Sexy, Reverse Harem PNR, that is a guilty pleasure
Part of a series that can be read as a stand-alone, but for maximum reader satisfaction, I recommend that they be read in order. There are a few reoccurring characters and overarching themes with the Emperor, Queen and their Triad, Scorpes, Toads, etc.
This does end on a CLIFFHANGER, but the next story in the Captive Mates series is supposed to contain the ending.
⛔️ Contains references and detailed scenes with subject matter that may be a trigger or offensive to some including adult language throughout, a lot of steamy adult intimate scenes with dominance, submission, restraints, deprivation, and violence such as kidnapping, human trafficking, theft, murder, fighting with some to the death, betrayal, subterfuge, etc.
There are a lot of grammatical issues throughout, but nothing that was difficult to interpret. This includes typos, incorrect tenses, incorrect word choice, missing and extra inserted words. I am trying to mention these for readers such as myself that visualize the story as it is read, because errors interrupt the flow.
Normally I would give this 3 stars, but I rated it 4 because of the potential of the storyline. These could be cleaned up grammatically, edited for the repetitive phrases, and the foundation is there for a really good, action packed, sexy hot PNR series.
I have Corin Cain’s work from the beginning. The earlier stories had more to the plots, but I still consider these as one of my mindless guilty pleasure series, especially after reading more intense stories / series. The phrases used are very repetitive, however I find it is a good way to decompress with some naughty fun since they involve a Triad of large devoted men dedicated to their Fated Mate and her satisfaction in all things. Who wouldn’t love that?!
In this story, Sawoot, and her Captain and BFF Tasha, have mined and stolen 26 orbs. The most powerful substance in the galaxy that is used to power everything indefinitely. They are being chased by Toads, a cowardly alien bully species that are the enemies of the Aurelians. Just when they think they have a chance to get away by slingshotting behind Tarrion’s moon, they run right into an Aurelian war ship.
They are brought onboard, where they are quickly taken into custody. Sawoot has two Triads that are focused on her. Secretly she has always been attracted to Aurelians, but is afraid to act on her attraction after the experience a friend of hers had while in a harem where she was not their Fated Mate. One of the Triads repulse her for many reasons, including their smell and unkept physical appearance. The other makes her feel lots of things from a strong attraction to safety and the leader of this Triad, Gillian, tells her that he will make sure that she is protected.
While in the process of being taken into custody, a couple of their ship’s miners tried to attack the Aurelians to get away despite being told by Tasha to stand down. This warrants punishment, usually in the form of lashes or death. Tasha has garnered the attention of the Captain Aelon of the Aurelian war ship, so she tries to use that by volunteering to take their punishment, especially since she knows that their youngest crewman wouldn’t survive. Aelon commutes the sentence to a spanking to be delivered in front of both their crews in the mess hall.
The public spanking of Tasha riled up all of the crew members, so Sawoot was very grateful for the protection of Gillian and his Triad. They take her back to her cell. While she is trying to decompress from the situation, the door opens and it is Kit and his Triad. The body odor follows them in and they make a beeline toward her. Sawoot tries to get away, but there isn’t a lot of room and they get a hold of her quickly. She is determined to fight them all the way, but unless Gillian or someone else realizes what is going on, she is not going to be able to get away.
Suddenly the door open and help has arrived! They are determined that nothing else will happen to her and start to take turns outside her door. Aelon also grants them a boon based upon the attack, so now Sawoot, Tasha and their crewman can wander freely on the ship. Later when Sawoot is speaking with their young crewman, he points out that the Aurelian war ship is an older decommissioned model because there was an issue with the programming that could be exploited from the Control Room. This leads them to formulate an escape plan where Sawoot will need to “distract” her guards.
Sawoot is willing to “take one for the team” … but what will happen if miracles of miracles she is their Fated Mate? If they manage to escape, could she return later to avoid living with the “what ifs” for the rest of her life? Would they forgive her for leaving them?

This book is one hack of a ride.
I wish it was a done in one, or that I could turn the page to find out what happens next, but this ends with a definite "come back to read more" moment.
Sawoot is the first officer on a small ship, and over the course of her story we discover the many official, and unofficial, duties she's taken on, as well as heists and jobs she and Captain Tasha have done.
Garrick and his triad assure Sawoot she will be safe from the moment they first speak to her, and while they seem unlikely protectors, given the situation, they prove to be remarkable heroes.
This book is one hack of a ride.

I requested for Sawoot's story and here it is. Sawoot's wish was also granted , she has a triad of his own who loves her, honorable triads who will die protecting here. I was overjoyed that they have a happily life and then I got to the last chapter.

Part of a sci-fi series. This book has two parts to it. The first is the retelling of the previous book but from Sawoot’s point of view. The second part starts right where the other book ends. We see what happens next for the groups. There are some twists that will keep you guessing and the ending may surprise you. This one is a cliffhanger. Lots of action and adventure. The romance does get dark at times.

Another Gripping Episode
Corin Cain has written another gripping episode of magical romance and suspense. I find myself not wanting to break away even to eat! The Aurelian Triads are everything this girl wants in her imaginary romantic life. That mixed with a suspenseful cliff hanger has me wanting to read book 6. I will need to eat breakfast before I open the next book, or I will pass out from low blood sugar.

Book five in the Captive Mates Book series a well written story of Sawoot and her mates Tar’ank, Garrick, and Markrin. It is getting really good and then I got to the last pages and the story ends in a cliff-hanger. I want to read the next book. I received a copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.

Well the first half of this book was really just a repeat of the first book in the series. Since I had read it recently it was disappointing not to have more new content. At least I didn’t pay for this book or I would have been upset. The second half of book was much better but left on a cliffhanger. Will be reading next one.

I wasn't sure I'd like this book because it is sort of a rewrite . I was wrong, this book even with the crossover of the other book. Word of warning it ends in a huge cliffhanger.

I really liked this book, but hated the cliffhanger. I KNEW there would be one, but when I went on to the next story, it’s different characters with a different storyline…so…WHERE is the ending for Sawoot?
