OMG! Great fantasy epic with massive battles led by memorable characters. THIS is how you write fantasy. This is how Black Library should model itself. I love the villains and how determined they are and how they even have setbacks and must deal with politics in their own ranks. The heroes are sympathetic and inspiring as they should be. The end is worthy of Avengers Endgame! BRAVO!

in the world of Warhammer fiction this is a 5/5, its the best version of a book that tries to include all the units from the new army - without being incredibly obvious about it. Story actually made me interested in the Bonereapers which is saying something for one of these!

Very uninteresting novel. If you really like the lumeneth you’ll probably enjoy it, but there is no real story here. There is no interesting characters and the on who are there see no development.

There are some glimpses into bone reaper lore, but you would be much, much, better of with their battletome and unless we see some of their characters in the future prepare to be let down by them.

I loved the background of Lumineth and Bonereapers but book fails to provide any interesting viewpoint on both races. Characters are rather generic and story predictable.
I gave 3 stars because it was not actually bad, just disappointing. And I love the cover art

A book that does everything right but nothing exceptionally. The cast is distinct, it has proper themes, natural consequences, and character arcs, and there's no abundance of pointless action. But nothing struck me as especially ambitious or intriguing. It's very competent, if not much else.

A good read, very interesting to see the differing cultures between the bonereapers and lumineth. The battles were well written and exciting and I enjoyed the development of the characters.

I want to go and live in a temple in Ultharadon. That says it all! Great writing, really made me feel and understand the landscapes that are so key to the setting. The descriptions of the lands is so clear and vivid, I could take almost any sentence and random and just read it out loud and luxuriate in it.
