Tag: I'm a monster, and not just because of the scar on my face. When I returned from Afghanistan, my whole world was changed. Living life behind closed doors is the safest option for everyone. The blonde dog walker that passes by my window is the highlight of my day. She was my favorite daydream...until the day her life was put in danger. I couldn't stand by and watch. I had to act. Now, things are even more complicated without the glass window between us.
Oliva: Tag Fairmont disappeared after he returned home from war. I'd never even heard of him until the day he came to my rescue. Stubborn and obviously wounded, he won't let me into his house, let alone his life. Lucky for him, I'm wildly persistent and don't take no for an answer. It started out as a simple thank you, but my feelings for him are growing into something bigger. I just have to show him that it's him I see, not the scars on his face or those of his past.

Falling For The Brooding Recluse is the fourth book in the Small Town Big Curves series and is the story of Tag Fairmont and Olivia Winters. When Tag came back home after being discharged from the military he was wounded, both inside and out. He had seen and also survived an event while overseas that he had survivor guilt over and suffered from PTSD. Then there was also the injury that left a long scar which ran over one side of his face. So he became a recluse in the home he had inherited from his aunt and where she had raised him. When you can order everything online to be delivered to your doorstep why go outside and feel unsafe. Olivia has been going to school for the last six years for her psychology degree. At the same time she works several jobs to make enough to pay for it. One of those jobs is as a dog walker in her town. What she does not know is that every afternoon when she is walking a king charles spaniel she is also being watched over by a neighbor. When Tag first saw the beautiful, curvy and sexy dog walker who would walk along to music she was listening to he was immediately attracted to her. So for months he has watched her from the safety of his house without her knowing about it. But that all changes one day when Tag rescues her from a mugger with a knife that has followed her. Even though going outside his house caused Tag to have a PTSD attack he knows he cannot let anyone threaten or possibly harm his woman, well she may not be his woman but he does think of her that way. Tag takes down the robber but does not stay around, instead telling her to call the police and then leaving. Olivia wants, no needs, to thank the very big man that saved her but she does not know who he is. Even asking around does not help as no one seems to know who he is, until she finds out from the librarian. Tag is hard man to find and it takes more work to try and find out where he lives but she does finally. Now she is determined to say Thank You properly and that entails spending a pay check on putting together a basket of goodies. The only problem is that he is not receptive to her thank you or even her. But Olivia is not deterred as something inside her just needs to try and thank this man for saving her life.
This was a fun story with some drama, witty dialogue, romance, smexy passion, a feisty and determined h and a strong and damaged H. I enjoyed this story and thought it is a nice addition to this series.
Tag used to be the most popular boy in town and very friendly and outgoing. Then he joined the military where his experiences changed him. He came back home suffering for PTSD and a big scar on his face. He no longer leaves his house and he doesn't talk to people. One of the highlights of his day is to watch Olivia walk the town's dogs. He is so attracted to her sunny smile but he won't go see her because he feels like he is now a monster. Then one day, he sees a suspicious man following Olivia. Fearing that she is in trouble, he pushes himself to leave the house just in time to see the man grab Olivia with a knife in his hand. He saves Olivia and rushes back to his safe zone. He is sure Olivia id disgusted by his monster looks. The next day he is shocked to find Olivia knocking at his door with a gift basket. Not knowing what to do, he invites her in but still tries to hide his scar. No one could love a monster like him he thinks.
Olivia is very attracted to Tag. The scar on his face is just a sign of his bravery to her. She is determined to pay him back for saving her life. When the gift basket doesn't go over well, she decides to help him fix the floor in his kitchen which is falling apart. Spending time with Tag just causes her to fall more in love with him. Too bad, he doesn't believe that she could ever love him.

When Tag came home from the military he was a changed man. He was scarred not just physically but mentally from his time in the service. He spends his time inside his home until one day he heard her outside. Olivia is a dog walker and she passes by Tag's home everyday which has become the highlight of his days. When he sees that she's in danger one day he steps outside to come to her rescue. However he disappears before she can even thank him. So when Olivia learns who he is and where he lives she makes him a thank you basket and refuses to go away easily. Her persistence pays off but he doesn't seem to like her basket so she offers to help him with his floors. Will Tag see that Olivia sees the man pass the scars? Can Olivia get him to believe she wants to be with him?

The fourth installment in Flora Madison's wonderful Small Town Big Curves series is Falling for the Brooding Recluse, an entertaining sweet and and steamy read. Tag never leaves his home, suffering from PTSD and some physical scarring after serving in Afghanistan; but he watches his beautiful neighbour, Olivia, every day she passes by his house performing one of her many jobs (dog walking). When Olivia's life is put in danger one day, Tag leaves his comfort zone and rushes to save her. Wanting to show her gratitude, Olivia pushes her way into Tag's life - and he lets her in spite of himself. These two are wonderful together, with amazing chemistry. Olivia is the perfect person to help Tag open up. He is surly to her sweet, brooding to her vivaciousness, but he's also swoon-worthy in how he feels for her and regards her. This is definitely a recommended read!

First things first; I really like the cover of this book! Falling for the brooding recluse is the fourth book in the ‘’small town, big curves’’ series. This story is short, fast paced and an enjoyable read. I read this book in one sitting and was satisfied throughout. I found the writing style easy to follow, the characters likeable and the storyline enjoyable. Tag is a retired solider suffering from PTSD. The best part of his days hiding away is the pretty dog walker that passes his cabin. When Olivia is in danger will Tag help her? The chemistry between Tag and Olivia is clear to see and I liked them together. I loved that Olivia gave Tag hope and never gave up on him. I really liked the ending and the epilogue for this story. The storyline for this book is easy to follow and it is an enjoyable read. I cannot wait for more books from this series.
Tag returned from service, changed. Where he use to be outgoing, now he prefers to stay inside away from everyone. His only connection to others is when he looks out the window to watch the dog walker walk by. Olivia is a strong woman with three jobs, when one of the causes her life to be in danger, she is shocked by her unlikely hero.
This is a fun story to read. You have to love a women who will not take no for an answer. Olivia is a determined woman, who does not let anything get in her way. Tag begins to open up with Olivia and finds himself with what he has been missing. Great story that you will not want to put down.

I'm giving a good rating and review cause I enjoyed this story. I've read each in this series and this is the first one I "like liked". The others weren't ~*baddd*~ , they're all short and to the point. I've gotten used to this authors writing style, they are usually ok to good bite size reads for when your in the mood for something simple, quick, easy, with a pinch of adult sweetness in the mix. I liked these characters and there story the first 3 were underwhelming I'm sorry to admit... I almost stopped after the book before this one, thinking they weren't gonna get better, I'm glad I kept going , I'm on to read the next in line with renewed interest. Hope the momentum keeps up!
Tag hasn't been out of his house in years. He watches Olivia walk by everyday walking the dogs. He is so attracted to her but he doesn't go out because of the scars from the war. He's watching her one day when he see some man sneaking up behind her and he goes out and saves her from being stabbed. Olivia wants to talk to him and she goes to his house but he refuses to let her in. This was so cute. She finally talks him into letting her in and they start fixing his house up. They also have the sweetest chemistry that blazes between them. Great short story. I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
Great sweet, short story about a man with scars from his time in war and a super sweet sunshine woman that doesn’t accept no. Tag has PTSD and does not leave his house. He watches Olivia walk dogs every day, but is never willing to talk to her no matter how strong he feel the pull to her. He is forced to rescue her from a robber one night and she refuses to let him ignore her when she tries to thank him. These two were adorable together and it was such a good book to read!

Tag was a war veteran with a lot of issues. PTSD, facial injuries, along with self imposed isolation. He watched people from inside his home especially Olivia, a curvy dog walker. One day he noticed someone following her. He fought his inner fears to get outside to help her. The man had a knife at her throat. He took the guy down and saved her. She wanted to thank him but he wasn't easy. This is really a good book. Read it to see what they go through together. Written by Cindy. :)
Great story. Tag is suffering from PTSD and rarely leaves the house. He watches the woman walk a dog at the same time everyday. When Olivia gets some unwanted attention he has to help her. Olivia just wants to meet Tag and thank him for saving her life but, he won’t open the door. What happens when she refuses to give up on Tag? Life is not easy when your suffering.

Olivia never imagined her hero would be suffering from past trauma but she isn't going to give up on him. She's going to thank him no matter the effort it takes to get his attention. Love and persistence can go a long way to help Tag and she knows just what to do.
