’t care for the ending because it left too many unanswered questions. It feels like there should be another book in the series.
Bible prophecy brought out in real life experienced in dreams and shown to be true. How evil is pushing to defeat the US and Israel and unleash darkness and suffering to mankind. Great continuing story.
I'm very interested in this topic since there seem to be so many similarities in these times and the book of Revelations. I found the characters very smart. Yes, we know how the story ends, but we all want to know how it gets there.
