When we crashed on an ice world, I killed my A'kai master. With few supplies and no food, I decide to take shelter in an nearby cave to wait out a snowstorm.
As soon as I enter, a low growl tells me that I'm not alone.
Luken is a wolf shifter, and the alpha of his Lycaon Clan.
The moment his eyes meet mine, he claims I'm his fated one--his Akima.
I can't deny the pull I feel toward him, but I'm not sure I'm ready to be his. Not after everything I've been through.
The more time we spend together, I begin to wonder: what would it be like to be fated to a wolf?
USA Today bestselling author, Jessica Grayson writes scifi and fantasy romance with strong heroines and the otherworldly heroes that cannot help but fall in love with them.
She lives with her husband, cat and dog in the San Antonio, TX area. In addition to reading and writing scifi romance, she loves swimming, chai and dark chocolate.
Another AWESOME book in this series that takes fairytale creatures such as vampires, fairies and werewolves and places them in An alien setting.
I absolutely freaking adored how the hero rescued the heroine, how he protected and cherished her. She was his everything. It took the heroine a while to warm up to the hero, as she had been traumatized by her slave masters, but once she was able to see past her fear, she gave herself wholeheartedly to him. I also loved that when he was injured, she was able to care for him.
Can’t recommend this series enough. I adore the fact that it’s totally safe, double virgins and that’s hard to find in sci-fi romance where sliming around with losers seems to be a theme.
Only so few stars as lots of things bothered me in this story. Most important one is that the Lycaon Lore seems kind of copy/pasted from all the other older stereotypical Wolf shifter / fated mates tropes. There was nothing original about it. And nothing convincing. It felt kind of lackluster. Second: the author bend over twice it seemed to turn that fated bond thingy around to guarantee all the free will and consent and politically correct independence of the woman. But it was just that: the front magazine picture of it not the reality. Sadly this trope again only manifests the outdated gender role perspectives and does not give any freedom and all accepting decisions making to the woman. She is again a female who's only wish in life is to be partnered to a man and bear his children and be the lifegiver she is destined to be and wants to be. As this is the only reason for a woman to exist. This is brainwashing really. And from female authors to female readers. Why? If even in fiction these gender roles do not change the real life won't either. Ever. Third: to also rant about the male part. Why is it still that women are supposed to want a male that provides for her? And that he is supposed to love that? Nowadays everyone can do that themselves. Relationships should be based on other things than those basic instincts. Sure in the story it fits as to their surroundings, but mirrored to our own world: there is so much more to people and life itself to provide a huge range on things people can build their relationships on. Not on protection, food, sex and procreation. What does this say about the author and also the readers? Why do you want to keep living like this and expecting others to live like this?
.....
In regards to Elain and Luken: mate bond my a.... she was a slave, had been used and abused by the Akai and then gets rescued. She has a trauma. She is a victim. Of course she clings to the person who rescues her. But no amount of explaining away with crew and survival bonding crap this is just simply Stockholm Syndrome she is experiencing. The right thing to do would be to have her taken to a base, getting her into therapy and based on its success a few years later she might be able to form "normal" relationships again. But this, this is just ridiculous.
A wormhole tore the ship apart and it crashed on an ice planet. With human blood slaves available, the A’kai vampire masters, mind-controlling touch telepaths, fed on the women by forcing a painful intrusive mind link, so it is important that Elain and Violet escape. But Elain falls and damages her ankle and cannot run anymore. But the A’kai masters can’t swim and they are close to a river. If they can reach it, they can avoid capture. Then the A’kai fire on them and Elain takes a hit to protect Violet who does not want to leave her behind. But she must, and then A’kai grabs Elain. But a huge wolf leaps and takes down the A’kai as the two fight. Elain drags herself over to the blaster and aims, shooting the A’kai in the chest. The wolf rips it apart, then turns to her. Just as she prepares to shoot before she loses consciousness, he speaks into her mind, “No, I am not your enemy.”
As Luken stares at the woman, the Mate Bond snaps into place. She is his Lynara, his Fated One. Luken is a wolf shifter, the Alpha of his Lycaon pack. When another A’kai runs out of the woods toward his mate, he knocks it down, standing on its chest as his Mate hobbles away using a branch to keep weight off her leg. The A’kai tries to use touch telepathy against Luken, but the wolves are immune. He kills the A’kai and tracks Elain to where she has passed out. He carries her into a cave as the blizzard increases outside. Then he cleans and cares for her wounds and presses his wolf body against her to keep her warm.
Elain does find herself attracted to the wolf, especially as she begins to trust him more and he saves her life from a fierce snowcat. But she is terrified of being held captive again and is slow to trust. Spending more time with him, will she be able to fall in love with the devoted wolf, Luken, who loves her and wants only the best for her? Can she accept a future with him?
Elain was abducted by aliens and she was auctioned off as a slave. She and a bunch of other human women were bought by the A'kai, a race of psychic vampires. With just one touch, they can control the woman and make them do anything they want. They are also using them as their source of blood. Then the ship crashes on an alien planet and the A'kai and humans are seperated into small groups. Elain and her friend Violet are in an escape pod with some A'kai. Then Violet and Elain get a chance to escape and start running Elain gets badly hurt and sends Violet on without her. Elain is determined to save her friend from being recaptured. She kills one of the A'kai but a second one is about to attack when a huge wolf comes to her rescue. Elain does her best to help kill the A'kai and then sneak off to a cave for shelter. She is shocked to wake up and find herself naked and bandaged up with a strange man wathing her. He tells her his name is Luken and he is a Lycaon alpha who can change into a giant wolf. He also claims that she is his destined mate, Elain has lost most of her trust in people and isn't sure if he can be trusted. She just wants to be reunited with her friends and be safe from the A'kai
Luken is the alpha of the Luken clan that has crashed an the alien planet a few cycles ago. His people have an agreement with another race that their new mission is to track down the human women captured by the A'kai and rescue them. He is surprised to discover that when he finds a human woman about to be attacked by an A'kai, that she is his fated mate. He notices that human women are mostly defenseless and fragile so he will do everything he can to care for and protect his fated mate. Then he learns that humans don't have fated mates and that he will have to win her human style.

The writing and editing of the ARC version of the manuscript was clean, with no typos that I found and well constructed sentences. The world building was fascinating, with the culture of the Lycaon coming to vivid life. I think this was may favorite novel so far in this series, since the Lycaons were a new species that I had not encountered before in this author’s work. The characterization was good, with both the hero and heroine being sympathetic individuals with some nuance, especially the heroine. The development of the romantic relationship was sweet and swoony. This novel had a heat level of four chili peppers, due to some non-human anatomy. The plot was action packed and exciting, which meant the pacing flew by. This novel was low angst and high stakes throughout, which tends to be one of my preferred narrative structures for a romance novel. This novel used the Fated Mates trope and the Partner in Trouble trope. The world building, plot, and pacing were all four stars. The characterization and development of the romantic relationship were also four stars. I therefore gave this novel a combined rating of four stars. This novel ended on a Happy Ever After ending instead of a cliffhanger ending, which was a big plus. I recommend this novel to readers who enjoy sweet, devoted heroes and plenty of action in their sci-fi romances. I am really looking forward to reading the next book in this series, since I think the hero of that one will be A’kai. Gasp! I plan to buy myself a keeper copy of this novel.

I really enjoyed reading this book, it had me hooked from the start. The relationship between Elain and Luken at first was very tense as Elain didn’t trust him, not after everything that happened with the A’kai. After proving himself to her she learns to trust him and they bond quite fast although they don’t mate straight away. Once he frees her from the A’kai chasing her, he takes her to a cave where he protects her from any predators who come close and from the freezing cold. They must stay there until the storm abates and when she gets her period they must stay until it is finished so the A’kai can’t track her scent and find them. When they leave they are attacked but Luken makes it back to his pack and the protection is has. When they go to free the Terran females from the V’loryns they are shocked to find they are there of their own free will. When an alliance is offered they accept and all join as one pack in the Mosaurans mountain base and vow to free the remaining terrans. When an A’kai asks for help for his mate they don’t know what to think, they lock him up and are waiting for the female to wake up from healing. That is the next book and I can’t wait to read it.

This is the 4th book in this series but I was able to fully enjoy it without first reading the earlier books. This is also the first book that I have read by this author. This is the story of Luken and Elain. Luken is a wolf shifter, and the alpha of his Lycaon Clan. He along with his small pack have been trapped on this planet. Elain is a human engineer who has been abducted and kept prisoner. When her ship crashes with her abductor A'kai she makes her escape. When it seems like she will be recaptured and kept as a blood food source, Luken saves her. Luken and his pack are seeking out the A'kai to destroy them and free their hostages. Luken realizes that she is his fated mate right away. Elain, being human doesn't feel the same way. After being abused for so long, Elain no longer believes in trusting or having faith in anyone else. After a severe snowstorm traps them together for a few days; Luken tries to earn Elain's trust and respect. This is their story. There is lots of action and adventure. As well as a slow burn romance. This book is well written and easy to read. I really enjoyed it.

I loved this book! I've read every book in this series so far, and Luken is my favorite male lead. Oh, he won my heart hard! He was just so sweet and caring, respectful and thoughtful. He and Elain were perfect for each other. Even when injured Elain was brave- a fighter. In the last book, Elain and another woman were fleeing the A'kai, but when Elain was too injured to escape, she forces the other woman to flee. She was the heroine of the last book and felt so guilty over leaving Elain behind. I was so happy this book is Elain's story and we can see how she survived nearly being killed. Of course I was super excited to see a book revolving the Lycaon race. I loved seeing Luken's pack interacting together. It was really sweet and you can really feel the warmth and family bonds between them. I loved the ending of this book. It was exactly what I was hoping for, plus a little extra. I don't know how I'll survive another month until the next book. Excellent story. I definitely recommend reading this (and the three books that come before it). 5 stars.
As with all the books I have ever read from this author they contain a magical quality that I just can't put my finger on. The races of characters, the descriptions of the world and it's circumstances as brilliant. Elain has been taken from her large family and been held as a blood slave to the A'kai, a vampiric species who are just hideous beings! When she finds herself and her friend Violet crashing on a planet they have a slim chance at freedom. Elain helps Voilet get away but is too injured to follow and is fighting for her life against an A'kai when a huge wolf rips him to shreds. Luken, in his Wolven form, sees a beautiful Terran desperately trying to escape and cannot help but try to save her. He eliminates him but then finds himself looking down the barrel of the blaster the Terran has aimed at him. As he tells himself that she is safe now, his composure is shaken when he realises that she heards his thoughts which means only one thing, she is his mate, his Lynara. Now all he has to do is get her to trust him, let him claim her and be his for ever more. Simple right?
Exiting 4th addition to the Ice World Warrior series as the adventure continues with another one of the groups of different species stranded together on an ice planet after having been pulled into a worm hole. This one engages the reader from the opening page with its well written narrative and lead protagonists who meet while the heroine Elain is fleeing her A’Kai capturers. Wolf Shifter Luken saves her life and the hot and sultry male soon discovers Elain is his Lynara, Fated Mate. There is plenty of action, suspense, and adventure that balance this fast paced story out solidifying the excellent and imaginative storyline while stoking this readers hunger for more in this excellent Sci-Fi Romance series. HEA

Enjoyed the main characters. Loved the pack. Not so the speed of communication btw the packs. Made no logical sense. Felt like one of human women would have slapped sense in one of them earlier. A small dislike of mine is the author repeating (in one form or another) the “defenseless humans”, weak but “strong” lines. Felt fake. No way a predatory species would believe this way. The way the different women responded was also the same. No way all the women would want to go into danger, especially if traumatized. Many would say he’ll no not going to confront captures, wild animals. Or even want to go out in cold. Did not like how abrupt the ending was. Should have more about the pact.
This is the first book I read by this author and I thought it was a great book.
There are many different aliens. On this mysterious planet. The story grabs you right away. It was nice to see where the story of Elain and Luken is going. The aliens have only one goal and that is to save the female humans who have crashed and who have been enslaved again by a very cold-blooded alien species. Or because of their enemy they have in common.
The attraction and chemistry between them is well described and the characters and characters are also wonderfully articulated . This book is highly recommended and well worth reading. So much is happening is too much to list .

Loving this ice world series! A cold and unforgiving world full of dangerous creatures from earth’s myths, legends and fairy tails! A new ship full of vile(vampire) aliens with a bunch of human/Terran captives crashes onto the planet. One by one the humans are rounded up and rescued from their captors and claimed as mates by the several species of enemy aliens that are trapped (previously crashed due to a nearby unstable wormhole) on this ice planet. Each keep to themselves, but the Terran females are slowly forcing them to work together to find all their friends and then to combine resources to get them all off of this cold icy planet!
A mysterious planet with different aliens and one goal: to save all female humans who crashed and are enslaved by one common enemy; a cold blooded alien species. I like this series!! i just wish there was more differences between our heroes. At times I found them having the same dialogue when describing their feelings or professing their everlasting love. They did have a few outstanding unique worthy scenes. I just wanted more! im greedy like that 😅. Each can be read as a standalone. If you like Insta-love romance then this one is for you! 🐺
I’m loving this series and this is Elain’s and Luken’s story. The A’kai masters are vampire aliens they use the Terran females as blood bags and slaves, when Elain and Violet escape they are running through the snow but Elain trips and gets shot so she tells Violet to keep running and she does. The A’kai grabs Elain ready to kill her when she is saved by a werewolf a Lycaon and from there they run for their lives but you can find their adventure out for yourself. This is a fantastic story I loved the characters and I highly recommend this book/ series.
OMG, this had me laughing so hard when Luken and Elain were having misunderstandings because of differences between being human (Elain) and being Lycaon (Luken, think werewolf alien). The scene when she gets her period was absolutely amazing, I could relate to her pain, and the confusion that poor Luken experienced. Absolutely loved the character development, and it was awesome to see characters from previous books in the series.

I really enjoyed this book. There were funny moments too.
All the hero wants to do is take care of her. He keeps trying to feed her, keep her warm, give her massages.
SPOILER SPOILER SPOILER
The first time she gets her period the hero smells the blood and thinks she's been attacked. He is horrified to learn she will bleed for 5 days between her legs and keeps trying to help her. He washes the rags she uses to catch the blood, he gives her back massages, he keeps telling her to take a bath in the hot springs to help with her cramps. It's really nice of the hero.
This is an Ice World Warriors Book 4 love story for Luken the wolf shifter and Elain. Okay I love this series and just go giddy at every new book. Each one of them holds danger and the unknown. I loved how protective these two are other each other and even though Elain is human she is still strong and brave.

I've been waiting to read this book and it didn't dissapoint. Luken was sweet but primal and Elain was brave. I liked how she didn't accepted him immediately like the other girls, he had to gain her trust first. It was funny how when Elain had her period Luken though she was attacked, he was totally devoted and caring with her. It was good to see that finally the other species got over their ridiculous prejudices and went to live together in the mosauran base.
I’m a sucker for werewolf books so I gave this series another chance given that the first two books were repetitive and basically the same story with minor differences and while this one is still similar at least it attempted to make it slightly different even if still a little repetitive. And while it brings the other characters together in the end the series isn’t very good at expanding the world building with each set of characters.
I enjoyed both how this story stands on its own, yet links with the stories in the series that have come before and are yet to come. This story is a great combo of exciting and romantic; Elain worked so hard to be strong and independent, yet Lukken still went out of his way to be doting and caring. A sweetly romantic story with some spice and plenty of excitement.
The fourth book in the Ice World Warriors series a well written story with a very good storyline. Lycaons Wolven Luken and human Elain's story of suspense, drama, danger, twists, turns, villains, and romance. I want to read the next book. What a great, fast-paced werewolf adventure. I really enjoyed the characters in this story and the world building was well written. I've become a recent fan of Jessica Grayson's books and the stories she creates. Well done.

I have eagerly awaited each story in this series and I have not been disappointed! Though I hate to be excited to read about someone who has been harmed, she is able to overcome this experience and thrive with her fated mate(though she didn’t know that at the beginning!).

Love getting each woman's story, even if it's not rh
Nice, quick read. Similar to the others. Terror of the akai, nightmares, slowly learning to trust their new mate, falling in love and convincing their mate to get along with the other groups, to better hunt the akai and rescue more Terrans
This sci-fi romance is absolutely wonderful! Loved it!! Danger, adventure, and heartwarming romance. I would definitely choose one of these huggable wolves!

This has probably been my favorite book in the series. I liked the interaction with other characters in this book and not having the two main characters stranded the whole time.
This book is part of a series. Its better if you read the other books first. Luken and Elain are fated mates, but shes not sure at first. A good read. Would recommend this book
