Charley is sick and tired of going from one failed relationship to the next. After breaking up with Rodney, the last loser she dated, she begins to lose all hope in finding the man of her dreams…Until she meets Curtiss. Curtiss is the epitome of an alpha boss with swag for days. He is smart, successful, can build beautiful homes with his bare hands, handsome and the ladies love him. It’s no wonder Charley believes she has finally found the perfect man. Until she realizes that everything that glitters isn’t always made of gold. When Curtiss’ true self comes to light, lines get blurred, boundaries get crossed, and Charley finds herself in the toughest fight for her life, literally. With the support of her two best friends and new friend, she has everything she needs to get away from Curtiss, but will she have the strength to go? Will she leave before it’s too late or does she take another gamble with her life, at trying to make things work?
I'm so happy Curtis was murdered! Wish I could have murdered him my damn self 😈 Ladies if you in a domestic abuse relationshit get help and get out. The help is out there. Stop letting these men convince you you're nothing without him. If anything, you more better off without him. Love not suppose to hurt. I was 17 going through it. Shouldn't have even been in a relationshit in the first place but I got out because I had his daughter. I told myself if he hurt me he go eventually hurt my kid. Baby I ran out that door and never looked back ✌🏿
If reading this book doesn't motivate anyone to flee an abuser by any means, I don't know what will. Of course, Curtiss' behavior was learned, yet it amazed me how he always saw himself as the victim. My favorite scene was the appointment Curtiss had with his attorney. What truth was spoken. For a moment I feared an attack on the attorney, but then realized Curtiss is a coward so he only battles 'the weaker sex'. This book had quite a few errors and the flow wasn't as smooth as I would have liked. Don't let that stop you, this is a decent read.
This book was wild. I can't believe that this is how it all turned out. It was definitely full of drama and twists and turns. I give this book five stars and recommend it to others.
