Drake’s used to hurting people. But this time’s different. His heart feels ripped in two, And he’s ready to fight to win Tarryn back.
A King is nothing without his Queen.
* DRAKE
My biggest fear has come true—I can’t change, even if I want to. In the end, I hurt Tarryn, just like I knew I would. But I’ve never felt this way before, about anyone. Not even Lane. And I’ll do anything to win her back.
Even if I might lose my kingdom in the process. Hell, I’ve already ruined so much—my reputation, my relationship, why not my future as a Castleton?
# TARRYN
I don’t know what I expected... that mere hours spent with me could wash away his bad boy past? A stupid girl. That’s what I was... but I could never go back to the before. I couldn’t undo how Drake made me feel. Even if I wanted to.
He'd betrayed me though. If he’d just told me the truth, we could have found a way to make it work.
Drake’s still a bully. Still a liar.
And he won’t get out of my stupid dreams.

Nothing wrong with the writing. I liked both characters and it wasn’t a problem that they were smaller books, I actually liked that.
What I found extremely unsatisfying was the ending felt rushed and choppy. No real epilogue just a vague “oh yep, no one knows what ending they will have!”
While I don’t have a problem with cliffhangers (which this ending seemed like) there was no real conclusion and left me asking more questions than I had answers. Which school did they attend? It seemed like birdie was gonna die? What happened to Byron and the secretary? What happened to the mother? What changes were discussed on Christmas Day?
Ugh! I’m so frustrated just thinking about it bcos it seems there may be another book that the author was alluding too. I can honestly say by the time that comes out I would have lost interest and forget I’ve read this book. So yeah, just ok for me.
I appreciated that Drake sought help and engaged with a therapist in this book. It was a welcome change to see him abstain from hooking up with someone else for once. Although I wasn't thrilled that he almost gave in to the girl at the store and continued to be attracted to others, his genuine effort and ability to walk away was progress.
Despite his sincere attempts, I'm less enthusiastic about her swift forgiveness. Additionally, the imbalance in steamy moments between the main couple and other characters left me wanting more happiness for them. I read the series for them, and I was left wanting so much more.
The narrative felt rushed, with rapid transitions following their union, including the abrupt ending. Suddenly, they were home for Christmas, and then suddenly, they graduated. It would have been more satisfying to witness a bit more relationship-building before leaping to the conclusion.
I enjoyed the build up to their first time together. I liked how he worked for her love and forgiveness. I was happy to read about Drake’s therapist and his view on self love. HOWEVER, there were so many typos…too many to ignore. It would go from third person perspective to suddenly first person perspective and then back to third. Spelling mistakes were endless. Honestly, either the author is writing to quickly and just trying to get the work done, or the editors are just lazy.
Again-editing is sub par. I wasn’t satisfied with the ending. I feel like it was rushed and grazed over “possibilities” At this point I feel like the author could have ventured off years in advance to show us what happened to the main characters as well as branched off to view the lives of sub characters and where their lives ended up. Maybe even in separate books?! You don’t have to stop at four. I love the dedication that Drake had for Tarryn and that’s why I read them all, I just feel let down for not having a concrete happily ever after ending.
I have loved this whole series. I was hoping tarryn & drake would sort things out I didn't like reading about tarryns heart break or about what Tabitha had done to her. Reminded me of why I hated HS, but overall the story wasn't a quick one. It was a slow burner and kept me hanging on every word Have to admit, birdie is my fave character , she takes no prisoners lol.
Wowwww….that ending fucking suuuuuucked BALLS. The rest of the book was great then…BAM…fucking rushed ass ending comes in and gives you a punch right to the face 🤯🤬😲🤦🏻♀️😩 It was like the author had a deadline or didn’t feel like writing anymore of the story so BAM I’ll just stop right here. So unsatisfied…. 😑 ugh
Seriously, no editor? None? All 4 books riddled with typos. I liked the idea of the story but the ending of book 4 left a lot to be desired. So frustrating. I do appreciate that Tarryn was kind of sort of a really tough cookie. She stuck to her resolve and stood up for herself much better than so many of the girls in these bully books I’ve read before.
It was nice to see what happened after a heart breaking cliff hanger, but the series didn’t really feel concluded and the writing felt almost rushed. At one point I began to just read to get to the end instead of being invested like the other books in the series.
Complex, sexy and exciting... this series is addictive! I loved Drake and Tarryn. I raced from one book to the next to see what happens. Such great writing and characters! Please more bully romance! This was AWESOME!
I devoured all these books in one day. When I got to the end of the last book, my jaw dropped with the ending, like, really, it just ended. I NEEDED an epilogue. I seriously loved this series but, it should have NEVER ended that abruptly. Very disappointed 😢
I'm glad we got another book after that crazy ending in Brawl. I wish this book was longer and more of an ending. Hopefully we get another book to finish the story. It felt unfinished.
