When the POG players stacked the full amount of their POGS they then took a hard either plastic or metal device known as a “slammer” and slammed this object on top of the stack. The quantity of POGS the POG player flipped after striking the stack of POGS with the metal or plastic slammer is the amount of POGS that each POG player gets to keep and this means that a game of POGS on many occasions ended within the first strike without even giving the second player a chance to strike the cardboard stack of POGS with his/her metal or plastic slammer.
