Can Andrews forgive Emma for breaking his heart ten years ago?
Dr. Preston Andrews is thrilled with how well his new cardiology department is doing at Alpine Hospital, despite how chaotic it has gotten. He knows his patients are cranky about the long wait times, but it isn’t until one of them donates a large chunk of cash, specifically asking Andrews to fix the problems in the office, does he realize just how much of an issue it is.
Andrews wants to use the money on bonuses for his hard-working employees, but the dean of medicine insists it go toward hiring a new person. Much to Andrews’ surprise, the dean has already chosen someone—a woman still in medical school. Despite Andrews’ skepticism that a student doctor will ease any loads, he agrees to move forward with the plan. When she shows up, though, she’s the last person he expected to see.
Emma Thomas broke off her engagement to Andrews years earlier when a better offer came along. Life didn’t go as expected, though, and she’s finally returning home to Alpine, starving, desperate for work, and hoping Andrews will forgive her enough to keep her on. She’s determined to show him she’s changed, but romance is the last thing on her mind when she can’t even afford to feed herself.
Will Andrews and Emma set aside the past and give their future a chance? Find out by grabbing your copy of Dr. Andrews, a sweet romantic comedy!
This was a nice story. Enjoyed the hiccups in the main characters' relationship. Life wasn't easy on Emma, but she never complained, or felt sorry for herself. One has a lot of respect for Emma when finished reading this story and Dr Andrews is a class act all the way thru. Enjoyed Andrea's writing and descriptive styles. Looking forward to reading more of your books.
A fun, clean, second-chance romance! It's not typically my favorite romance trope, but I really liked how Pearson developed their backstory, how it influenced who they each grew up to be, and how they're better suited to each other now than they were before.
Looking forward to seeing what happens next at Alpine Hospital. <3
Book 54 of 2022 — Dr. Andrews by Andrea Kate Pearson
I received this book from the author in exchange for an honest review. Thank you, Ms. Pearson!
I did not know what to expect starting this book. I will say I was mildly concerned when I realized Dr. Andrews was a cardiologist because my husband is in cardiology. I love to ask him questions about medical scenes in fiction and watch him flip out over inconsistencies or just downright wrong information! I am happy to report there were none of these in this book, mainly because it does not focus on the medicine!
I thoroughly enjoyed this book. The characters are lovable and kind with no villain present (save the past!) A sweet redemption story that wraps up very neatly. I would definitely read other books in the series when I need something light and enjoyable after something heavier.
This was a great read by author Andrea Kate Pearson. It is the third book of hers I've read of hers and it doesn't disappoint. When lovers reunite in a supervisory workplace setting, there's no telling what could go wrong. Especially when they lost touch because she broke their engagement and ran off with another man. And while things don't start out great, they eventually work through their stuff and become friends...and then some. This is a well written romance and happily ever after, that isn't over the top, is engaging and is seriously fun to read. You won't regret picking this one up!
I received a copy of this ebook from the author, but this review contains my own thoughts and opinions.
If you want to read a clean, sweet, second-chance romance story, then this is the right book for you!
I always like the second-chance romance that was not given or guaranteed, but the kind that both of the characters earn, deserve, and worth the second-chance for! I adore the way they both hesitated to talk about their past relationship until they knew each other well (again) after being apart from ten years. Reading both of their perspectives on how they see the growth and changes (for good) from each others, and the admiration that came afterward are so endearing to read.
p.s: i love how well they're working together, especially when the nurses and patients saw it too!
Thanks to the author for the e-arc copy in exchange for an honest review!
This is a clean, second chance novella about Dr Preston Andrews who was rejected and left by his then fiancée, Emma. She returns ten years later as a student doctor in his cardiology department at Alpine Hospital. Initially he is angry and very wary but as the story progresses, his feelings warm towards her when he hears about the physical abuse she suffered at the hands of her ex husband and her struggles during the past few years. This is a heartwarming story of love a second time around between two people who never stopped loving each other. The characters were well developed and the storyline was interesting. An enjoyable read.
Please be aware that physical abuse is described in some detail.
Dr. Andrews is a stand-alone second chance medical drama. Emma and Preston had a relationship many years ago until Emma thought she could do better. She was wrong. Now she is back and Dr. Andrews is her boss. The back story is good and the main characters have grown and changed, especially Emma, but there is a lot of baggage to work through. This is well written but there is not much to keep it interesting apart from a little drama. If you want a light, clean read then this is a great book and I recommend it.
Andrews and Emma were engaged ten years ago, until she walked out of his life, with another man. Now she’s back as the student doctor in his cardiology unit. It was hard to imagine how they were together the first time, but I did love seeing them fall in love the second time. I liked the person Emma had become, and Andrews’ struggle to trust her again. There were some adorable scenes (breaking and entering and in the elevator).
Content: clean (no language, talk of violence and abuse, making out, embarrassing situations with underclothes)
Romancing Dr Andrews is a great rom com with plenty of sizzle and spark without any degrading language or explicit sex scenes. I like reading romance, but not pornography and far too many authors of romance fiction don't understand the distinction. This is a nice clean and wholesome romance with just a hint of humor thrown in to lighten the mood. Pearson is quickly becoming one of my go-to authors for the kind of romance I like to read. Please check out this book (as well as the rest of the series), you won't be disappointed.
“Romancing Dr. Andrews” by Andrea Kate Pearson A Fun 2nd Chance Romance In the author’s newsletter she asked her readers to post a review of this story. I had not read it but it was available via KU (Kindle Unlimited). So, I downloaded the story and dove in head-first. It was quite the journey. Some really rough trauma was included but as memories; which for me made them much easier to deal with. It is a good story and now I am looking forward to reading the next story in the series. Happy Reading ! ! NOTE: This review expresses my honest opinion.
I enjoy second chance love stories because I had to think there is no forgiveness and ability to try again, with the exception of abuse. Sorry, but the danger there is too great. I love the bravery Emma shows in coming back to Alpine and contact with Dr. Preston Andrews. Dr. Andrews shows great forgiveness and love to be able to open up to Emma again. I enjoyed this book and look forward to the rest of the story.
Dr. Andrews is a clean, sweet romance. It’s a quick read and lots of fun. I always enjoy enemies turned lovers book and this one adds the twist of a history between the two characters. Everything turns out exactly how I wanted it to, all tied up with a nice, happy bow. I love that the main setting is a hospital adding a medical backdrop to the story. I recommend it to anyone who enjoys clean romance and wants to read a quick, comfortable book in that genre.
This is a second chance clean romance. I found the plot intriguing and the main characters, Dr Andrews and Emma, delightful. I actually live near the city that the story was set in so that was interesting. There are some funny moments, some warm kissing scenes and a tender renewal of their relationship. There is also some cheesiness and predictability but that’s almost always to be expected. It is well written for the most part.
I enjoyed this clean book about two doctors. Emma deeply regrets leaving Andrews for another man, a decision that had drastic consequences for her. She has finally decided to come home, but she has no idea how Andrews will react to seeing her again. He is definitely unhappy about having her, but he cannot deny how much she is helping his patients and staff. Lots of funny hijinks ensue, and the two start to get close again. Can they make it this time?
Dr. Andrews is a sweet, heartwarming, second chance romance. This well written book grabbed me in the beginning and did not let go until it was finished. I enjoyed watching "Andrews" see how capable, personable and organized Emma was. He learned how much she had changed - and the horrible circumstances that had caused this change. He also figured out he still loved her. Ms. Pearson has created a charming story with the best of HEAs.
I had a free copy of this book, but this is my voluntary and honest opinion. Dr. Preston Andrews is becoming successful, but getting behind in seeing patients, so his boss Dr. Harrison hires a student doctor to help out. Much to his surprise, the Dr. turns out to be Emma Thomas who was his fiancé years ago and left him for another man. The plot features issues of trust, rekindled love, and forgiveness. I’d recommend reading this book.
I liked that their experiences changed them and they were better suited for each other than they were 10 years before. It wasn't terribly exciting(except for the lock picking, catch him in his underwear part), but it wasn't boring either. Id read the next book in the series. I liked that it was clean.
This was a quick read for me that was hard for me to put down and stayed up to late so I could see what happens next. Emma deeply regrets ending her engagement to Dr andrews so she could be with another man. her ex husband was abusive to her.I recived this book from the author in exchange for an honest review.
This sweet clean romance is a great second chance story. Dr. Andrews and Emma reconnect when she is hired as the new medical student working under his supervision. At first, Andrews is furious at having to work with Emma but after much angst, he realizes that people really can change. I love the explanation at the end of the book explaining how this story shares components with her own past.
Dr. Preston Andrews has just been informed that he is going to have a medical student working for him in Cardiology. He is fine with that until... The medical student walks in his office to find out when the first day is. Preston looks up and cannot believe his eyes. Cute and easy read. Really fast-paced. Read in one sitting.
A young student MD moves to Colorado from New York where she finds her first fiancé. Many ups and downs later, love is rekindled. Dr Andrews is worth coming back to. A great story! I received this book from the author for my honest opinion.
Interesting story line...Dr. Emma finds herself back in her home town working under her ex-fiance. It's a story of how life changes people and of second chances.
I love the author's style of writing and development of characters. It's a great book to curl up with and enjoy!
Andrews and Emma’s story. An unkind Emma returns to her hometown ready to work and ask forgiveness regarding her previous behavior. Andrews is at first unwilling to see the growth and changes in her. An almost tragedy and a HEA made this story a delight to read.
I enjoyed this clean second chance medical romance! The characters are real and relatable as they overcome their struggles. I can't wait to see what comes next in this series!
*triggers - abuse is mentioned in the past tense
I received an ARC from the author and all opinions are my own.
This was a really sweet romance! The characters and setting really draw you in! I felt a real emotional connection to Emma and the trials she had to go through and the chemistry between her and Andrews was perfect!
This was a fun book with well-written characters! I enjoyed learning about Emma and Andrews' history and watching them reconnect and strengthen their new relationship. I'm looking forward to reading more from this author.
This book was very Good!! I definitely can't wait to read the rest of this series I have already recommended this to Family and Friends so if your reading this I include you in the recommendation😊Happy Reading!!
I enjoyed this story of reconnection. I was surprised at the past domestic violence and the details of it especially when it caused miscarriage. I was not expecting that dark of material to be mentioned in a "sweet rom com" so trigger warning if anyone sees this.
