The New Beginnings series will appeal to young adult (YA) and adult readers alike. In Knitting (book #4) you will further enjoy the interactions of the senior women from New Beginnings church as they rally to help teens Chevon and Jason face a life-altering decision. The theme of Knitting is extremely relevant to the culture we live in, dealing with the issue of abortion but not in an overly preachy manner. The dilemma facing Chevon and Jason and their families is realistically portrayed by the author.

Following Zoe's maturation and success in high school is also a strong theme in this story as she seems to find her niche on the girls' basketball team. A very strong plus for this entire series is the age-range of the characters. It is heartening to read about pre-teens, teens, adults, and senior citizens positively interacting with and helping one another.

Robin Merrill does an excellent job of developing characters and stories that we can all relate to in her New Beginnings series. I hope you choose to read these books and that you enjoy them as much as I did.

This is the fourth book in the New Beginnings series and I have to say that I already feel like crying because I know there are only two books left. I don’t want this series to end!

In each new book new characters come into play while our old favorites show up to give us updates on their lives, or play a bigger role than in previous books. This was the story of Chevon and Jason.

I love the way this author brings relevant and realistic situations to life in her stories. Her characters are well bought out, realistic, imperfect, Christian and non-Christian, young, old, or middle-aged, so we get to see a lot of different perspectives and belief systems discussed. We also see how things change when God comes into the story, and hope begins. This is a faith-filled story full of wonderful godly wisdom. This is what I love most about this series—that God shows up in these characters and shows us how lives can be changed by seven old (sometimes crotchety) women who have committed to doing all they can to help whenever someone has a need—to offer love, support, kindness, and prayer. In this story, through much prayer, love, wisdom and kindness, these unassuming old ladies do it again, providing a satisfyingly sweet ending to this story.

Knitting (New Beginnings Book 4), my fourteenth read from author Robin Merrill. I've read over 300 books so far this year and this book is among the very best of them. A must-read. No spoilers from me. Outstanding Christian fiction, with well-written with characters & a plot you can buy into with unexpected twists & turns. “I received a free Kindle copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving a review." The gifting of this book did not affect my opinion of it. (RIP Marley January 20, 2014 - July 24, 2018).

I love that I can read Robin Merrill's books without fear of foul language or situations that don't align with my values.

This book, the 4th in a series, covers a very sensitive topic. I appreciate her bravery in taking on this issue with biblical truth. We need more of that kind of bravery in this world. Well written (just a couple of editing mistakes), engaging, and short chapters that let you progress fluently through the story.

I've already purchased book #5!
