I am a caged beast, bred for war. My captors force me to fight for my life, day in, day out, to hone my skills. Pain, war and death are all I know.
And then Amy’s dropped into my cell. The most beautiful creature I have ever seen. Long dark hair, big eyes, and a curvy body I want to sink my fangs into.
My captors tell me I must mate with the human female and impregnate her within the next seven days — or they will kill her.
There is nothing I would like to do more than to sate my urges and release myself inside this female, but there’s one She is terrified of me.
I cannot and will not mate with a female against their will.
But, I cannot let my captors kill her either.
Every second she is my presence, my animalistic urges grow harder and harder to resist, but I am determined to prove that, despite everything, I am no animal.
If I can convince Amy to come to me willingly, then perhaps I can save her — and myself…
Gawd, I loved this cover and I wanted this to be so good. But it was another one of those alien books where the alien is basically a human with different color skin. He did also have horns and a tail but they weren't really mentioned. He acted and talked normal and knew what she was talking about even though he was supposedly made in a tube. We're also told he's packing a baby baseball bat, nothing alien about it except the color, and when they final seal the deal it slides in and fits perfectly.
Everything was contradictions. They also were able to save themselves from an army and the galactic overlords, you know, through their love and her moxie. If you couldn't pick up the scathing sarcasm in that sentence let me throw in a Please, let the aliens be 'alien'. Why bother if you're only going to give me a human with different features. Let him do weird stuff, have a weird peen (or two), have weird instinctual behaviors, that's what makes it entertaining.
An exciting plot with a cool heroine, but it falls off just after the midpoint. I wish I could give it 3.5 stars, the first half deserved a better second half, but I don't want to mislead anyone on how much the quality fell off after a great start, so I curved it lower. The main plot of the story is interesting but about two-thirds in it starts to unravel fast. It began strong and solid with a lot of excitement written into it, but after the middle, the characters developed skills and a weird level of resourcefulness that wasn't supported by what we were given about their backgrounds. It could have benefitted from the help of a developmental editor. Lucifer begins as a beast with few skills and doesn't speak, but then all of a sudden, he does, and no one is surprised by it. There are so many more examples of contrived heroic instant intelligence to share but I won't spoil the story, and without giving anything away, I'll leave it there, but honestly, unless her drippy cat has special intelligence granting powers, there's just no way. Overall, the story started out strong but wrapped up too conveniently and quickly to be believable, as if the author just needed to wrap it up and threw whatever would stick together loosely. It was definitely mostly fun to read though, and I'll look for more in this series, but hopefully, the author will either hire a better editor or take more time to self-edit.
Yes please! I love that its slightly dark but has all the humour and cute happily ever after vibes (& sexy times) of the original dohan warriors series (this is the same universe and the main dude is part dohan) A perfect mix of sweet & spicy!
I’ve liked every book this author has written and this one is no different and most enjoyable. Amy Miller is a reporter and wants to do something better than wedding stuff so she approaches her boss about 13 missing woman that went to do a pharmaceutical trial and was never seen again, but her boss Batak is not interested and fires her on the spot. Angry at him she decides to join the trial and find out what happened to all the women and now finds herself deep in trouble. Half-breed has only ever know violence that’s what he was made for to be the perfect weapon and he is the best so far out of all the subjects made in the labs, so now they want him to breed with human females so they can have the babies to make more of him but he is not interested in any of them and then they finally realizes why its not working with the females because it has to be his mate it’s in his DNA. Enter Amy she is dropped right in the middle of a big red monster tearing apart other animals or she thinks there animals and when he looks at her the scientist know she is the one for him. The red monster picks her up and try’s to leave the room with her and soon they are going to his room and all the time she wondering when he will eat her. But when he places her on the furs he tells her she will be ok and he will never hurt her but will protect her forever, she believes him and wants to learn more about him and now she is feeling safe with him she gives him a name. There is so much more to the story but I must stop I given away to much now. With some grammar errors throughout doesn’t take away from now good of a book it was.
2.5/5 stars! After months of not reading for myself and not really having the urge, I finally picked up a short and sweet sci-fi romance - which is usually one of the foolproof genres guaranteed to bring me out of a long slump because they are usually good fun and lighthearted cuteness with good smut thrown in. This was no exception. It lifted my mood and broke my slump but it didn't really blow me away. As an avid reader of the genre, I have many favourites and this just didn't really compare to them. But this was by no means bad. The romance was cute, the smut was decent, the writing was on the slightly more juvenile side but nothing terrible and there was even some funny moments. I felt the characterisation was a little stinted and the world building could have been expanded upon, but I can't complain for a nice short little 130 or so page novella. So that's why it's a solid 2.5 for me. Nothing bad but also nothing outstanding. Just a straight down the middle.
This has an interesting premise, but had execution . The half breed, who has to pretend to be an idiot so his captors don't realize how intelligent he really is, has no problem being eloquent with his mate. Also for someone who knows nothing about women having never had the urge before, he seems to be really experienced sexually. I have a problem when people say sexy books are just porn, but that's what this feels like, very bad porn. I would have stuck it out of he had been more convincing and she was less annoying, but once they were out in the same room, the premise which has drew me in disappeared. Also there was a lot of missed punctuation and other grammar issues and the paragraphs seemed to be spaced more apart than I am used to, making me think it was to make the book seem longer than it is. So overall, no.
It's so good to be back in Luna's Sci-Fi world. This is a story that ties in with some of her other stories, but is a complete stand alone. You do get to see a couple of characters from some other stories, but it isn't necessary to read anything else before reading this one (although I do recommend it). I do hope that we will have more stories like this that will tie some of the other books and events together.
Amy knows that woman have been disappearing after signing up for clinical trials. She goes in to bust the story wide open, only when is thrown into a cage with a male that looks like the devil. There a re a lot of ups and downs, it realigned verily emotional for me. There is violence and a lot of steam. The conquerer is all Alpha and very hot!
If you’re looking for a book to just take your mind off things with a decent plot and lots of spice, this is it. It’s short enough to read in a few hours. It is a slow burn but when it does get to the heated part it is a bit graphic. Overall for what this book is a sci-fi adult romance fantasy, it’s pretty good.
What can I say about this book I am going to give this book a five star because the story is awesome that being said the story , it was a hot mess but it was well worth reading.
This is my first read from this author and I was quite impressed. It was a book full of romance, erotic scenes and lots of actions. I will definitely be reading more from this author!
Omg, I want a Lucifer of my own. He is growly and possessive and dominant! A fierce protector for the woman thrown into his world. I loved the heat in this story.
2.5 star. This story was inconsistent and lacked discriptions of people and places. It's difficult to imagine something when you're not given a lot of information to go on. And how can Lucifer know so much about the world when he has only ever been in a cage?
A book about abdution by aliens is nothing new but Luna Hunter brilliantly creates characters with such deph, the storyline is very good and the sexy scenes are.....hufff... Definitly a must read .
I really loved this book. The main male character is a good reminder to never judge a book by its cover. Despite everything he had been through he was honorable. He had an unwavering desire to protect the female main character.
I thoroughly enjoyed reading this book and can't wait to read more. I'm hoping that Luc & Amy's story continues too. Although this series looks like it will be fun to read. Thanks Luna, I'm looking forward to reading more.
I reeaaaaalllly really liked this book!!!!!! Spicy but sweet, the characters were great, the story and the plot were believable and interesting. Looking forward to reading more from this author!
Good FMC , funny, strong willed reporter . some plot holes but overall a fun quick read The MMC is a lab grown fighting machine who knows way to much about life outside the lab .
