Reeba Mitchell is a barista by day, burlesque dancer by night. Strong, sassy, determined and focused on success the last thing she needs is an interfering man. She definitely doesn’t need one like Ryder, the sexy, mysterious man who kidnaps her in the interests of keeping her safe. It isn’t the most conventional way to start a relationship, but when Reeba can’t deny how hot Ryder makes her feel, especially bound by his ropes, and when Ryder can’t get enough of the blue haired beauty, then it seems nothing can stand in their way. Even knowing someone is out to get Reeba can’t dampen the passion between this pair.
Scorching chemistry and burning desires abound between this pair, with neither able to slow their headlong rush into fiery, passionate encounters. Whilst Reeba seems to be the target of assailants unknown, Ryder’s plan to keep her safe is endangering her future in other ways and the chance to make it big is rapidly disappearing over the horizon. Can Ryder keep her safe? Can Reeba forgive him if her one shot at success is destroyed?
Nicolina Martin has created a story of a strong heroine and an even stronger alpha male who is determined to not only keep her safe but to claim her for his very own. Restraining Reeba - 4 Stars
This is the first book in the West Coast Doms series that I’ve read although not the first book by this author. Ryder and Reeba’s story is full of suspense, danger, and heat. Even though I’ve jumped in at book 4 I didn’t feel like I was really missing out on stuff although it does make me want to go back and read the series in order. Luckily I’ve already got Commanding Casey on my kindle!!

Another titillating book involving mystery, intrigue, elements of BDSM, and smoking hot scenes. This book has an interracial couple, Reeba is African-American and Ryder is the past military now security specialist white man. There is an age gap between them. Ryder is a professed bachelor who gets tamed by Reeba and her professional dance talent. Ryder lost the love of his life in war. He couldn't take another chance on love. He realizes how much Reeba means to him when they are forced to be apart.

We’ve been waiting for a while to read a new book from Nicolina Martin and now we have one, definitely worth the wait. This next volume in her West Coast Dom’s Series is a thoroughly entertaining read. Reeba Mitchell was introduced as a very minor character in the previous story Saving Sandra together with Ryder Daniels a former colleague of Samuel, who actually ‘saved Sandra’
Reeba Mitchell is an incredibly talented singer/dancer who has a burlesque show which she performs with her troop of dancers at a night club called Ringleader. Reeba, her troop and the club are going to be the subject of Documentary Movie which Sandra Hooper (now Anderson) is shooting and the story begins with the launch of the show at Ringleader. Reeba has 10% interest in the club and hopes to be in a position to acquire more after release of the movie. Ryder has attended the show launch as a guest of Samuel and Sandra.
Reeba has been experiencing all sorts of weird and not so wonderful accidents and slip ups recently including receiving a nasty bite on her hand from a black widow spider which has taken residence in her handbag. After the launch show Reeba tells all the gathered friends about the various occurrences including the spider bite and Ryder, who is mesmerised by Reeba and Samuel are not convinced that these are all coincidences. They try to convince Reeba to allow them to arrange protection for her but she isn’t convinced and insists on riding her bicycle home alone in the dark. Luckily Ryder decides to follow and therefore is witness to a deliberate attempt to run her over and able to fish her out of the canal where she is knocked. At this point Ryder makes a conscious decision to take Reeba into safe keeping where no one can find her.
The real story begins here, how will Reeba respond to being tied up and ‘taken’ for her own safety?how will Ryder keep her safe? who is responsible for Reeba’s problems? You really need to read it, no spoilers here but this is a fabulous read. The two main characters have chemistry which is off the charts, the surrounding characters are interesting, well rounded and likeable. The plot twists are clever and the chemistry is hot and erotic and there are even some laugh out loud scenes. I really loved this bok, as always Nicolina delivered. Waiting impatiently for the next volume in this incredibly absorbing series.

Much awaited read, extremely enjoyable great characters and storyline….
I cannot begin to explain how very much I have been looking forward to the release of this fourth book in the series so that I can read and review its contents and I was not disappointed, it was what I had hoped and so much more!
Reeba Mitchell previously introduced in past book is on this occasion a major character from the off and she is already known as being a brave individual that will put herself out there to help others in need even when there is a risk to her own personal being. She is an excellent entertainer at a club where she dances and sings and putting on some extremely colourful and complex burlesque style shows which have gone down a storm.
Reeba has noticed recently that there have been a good deal of accidents happening with her performance which do not make sense as she is always extremely careful ensuring every think is safe two or three times over. Reeba and Ryder have been getting to know each other and after she tells him about some of the strange incidents that have been happening on the set he suggests that she should consider protection as things just are not adding up.
After Ryder actually decides to follow Reeba without her being aware and is witness to a deliberate attempt to kill her and knows for sure that someone is definitely out to kill or at least injure her badly. His instant need to keep Reeba safe kicks and he will do whatever it takes to do this and also to catch the culprit that is trying to injure his girl, come hell or high water he won’t fail he will have them up for their attacks on his girl.
The interaction between the two main characters is absolutely wonderful and I promise you that once you begin reading this book you won’t be able to put it down until you reach the end.
I assure you that you will love every moment of this book it is simply a fantastic read.

I had to give this book 5 stars. It hit all my buttons. I love a story that grabs me right from the beginning. And this one wouldn't let me put it down. I started one night and finished it the next. I think this is my favorite of the West Coast Doms series. I loved the dialog and the chemistry between Ryder and Reeba a lot. And when I say chemistry, I mean hot, steamy, sizzling chemistry.
Reeba is a very strong and determined woman, which I love. She knows what she wants to do with her life and success as a dancer is her goal. But she also has a thirst for something more. Something exciting. "For things, she's never seen before". Ryder, on the other hand, is quite comfortable living on his boat with his dog and is happy with a beer and reading a book on his days when he's not working. Working? He works in security which is...."complicated". The one job he has during this story is working for the Russo family. And if you've read any other books by Nicolina then you know who they are. I loved that Salvatore and Eric both showed up in this story. Along with a few other people from past stories. And of course, Samuel and Sandra play quite a role in this story.
The story itself was exciting with so many twists and turns. I was never quite sure where it was going to go. Which is another thing I love in a story. I wasn't expecting the intrigue. It took me by surprise. But it fits perfectly into the story.

This was the first story that I've read in this series and I really enjoyed it. I liked the characters almost immediately and I even was drawn to the secondary characters as well. Ryder and Reeba had an adventurous story that ended in a HEA that was fitting. Their intimate scenes were steamy and I went through a lot of anticipation wondering who was after Reeba and if they would eventually get to her. I met some of the secondary characters who have already had their stories and I have to go back and read them as well to find out what happened with their stories as well. This was a new author for me and I will definitely be checking out her other stories now that I've read this one!

Loved Reeba and Ryder, as awkward as the situation was with him trying to protect her and her pushing back constantly there was no denying the chemistry between these two. Reeba is an aspiring dancer that is in danger and Ryder has made himself her knight in shining armor and with the aid of his army buddies they must find out who is targeting her. Great dialogue, steamy sex scenes. I highly recommend this book you will not be disappointed.

This suspenseful, erotic read ticked all the boxes for me with an interesting storyline and engaging characters. This is my first time reading Ms Martin’s work and it won’t be the last.

Reeba and Ryder have a story full of suspense, angst, danger, heat and romance. I loved the dynamic and interactions between the couple. This is the fourth book in the West Coast Doms series and is a great standalone addition. Reeba and Ryder both are sexy and likable characters.

I was so excited to get my hands on the new book in this series. I did not want to put it down, and I am happy I didn't have to. I could picture Reeba with her blue twists and her banging body-her temple. Ryder didn't know what hit him when he saw her. I like how he is not afraid to go back into the dark and fight for his girl. The ending leaves a smile on your face with anticipation for Reeba and Ryder's future. I hope there is a story for Liam and Felix.

This is my favourite West Coast Doms book yet, it was hot, has great characters, had a really good story. All the previous characters made an appearance and Sam and Sandra were catalysts for Reeba’s success and Rita was so helpful to Ryder
Felix is a great character and I am looking forward to his book. The mafia were not as evil as usual and Eric even made me laugh. Ryder and Reeba were so good together and their chemistry was off the charts. Great read I thoroughly enjoyed it.

I don't always like Nicolina Martin's heroes from the beginning of the book, but I really did when it came to Ryder. There is just something that is really vulnerable about him. It makes him really likable, no matter what he's doing.
Reeba is really strong, and I like her. I think that she may be a little headstrong at times, but I really like her character.

Ryder will have to visit some dark places inside himself to save the woman he loves and Reeba will have to learn to trust him.

Nicolina Martin has another sensual, suspenseful thriller with Restraining Reeba, this story will have you on edge from beginning to end with all of the emotional and unexpected series of events that takes place throughout this story.
Reeba Mitchell, is a talented, feisty burlesque star who is working with Sandra on a documentry that could change her life if this project takes off, she is also part owner of the club she works at. Ryder Daniels, broody, sexy alpha man who is still fighting demons from his past agrees to meet Samuel and Sandra at the club only to be drawn to sexy Reeba and will find he is about to have his world turned upside down. Love how characters from previous books are integrated into this storyline. The interaction between Ryder and Reeba is full of banter, wit and sexual tension, but Reeba will not give into Ryder's advances until her life ends up being in danger when all of her accidents are revealed. 'Restraining Reeba' is Nicolina Martin's fourth book in her "West Coast Doms" series and there is no shortage of intrigue, danger, or panty-melting chemistry within these pages. You see, Sam had called Ryder and asked him to meet him at what used to be a strip club for two reasons: 1. to warn Ryder about a civilian job he had taken with the mob and offer his assistance should he need it, and 2. plant a seed in Ryder's mind about becoming an investor in the club. Ryder, being a very strong Alpha male, didn't feel he needed either piece of information since he has gotten used to secluding himself after coming out of the military. Dealing with those memories and nightmares was more than enough without adding the stress of socializing to it. What he didn't expect was to be immediately captivated, intrigued, and a bit turned on by a burlesque dancer there named Reeba. He thought he had locked all those emotions down with everything else but Reeba is smart, witty, sexy, and knows what she wants. Unfortunately, she doesn't take well to being told what to do. She just got out of a bad relationship with the man who owns 90% of the club and has no intentions of getting into another relationship right now. Besides, she has enough to deal with while making the documentary with her dancers and what seems like a never-ending string of bad luck that continues to plague her. Neither Sam nor Ryder believes these are coincidences at all but rather someone trying to kill her. Nicolina Martin has created a storyline with strong characters, an alpha male who is determined to keep the heroine safe, even if it's from herself while fighting the demons from his past. The plethora of emotions this story invoked kept me turning pages even at times when my heart broke. Oh, but don't think it's all sad memories and tears because these two have surely steamed up my kindle and kept my heart racing. I just loved this one!

Danger, chemistry, suspense, excitement and love that is what you can expect with reading this series. Reeba is feisty, sassy, a little bratty at times working a barista and doing her true love of burlesque dancing at night with success as her main goal so she isn’t allowing any distractions or so she thinks until she is taken. Ryder sexy as all get out kidnapper who takes the little barista to keep her safe, yet not revealing much about himself and, yeah, he see her beauty wanting more. So, what happens when they are throw together by his actions forcing her to slow down pretty much, getting to know each other and learning there is more to one another. There is someone out to get her and Ryder has found his one isn’t going to allow one blue hair on her head to harmed but the chemistry is so off the charts t will ensure you keep turning the pages just to see who is after her, why they are after her, and will he protect her?

What an amazing book! I absolutely loved Ryder and Reeba's story. We first met Reeba briefly in "Saving Sandra" when she helps Sandra escape the paparazzi.
Reeba is a one woman show, a talented singer and dancer determined to make it on her own. She is also gorgeous and a kind person to boot. No wonder Ryder falls for her after meeting her for the first time. Ryder is former special ops mercinery. He is dangerous, deadly and unbelievably hot. Someone is trying to hurt Reeba, but he won't let it happen under his watch, even if he has to result to kidnapping her in order to keep her safe! Even though Reeba is totally freaked out at first, finding herself all tied up and at Ryder's mercy, she is undeniably attracted to him and feels safe and cared for while in his hands.
After starting reading "Restraining Reeba", it was very hard to stop reading it in order to deal with boring day to day chores like work! The story sucked me in and couldn't wait to find out how it would end. It has many twists and turns that kept me on the edge of my seat. The chemistry between Ryder and Reeba jumps off the pages and the sex scenes are hot with a capital H.
It was great meeting Sandra and Samuel again and I can't wait for Felix (and hopefully Liam's) stories to come. I really got a kick of the connection to the Russo family. I hope we get to see Eric and Anna again in Felix's story.
All in all, this is one awesome book that was worth the wait!

This is the fourth book in the West Coast Doms series and can be read as a stand-alone. Reeba Mitchell works as a barista for her family’s chain of coffee shops. But in the evenings, she is a burlesque dancer-choreographer, who is having a string of bad luck. Good thing Ryder notices, and doesn’t believe in coincidences! He learns that trying to keep an independent woman safe is a near impossible task, so kidnapping her is the best option, right? And definitely restraining her so she can’t get away—if only he can keep his hands off her! I’m surprised his boat didn’t catch fire, those two are combustible together. I liked Reeba because she’s not really naive about her safety-she knows she has a chance to succeed in business due to Sandra Hooper (Saving Sandra). She’s more in denial and willing to take a risk because the other option—the family business—is not appealing to the blue-haired dancer. I loved the way Ryder slowly, so slowly thawed. No one was coming between him & his girl! Really enjoyed the plot, and revisiting secondary characters from this series, as well as the Russo Saga.

This is the first book I've read by this author and it was a great introduction to her writing style and her world of characters. Ryder and Reeba have a connection from the first moment they meet, so the chemistry between them doesn't surprise. Yet it is always fun to see how a really strong woman and an equally strong, alpha male interact, make compromises - or not - and work towards becoming a couple. Add in drama, danger and intrigue along with death threats and surprising twists and turns and you have a page-turner that will keep you glued from the first to the last page.
Even though it is book 4 in the West Coast Doms series, I can vouch for the fact that is can easily be read and enjoyed as a stand-alone. But with characters from previous books in this series as well as from another making appearances and adding to the depth of the story, I'm betting you will want to know more about them as I do. I've alreading got Commanding Casey on my kindle and look forward to the next book in this series!

Ryder sees a young woman when he stops by a club to see his old marine buddy, Samuel...there is a sensuous woman onstage, dancing as if she were boneless and her voice was angelic...for the first time in over two years, he saw a woman he had to get to know better,,,but she is a flirt, with blue hair, and easy smile and is determined to make a documentary that will showcase her talents,...but she keeps having accidents, like car almost hit her on way to club, a spider bite that left her hand swollen, her bout of food poisoning, her locker broken into, and more. Being ex-military and an IT and security expert, Ryder looks into her and discovers she's being followed...but Reeba doesn't believe she's in danger and almost gets killed when she's cycling home...luckily he's trailing her, rescues her and then as Reeba is uncooperative, zip ties her and takes her to his boat...so technically he kidnapped her....but will Ryder be able to let her go once the danger is over??? I voluntarily read this story as an Advanced Reader copy...

Reeba is a very interesting character. She is well-rounded, self sufficient and not interested in a relationship. She resists the pull she feels towards Ryder as hard as she can, but the broken man won't stay out of her way. Her life is in danger, and Ryder takes her safety into his own hands. Every time he gives in and lets her go, she ends up running back to him, until she has to admit she loves him, and cannot let him go. Their HEA is powerful. He puts everything he has into her, chasing his demons back into the darkness, while he steps into the light. Reeba is his light.
Frequently love stories are about two characters with a lot of baggage. Reeba is no shrinking violet. She exudes power in her way, just as Ryder radiates his own. Loving this West Coast Doms series from Nicolina. Reeba is a strong, sassy heroine who meets her match in Ryder! Loved the characters - Reeba is so vivacious and springs out of the pages at you, whilst Ryder gives off all the alpha male feels. Great chemistry between the two and some sizzling hot sexy scenes. There’s also plenty of suspense as Reeba gets into trouble and Ryder dips back into the darker side of life to come to her rescue….I loved seeing these two battle with their feelings, life experiences and expectations as they work through their relationship. The supporting characters were also fab - also good to see “old favourites” from previous books make an appearance. Great dialogue keeps you turning the pages right til the very end. You can read this as a stand-alone, but why would you deny yourself the pleasure of the other two books in the series I say!

A sensual and dangerous delight. This story contains a tremendous amount of drama, eroticism, and intrigue.
I love a strong demanding sexy alpha that doesn’t waffle and a character that isn't compromised when he falls for his lady. Ryder is all male with the virility and prowess of a lion and his character stays true from start to finish.
I also enjoy a female that can give as good as she gets and Reeba is totally that woman. She is strong and confident, but she also knows what she likes and how to submit to those pleasures.
The chemistry between the two is electric. The storyline a slow build, but dramatic and suspenseful to engross the reader’s attention and curiosity. Overall I enjoyed Ryder and Reeba’s tale and look forward to reading her backlist in the West Coast Dom’s series.

I expected the tart but this book is unexpectedly sweet. Ryder is a man with a dark past. When he sees Reeba dance and sing he knows she is special but he has sworn off commitments. But when she is being stalked by danger, he steps in and helps. Kidnapping is helping, right? This book is a part of a series but can be read as a standalone. I am hoping the other books are as entertaining. This book contains elements of power exchange. Ryder is a gentleman most of the time😂

Loved this action packed book! This is the second West Coast Doms book that I've read - and I enjoyed it much more than Commanding Casey. Ryder is ex-military with baggage who falls for Reeba even though he tries to resist those feelings. When he finds out that Reeba has had a lot of mishaps in the past few weeks - he gets suspicious and decides to keep an eye on her. Which results in Ryder keeping her on his boat. Lots of steam & action in this book. Couldn't put it down!

After meeting not only Reeba,but Ryder as well, in Saving Sandra,i knew i wanted to find out if there was a connection between these two very different people.
And boy was there ever!
These two were so hot together,they nearly burnt down the boat they were on!
All Reeba ever wanted was to sing and dance,and Sandra is giving her the push she needed.
Making a documentary about what she does,what her goals are,will give her the exposure she needs to get her name out there.
Only,it has an unwanted side-effect….one she dismisses as “accidents” at first.
But once added up together,it sounds very much like someone has it in for her!
Samuel and his friend Ryder,a delicious male specimen she can’t keep her eyes off,are convinced about it.
Ryder decides to take action when the latest attempt ends with her nearly being run over by a van and ending up in the water.
Kidnapping her,though??
That’s taking keeping her safe a little tóó far,she has things to do that can’t wait!
But he’s not letting her go thát easy…..and maybe,very maybe,she likes how he keeps her safe…..

When a book’s blurb tells me that although it’s part of a series, it can be read as a standalone, I consider that a challenge. Despite having the West Coast Doms’ first book (Commanding Casey) waiting on my Kindle, I figured I’d test the theory and jump straight in with Restraining Reeba (book 4).
Challenge fulfilled. Yes, characters from the previous books play supporting roles, but never once did I feel like I needed to know more about them than Restraining Reeba told me. Well done, Ms Martin.
Now, let’s talk kink. There were three elements that originally drew me to want to read Restraining Reeba; the first is right there in the title. Second is the series name, West Coast Doms. The third was Nicolina Martin’s note that the “series contains heavy elements of power exchange”. Sounds good, right?
Not so much. While I can’t speak for the rest of the series, I didn’t find Restraining Reeba to contain heavy elements of power exchange. Yes, there were a few rope scenes and Ryder and Reeba definitely fall into some sort of D/s dynamic but it’s never explicitly discussed as such and the non-kinky in the library may not even pick up on a lot of the elements written into the story. I would say that while there are kinky parts, this isn’t a kinky book (not like books from the likes of Cherise Sinclair and Sierra Cartwright). It’s a regular romance with kinky elements.
Amazon's listing has Restraining Reeba in the multicultural romance category. It’s a tag I find interesting in relation to this book as, although Reeba is a black woman, very little is said about this aspect of her character beyond comments about her hair and how it behaves. If I’m honest I think this is either a mistake on Amazon’s part or a selling tact on the part of the author. Reeba could very easily be turned into Rebecca, Renata or Rafaella and it wouldn’t make a difference to the storyline.
None of these comments, however, tell you what I really thought of Restraining Reeba. In all honesty, I found it didn’t captivate me. It was an interesting storyline but slow-paced and the crafting of the characters didn’t make me feel invested enough in the outcome. It did pick up a little around the 75% mark but not enough to dramatically change my opinion.

This is the 4th book in the West Coast Doms series featuring Ryder and Reeba's story. Ryder is a man who because of his dark past avoids commitments but he knew that there was something special about Reeba when he saw her sing and dance. When he finds out that she's in danger he steps in to help in his own alpha way. Their story is steamy, sexy and exciting it will pull you in just like it pulled me in. I highly recommend reading this and I'm looking forward to the next book in this sexy series.
