The dead have awakened. The world is ending. This is day seven.
Our survivors face daunting odds in their quest to find a way to save the world from the brink of collapse. The dead are growing in numbers rapidly, and hope seems like a distant dream.
I write stories about the apocalypse so that I don't need to work a real job. I grew up reading Stephen King and still haven't fully recovered. I'm currently ending the world in my new series Under the Breaking Sky.

Ahhh! The end is nigh, and all the threads are coming together in an exciting, page turning day 7. This book focuses on Dan, who is busy getting back to Denmark in an attempt to end the Zombies, and Iver, who is trying to remain alive. The action is paced out well, with good character development and some emotional gut punches. To say I am frothing at the mouth like a newly turned zombie for Day 8 is not an exaggeration. I received an ARC from the author and am voluntarily leaving an honest review.
We begin Day 7 with Dan, my favorite guy, and my heart breaks for him. I have been with him every step of the way, from Day 1, of the apocalypse.
I will warn you about the characters and Nick Clausen’s ability to kill them off, no matter how brave, courageous and selfless they may be. So be leery of falling in love with any of them.
“…the human body can go three weeks without food, three days without water…and 3 minutes without oxygen.”
Does that whet your appetite for suspense?
Iver, who we met in Book 6, is still alive. YAY! He is a wonderful character, putting his life on the line to do the right thing. Getting away from the ferry was pretty amazing, but, now, they are stranded on an island…with zombies outnumbering them.
“Paranoid people live longer.”
William….When he was stranded in the car, I thought of Cujo, but he has it worse. Will he survive? I really want him to…BUT…it’s up to Nick. Is there a way, Nick?
OMG…you are killing me Nick! From beginning to end, my heart was in my throat. BUT, when I reached the cliffhanger ending, it dropped to my gut and I think it will drive me crazy having to wait until Day 8.
So much happens in each terror filled Day, it feels like weeks, months, or even years have passed. People’s true nature rises to the surface, their humanity…or inhumanity…exposed.
I voluntarily reviewed a free copy of Dead Meat: Day 7 by Nick Clausen.
Title: Dead Meat Day 7 Author: Nick Clausen Rating: 4/5
Synopsis:
It’s day 7 of the zombie outbreak and the fight for survival is getting tougher day by day. Dan, despite the odds not being in his favour, is trying to get back to Denmark with William so he can try and put and end to this outbreak. Whilst Iver is fighting to stay alive whilst on a supply run for the rest of his new formed group, not knowing that betrayal is just around the corner.
Review: I have been enthralled by all the Days in this series and feel like I have been on a real apocalyptic adventure, Nick has not disappointed me yet and I knew Day 7 would be as enjoyable as the previous reads.
Looking at the map Nick provides for us at the beginning of each read, it is evident that shit has really hit the fan with this outbreak, which made me excited to get stuck back into this series. I felt like Day 6 had hit me on a more emotional level, so I was definitely intrigued to see what crazy feelings Day 7 may stir up in me!
Nick does a fantastic job at creating strong characters, but going into Day 7 I prepared myself not to get attached for obvious reasons and I would recommend future reader’s do the same because I know Nick has that brutal side to him.
The opening was explosive once again and you are literally thrown back into the middle of it all. Nick also does a fantastic job at w riting in a way that makes it easy for you to pick the story right back up where you left off. Day 7 focuses mainly on Dan making his way back to Denmark and Iver trying to survive with his group. I liked how Day 7 was more character focused as it means you become more invested in them, but then I am left questioning if this is for the best after all knowing how close death can be in this series.
We have action from start to finish, with twists and betrayals along the way and at times it was like Nick was punching you in your gut. The short and snappy chapters also make Dead Meat a pacey instalment which you can devour in one sitting.
Once again, I can not fault Nick’s excellent writing, but one thing I will say is THE ENDING! Nick leaves you on such a hanger that means you have to pick up day 8 when it is released. Cleverly done, but frustrating when you need to know what will happen.
Though this wasn't my favorite book of the series, I still had a really great time.
This book centers on Dan, William, and Iver's perspectives. Dan and William are trying to get back to Denmark in hopes of somehow stopping this whole thing, and Iver is stuck on an island with others trying to survive.
Dan and William's POV was very chaotic this time around. I can't remember the situation getting quite as dire as they did in this book, and it really gripped my attention throughout. Iver's POV shined through once again. His character just feels very genuine, and there's always depth with his storyline. Yay for gay heroes (and for cats named RuPaul, haha)!
As with all of the books in this series, there's a lot of great action in each chapter that keeps things moving very quickly. I especially loved some of the impossible situations the characters got into. It was really tense for good deal of the book, and that kept me engaged.
If I had to nitpick at anything, I would say that in spots the action kind of took over where we could've had a bit more space for more character development. I also think there were a bit more typos in this one than all the others, but that didn't detract from my journey all that much.
Despite my minor quips, this was still a great book. There's only two more books in the series, and I have no idea how they're going to turn this situation around. Can't wait to find out!
Dan, William, and Otis are on their way back. There is a slim chance that they might stop this horror, and they are going with it. On the way, there are a lot of zombies, a few new people, not all who make it through. :)
Iver is on the run with supplies when he gets stuck in the attic with a boatload of zombies around. He gets saved, but he is not sure to trust new people.
There was a lot of Dan in the story, (which I loved - he is my favorite.. and I really hope he doesn't die :), with a few other groups sprinkle in between... I'm looking forward to how it will all come together. :)
The story is fast paces, I had to read it in one swoop... I just had to know what happens. The intensity is at the top, the stakes a higher, and the hope of outbreak to ever stop is very, very slim.
The story ends on the biggest cliffhanger ever. I couldn't believe there are any more pages after that... and now I can't wait for the next day. :)
It's a week since the zombie apocalypse began. The virus is spreading throughout Europe and it seems like it can't be stopped anymore. But Dan tries anyways. He and William are on a quest to get back to Denmark and force Dennis' mother to stop this whole thing. But will they really get there with all those zombies everywhere? We don't only accompany Dan and William but also Iver and the situation on the small island he stranded. The group is getting bigger and things get out of hands. It's super interesting to witness the situation in different places! I really like to accompany Dan and William cause you get to see how the virus spread in different regions. But I also find it interesting to observe the situation on the island and how it escalates more with every hour. I just love this series for all the different perspectives and how the story lines intertwine. Day 7 fits perfectly into the series I grew to love!
This is the next book in the Dead Meat series from Danish author Nick Clausen. It is a gritty, hyper-realistic story that gives a day-by-day account of the zombie apocalypse.
By the end of this volume, the zombie outbreak has expanded to cover most of the European continent. At the beginning of the book, Dan, his friend William, and William’s dog Ozzy are slowly making their way back to Denmark to test Dan’s theory concerning the possibility of ending the outbreak. Another storyline involves a former member of a ferryboat crew sheltering with other survivors on an isolated island in the north Atlantic. Dan and William get separated during their journey, but Dan meets a new ally who continues along with him. The book ends with a very intense cliffhanger.
I gave Dead Meat – Day 7 five stars on Goodreads. The author keeps up the pressure on all of the characters, with little let up in sight. The entire series so far has been very entertaining.
Well, I was really anticipating more of that hope that Day 6 left me with to carry through to Day 7, but it was nothing but more heart-pounding, action-packed dread and no real relief just yet.
Iver is holding his own, but things aren't looking rosy for him and little baby Adam. Things in their safe house don't seem so safe anymore. They've got to make it off the island before it becomes completely overrun, but how?
Meanwhile, Dan and William are on their way back to Denmark because Dan thinks he's figured out a way to stop the zombies. But in typical Clausen 'Dead Meat' style, their journey is fraught with peril, loss, and zombies...
I need Clausen to put me out of my misery already and get Day 8 published! I'm really hoping for a 'Dan saves the world' scenario but I'm afraid the situation will get much worse before it gets better...
I swear this series gets better and better with each book. We get an assortment of everything, from betrayal, friendships, action and being on the constant go. It is hard sometimes when we lose a favorite character but no worries, we usually get a new character that will fill that spot. There is never a slow or down moment when reading this book. You will feel like you are right there with the characters trying to help them out. As you start the story, you will not want to put it down. I love how each story weaves into the others. So what will happen with Iver an company. Will Dan be able to succeed with his mission. Can it all be stopped? We just have to wait and see what will happen and I cannot wait for it.
Day 7 continues the flow of the earlier 6 installments with a mounting and rapidly escalating global crisis. This book continues the story in glorious style. However, it also changes things up via Dan. This is a sometimes you need to go backward to go forwards book - as least so far as Dan is concerned. While they've been fighting to get away, now its time to turn around go back. The spiritual dimension is front and center now (at least for me) and makes it clear (again, at least to me) that there is little hope of evasion or waiting it out. There is still plenty of fresh action and impossible situations, with a few cliffhangers set up for Day 8.
Nooo wey. Cómo empieza el libro, me mataaa. Pobrecito Dan.

Dead Meat: Day 7 by Nick Clausen is another entry in this series where we are seeing how fast the zombie virus can spread… It’s out of hand, and now other countries are threatening to step in. But can things still be fixed, or is it far too late?
Full disclosure: I was given a free copy of this book from the author in exchange for an honest review. This did not affect my rating in any way. I also purchased a copy.
This series is so good . Its fast paced and a roller coaster of a ride . The zombies started not with any germ warfare of experiments but voodoo. Its been an absolutely gripping tale and Mr Clausen pulls no punches . I really hope that William, Dan and ozzie make it to the end of the tale . I'm really looking forward to the next book as this one was left with a massive cliff hanger .
This is an enjoyable and easy to read zombie series that has interesting characters, a defined ending, and helps the reader understand the role of hope and faith in overcoming disaster. There’s good development throughout the book series and the characters are multi dimensional. The story seems to lag occasionally and, binge reading it as I did, find some of the scenes to be repetitive. However overall I really enjoyed the series and I’m happy I picked up the multiple compilation.
This series is both frustrating and SO good! It's very realistic. I enjoy the banter between characters. The critique I would give is that the author frequently uses "Jesus Christ" as a swear and I've never vibed with that. I'm including it into my review because a lot of people I've come across in reading groups seem to have the same issue I do with that. I will still finish the series. I just try and gaslight myself into pretending I didn't see it lol.
I couldn't put it down! Day 7 is a quick read that focuses on Dan and William as they try and get back to Denmark, and Iver, who is just doing his best to stay alive during his supply run. Zombies are still attacking as our storyline progresses, and we meet a few new characters along the way. I don't know how many more days are left, but I'm dying to know what happens to everyone in Day 8!
Day 7 feels weaker than the previous entry. I’m starting to get a bit bored with the constant introduction of throwaway characters, and it’s wearing thin. Additionally, the reintroduction of a certain character felt out of place, especially with their complete 180 in personality. While the series still has its moments, this one didn’t hit as hard.
I really did not expect to like this series. I was in a zombie mood. This is one of the best I've read. So good! I literally cannot wait till June for book 8! You never know what will happen next and the characters are just awesome!
The story is still good but I felt like the last couple of chapters were dragging. I'm ready for more action to happen. Hopefully in the next book, things will get restarted.
Day 7 by Nick Clausen. Dead meat series book 7. Wow another brilliant fast pasted action read. I love this series. Just keeps getting better and better. I like Dan. Looking forward to the next book. 5*.
Things are heading towards a conclusion... or are they. I never know where this story will head next. The cast of characters has greatly dwindled and only a handful are left. Who will survive and who won't? Two more days to find out!
My summer Zombie read. It was different. I have had many sources for epidemics. But never a voodoo one. It was okay. I read the entire series. So it had that going for it.
