Lazyscales always knew that leading dragons would be hard work.
When it was a mere handful, he had no problem. Now that their numbers have swelled, things have gotten a lot harder. As leader, he has enough on his plate without dragons questioning his inexperience. Now, discontent has lead to plotting behind his back.
Not that they need to, with his soul collapsing.
With his condition worsening and threats closing in from all sides, his friends have to make a choice: do they risk their lives and venture where no living soul has been before to save him, or do they let him die?
This series of Lazyscales totally stole my heart and time! I just couldn't stop crying while reading it. All those struggles from book1 to book6, all those pure friendship. Without Lewis's friends he couldn't have achieved this much, at the mean time, without being kind to his friends nor he able to get those supports from them. It's an amazing, intriguing adventure told from a dragon's perspective. I hate the fact that every story has an inevitable end to come, and I'm happy that the end of this story seems pretty warm to me.
This was a great conclusion to the series and all... But I can’t hope but feel like there could have been more... I want this to continue or at least something similar o love this series and there is nothing similar to this in Amazon yet...
I've heard some people refer to Beating Wings as a weak ending. I genuinely didn't mind this ending to the series. It was my second favorite (book 4 being the first)
There were parts I didn't like, but for the most parts, the good outshined the rest. I liked the dragon netherplane, I liked that entire arc. The coup was…okay. But it did nail in some important messages about the impact of the dragons’ way of life and I love that. But the thing I adored the most was the group dynamic. I am always looking for a group with a good dynamic in every novel I read. And the dynamic here was spot on. The chapters where the characters just interact with each other were really enjoyable. And bonus points for having LGBT dragons in literature. Those are rare.
And the ending reminded me of that melancholy feeling I got from Heraldale. It's not an” everything is perfect” ending. It's a, ”we have some serious problems left in the world ” ending. And I consider those to be a favorite of mine. I will without a doubt read the next series. Not immediately but it's on a priority list. That’s for sure
