About the author

ZELDA KNIGHT is a USA Today Bestselling author of spicy and diverse sci-fi and fantasy romances. She’s also an award-winning editor (Locus, British Fantasy & World Fantasy). This anthology offers a bit of everything, each engaging in it's own way. From finding your lost mate and ruling together, to a RH where her men fought to protect her. Paranormals who worked together to escape prison, a jaguar shifter helping his mate while fighting demons, mermaids who love sweets, and so much more. I really enjoyed the story Wings; specifically the main character's gargoyle sidekick.

The steam levels are everywhere, some contributions are very steamy and others so sweet. I enjoyed almost all of the stories, but there were a couple that I could not finish due to struggling to engage or it was not in my comfort zone. Another thing that works for this anthology is the unique settings in each story. It is definitely worth reading and will introduce you to several authors.

I opened this anthology with almost no prior knowledge of most of the authors participating. I close the covers now ravenous to know more about all their work. Every one of these stories showcased a unique viewpoint on the wide world of shape shifting and I was utterly enchanted by them all. They cover a broad spectrum from humorous to serious and all facets in between. One thing they all seemed to have in common was that I didn’t want to leave the world when each story was done. Once again, it looks like my wish list is about to grow exponentially.

Wings by Sofia Aves (4 stars)
This is a story story about Clarrissa as she investigates a missing body, with her gargoyle sidekick, Murch.
I enjoyed the bickering between the two characters as they looked into the mystery. There is an element of time manipulation that confused me a bit. It does end a little abruptly (but is complete) but there is more to come from these characters so definitely an introduction.

Lion's Bride by Imanj Jay (4 stars)
This is a complete story of fated mates who have been kept apart but are determined to be together again. A quick paced but enjoyable story.

A fun anthology full of shifters from multiple authors, some I have already read and some I need to check out more of their books. They ranged from the typical 2 person fated mates to multiple fated mates stories. Some made me laugh out loud, some sigh and some just shake my head at people. Some were a quick read as more like a prequel while others were more novella length book 1 in a series. Some were more steamy then others too All were easy and entertaining to read. A few made me want to check out more from the authors and really want the next book in the series. All different shifters were represented here.

Wings

The Shifter Romance Anthology which includes Sofia Aves’ short story ‘Wings’, is flying off the shelves. This story is funny with mystery and a stone bat shifter that’s very sarcastic. Clarissa is a private investigator that has a partner named Murch aka the stone bat shifter. A dead body has gone missing and Clarissa must find it to try and prove the alleged murder suspect of their innocence. This is a funny unusual book that’s very entertaining. Highly recommended and definitely a MUST read!

This anthology is an collection of magical shapeshifters tales filed with gargoyles, tigers, lions, dragons and mermaids. There is a story for everyone and you will not be disappointed.

My favorite story was Wings by Sofia Aves. It is about a private investigator named Clarissa and her stone bat shifter sidekick named Murch as they investigate a missing dead body. I really enjoyed reading this story and I love the sarcastic banter between Clarissa and Murch. I felt the book ended abruptly though and I left wanting more. I cannot wait for more stories with both of them.

I love shifter stories and this is a collection with all kinds of shifters who's finding their fated mates. All these stories bring fantasy to life. I couldn't stop reading! There are just so many wonderful storie which were wonderfully described.
There is a story for everyone and you will not be disappointed. I thoroughly enjoyed this anthology, so read them and make up your own mind about it. I highly recommend this collection.

This is a group of paranormal shifter stories that has something for everyone. Each story takes you on a different journey into the shifter world. Some stories stood out more than others and what I liked may not mean as much to you. These stories did make me want to check out the authors who wrote them to see what else they had written. It’s nice to read different interpretation of shifter life. I didn’t feel like there was a set formula that had to be followed making this an enjoyable read.

I received a free copy and I am reviewing voluntarily. I give 3.5 stars. This was not a bad book by any means. Some of the stories are really good and some feel like the middle was left out. This is a book about shifters, is heavy on the grafic, steamy, and non traditional. It did have some editing problems that I felt interfered with reading a bit. All in all this was not my cup of tea but if it is yours give it a read. The cover is gorgeous!

An anthology is difficult to rate since there is a mix of authors, stories, and skill. This book had a few really good stories, one that was so badly written/edited that it was hard to read, and the rest were in between.

It provided a chance to taste the works of authors who were new to me. That provided some pleasant moments.

Some of the stories were more like novellas that short stories.

It's worth the investment of the time to read it.

What a great anthology! Loads of different authors all giving you a terrific story tied to the theme. I couldn't stop reading! There are just so many wonderful stories that I couldn't pick a favorite, even if my life depended on it. They're all so great! I highly recommend it to any lover of excellent storytelling.

As with most anthologies, the stories are hit or miss. There are a variety of shifters involved and some meet their mates in unusual (or trying) circumstances. But, there are no truly bad stories. And there is always a happy ending.

Misleading

I chose this anthology because it was advertised as a collection of paranormal shifter romances with Black characters. Only the first in the anthology actually fit the description. It is also the ONLY reason I gave one star. That selection was great; the rest I could not finish.
