Head over Heels for the Prince…

Schoolteacher Lauren Carlyle doesn’t lose her head over men. This was why being swept off her feet by a handsome stranger at a party didn’t make sense. Not expecting to see him again after that night, she was shocked to learn they’d be living under the same roof.

What was even crazier, the man she thought didn’t have a dime to his name was none other than Alexander Gabrielle, Prince of Carpegnia. She’d fallen for Alex without knowing he had royal blood.

He was what she wanted but could she convince him she loved him for the man he was and not for his crown?

This was a sweet romance and a fast read! Lauren (who was a character in book #4 of the series) has a fling with a hot guy in Chicago, only to meet him again in St. Louis. Alex is hiding his royal identity (for a decent reason) and trying to make it on his own. He ends up renting a room at Laurens, and they develop a friendship as well as real attraction.

I would have liked to see more of the friendship, but it was a short book, and the relationship was described enough to me that I believed it. I still didn't like some of Lauren's personality traits, but she was (of course) much more sympathetic here than in the last book.

I received an ARC of this book - thanks to the author and publisher for that!

I wasn't sure how I was going to feel about this book. I did not love Lauren in "With Just One Kiss." Lauren seemed very underhanded and seemed to really want to get in the way of Christy and David. But like most stories what we saw of Lauren in "With Just One Kiss" was just one side of a her and her story. Lauren had loved David since HS and she assumed he was going to proposed, but then he went to Vegas and married his HS sweet heart he hasn't seen in years it broke Lauren's heart and hope.
This book picks up a few years after "With Just One Kiss" and finds Lauren coming home from a wedding in Chicago. Lauren was loyal and dependable, but this one weekend away she lets her guard down and has a fling with a guy she just met. Lauren enjoyed their time together, but assumes he will never see Alex again.
Lauren has so much more depth in her character than we saw in the last book. Lauren is living in the shadow of a mother who believe money and marriage are the most important thing for Lauren. Lauren just wants to be a good person and be happy. She will not settle for anything less than love, even is the guys is poor. Lauren likes the finer things in life, but also knows she can't live beyond her means. Right now she needs to get a roommate or she is going to find herself deeper in debt.
While getting Lauren is getting coffee with her friend, Sara ("As If You Were Mine"), Sara introduces Lauren to her new Tour coordinator, Alex. Lauren can't believe it.
Alex met an amazing woman at a wedding and doesn't have high hopes of seeing her again. Right now he just needs to get to the end of the year and show is Mother he can be counted and depended on. He is going to live within his means and never touch the money in the bank. Alex just got a good job, but needs a place to live that won't break the bank. Alex is focused on the future and going home to his family and country. But when he walks into a coffee shop in St Louis and sees Lauren, the girl from the wedding, sitting there with his new boss he can't believe his luck.
Lauren and Alex move into together even though Lauren is worried about their chemistry. Alex promises to be the perfect gentleman. Alex sees a change in what he wants while living with Lauren. He sees a life he never thought of filled with love and doing the dishes and not going out and throwing crazy parties.
Unfortunately just as life is settling into a good pattern and Alex and Lauren are learning that they can be happy, life gets in the way. Lauren finds she has a parting gift from her weekend in Chicago and Alex's brother goes missing. Alex must finally tell Lauren the truth about himself and his family as well as leave her. Alex has to go to Boston and take over some of the family business and help look for his Brother. Lauren can't believe Alex has hid some much of his past from her and she can't see a future with a man like that.
Can Lauren and Alex over come their pasts and their family to find each other??? You'll just have to real 'Sunshine In Your Smile!'
One thing I really love about the about Seriously Sweet St Louis Series is that they don't just pick up right where the last book left off. In Good Hope it is almost like one continuous story. With this series you have a lot of hurt and truth and heartache and people don't just get over that in a week. These books show you more about the characters and how far they have come in a more realistic way. Lauren is broken hearted after David and to be read for her next adventure and possibly real love she needed time. I also love all the epilogs in the these books, they are a great way to see where everyone is and it's always about a year or so in the future. I just can't get enough of the Seriously Sweet St Louis Series.

Alex is a prince of a small European country, a real prince apparently, who's not exactly hiding his identity, but doesn't want to share it if he can help it. He is learning to live within his means and to understand what life really is outside of royalty. As the book progresses, he gains perspective of the other side of life and gets to appreciate people for their hardwork and sincerity rather than for money. He has a deep sense of responsibility and is looking forward to rule his country, being the eldest.

Lauren on the other hand, is a kindergarten school teacher, who always lives beyond her means. She is a compulsive shopper even when she has no money to even pay her bills. Having parents who aren't really great people to look up to, she has had to fend for herself most of her life, at times even scraping to meet ends. She is strong, yet too proud for her own good. What I found ridiculous was her shopping habit when she knew she couldn't afford it. Being a teacher, I had expected that she would be cautious and responsible about money. But it was a bit disappointing to find her so easily swayed. What is also disturbing is that she hasn't even tried to find a way to overcome her compulsive shopping habit, nor does she learn from example from Alex. It is strange to see a teacher so irresponsible.

There's obvious attraction between Alex and Lauren. But in the whole deal, Alex comes out stronger, kinder, and more caring. I found Lauren very selfish to think only about how Alex hadn't declared his love when through his actions rather than words, he seems to have a deeper connection with her rather than just a physical. They have had a great routine as they shared a house, almost as a married couple, and spend enough time together to understand each other. Although Alex never delves about who he really is, he takes efforts to stay in touch with Lauren after he has to abruptly leave her.

Lauren keeps saying that she doesn't want to marry without love, but then she isn't even open to accept Alex's love. She's constantly thwarting him and trying to be the martyr when in fact, a candid discussion with him would have resolved her problem.

Alex on the other hand really applies himself to be worthy of Lauren's love (although I believe he is too good for her.) He comes back to her again and again even when she rejects him and stays away from him.

It's this rather dry treatment of Alex that disappointed me and made me think that Lauren is still not hundred percent in the relationship. She still would rather mope in her martydom of being rejected rather than own up, face the reality, and be brave to confront Alex.

Overall, an OK story with not so great characters.

“Sunshine in Your Smile” by Cindy Kirk is an endearing, sweet romance. This book is part of the Seriously Sweet St. Louis series. Lauren Carlyle was not a very likeable person in “With Just One Kiss”. She wanted to marry David Warner at all costs. David was in love with Christy and married to her, so marriage did not happen for Lauren in that story.

Now we fast forward four years later to Chicago where Lauren is attending a wedding. After the reception and a few drinks, she has a one night stand with a gorgeous man who she just met. This was out of character for Lauren but after dancing a few dances with Alexander Gabrielle and feeling the undeniable attraction, she gave in to her desires. Unbeknownst to Lauren, Alex was a prince in Carpegnia, France. She knew he was a friend of her mutual friend, Tom Alvarez and was at the time unemployed. They parted ways without sharing contact information even though they had a strong desire and attraction to one another.

Back in St. Louis, Lauren’s mother interrogates her about any men at the wedding that she had been interested in. Her mother was concerned that she was almost thirty and still unmarried. Lauren wanted the fairy tale. Rightly so as she knows what it is to be rejected. She wants a man that is passionately in love with her and she wants to live happily ever after. While at a St. Louis coffee shop with her friend, Sara Michaels, she is shocked to see Alex walk in. He is coordinating Sara’s European tour as she is a Christian singer who is about to go on tour.

Lauren is a school teacher who leased a town house that she can’t afford. Her budget being very tight is leading her to consider taking in a roommate to help cover her expenses. Sara volunteers Alex who needs a temporary place to stay and he is agreeable but Lauren is hesitant. After much thought and looking over her finances, Lauren agrees to the arrangement of Alex moving in to help out with the rent but with the understanding that they cannot be intimate. The chemistry and attraction only escalates with this arrangement although they keep to the platonic agreement. Once Lauren is hit with a new revelation, Alex is summoned by his mother to help in the search for his missing brother, Luc. He leaves Lauren to fly to Boston and Lauren finds out at that time that Alex is a prince and a relationship with him was probably not in her future.

Read this book to find out how Lauren got her happily ever after. Another great installment from Cindy Kirk that will leave you sighing and enjoying a great escape. I highly recommend if you are a fan of HEA sweet romances. It was an easy read and a welcome escape for me.

First off, I love the title of this book. It's just so sweet and soft and romantic.

That being said, Lauren was not necessarily soft and sweet when we first meet her. She was hell bent on breaking up David's wedding because they used to date. To say that she was blindsided when he ended up marrying someone else and reacted poorly is an understatement.

I was totally surpised when I started reading this book when I saw how much Lauren has changed. She is a bit more mature, a little sad, and a lot lonely. Everyone in her circle of friends are getting married and starting families and she is still alone.

She meets Alex at a wedding and does something so uncharacteristic for her. Did she do this because she was lonely? Or was it because she just needed to forget. Even for a moment. At any rate, she thinks she will never see that man again when ... surprise, surprise, Alex ends up working for one of Lauren's friends. They now live in the same city, and due to financial constraints, they actually end up living together. Lauren needed a roommate, Alex needed an affordable place to stay -- match made in heaven, right?

In more ways than one! You have to read this story to find out just how entwined Alex and Lauren's lives turn out to be. I love this book because it proves that we can find love when we least expect it. I also love that it tries to teach us to listen to the beat of our own heart, rather than the loud noises that the people around us make. Often, it is when we listen to the softest messages do we find out what life has intended for us.

This story has the perfect amount of drama and heat, as is always the case with Cindy Kirk's books. It's also the perfect redemption story -- turns out those we like the least can be people we like a lot.

** I received an ARC of this book, but this review is written voluntarily and all opinions herein are my own.

I received an Advanced Reader Copy from the publisher and am voluntarily reviewing it. Lauren Carlyle is a woman who wants love and is willing to wait for the right person to come along. She is determined to have a little fun while attending a friend’s wedding in Chicago for the weekend. Turns out she met a man and had some big fun. This was supposed to be a one night stand until she lays eyes on Alexander Gabrielle in St. Louis.

Alexander Gabrielle is the heir to the throne of Carpegnia. He is an actual prince but has taken a year to see if he can make it on his own. He is able to gain a job coordinating Sara’s European concert dates. Fortunately for him Lauren is in desperate need of a roommate and he needs a place to live. Will these two be able to live under the same roof and not give into the desires sparked from one night of passion? Alex for some reason is intent on keeping his identity secret.

Everything is going well until Alex’s secret is forced out into the open. He must again take is place in the royal family as the prince he is. There is still a secret coming between them but Lauren grows up and handles her business on her own.

This book is definitely seriously sweet but there is some sexual interactions that are not present in the previous books in this series. I loved Lauren and the transitions she makes as she grows up and takes responsibility for her actions. As a single woman, I connected with her on every level. Cindy does a great job allowing readers to walk in Lauren’s shoes. I know I have said this about every book in this series but this story was my favorite. Readers got to know Lauren in the last book and truly felt like they knew her in this book. I can’t wait for the next adventure in St. Louis.

We first meet Lauren in Seriously Sweet #4 With just one Kiss in which she got her heart broken. This book takes place four years after the previous book and she is now friendly with David the man who broke her heart and his wife.
The book starts off with Lauren mother harassing her about finding a man. Unbeknownst to her mother when Lauren was in Chicago for her friends wedding she had a one night stand with a man named Alex. She was so ashamed she left his hotel room before he ever got her phone number. Fast forward where some time has passed and Lauren finds out Alex has been hired by Sara(#2 Heroine) to manager her European tour. The scenes of Lauren and Alex pretending to just know each other in passing when Sara introduces them is quite humorous and endearing. Alex is secretly a prince who is working for a moment until his mother chooses him or one his brother to be next in line for the throne. All his life Alex know women are drawn to him because of who he is and so he keeps it a secret to Lauren that he is a Prince. As we all know with this sort of storyline the heroine is never happy after finding out the hero has being lying to her and Laura refuses to see him anymore. This been a love story Lauren finds a way to forgive Alex as he makes a sweeping gesture of his love for her. As always it was great catching up we some of the past book characters. Was giving an arc by the author for an honest review.

I have always enjoyed Cindy Kirk’s books! Her characters are very relatable and Sunshine in Your Smile is no different, even if one of them is a prince! Cindy has a knack for portraying people as people, no one better than the other, despite their station in life. We all have the same types of thoughts inside our heads, doubting ourselves at times; confidence in ourselves at others; afraid to put ourselves out there in new situations. Lauren and Alex are no different. I liked the fact that Alex’s mother acted like a mother by forcing her three sons to show her their true character by living away from the comforts of home and never ending money. She knew who ever she chose as her successor would need to have the knowledge, wisdom, and compassion to lead their country and have it continue to grow and thrive under their leadership. Lauren was also learning to live within her means and I give her credit for standing up to her mother, who was continually pushing her to find someone with money to marry. While she may have strayed somewhat from her moral compass in the beginning, she pulled herself back on track by not allowing her mother to influence her future decisions. We all stray at some time in our lives, but we can thank God that he forgives us every time we repent and turn back to him! Thank you, Cindy, for a very enjoyable read!!

We met Lauren in Ms. Kirk's last Seriously Sweet novel, With Just One Kiss, as the jilted girlfriend of David Warner. She has strong ethics and moral code when it comes to her beliefs. However, after a one night stand with Alex Gabrielle (aka Prince Alex of Carpegnia), Lauren finds herself in a moral dilemma. Even though she is attracted to Alex, who ends up as her roommate, Lauren needs the extra money to pay off her bills. Alex is also working for Lauren's friend Sara who knows nothing about Lauren and Alex's one night stand.

Lauren discovers that she is pregnant with Alex's child, and she also learns that he is a prince. However, Lauren is afraid to tell Alex about the child, especially when he is called away for a family emergency and does not return to St. Louis. They keep in touch via email and text, but she has become distant. Alex finds out that Lauren is pregnant and does some soul searching on how he feels. He wants to marry Lauren, but Lauren wants to make sure that he wants to marry her for her not because she is pregnant with his child.

Another great novel by Ms. Kirk. Characters from her previous stories are now in a supportive role to the story. With all of her novels, it will be exciting to see who gets the next chapter in the Seriously Sweet St. Louis adventure.

Lauren finally finds her true love!

Lauren finally finds her true love! This is about Lauren and Alex. Lauren was the woman in the book With Just One Kiss where she thought she would marry her best friend, David, even when she knew he didn’t love her. She was fixated with the idea of being his wife that she was hurt when he ended up marrying his long-time ex, Christy (and her ex-best friend) after bumping into her in Vegas without letting anyone know. Even as she knew that Rusty was always, following her around because he was also in love with her, like she was with David, she never wanted to give false hopes but thought that the only love she would ever have was the one she felt for David.

Now comes Alex, who she meets at the wedding in Chicago they both attended. The one-night stand was all she thought that encounter would be, but once she is back home, the need to find a roommate has become a reality so she asks her friend Sara if she knows of anyone needing a place and boy does she! She just hired Alex as her tour coordinator, but she had no clue that they both already met! The story gets better with every chapter especially as she tries not to rekindle what they once shared with him, but then she is surprised to find out he is a Prince and she is pregnant! I hope Rusty is the next one to get his forever love as he hit it off with Aimee, and being that Lauren has found her forever after.

When I first met Lauren in With Just One Kiss, I didn't like her at all. She seemed to want to come between David & Christy despite David not loving her. Thank goodness, that that was only one side to her personality. As Sunshine in Your Smile started, I was unsure whether I was going to like Lauren due to her being introduced previously.
Lauren has been interstate for a wedding & ends up having a one night stand with Alex Gabrielle. It's later in the book that we learn he is actually Prince Alex of Carpegnia. Suffering remorse after the one night stand, circumstances lead to Alex becoming Lauren's housemate. Trying so hard to deny their feelings for one another, Lauren & Alex eventually give in & become a couple.
A family emergency calls Alex away where after Lauren learns that she is pregnant with Alex's child. Determined not to ruin his life, Lauren refuses to tell Alex about the baby. It is during this family crisis that Lauren learns about Alex's royal connections.
Alex ends up missing too much Lauren too much after the crisis is over & tracks her down to learn he is a father.
What happens next??? You will need to read the book to find out if Lauren & Alex get their HEA.
I always enjoy reading Ms Kirk's books & have fallen in love with the Seriously Sweet in St Louis collection. I look forward to the next book in the series.

I normally love a good Cindy Kirk book. This one was not one I enjoyed reading. It was an ok read and I would recommend that you read it and judge for yourself.

This book rubbed me the wrong way. It really bothered me that Lauren was focused on making assumptions and reaching conclusions based on having conversations with herself. She focused on her lack of will power in not being able to stay away from Alex if he lived with her or on not being able to shop if she was stressed.

She spent time convincing him she didn't want to be involved with him, but wanted to be upset when he had a "date". Then, she kept quiet about something important, and wanted to be mad at him. Let's not even talk about her mercenary mother.

I'm glad Lauren and Alex got their HEA, but it was a struggle for me to finish the book in order to see it happen. I don't know. I didn't feel any connection or chemistry between Alex and Lauren. It felt like he was willing to try and be more into her than she was willing to be into him. She gave off a lot of mixed signals.

I received an advanced copy of this book from the publisher but I am reviewing it voluntarily. This is the story of Lauren and Alex. A chance meeting at a wedding and a night that she’ll never forget. Will their paths cross again? Probably not since he is in Chicago and she lives in St. Louis.

Lauren has come to the reality that she has to get her finances together. As she talking to her friend about finding a roommate she has the perfect person! Alex is working for her Sara (from the second book in the series) for her European tour and he is only in town for a few months. Problem solved right? Their attraction for each other blossoms especially sharing the same house. Even though Lauren knows he is only staying temporarily she can’t help but fall for him.

This story is so good. It was hard for me to put it down. I really enjoyed getting to know Lauren more and also getting to see how the other characters from previous stories in the series interact. I love how Cindy Kirk has past characters in the new stories and makes them all fit in the community for the reader. Makes it more relatable. You won’t be disappointed with this story!

We first met Lauren in the previous book when she was due to marry David, who ended up marrying his old sweetheart to Lauren's dismay. She had been cast as a villain who had tried to split up the happy couple.

We meet Lauren again a few years later when she is feeling down as so many of her friends are married or getting married. At another wedding she ends up spending the night with the handsome Alex, believing she will never see him again. And that's where the story really takes off......of course she does meet him again when he turns up working for her friend, he needs a place to live and Lauren needs a roommate. They agree to be room mates but the spark between them means that their friendship develops pretty quickly......but Lauren still doesn't know who Alex really is!!! I had to read this in one go to find our what happened and I was so pleased that Lauren got her happy ever after. I received an advanced reader copy of this book from the publisher and author in return for my honest opinion.

Another excellent book in the Seriously Sweet St Louis series. We met Lauren in ‘With Just One Kiss’ where she was let down in love.
The story picks up a few years later where she attends a wedding and has one hot night with a gorgeous man named Alex. A week later she bumps into him and after being backed into a corner by her friends she ends up renting her basement to him but, although the sparks still fly she is determined to keep her distance as he is only in town for a few months and would like to keep her heart intact. Alex is determined to spend as much time with her as possible and manages to creep into Lauren’s heart. When there is a family emergency with his brother and he has to leave, Alex’s family background is finally revealed and Lauren realises there is no future with him. Lauren ends the relationship for various reasons but Alex decides to try one more time. As with all Cindy’s books there is always a HEA.

Sunshine in Your Smile is the fifth in the Seriously Sweet St. Louis series but can be read as a stand alone. Although this is part of the Seriously Sweet series, there is a touch of spice in the beginning chapters. Lauren attends a wedding in Chicago and meets the mysterious friend of the groom which leads to a one-night stand. Alex, a prince from Carpegnia, attends his old college roommate's wedding and is instantly captivated by Lauren but after their wild night of passion, he forgets to get her number. Thinking never to see each other again, Lauren heads home to St. Louis only to discover that her friend Sara has employed Alex to arrange her European tour. Alex is looking for temporary living arrangements and Lauren is looking for a roommate to help pay the bills but is worried that her attraction to Alex will create problems. The story that follows is filled with a cute, domestic lifestyle of a story with a few surprises thrown in to add just a touch of zest.

Lauren is a good girl, but in a weak moment had a one night stand with a man at an out of town wedding. Oops, he is now in her town, since they have friends in common and he is working on setting up her friend, Christian singer Sara Michael's, European tour. Oops. She also had rented above her means and needs a roommate. Mr. Gorgeous One Night Stand is in need of a place for the next few months that he will be in town, and she begrudgingly rents to him.

They have feelings for each other, but she won't act on them because he is living with her and she is essentially a good girl and does not want to have an affair. When she finds out that he's a prince and first in line for the throne, AND finds out she is pregnant, she is afraid he will want to take his heir away from her and back home with him. Of course, there is an HEA or I never would have read it. Well worth the read.

Lauren Carlyle was introduced in a previous book when her boyfriend shows up to a function with his new wife. Lauren was cast as a bit of a bad guy because she tried to break up the newlyweds. It is now several years later, and everyone around her is coupling up and Lauren is a bit lonely and ends up hooking up with Alex Gabrielle at a wedding of a mutual friend in Chicago. She returns to St. Louis figuring that she would never see him again. Of course, he is working for her friend, needs a place to live and Lauren is looking for a roommate. They agree to be roommates without benefits, but the chemistry is hard to ignore. I really love that Lauren is redeemed in this book and gets her happily ever after. A one-night stand in another city, has two meeting up again in a surprise turn of events. Thrown back together by mutual friends, can Lauren and Alex find a way to become friends and something more. Kirk takes us through a journey of ups and downs, secrets held deep, and secrets slowly revealed to add conflict and angst which would surely break the trust of the most loving and connected couples. When all is against Lauren and Alex, including distance, different lifestyles, family conflict, and trust, can two, who are meant to be together, make it work?

Kirk, as usual, weaves an intriguing tale, which includes a cast of characters we have met in the first four stories of this series. Can’t wait to see whose story is next.

A one night stand, secrets, royalty...

The Seriously Sweet St. Louis series is exactly that, sweet and beautifully written. I love getting lost in these characters stories and seeing how they develop.

Sunshine In Your Smile focuses on Lauren, who is not one of my favorite characters in the previous book, but I love learning more about her and watching her grow through this story.

This book does use a trope that is not my favorite, and I am not a fan of how Lauren handled it, but knowing more about her background, it's totally understandable.

I really like how this book takes what Lauren thinks is a mistake and something she's embarrassed of, and turns it into a moment of growth for her. She doesn't let that one decision define who she is. She learns from what she did and grows.

I was so glad that Lauren was able to get her own story and happily ever after. I love when Cindy allows readers to return to their favorite stories and follow along on the next journey. Having said that, Lauren wasn’t the most likable character in the beginning. Only Cindy can weave a story in a way that allows us to see a whole different side of a character. Lauren’s story felt to me more about being able to loosen up in her life and her expectations and learning to go with the flow as sometimes life takes you into uncharted territory despite where you think you will wind up. Only then can life’s greatest blessings and surprises truly happen when we stop making plans and learn to let go. Another wonderful book to this series and I highly recommend.

Lauren is the ex of David from the previous book.
She is a schoolteacher, who needs a roommate. Sara introduces her to her European tour manager, Alex. Alex and Lauren previously met, and had a night together., (Sex). Living together, Lauren tells him nothing can happen again. We learn Alex is the Prince of Carpegnia. He doesn't tell Lauren. They hang out, spend time together, sleep together a few times. Lauren finds out she's pregnant, Alex's brother Luc is missing so Alex goes to find him. Lauren tells him it was fun but it's over. Alex gives her space, but then shows up to propose and tell her he loves her. Lauren thinks her Mom told him she was pregnant, but Lauren tells him. One year later they have a son.
Up next is When You Came Along about Drew and Lori.

I am so glad that Lauren was in the next installment of Seriously Sweet St Louis Series. She deserved her chance at love.

I think Alex's mother was wise to have her sons take a year and learn how to manage money and everyday life. It will enrich his time as King and understanding what the everyday person goes through who are on a budget. However, it was more of a challenge for Luc, his brother. I would have liked more info on his journey and his brothers. But that would probably be another series. :)

I really felt for Lauren and her relationship with her mother. I am glad she really tried to tell the truth despite what she grew up with. I especially loved more time with Sara and Sal.

I was blessed to receive an advanced reader copy so that I could review the book.

Not Just A Little Fling

Sunshine in Your Smile is book 5 in the Seriously Sweet St. Louis Series, but can be read as a standalone. We first met Lauren in book 4 as she was originally supposed to marry David.

We quickly find out that Lauren had a one-night stand while attending a wedding with a man who speaks French when he makes love. Like a lot of one-night stands, she assumes she’ll never she him again EXCEPT he ends up being Alex, the man that Sara Michaels has hired to handle her European tour.

Book 5 in this series carries through many characteristics that the other books in this series do: hot chocolate, faith and lessons to learn

Lauren and Alex’s story was a great addition to the Seriously Sweet St. Louis Series.

I generally love this series but this was not my favorite installment. Part of it is because Lauren wasn't a likable character until the end of the previous book. While I liked her better in this installment as I got to know her better, I didn't like her decision-making in most cases.

In order to keep this review spoiler-free, I will not specify other aspects that interfered with my ability to suspend disbelief but there was more. It was still a feel-good story and the concept itself was good, it's the execution of certain parts that disappointed me.

However, don't let my pickiness deter you from reading. I am an avid follower of this author and I believe almost all of her books are 5 stars, we can't score a touchdown on every play.

I was happy to see Lauren get her happily ever after. Often times we are introduced to a character that is the one that gets dumped and you are not really disappointed because you are cheering for the main character. Lauren was a bit different where she was the best friend trying to help the main character out in the last story, she wasn't a bad person and it was kind of hard to see her get hurt. I liked that there was a little bit of mystery with Alex and you don't really learn what he is hiding until later in the book. This was another sweet romance in this series. It's a quick read and easy to enjoy.

This is the 5th book in the Seriously Sweet series. Although each book does have a little carry-over of previous characters they can be read as stand-alone and the reader wont miss nuch. Although I wasn't a fan of the Lauren character when she was introduced in the previous book, I have to say I fell in love with her and her story and this is by far one of my favorite books in the series! Even though this is a short-quick read, Ms. Kirk does a fantastic job painting the picture and pulling the reader in to the character's emotions and lives!

Lauren Carlyle is at a friend's wedding and does something out of the ordinary for her, she sees and really handsome man and sleeps with him. Thinking she'll never see him again, in walks Alex Gabrielle, Sara's new European tour manager.

Since Alex is new to St. Louis and doesn't have a place to stay, Sara tries to convince Lauren to let Alex move in with her.
Will Lauren have the strength to resist her ongoing attraction for Alex? Is Alex the man of her dreams, or are the secrets they both carry going to tear them apart?

Read to find out.
Enjoy!

A classic fairy tale ending. After meeting a guy out of town and having a hook up, the last thing Lauren expects is to see him again. But fate has a way of stepping in and throwing a wrench in even the best laid plan. Sexy Alexander Gabrielle couldn't believe his luck when he realizes that the woman who caught his eye at a friend's wedding is close friends with his new boss. And better yet, she's looking for a roommate! Can he coax her back into his bed? Oh, and keep the fact that he's royalty hidden? Fun, flirty read that will satisfy the romantic in you.
