Silvia Albert Sopale is a Basque actress and playwright of Afrodescendant

origin. Born in San Sebastián in 1976 to a Nigerian father and an Equatorial Guinean mother, she graduated from the School of Drama in Murcia.

She appeared on stage in 1999 for the first time and since then has also worked in numerous plays, films and series, but she especially stands out for being the co-creator and interpreter of the play No Country for Black Women. It is her first unipersonal work in which she delves into questions of identity and black subjectivity, sexuality and racism through her own personal experiences growing up as an Afrodescendant woman in Spain.

In addition to her work as an actress and playwright, she has founded the Hibuscus Association of Afrodescendant people and Afro-Spanish women and the Collective Tinta Negra of actors of the African diaspora. She has recently co-created the theatre company "We are not Whoopi Goldberg" along with other Afrodescendant women.
