Playing matchmaker for his best friend was easy... until he fell in love with her.
Nessa Pompeo is in love with her best friend. Convinced that taking things further will only end in heartbreak, she’ll never tell Lucky the truth. Plus, it’s clear he doesn’t feel the same way for her. If he did, he wouldn’t be setting her up on blind dates with every douchebag in his phone.
Lucky O’Brien is about to leave his life in Hollywood to chase his dreams in New York, but breaking the news of his move to his best friend is… harder than he expected. To make the process of saying goodbye easier, Lucky develops a genius plan: to find Nessa a boyfriend. If he can’t make her happy, the next best thing is to find someone who can.
But Lucky’s plot only backfires. Soon, poor Nessa’s going on one bad date after another while Lucky’s feelings for her are on a fast track out of the friend zone. His only saving grace is that he can at least retreat to his own place at the end of the day to nurse his broken heart in peace.
When the eviction notice with Lucky’s name on it pushes their living spaces together… will it also shove them into happily ever after?
Steamy Romance Author Love, Lust, and a little Chaos
Happily ever after... with a little bit of chaos and a lot of heat between the sheets!
Jessalyn Jameson writes sexy, troubled guys and the strong women who love them. The road to happily ever after may not be easy, but it is always worth the wild ride.
When she’s not writing, you can usually find her with a drink in hand and a far-off look in her eyes, always dreaming up her next chaotic couple. Jessalyn resides in Sunny Southern California with her husband, their teen daughter, and a sweet -but-wild rescue dog.
This book was very hard to follow, the timelines didn’t make sense. One day it was Sunday and the next day it was Tuesday. Very difficult to keep track. The spicy scenes were awesome though
Bruh, that was the most abrupt ending I’ve ever read. This book wasn’t too bad but the whole “miscommunication” trope drives me bonkers when everything could be fixed by not leaping to conclusions and having a simple conversation SMH
Sometimes the perfection is right in front of you all the time
Get Lucky is the second book in The Brunch Babes series and is sweet and fun best friends to lovers and more story about Nessa and Lucky. What are best friends for but to make sure you are as happy as possible. For Lucky that is what he plans on ensuring for Nessa before he leaves Hollywood to move to NYC, which he has not told her about. He has a plan all worked out but let's just say things don't quite go to plan and start to blow-up in ways he never expected. That also includes his feelings of jealousy as he sets her up on one horrible date after another. Nessa is still in the dark about why he is setting her up on the dates and thinks that he does not care for her any more, even as the best of friends. But it gets even crazier between them when Lucky is evicted and with no other place to go ends up moving in with Nessa. With them in such close quarters will they be able to avoid their true feelings for each other or will they finally be forced to admit them, not only to themselves but to each other? This is a sweet and funny story which was also poignant at times. I liked both characters and laughed out loud a number of times at not only the blind dates but also Lucky's bumbling around.
I received a copy of this book and am leaving my honest review. My opinions are all my own.
Nessa Pompeo and Lucky O’Brien are the best of friends. Lucky is getting ready to leave his life in Hollywood to go to New York. But he wants to make sure she is happy so he won’t upset her when he tells her he is leaving. He figures finding her a boyfriend is what she needs.
Nessa has been in love with Lucky for some time now. But she doesn’t want to lose his friendship, so she doesn’t tell him. She figures he doesn’t love her anyway or he wouldn’t be setting her up on all these horrible blind dates.
Lucky’s plan doesn’t seem to be working. Nessa keeps having bad dates. And Lucky is not sure why his feelings are going crazy. He at least is consoled that he can go home to his own place to take care of his broken heart in peace. Except that the eviction notice has Lucky moving in with Nessa! Will the two of them trip over their HEA now that it’s right in front of them?
This is a fun story where plans made with good intentions just don’t work out. Fate has its own plan and there seems to be no getting around it. Grab your copy and see what these two discover about their relationship and how they plan on dealing with it.
I received an ARC from the author thru Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving my review. Nessa and Lucky are good friends that evolve into much more. The story has plenty of humor, drama, friends and love. Lucky is leaving to go to the east coast but his feelings of leaving Nessa are complicated. He devises a plan to make sure she is happy before he goes. She is not fond of this plan he has, especially since she is in the dark. She has loved him for a while, it takes a few before he realizes what he is feeling. When he does, the last things he wants to do is hurt or leave her. The story has characters with a lot of chemistry and secrets. They have to trust their hearts to get the future they deserve together. I enjoyed this book

This book was so much fun to read!! I was absolutely smitten with both Lucky and Nessa from the beginning and continued down that path all the way until the very last page! Their connection as best friends was so entertaining and as things progressed from friendship to awkwardness to holy hotness I couldn’t get enough. I literally laughed out loud, yelled at my kindle and then clutched my chest all in the span of reading this book. Such a great ride! I adore the Brunch Babes and can’t wait until their next book!
He never knew why she never had a romantic distraction. He was it. But his plans to move two time zones away prove to be a problem since they are bestfriends and lean on each other repeatedly. So his genius plan to make the transition from bestfriends to friends from afar backfires when he tries to matchmake. So while thinking of her date-able attributes he realizes she's the perfect women (for him).

Nessy and Lucky is the perfect female/male friendship you want.. Until they start to catch feelings for each other.
I wanted to shake Lucky for his mistakes so many times! Yet he owns up to it and works on fixing things.
If you like friends to lovers, Get Lucky if for you. It is a slow read and you will want to scream "get it together already" but totally worth it. Just a side note, I feel like it ends on a cliffhanger. It just kinda ends. Hopefully it's explained in the other books.
This was a decent enough read, but it took the predictable friends to lovers trope almost too far with being predictable. The spice was ok, but the rest of the story fell a bit flat for me. From a detail standpoint, I felt like I was as much of a part of the conversations that the characters were (had I been in the same room as them).... but I was left without knowing or being able to picture what the room looked like (if that makes sense).
Being in love with your best friend is a kind of torture but when that best friend starts playing matchmaker? Talk about mayhem! Tessa and Lucky's story was funny, sweet, had great moments, and it just makes sense that they should be more than friends.

A funny and easy-to-read love story between Vanessa and Lucky who were best friends all their lives until their feelings change. Slow build-up with hilarious moments. But also uncertainty for both how and whether they will take the next step. Recommended

I really enjoyed this book and getting to know the characters better. There was so much angst and miscommunication in this book that it was difficult to read at times because you wanted to smack both of the lead characters. LOL Which made this book really good. To elicit those kind of emotions out of the reader is amazing. I am looking forward to the next book.
Stuff your kindle day books are such a hit and miss. And this was for sure a miss. Thank baby Jesus it was free.
It was really hard to take the characters seriously when the male character is named lucky 🤦🏽♀️ and just typing that makes me think to myself why did I continue to read?
This is the second book in the brunch babes series. This is a friends to lovers romance. Best friends soon find out if they are just friends or can they be more.

Such a cute love story! Their friendship is so pure and awesome, but then when these two turn that into something else, boy is it powerful! Really fun characters and an easy to follow storyline. I look forward to what else Jessalyn has in store for this series.
I loves the book and I loved lucky but the ending wasn't for me. I guess their story will continue on through the stories of the other girls but the ending made me reconsider continuing the series.

Encontré que la historia era muy plana y que el conflicto principal casi no tuvo sentido. Además que las fechas que se mencionaban no coincidían casi nunca.
