Alma Venus Shifter Brides #0.5

Tribute to the Alpha

Rate this book
The war between humans and shapeshifters must end. There has been too much bloodshed, and it’s time for the factions to sign a peace treaty. But there is one man, one wolf warrior, who does not want peace. Not even when humans would be forced to provide shifters with brides to bear them heirs. Ruarc Bloodmoon is not interested in a willing human bride. All he wants is power.

Alma is the only daughter of the future representative of the human faction, and she is ready to sacrifice herself to keep her loved ones safe. Ruarc will listen to no one and negotiate with no one, but maybe he will, if she offers herself to him. If she becomes the first shifter bride in history, maybe he will finally see that peace is the only way for humans and shifters to move forward.

Note from the author: This is a prequel to the Alma Venus Shifter-Brides series, which currently has four completed novels and various bonus novellas available on Amazon. The series is complete, and ready for you to devour.

Yeaaaah, NO.

Ladies and gentlepeople, your romantic hero:

"We can just kill your men to the last one, until only boys are left to protect you. You’d surrender then, and we’d enslave all the females. We need child-bearers, after all.”

That is his total attitude until has a sudden and inexplicable 180° attitude change at 70% for no reason at all. NONE. He then became loving and kind—a completely different character. Who need consistency?

Then the story ended with the human bride suggesting they set up a boarding school to train future girls to be shifter brides, so that alphas can BUY THEM.

No, this is so much NO for me.

wow, amazing

I absolutely loved reading a story about shifter’s and humans. It was a brilliant view point and love. I have never read a story totally from a different view point. Up until today I have always read stories about wolf’s and humans falling in love and the clan’s and pack’s living happily ever after.
I got pulled in straight away as it was a unique perspective, the story due in in to a wonderful and exciting story but the story was wonderfully knew and prepared one too begin reading about the Alma Venus shifter brides.
It is funny because I had read a book about the Alma Venus brides, but I did not know how it began.
Therefore, if you would like to read a story how the Alma Venus shifter brides began, I recommend reading this story first and then follow reading the rest of the stories. It is a wonderfully exciting story and it creates a wonderful story about two knew characters who are pulled in too each other’s lives without understanding each other’s history, culture and that they can accept each each other’s lives and love 💕 each other and start a ground breaking stories about each faction , I.e foxes, dragon’s, wolves and how each bride is selected .
Wonderful love story and very uiniqe story line.

There has been a war between shifters and humans and now, finally, after so much bloodshed there are peace talks in progress but the shifter's are not exactly pro-peace because whilst the humans have the numbers the shifters have the strength, speed and healing which makes them an enemy that is incredibly hard to beat.Alma's father is the human delegate at the peace talks and she comes up with a plan that may just be the answer to getting everyone to the table and she volunteers to be the first woman given to the shifters. She offers herself to Ruarc Bloodmoon. He is not entirely sure about the plan but takes her. His people are not pleased by having a human in their midst and her reception is less than warm. I really enjoyed the characters and the story, whilst quite dark, is a really beautiful love story but more than that it is a story of an opportunity for peace and unity that has been a long time coming but is far from certain.

It seems the Alma Venus Shifter-Brides series will have shifters for every taste, wolves, dragons, foxes, and more. The shifter world is at war with the humans and the humans are losing. But, they have something the shifters need, fertile women. So are part of the peace treaty being negotiated, the shifters want some breeding aged women to perpetuate their species. Alma's father is a negotiator for the humans and Ruarc Bloodmoon is a wolf shifter warrior who isn't convinced to make peace. When Alma offers herself as his bride, Ruarc accepts, but docent really know what to do with this frail, weak human. After a dubious start, he comes to appreciate his little human bride. The story is fast paced, interesting, with a little steam.

Bride of the Beast

This book has been in my TBR list for some time, and I’m glad that I was finally able to read it. Ruarc and Alma clash from the minute that they meet. He is a wolf clan leader causing complications, in the treaty for peace among shifters and humans. Alma offers herself as a bride for him. She goes to live at his castle, but is treated badly by members of the clan. A dangerous incident occurs to Alma, and this brings out the true feelings of Ruarc. They admit their feelings for each other, and a mating ritual is planned, with a great outcome, and an HEA.
This author is a new-to-me-author, but her writings was good with good characters, and interesting twist in the story.

It's time for the war to end, and negotiating peace is never easy. Five shifter faction and the human faction are trying to come up with ways to make everyone happy, but it's not easy going. Alma is the daughter of a human noble on the council and she makes a suggestion to her father. She is brave and has a plan. Ruarc Bloodmoon is a war hero according to his faction, but didn't want to be on the council. Ruarc takes Alma as his bride, but isn't convinced her plan has any merit. I loved that Alma wasn't backing down to her father, and she even held her own most of the time with the wolves. It's a rocky start, and I would love to see more of their story!

This is a great short story, it can be read within two hours or so if you are a fast reader. So this is a prequel the the series to which I have not read but now I really want to. So here we have a war going on with several shifter factions and the humans. There is a council that is trying to end the war and start having peace. There is one problem. One shifter faction is not wanting to concede. Well Alma wants to meet Ruarc and see if maybe she can change his mind. Now this could go bad or good. Which way that will be, you will need to read it to find out. You will really enjoy this short read.

Sacrificed for Peace . . .

With the shifter world battling with the humans, the Council wants a peace treaty in place. Shifters need women who can bear their children, and this could be a point of negotiation. But the wolf shifter warrior Ruarc Bloodmoon is not convinced that this will work. Alma, the human daughter of one of the negotiators for peace, offers herself to Ruarc as his bride to prove this could be the answer. Will her strong spirit win him over? Will she become the first shifter bride and pave the way for others? Or will the wolves make her sorry she ever showed up at the castle?

It could be love

Tribute to the Alpha is the prequel to the series Alma Venus Shifter-Brides by author Cara Wylde. Intense- intriguing and incredibly entertaining. This fast pace read sets the pace for all the books to come in this series. Believe me it will be a captivating one.
In this tale you’ll meet the Wolf fraction- they are arrogant, brutish and definitely hit as h...- you’ll meet the brave, sassy and determined human female that’s will to put everything on the line for peace.
Enjoy!!

War between humans and shifters is brewing, shifters need human brides to bear their children since she wolves don't, and their numbers are dwindling. Shifters look down on humans and therefore feel they can just take what they want...The two factions have finally decided to sign a peace treaty, but there is still one wolf shifter member of the council that does not want to sign the peace treaty.

Alma is the daughter of a member of the council and decides that she will be the first bride... Things don't turn out as easy as Alma thought it would, and soon discovers that the big brute of a wolf Rourc is not as mean as he looks....

Will Alma achieve what she set out to do?

Tribute to the Alpha is a short read that kicks of the Alma Venus Shifter bride series. In the middle of a war between human & the different Supernatural factions Alma (FMC) comes up with a solutions that she hopes will put a stop to the war. By volunteering to be a bride to Ruarc Bloodmoon who is a particularly prickly Alpha wolf. Only things become difficult for her on doing so. I loved Alma's character even though she was scared as hell she still believed completely and wholeheartedly that marrying Ruarc would make a difference in the long run. Its a pretty read even if its a short one

This is a NON-SPOILER REVIEW. Tribute to the Alpha by Cara Wylde is the prequel for her Alma Venus Shifter-Brides series. I thought this was a wonderful introduction to the series. It gives a strong backbone to the world building and shines a light on the shifter-human condition. Rurac and Alma are a great stepping stone into the series. I found this to be a fast pace, quick read that definitely reads meatier than a prequel. Some heat makes this a Mature Readers Only Read.

Ruarc is an alpha wolf who wants to keep the shifter/human war going. Alma is the only daughter of the human representative in the peace talks. She goes to meet Ruarc and offer herself in a deal. He takes her back home and she is treated badly by the pack. Gradually, Ruarc declares his feelings and things start to change. This is the prequel to the Alma Venus Shifter-Brides. Great start to the series and can not wait to read it all.

The prequel to this series is a good indicator of what's to come. The shifters and humans are trying to negotiate a peace treaty, but there are those who are opposed to the idea.

Ruarc is a wolf shifter and Alpha to his clan. Alma is the daughter of a human negotiator. Alma wants to see an end to the war. She offers herself as a bride to a reluctant Ruarc who eventually acknowledges his feelings. There are protests from his clan, but when they mate, opinions are swayed.

The concept of different factions of shifters is good. Overall it's a good introduction to the series.

This prequel though short gives the perfect introduction to the series.
I haven't read any of the following books but it got me very curious, specially some of the sinopses of those books and the idea of a school for shifter brides.
The balance between the brainwash and the free will, destiny and love.
This is the story of the strong girl that put it to action to end the war.
I wonder if we could get glimpses of the rest of their tale through the serie.

A well written story in the Alma Venus Shifter-Brides series a story that kept me turning pages. Alma Hastings is one very strong willed human woman that believes in justice, and peace. When the only way to get peace between humans and shifters is to offer to be the first bride, she does so with Ruarc Bloodmoon the man who does not want peace. Their story will have suspense, drama, danger, twists, turns, a man with secrets, and romance. A story that was well worth reading.

Interesting twist on a shifter romance

I enjoyed the author's writing style. Everything, the plot, character development, world building, flowed well. There were no glitches or places where she magically wrote herself out of a jam. (Sorry, my pet peeves)
The romance was really nice in this short story. The 2 factions came together and learned to care for one another. There is a HEA and no cliff hanger.

Refreshing in the way that it explains the war and how shifters start to live and mate with humans. Love Ruarc Bloodmoon as a character, would love to of heard more about him though.. Instead this novel was all about Alma. Short read that i think needs to be longer and have more detail to make it a 5*

Captivating

A good story, but even more interesting is the understanding of violence and war in different cultures. I spent a lot of time thinking about this after I finished the book. Was that the author's intention? Could the solution to our world's problems be so simple?

Good writing but lots of gaps

I’m not really sure how I felt while reading this. I didn’t feel the love or the chemistry and the writing was good.

I saw much more potential in this book.
