I enjoyed this book. Ghost and Cassidy are good characters but the story was a bit on the cutzy side. There was some suspense and I’d like to know more about Alex and Kara’s pack.
It's an OK story, but the end felt a bit abrupt, especially since the danger from her ex is over at the 50% mark, and then they do stuff, but nothing happens, they move, and his brother confronts him, which was made to be big, only for the fight to be hinted at, and the book ends. Another thing that bothered me is that often the scene would change from one line to the next, without any space in between whatsoever. For example:
“You’re too good.” She snuggled deeper into the pillows. “Later on, you can tell me more.” I squeezed her hip before I got out of bed. “Isn’t there anybody who can come while you go out?” She was looking in the freezer, trying to decide what to make for dinner.
Wasn't she in bed? Hadn't they just woken up? Before this they were talking about how she liked her coffee! And now they're making dinner and not breakfast? and many more like that. It was confusing.
There were a few things that turned me off of this book. The first was a throwaway statement from a child about someone having a g*n. It was very random and seemed completely out of context with no explanation. The way the FMC is described by the MMC. It was that “she’s not a typical beauty but i still like her” bs that’s supposed to be a compliment but isn’t. Also editing errors I can normally ignore, but when you spell the character’s name one way, 2 pages later another, and then 2 LINES LATER the first way again, it really takes you out of the story. Also the FMC is a victim of DV and the MMC says he wants her to feel like he’s stalking her when he’s talking about how close he wants to be with her physically and it felt really gross, especially considering her abusive ex was stalking her. Also the MMC being all “YOU’LL DO WHAT I SAY WHEN I SAY” was so forceful and just no.
Definitely came into this world in the middle. While I enjoyed Ghost and Cassidy's story there were things that seamed a little to vague or incomplete. It was written well, but since this is part of a going or offshoot of existing world, the author is assuming that the reader is up to speed on most characters. Not so for this reader. I enjoyed this enough that I am going to read the first Novus book. It took me awhile to figure out the difference between Novus Pack and Novus Pack World since both start at Book 1, but I think it is/will be worth my time and $$.
This was an interesting couple and an interesting continuation of the Novus Pack stories. I felt like it could have been fleshed out a little bit more, there were relationships alluded to with the pack, that really just got left on the table. I look forward to having more glimpses with this couple in the future
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily. Ghost was an engaging and enjoyable read, filled with compelling characters and a story that kept me hooked from start to finish. The writing was immersive, and I loved the way it made me feel completely transported into its world!
I enjoyed the story line, and the strong women. The characters were developed for the most part. A couple of the side issues co u of have been developed more fully to enrich the whole story. Great read.
This book is short and sweet with everything ending happily every time. Some of the wording was a bit odd but I loved the characters and story. This is good for a cute romantic read with low spice.
