I'm a Creep

Rate this book
From an early age, I was bullied and abused.
Forced in to submission.
Forced to be a victim.
Until one fateful day just before my sixteenth birthday when I finally cracked.
With the snap of a finger, I was a changed girl.
No longer timid.
No longer frightened.
Instead, I armed myself with the knowledge of their secrets.
All who had bullied me.
All who had abused me.
I am no longer their victim.
The timid little plaything they can pick up whenever they damn well please.
Now I am vengeance.
I am the eye of the storm.
Nothing and no one can stand in my way.
And if anyone dare try ...
Be prepared to pay in blood.

I was so confused at the beginning I had to read the prologue and half of the first chapter twice. Once I realized what happened I had to question the bath, especially after finding out Elijah’s a cop. Why the hell would he immediately get her into a bath?

I love unexpected friendships and the one between Bryce and Frank is heartwarming. It’s oddly sweet to picture a 17 year old girl hanging out with a man in his 70’s smoking weed and shooting the shit.

I appreciate that this didn’t automatically take the bloody revenge route. Gotta love a girl smart enough with enough moxie to blackmail her bullies.

How nice that Elijah makes sure his 17 year old step daughter takes her birth control everyday so he doesn’t get her pregnant.

I’m so torn about this whacked out relationship. They’re both so obsessed with each other it’s disturbing yet hot. I can’t figure out how I really feel about it. But I do know one thing, those two are fucking toxic.

I don’t understand why Elijah keeps questioning her behavior after the rape. It was obviously a catalyst and I sincerely doubt he’s that naive.

I know it’s wrong but it would be a bit of a double standard if I didn’t, because I’ve never had an issue loving male psychopaths. I fucking love Bryce, I like her take no prisoner, viscous attitude. Obviously she’s morally wrong on a number of things she did, especially the ones that didn’t come about because of revenge. But I don’t care, it’s a breath of fresh air having a female character so morally ambiguous.

Omg you know who Bryce reminds me of? Serial Mom! You know, John Waters flick with Kathleen Turner? If you haven’t seen it, I highly recommend it!

So, in the 8th grade I had a bully until I got to my breaking point and clocked her, nearly broke her jaw. I don’t condone violence or what I did but when I got back from suspension, a number of my classmates congratulated me on standing up for myself. Anyways, I was mostly worried about my dad’s reaction, dude was temperamental af. But guess what? He was proud of me too. Sometimes you just need to stick up for what is right.

I think I’m starting to understand why Elijah did what he did with the bath situation.

Even though they’re both toxic af, I suppose that just means they’re made for each other.

Another Siren-like book?

Say no more.

Well, what can I say? It was exactly what I hope for and it met all my expectations. Sure, I have a few criticisms on this piece (i.e. she was 16/17 most of the times and managed to do all of those stuffs? A dainty girl overpowering adult men? Mmm, maybe suspend your disbelief in more than few occasions there.)

However, it is super addictive. And I couldn't stop reading it. I binged this all in just one day, it was that interesting. Oh and, she's definitely not your normal heroine (unless your normal is a murderer, extortionist or rapist, then yeah.)

If you love dark romance though, mainly set in a high school setting, with age gap relationship; then this is the book for you.

I haven’t read Jaimie Roberts in some time, and now I am wondering why. I have always loved her writing. I’m A Creep is a unique twist to an unconventional romance with so many tropes, age gap, taboo, and dark all rolled into one book.

After a horrific event, Bryce is full of rage, anger, and revenge. She is getting back to those who bullied her and getting back her control. She is a lethal, fierce psychopath. Got to give this girl some credit; I wouldn’t want to be on her list. She is cool and calculating, right down to the last detail. Please don’t stand in the girl's way; she will come at you when you least expect it. I loved how she befriended her elderly neighbor and kept him company, plus she kept me laughing with some of her antics.

All those fuckers better watch their backs, because like the proverbial storm, I’m coming.

Elijah is Bryce’s stepfather, who has fought his attraction to his stepdaughter. He is a controlling alpha. Most of the time, he pissed me off. But I trust the process and had a feeling there was more there, and I was right. I question him so many times. Then all was revealed, By the end, I loved him.

He so desperately wants to rule my life, to own me and possess me in every way possible, but what Elijah doesn’t realize is… It’s me who owns him.

“You taste sweet,” he purrs, causing my legs to tighten with need. “It’s just a pity it doesn’t match the rest of you.”

I’m A Creep is mainly told in Bryce's POV between past and present. On my dark scale. It is medium gray. The spice is 4/5. Bryce is a temptress and knows how to use it to her advantage. The author can write some steamy scenes. The ending was everything. You couldn’t ask for a better ending,

Genre: Erotic Suspense
Type: Standalone
POV: First Person - Female
Rating:

For years Bryce Turner stayed quiet and endured abuses thrown at her. But her patience had run its course. No longer the timid pushover, she vowed to make things right - in her own way.

Bryce is the kind of character I love in fiction. The kind that is unapologetic with no holds barred. She might be an acquired taste for some but I loved how she unleashed herself and went all out.

“You taste sweet,” he purrs, causing my legs to tighten with need. “It’s just a pity it doesn’t match the rest of you.”

I didn’t aspect a certain taboo element in the book and that was a welcomed surprise. The sex scenes were hot especially the ones where she explored her sexuality.

I’m a Creep is a story of taking control of one’s life. It would appeal to readers who enjoy dark erotic suspense with morally questionable characters.

I am convinced this is Wattpad on steroids

-Every man that appears in the book lust after her

-She has a costume change and all her bullies couldn't recognise her

-She is SO smart she could probably skip a few grades and still become president

She is LITERALLY untouchable

Also, Second hand-embarrassment is my best friend here.
The things she says, screams, 'I'm not like other girls,' actually, I think in our modern and advanced terminology we call people like her a 'pick me' girl( A more psycho/revengeful version of a 'pick me' girl, but nonetheless, a 'pick me' girl )

The book was interesting in it's "unique" way...I read it till the end so it wasn't terribly bad, it just didn't felt it was plotted well

I just have 1 question that the author never addresses throughout the WHOLE book.
: Why did her step-father marry her mother?

It was stated that they dated, after which they eventually got married, but we never got a clear answer about their relationship.

It didn't seem like he liked her mother enough to even date her, least of all, marry her.
So like how did they even get together??

Thank you to the author for provided a review copy of this book. Whilst the book didn't slay me, and that was very much down to personal preference, it is still a well written, twisty and entertaining story. I liked Bryce, though given her age I did have to take a bucket full pinch of salt to accompany her escapades. They were not the believable actions of a 16/17 year old and most of the time she read more like a mid 20's heroine. As a result I struggled to connect with Bryce, which is where the personal preference comes into play. As another reviewer (Gisell) said, you need to "strap in, suspend disbelief and don’t overthink things." However if you want me to suspend that much disbelief please make it fantasy/PNR!

The feel of the story was reminiscent of Stylo Fantome and Natalie Bennett, so fans of those two authors should definitely check out this author's work. It's not a style of writing that I particularly care for, for me to still enjoy the story does says something about the overall execution of it. I felt it just needed more plot movement (or just plot), in order for me to really enjoy it. This was more of a delve into the psyche of one very troubled and dangerous young girl with a chaotic and haphazard mien. More a series of shocking events rather than a flowing story which built on prior events and demonstrated genuine character growth.

The taboo element wasn't particularly offensive to me, mainly because Bryce does the pursuing but also because it was obvious that Elijah cared deeply for her. The erotic elements were well written and nicely balanced the darker parts of the story. Just because I didn't love it doesn't mean you won't, so it's very much worth giving this a try.

I haven’t had this much fun reading a book in a long, long, long time! Female main character Bryce is unlike any character I’ve ever met! Not only is she off-the-wall bizarre (a.k.a. “a creep“), but she is a total badass who doesn’t give a flying fuck about pretty much anyone. Sick of being bullied and abused, she decides she’s not going to take anyone’s shit anymore. What she does is beyond description! She’s not just unpredictable and crazy, but she’s also very promiscuous, so when she’s not busy screwing whoever she feels like, she’s either getting revenge or planning revenge on everyone else.

Bryce is so wild, and so much fun to read about!! There was so much constantly going on, but because this book is so well written, it wasn’t ever confusing. I couldn’t put the book down - I just kept wanting to read more and more, eager to find out what Bryce would do next! Luckily, each chapter was funner to read than the one before it! It’s truly a phenomenal story you won’t soon forget!!

Some spoilers

This was an amazingly twisted, dark taboo romance novel. I see people comparing this with Siren, and I can understand why, both heroines are vengeful, slutty kickass girls, but unlike Siren, this has a HEA and it makes you feel good when it ends. I’m a Creep is a love story in a fucked up way.

Might spoil some later when I have more time, but I would say not for safety gang because it has rape, h/h both kill people, but they don’t betray each other . She does sleep around but that’s before the MC are together, once they’re together she’s only a slut for him. They’re actually obsessively devoted to each other, because she’s his fucking queen!

No cheating but for 1 questionable scene that would’ve pissed me off and DNF if it had been the hero who did this. The heroine went to kill this girl, and to get back at her for wanting the hero, she sucked her nipples and made her orgasm by rubbing her clit before killing her off. Our heroine is bi, but she didn’t want that girl, it was done to teach her a lesson.
If the hero had done this I still would’ve said cheating, then would’ve avoided this authors other books, but the hero in this book was faithful, possessive and hugely OTT jealous, even of other women touching her.

Stepdad Hero is almost 40
Heroine is 17. ( she’s a a murderer, rapist, evil schemer, and a proud slut.)

Highly recommend it.

This book is not for you, if you’re into virgins or doormats.

After years of abuse, Bryce Turner has reached her limit. As she starts to implement her plan, nothing is going to get in the way.

“Why is it that people seem to think they can punish me for something I haven’t fucking done?”

Narrated in Bryce’s POV, the timeline shifts between the past and present showing Bryce in high school and college. Though many years do not pass, the time is crucial in what she experiences and how she is going to dish it out.

Bryce is a conniving character without any moral boundaries and I couldn’t wait to read what was going to do next. What I didn’t expect in this story was the extremely steamy taboo element causing a panty melting dynamic between Bryce and Elijah. After counting down the days with Bryce, the ending was quite satisfying.

i’m a CREEP is dark erotic story steeped in scheming and revenge.

I really enjoyed this it’s unique and very unusual completely over the top in places but still fabulous all the same. It’s not really a romance focused story but there is a relationship at the centre here a very hot taboo one at that.
I personally would describe this as more of a psychological erotic suspense with a slight pinch of romance. So don’t go into this one if you're after a conventional romance story this is not really that.

Bryce the female protagonist is a young woman who is filled to the brim with a venomous rage emerging from her chrysalis she finds an outlet as she morphs into a powerful vengeful individual who takes her pound of flesh from whoever she feels wronged by.
This girl has a very wonky moral compass and is definitely psychopathic. She’s a sultry temptress that is not afraid to use whatever or whoever is at her disposal to achieve her aims. She is able to paste a smile on her face so others don’t see what’s coming until it’s too late.

This is told in a past and present manner so we get the now where she’s approaching eighteen and living with her stepdad whose also her secret lover Elijah and also happens to be the Chief of police.
and the then two years earlier where Bryce took her revenge so spectacularly.
She’s also a very obsessive personality and as far as she’s concerned Elijah is hers and anyone who upsets or threatens that balance is basically collateral damage. This one is a steaming hot tale of manipulation games murder and obsession.

It’s all told from Bryce’s POV and this girl is so a loose cannon and I bloody adored her and her complete lack of conscience.
This also didn’t feel taboo with Elijah either mostly because of just how manipulative and amoral Bryce was I actually liked them together and they fed off each other’s energy.
But my favourite part was that epilogue man that was good and so well played these two are definitely soul mates through and through. This one was in a class all of its own a very unique story that I won’t forget in a hurry.

On a side note do be aware that this is very graphic in the heat department and the past flashbacks by Bryce contain other individuals she has been intimate with.
Our girl does initially find her power through taking control of her own sexuality this also does contain some scenes that might be triggering for some.

About this book:

1. The heroine is a crazy manipulative bit*h (but she has her reasons);
2. The Hero is a possessive ass*ole;
3. The story is totally fuck*d up;
4. You gonna understand everything clearly just at the end;
5. The level of steam is HIGH 🔥🔥🔥

In summary this book drove me crazy and
I LOVED IT 🤩🤩🤩

Bryce had a shitty life, but she managed to survive until the traumatic event that changed her forever...

Craving the power and the control they took from her, she start spying all the ones who wronged her 'cause knowing everyone' secrets is the best weapon.

𝑨𝒍𝒍 𝒕𝒉𝒐𝒔𝒆 𝒇*𝒄𝒌𝒆𝒓𝒔 𝒃𝒆𝒕𝒕𝒆𝒓 𝒘𝒂𝒕𝒄𝒉 𝒕𝒉𝒆𝒊𝒓 𝒃𝒂𝒄𝒌𝒔, 𝒃𝒆𝒄𝒂𝒖𝒔𝒆 𝒍𝒊𝒌𝒆 𝒕𝒉𝒆 𝒑𝒓𝒐𝒗𝒆𝒓𝒃𝒊𝒂𝒍 𝒔𝒕𝒐𝒓𝒎, 𝒊'𝒎 𝒄𝒐𝒎𝒊𝒏𝒈.
𝑨𝒏𝒅 𝒏𝒐𝒕𝒉𝒊𝒏𝒈 𝒂𝒏𝒅 𝒏𝒐 𝒐𝒏𝒆 𝒄𝒂𝒏 𝒔𝒕𝒐𝒑 𝒎𝒆.

She has a plan and she gonna do everything to get what she want: revenge and Elijah.

I can’t tell you how much i loved Bryce😍😍
She may just be an eighteen yo girl but she is not some damsel in distress.
She soon understood she had to fight for herself and dispite some behaviours i can’t agreed with, i never blamed her.
On the other hand i'm not a fan of Elijah: in the end his actions spook out loud his love for Bryce but some of his choices made me hate him a bit.

Their relationship is based on an insanely obsession, and I liked it because both of them feel that way toward each other.
It makes everything more intriguing and hot, and bloody 😏😏😂

The only thing that bother me a bit was the epilogue: it was a bit rushed.

This was my first book from Jaimie Roberts but I can assure you it won’t be the last 😌

So f'king good!

Who would have thought you could tie so many elements together and come out with a believable, captivating story? Bully romance, age gap, taboo, suspense thriller. This one does it and with deliciously creepy twists topped by steam. Oh and there are secrets....

What happens when you push a good girl to the edge? You unearth her fundamental self; you flip a switch from victim to confident, spirited avenger. You expose her monster. Bryce, initially a meek and conforming girl, took on those who had wronged her with aplomb, and all with careful planning that comes with being pushed too far.

The past meets present style in which each chapter alternated, depicted like pieces of events, past then present, rather than a linear story, actually worked in this book. And while at times I got the timelines mixed up as they started to converge, it was more a matter of being completely engrossed and not wanting to make that mental switch. It was like mini cliffhangers at the end of each chapter, keeping you just on the edge until that mind-blowing, climatic conclusion. (I would love to read about them in a future epilogue.)

Sexy couple, taboo relationship, this book was hot at the center of the sun level. Off. The. Charts! So much steam...one of the steamiest I’ve read and likely enriched by the taboo nature of the storyline too.

Elijah was the possessive, controlling alpha...stepfather ("daddy") and Bryce, his would-be submissive, feigned her little girl role. But don’t let her youth fool you. She was in complete control. No virginal, daddy knows better than young girl trope here (thank you), though this book also played upon the daddy role, in an original way. Side character were majorly integral to the plot despite many of whom being unredeemable; their importance to the storyline wove the framework of Bryce's retribution. I loved the few noteworthy ones, including Frank, the neighbor; and Elijah's, as Chief of Police, work force.

Unputdownable! One of the few books ever that I could not stop reading, dying to know what would happen next. This story epitomized obsessive love, taking control, sexual confidence, and flawed character acceptance. Perfect couple, made for each other. This book...absolutely shattering and one of my two favorites this year.

my only fave part & golden highlight in this book was when the heroine: Bryce stolen Brad’s virginity & raped tf outta of his christinaity. The ending when she said she ain’t on the pill. 💀 This bishhh made me a lesbo for her! Y’all know how bad I been wanting a female main character like this. 🥹👉🏻👈🏻 This heroine is a fantasy villain queen coming to life. So tired of the double standard & authors writing main heroes doing the noncon acts, but never female main characters - vice versa. *ahem* authors (yea, you) pls take a page out of Jaimie Roberts. 😉

Okay, here's the thing.

Suspend your beliefs and just go along for the ride or else you'll end up questioning and thinking too much.

Think of it as a Hollywood movie...while you're wacked out under the influence.

I understood where the author was trying to go with this, and...it was all over the place.

The two characters I loved the most were Elijah and Frank. That's about it LOL.

Holy damn. This was so screwed up, and I couldn't put it down for one minute once I started. There's nothing good happening in this book. The closest way I can describe it is a mild high school version of Dexter, Gone girl, and I spit on your grave... with an age gap romance on top of that. And yet I could. not. stop. reading it.

Well played Jaimie Roberts, well played.

‘She has my soul, and I gladly fucking bow down to her.’

Well, what do we say about I’m a CREEP by Jaimie Roberts? Twisted, sarcastically funny, dark, steamy, incredibly taboo, and downright crazy; these are all words we’d use to describe this story. However, we could not look away and binged it in one sitting. We were intrigued from the cover to the synopsis to the first chapter which hooked us! We must applaud this Author for keeping a fast-paced momentum in this well-written and compelling story. If you enjoy an age gap dark romance and can suspend your disbelief, then this story may be for you. Beware of triggers and sensitive material though.

‘He so desperately wants to rule my life, to own me and possess me in every way possible, but what Elijah doesn’t realize is…It’s me who owns him.’

We feel odd saying this but in all the obscene and twisted that ultimately compelled us, we did have a problem with one scene in this book and wish it hadn’t been justified in the way it was. We won’t say what it was, and it might not bother other readers, but it bothered us.

‘I may have once been a timid, shy girl who everyone thinks they can walk all over, but not anymore.’

We’re not going to lie though, we were consumed with Bryce and Elijah’s story, it was seriously f*cked up and these two characters were as bad as each other with their mind games, betrayal, lies, and violent scheming behaviour! We still don’t know if we actually liked anything about either of them, but we believe that was exactly the Author’s intention anyway. They became an addiction and a fiery train wreck which we couldn’t look away from! Thank goodness for the sweet which came from Bryce’s friendship with Frank the neighbour. As far as dark messed up romances go, this was definitely one of the most compelling and well written ones we’ve read in a while!

4.5 A Revengeful Dream
* * * * 1/2 Spoiler Free-A Quick Review
Well, this was my second foray into the land of dark and twisted by Jaimie Roberts and I must give credit where credit is due: This book is a revenge dream. It is like the fantasy of every kid that has ever been bullied in school and how our gal gets hers back on steroids.

Now there is more to this book than that but it felt like the main drivers were two things.
First, it was to get revenge and cause the appropriate pain to those who did her wrong, and second, get the "love" angle of this tale to finally admit he was in love with her. She had big plans for after she turned 18 but the ramp-up to until that time, she takes every moment to be sexually fulfilled by the object of her desires.

This is not some cute revenge tale, this gets really dark and dirty and if you have any types of triggers, I would stay away.

I didn't like it, I knew I had to suspend belief, I didn't know I had to suspend it THAT much. I liked the f/f interactions though, I don't read a lot of those so I am curious enough to go searching for one.

This is a dark, twisted tale of a forbidden relationship with an age gap romance. It’s not pretty or healthy, but the H and h are dedicated and OBSESSED with each other, and they get their version of a HEA.

To enjoy this, you really need to be in the mood to be entertained immorally by psychos and just go with it. The h is not endearing or really likable. She does terrible things to both guilty and innocent people… like killing, blackmailing, and even screwing her BFF’s dad just because she wants to break his 20-year faithfulness to his wife… who she liked… and be able to compare father and son.

The flow flips between the past (two years earlier) and the present and is told by the h’s POV.

Bottom Line- I thought it was ok. I love reading crazy people, they’re super fun… I just thought this was missing something or was 70-100 pages too long. Maybe having the H’s POV would’ve helped. 🤷‍♀️There’s action, but it started to all feel the same, and I was getting a smidge bored. Maybe if she would’ve switched it up, but the h pretty much does the same stuff for 300+ pages.

Safety-

All the ingredients put on high burner of Uber-boiling emotions and you have a scalding hot book which has more twists than a French braid.
It's hard to pin point who's the creep, cause every character is tainted with some evil and weirdness in someway, except Frank, the next door old man who has eye and ear on everybody.
It was high strung, crazy ride into creepville and be prepared to check your morals at the door and let your jaw hang loose, Lots of tabboo treats will have it in a perpetual dropped stance 😮
Don't bother picking it off the floor, another one of #WTFmoment is just around the corner!!

While the story itself held my interest enough that I wanted to see it through, this wasn’t a good book. There’s clearly a niche for people who just love stories that are somewhat incestuous in nature and feature “bad”/naughty/sociopathic girls (literal girls - since the main character spent most of the book waiting to turn 18), and ephebophile main and secondary characters.

Is it taboo? Yeah. Because it’s gross and legitimately wrong. A stepdad who grooms and systematically rapes his teenage stepdaughter? Adult fathers of teens openly lusting after and hitting on a 16 year old girl? Y’all, that shit isn’t sexy. It’s abuse and it is rampant in society. Why are we glorifying this?

Why are we supposed to root for this murderous abused child to continue to seduce grown men who should know better? Gross. It’s gross.

Also. The lack of editing and proofreading throughout this book was atrocious. A published book needs to do better. Woman and Women? Not interchangeable. Open up a thesaurus or a dictionary and make sure the words being used are indeed the correct ones. Punctuation? Yeah that’s not optional.

And finally. Don’t assign a locale to a book when there is no need for it. There was no reason for this to take place in Kentucky - potentially the Lexington area - when there wasn’t a single solitary local or state detail mentioned that was relevant to it.

All of it - just bad. This book reminded me of an extremely rough draft, nowhere near ready to publish.

This book was just revenge fantasies to the max.
-=- 2.5 stars -=-

I knew this was going to be unserious when the MMC had vibrant violet eyes 💀 I don't know how to explain it but it was unironically giving Wattpad 😭.

It was also so unbelievably difficult to picture a 16 yo as the MC in the flashbacks- it just wasn't believable to me, and felt really OTT. The whole story felt like it was doing too much, it was honestly all over the place- maybe that was the intention? idk 💀

But the book was definitely entertaining 🤷‍♀️.

I don't even know where to start since I have so much to say, there will be spoilers in this review but I feel obligated to make sure NO ONE ever reads this book.....or any other book made by this author.
Before I go ham on this review I want you to breathe in and out, and prepare mentally cause this book was the most dirtiest, disgusting, horribly written wattpad wannabe fictional book to ever exist. I want to apologise to my bookclub members as I was the one who chose this book PURELY because the blurb sold me....

To summarise, main character Bryce had a shit childhood, school life, parents blah blah blah every other boring damn character. She has this break through that made her badass, unbearably hot ( keep this in mind ) and ding dong po po here, incest with her stepfather. yes you heard that right. She starts getting the hots for her stepfather, so what did she do? starts killing, blackmailing and ruining peoples lives so her and her precious step dad can live a fairy tail filled with sex every hour of the day life. He's a police chief and has killed people too, this couple or should I say father and daughter killed so many damn people but was never once caught. HELLO?!?!? There was so many unnecessary sex scenes in this book that it just drained me.

Bryce fucking irked me so badly that I wanted to pull hair out of my head every time the author gave her reading-air-time ( which is throughout the whole book cause she's the main character....duh ). Bryce is the definition of a poorly written character with a failed attempt at character development. She was once a timid and shy girl, who got bullied cause she was different. Then oh my goodness, I'm so sick of being like this, I'm gonna change. ( P.S. I think what also triggered this was because she was rapped which is fair but it definitely barely go into the story like...at all... ). She quite literally just showed up to school in the sluttiest fit, talked back for once in her life and boom she was a changed women ( who is still a minor keep that in mind ). She started taking care of herself and all of a sudden she was so hot that she gave a boner to every guy that she walks past. Breaking necks and seduced every man of ANY AGE without trying, YOU HEARD THAT RIGHT. OF. ANY. AGE. She was suddenly the hottest women alive, I thought that title belonged to Angelina Jolie but still.
There was a scene where she was blackmailing a bully of hers and she quite literally sexually assaulted the guy and made him her dog. He then grew to like her because, main character buff duh. Because she was so hot he decided "hey maybe it's not so bad that she blackmailed me and sexually assaulted me AND made me her slave". One scene with these two that I cannot get out of my mind is when she got to the back of his truck, spread and opened her legs wide like a tunnel and said " eat my pussy as a reward". OOOH GIRL IF YOU DON'T FUCKING CALM THE FUCK DOWN. There was like a span of 3 chapters where the most used word was "pussy" and I could not take it anymore. It would go along the lines of "I know he wants this PUSSY but he didn't deserve this PUSSY" or "my PUSSY is so wet, I can't wait for my stepdad to eat this PUSSY out",,,,,,,my sanity...... to save some time I'm gonna write the rest in dot points.

- she rapped a religious guy who was waiting before marriage purely for revenge since he bullied her. even if he did, her rapping him and being fully aware of it is fucked up and hypocritical of her. Saying shit like "you came twice, that means you enjoyed it"....this shouldn't be in a book man, there weren't even any trigger warnings.

- it was fucking annoying that every chapter the reader has to be reminded of how hot she is. LIKE WE GET IT, SHES ATTRACTIVE AND EXCEEDED SOCIETIES BEAUTY STANDARD. Every where she went men drooled over her and every fucking guy wanted to fuck her, including dads. obviously. It was just so repetitive and borderline annoying. Made me feel as if the author was imagining herself as Bryce as she wrote this book. if you get the jitz.

- She was also really smart. Which brings me to the topic of " a character who has no flaws within herself, making her character overly boring" as a writer myself, she didn't have any flaws (since I wouldn't call her obsession for her father a personality trait.) and only was said to be perfect all round. ( aside from her being crazy ) This is just such shit and lazy writing.

- She gets with her best friends dad cause he was falling for her. This again stems back to the repetitiveness of how hot she is. At 16 years old, a grown married man said to her "you are the most beautiful girl I've ever seen". At your fossil age I hope you die along with that crazy bitch.

Elijah is also the most cliche " big, tall, buff, hot, police chief, dominant grr Rawr angy, YOU'RE MINE" character ever. Him being a step dad and being horny for his step daughter since she was 16 is fucking gross. The author would write him out to be quite literally exactly the same as Bryce as he was equally obsessed with her also and was described as wayyy too hot. ouchie. Overall boring as fuck character, nothing special about him. Though in the Epilogue, there was one paragraph of him just worshipping Bryce, talking about how perfect she was in the most dramatic metaphors to exist in man kind.

I think....that was it.....I read this book cause I needed to finish it for bookclub. I'm glad I did cause now I finally have a book I purely hated more than love hypothesis. I want to apologise to all my friends who had to deal with me raging about this book. I would admit, it made me laugh a couple times from how ridiculous it is. But that doesn't excuse the fact that it was the worst book I have ever read, not sure how it has the ratings that it has now.
I hope the author never writes again, respectfully. The writing felt like a 13 year old had written it and published it on wattpad. I reckon this story itself would fit righttt into that Community.

thank you whoever read it this far. -Ann

Wow! and yes, thank you!!

First - TRIGGERS listen kids - don't read this if you have those pesky things called triggers and morals. You won't enjoy this book at all, and it does nobody any good to read things that they're warned against and then complain about it after the fact! Stepfather love, murder, rape, bullying are all things you should be prepped for before starting on this adventure.

Elijah (hot cop stepdad, jealous, obsessive, possessive murderer) takes care of Bryce (once a victim, now a vengeful murderer paying people back for their shit) after his drug addicted wife (Bryce's mother) "dies" of an overdose. It's really hard to tell you what happens without giving everything away. The sex between Elijah and Bryce is super hot for me, most people won't like it though. I loved Bryce and could totally relate to her on some levels. A lot of people don't understand the behaviors that come from sexual assault survivors. In this case, Bryce wants to be the one in control of her body, add to that she's dealing with teen hormones and curiosity. Some will think oh she's just a slut - but she's not. She's dealing and surviving. I understand this.

Two side characters that you'll love are Frank and Adam. They're actually the best and give you the tenderness you need to counterbalance the murder and stuff. LOL yes I said that.

I go back and forth on if I want to give this a 4 or 5. There were a lot of plot holes that I didn't like. One of them being he said he had eyes on her at all times?? How and who? If it was someone other than him, then didn't they see her spying and murdering?? It couldn't be him because there were several times where he didn't know where she was.
Then there's the prison "pen pal" she has. I didn't understand that at the end. I mean I know what happened, it just actually shocked me and left me scratching my head.
Then, was he ever actually in love with Bryce's mother? They got married after 4 months together? I didn't understand that relationship AT ALL.
So I'm going with a 4. Still love it though.
