Micah and Fox weren’t each other’s first choice - but might they be the last?

Easygoing Micah takes the role of peacemaker at the Haven Hotel, where he's one of the long-standing escorts. But beneath his tolerance he’s hiding turmoil and anger he daren’t let loose—the last time it got the better of him, his whole family fractured. However, on one fateful night, Micah strikes back at an abusive client, and also finds startling passion with a pop star travelling incognito. Blindsided by both, his life is never going to be the same.

Fox's band is an online sensation, just about to break into live events. A talented songwriter with his career on the rise, he’s held the band together since they were all in college. So why does his public life now fill him with dread, threatening to rob him of his precious voice? Seeking anonymous comfort at the Haven, he’s mistakenly paired with Micah, and what was meant to be a straightforward business transaction affects him in a way he never imagined.

Two confused men in need of love and understanding—can they find it together?

A novel in the Love at the Haven series. Each novel is a standalone romance and HEA, but the characters may make brief appearances in other books. And watch out for additional fun short stories in the series!

Favourite so far in the series

I think this might be my favourite so far. I loved Micah and how caring and protective he is. I also enjoyed how Fox developed and became more sure of himself as the story progressed. Definitely recommend.

This was another excellent installment in the Haven series. Micah was a sweet and supportive friend, brother, and son. He was always looking out for others, and put them before himself. While working at the Haven, he meets Fox. Fox is a music star who isn't loving the glamorous life. The two make a real connection, and definitely have some obstacles in their way before finding their HEA. I loved Micah as a character. He was someone I would want to have on my side. Great read, awesome characters, and fantastic setting. I love the Haven.

I have to confess I betaed this one. If you think rent boy romances aren't for you think again.
Set in the UK, it's got an authentic London feel, and it's written with the author's typical wit and charm. Micah is a tart with a heart, doing what he must to provide for his Mum and siblings, but he seems to really care about his regulars too, whether they want to play chess, have a naked tea party, or just get out of their heads. It's got realistic kids, an outrageous best friend, and a reluctant Youtube pop sensation.
It's just lovely.
And it made me cry.
Honestly, it's literally in my beta notes.

“Micah” is part of a larger series tied to the Haven Hotel, which is a gathering place for a chosen family of escorts and hotel staff. It’s a great premise, and it’s well worth it to read the other books. This one, as the title implies, follows Micah, a gentle, good-natured young man who works multiple jobs, including escorting, to provide for his family. His past hasn’t been perfect, and he has complicated feelings about some of his own actions and emotions, but he’s probably the only person who can’t clearly see exactly how good-hearted he really is. Fox, his undercover pop-star client, needs all of the kindness and empathy Micah has to offer, and I liked how much Micah was able to help him face some hard truths about his own circumstances. A fair amount of the drama of the novel comes from those circumstances-- up-and-coming musical fame comes with some heavy strings for Fox-- and it makes for a gripping story. I loved the way it resolved, and that Micah and Fox get their happily ever after, but I did feel like their relationship made some big leaps: they never really talk about their feelings for each other and there doesn’t to be any meaningful step between “client relationship with the potential for feelings” and “all or nothing commitment,” which felt like a bit of a disservice to them both. Overall, however, it’s an enjoyable story with protagonists who are easy to like.

Micah is the third book in the ‘Love at the Haven’ series. It stars Micah, an escort at the Haven, and Fox, a singer/songwriter of an up-and-coming band. The story is told in first person from Micah and Fox’s pov.

“Music touches us emotionally, where words alone can’t.” ~ Johnny Depp

Micah is a good guy. He loves his mother and siblings and does whatever he can to help them. Micah works two jobs, one as a factory worker and the other as a rent boy. He doesn’t mind being a rent boy. He enjoys sex and, usually, the men he entertains are okay. After a particularly intense night, a client, Fox, comes in late. Micah is the only one available so he takes the job. Little does he know that the connection he and Fox feel will be so overwhelming.

When Fox comes into the Haven, there is so much commotion that he almost turns and walks out. Because of an interview that ran long, he is late. He is apologetic but insistent; he really needs this “service” tonight. He is not in the closet, but their band manager doesn’t want him advertising his sexuality either, so it is simpler to get his needs met at the Haven. Fox is used to getting right down to business but Micah wants to find out what he likes. When Fox has a panic attack, Micah’s compassion and the way he is able to soothe Fox endears Micah to him. The time they spend together turns out to be easy and mutually fulfilling, an experience he wouldn’t mind repeating.

Micah knows that Fox isn't using his real name, but it’s not the first time one of his clients has had something to hide. Whatever it is, it’s overwhelming. His stress is reflected in the tightness of his voice, much less his body. The panic attack Fox has proves to Micah that he is right about his assumption. Micah does all he can to ensure that Fox feels safe and relaxed. Fox sees Micah’s keyboard in the corner; that leads to a discussion about their mutual love of music although Micah has no idea Fox is a famous musician. After Fox leaves, Micah feels a sense of regret that he has never felt before for a client. It isn’t until his younger brother shows him a music video staring Fox and his band that Micah learns who he is. He thinks back to when they shared Micah’s music and feels embarrassed, angry, and deceived.

Stella did an amazing job of telling Micah and Fox’s story. They are stunningly hot together while evoking strong emotions in each other at the same time. It was a very sexy combination. Aside from that, the tale reminds us all of how important it is to set our priorities in life in order to ensure happiness. Thanks, Stella, for another sizzling selection in the ‘Love at the Haven’ series.

I've been intrigued by the men at The Haven from the beginning with their personalities and unknown backstories. I was looking forward to Micah's story with all the hints of still waters running deep, his ability to keep the peace, the music he brought to the hotel, and his generally calm nature. He maintained all those things in this story, but I felt they got lost within all the drama that was often overdramatic rather than a byproduct of more organic conflicts.

This was the most juvenile story of the series, though with how the characters were written, especially Micah, that shouldn't have been the case. Both Fox and Micah didn't do a ton of growing in the story despite it having adequate page time to do so. Fox was definitely young and sheltered and found difficulty standing up for himself until things really came to a head. He had to make a lot of difficult choices and so his maturing was there, though off page. Micah had a lot of life under his belt for being so young, and a lot of hardship to face. But when faced with hard personal choices he ran. Can't say I was a fan of that.

For Micah to throw the appropriateness of their relationship due to obligations and responsibilities, basically laying selfishness at Fox's feet, was a low move yet one he should have taken to heart as well. Seeing him do nothing to fix his issues as he said he needed to in the same breath as chastising Fox to do the same was an unfortunate misstep as it decreased Micah's appearance of maturity and resolve. All ended up well, but the journey there was crisis after crisis softened only in The Haven's Room 2 where both Fox and Micah could let down the walls and be themselves without shame or pretense.

Micah: Love at the Haven is the third book in the series by author Stella Shaw. I love love love, can I say love again, this series. I am a huge romantic, and I especially love when characters reoccur in a series. This book is just that type of reading. Yes, you really should read the books in order, but you could get the jest of the story by just reading this one. For me, though it is the whole experience, and I am glad I read the books in order.

Micah is the hotel’s peacemaker. He usually is the easy-going type of guy. But he does have a temper, he usually keeps it tightly under control. He knows the price he has to pay if his anger gets the best of him.

I liked Micah he is a truly nice person who has been through some stuff and come out the other side.

Fox or aka Fred is a songwriter and pop star. He is incognito right now. So, he is trying to hide himself. Or maybe this just gives him the chance to be more of who he truly is rather than what the world wants from him. But he finds Micah to be the one person he would risk the truth for.

Again, it is the connections and emotional pull that keep me coming back to this great series. I loved this book and am impatiently waiting for the next book in the series.

This is the third book in the series, and as the others have done so, this one includes all of the men at the Haven. It’s always nice to see more of them than just one book out of the series.

I was happy to have Micah’s story be next, as he intrigued me the most at this point. He is a great guy, who’s just working as hard as he can to help his family it. He has some demons to fight, though.

Fox was a mystery the moment he came into the hotel. With his ‘traditional disguise of a star’ (glasses and a hood/hat) it made me chuckle that Tom said something about it. There was an instant spark of attraction for both Fox and Micah, and they seemed drawn to each other after spending time together. I thought their relationship was sweet and they were just what each other needed to help them navigate through their demons.

This was another entertaining addition to the series. While it can be read as a stand-alone, I really think starting from the beginning will give you the most enjoyment. They are all easy to read stories with likable characters.

I really, really loved this book! It's my favourite in the series so far.
Micah is such a darling, gentle soul.

This episode/installment is far more focused on the two main characters than the prior books, with less of what's going on in the background.
This helped to get truly invested in the characters and their budding romance.
This story has everything I look for in a romance. Lovely, likeable characters, good solid plot. Enough drama to keep you interested from start to finish and some well executed steamy scenes.
Aaand... TOM! I do so love the (side) character of Tom. (I want to take him home). Although his part is not huge, his presence is always felt in each book in the series so far...
without overwhelming the stories.
I do hope he gets his own HEA one day.
I have no more to add, except, read this book! It's wonderful!
Highly recommend.

° Can be read as a standalone.
° Heat :around 3.5 🔥 for explicit scenes of intimacy.
° Dual POV
° Disclaimer : I received a complementary copy of this title via Stella's arcs and have willingly and voluntarily read and reviewed.

Another Wonderful Story from the Haven Hotel

This series just keeps getting better and the rent boys are the sweetest ever, one big family all looking out for each other with the big beautiful Rick at the head of the family watching all their backs, now with the help of his partner Elliot.

The whole relationship between Micah and Fox was beautifully and sensitively written from their first meeting, which must have been fate because Fox was booked to see Liam, where Micah was so caring and intuitive to Fox’s anxiety and handled his panic attack with such calm reassurance you could feel the connection already taking shape. They made a lovely couple and were a good fit.

I love Tom he is such a character and his choice of clothes is unique, leggings with puppies all over them😂 but I do worry about him as he takes risks and doesn’t seem so self aware as the others!

I wonder whose story we will be getting next? I can’t help but worry about Rick as all his chicks are leaving the nest one by one!

I enjoyed the characters in this book. Both Michah and Fox were sympathetic characters who endeared themselves to me right away. Micah is a rent boy with a heart who has had the good fortune to not be working on the streets but in the well run Haven Hotel. Fox is a pop star on the rise but not comfortable in that role. I thought the characters were a little quick developing a connection on their first meeting but the story developed well with us being introduced to Micah's family and back story but there was very little mention of Fox's family. Perhaps we'll meet them again in another book and learn more. When the pivotal point in the story was reached I was pleased to be surprised. I really hadn't seen that coming. There is some mild angst and a good bit of steam. We meet Tom, an unusual character who I'm sure we'll learn more about in the future. Anyone who wears leggings with puppies on them deserves more page time. All in all a very enjoyable read which I can highly recommend.
This book was given to me in return for a free and unbiased review.

Rent boy Micah's life revolves around watching out for his family and friends. His newest client Fox is a rising musician, struggling with the demands being made on him and the resulting anxiety. Both young men find joy in music, and a strong bond begins to form between them.
This is a great series, and this is an emotional addition. Despite their unusual start, Micah and Fox are good for each other. Micah resists the idea that he could fit into Fox's future pop star life, a life Fox isn't sure he even wants. Both men feel trapped and have things to figure out. Thankfully, they have some very helpful people in their lives, including Micah's best friend and fellow escort Tom.
Parts of this story are heartbreaking, and there are moments of violence. There is quite a bit of heat, of course, since they do start as sex worker and client. There is also a lot of love - between family, friends, and eventually between Micah and Fox. These men aren't perfect, but they are talented, sexy, and kind. I really like their romance.

Stella Shaw has done it again! What a sexy, sweet, adorable story with just the right amount of angst to keep you enthralled from the first page to the last. I have been waiting for Micah’s story since the first book and this was more than I could have hoped for.
Micah has had it tough and is doing what he can to support himself and his family who are very important to him; Fox is living a life he never wanted and which is out of control and making him sick. They are both adorable and their instant attraction made them so hot and sweet together I so felt for both of them dealing with everything in their lives; they needed each other to be happy and it was a joy to watch them get their HEA.
In case you weren’t sure I loved this book which is the third in the Haven Series and I can’t wait for the next one. I highly recommend this as a great read.
I received an ARC of this book to review and this is my honest opinion.

I have just binged all four books in this series and I'm completely hooked. Stella has created a series about rent boys working out of a rundown London hotel and made all the characters sympathetic and real. Each book is better than the last.
Micah is working three jobs to support his mother and siblings and barely has time to breathe, let alone find love. Being a rent boy doesn't lend itself to relationships anyway.
Fox arrives at the Haven looking for an uncomplicated night of sex but finds so much more. He is not happy with the way his career is going. as he really doesn't like the spotlight. In Micah, he finds a sweet man who loves music and inspires him immensely.
Micah cannot believe that Fox could ever want him as more than an escort and their happy ever after is hard won.
Their story was beautiful and heartfelt, told in dual POVs, and the ending was lovely. Each man was the catalyst for the other changing their life for the better.

Thank you for the ARC read, I voluntarily give this book an honest review.
What started out as a slow boarding on boring night for Micah at the Haven was about to be disturbed in a multitude of ways as one client brings out a rage he hasn't felt in a while to a late one coming in. There is just something about the guy that he can't resist but is the feeling mutual? Fox aka Fred was only there to release some pressure but the young man is a wonderful different form that he normally goes for but he willing to be exposed, Will Micah even want to be with him in a more stable way, does he want it for that matter? I just love how the magical place of hotel haven strikes again with Micah and Fox, the ease and fun that just comes naturally with these two are wonderfully sweet with steamy hilarious scenes.

While set in the London, England area, the British terminology was light enough for even the most basic US-English reader to decipher, which was a soothing balm after my last UK-English read spun me out on several occasions.
This is a sweet & sexy story about a rent boy named Micah & a pop star named Fox.
Implied HEA.
Note: This is book three in a series. I did not read the previous two and can honestly say that I was not lost or feeling like I was missing a chuck of background stories. It stood solidly on its own.

I really really enjoyed Micah's story. He is so emotional and strong and silent and his im gonna say insta connection with Fox was wonderfully written.

The fact that Fox, a famous musician, didn't care about Micah's job as a rent boy made me cheer. Sometimes even though characters say they don't it comes across as different in the writing but Stella wrote Mixah and Fox perfectly.

The way Micah trusts Fox, and their love grows is beautiful.

I've loved this whole series but this is my fave so far.

When Micah first was an escort to Fox was right after he helped get rid of one of the men that had come in, Micah didn’t know who Fox was until his brother showed him the YouTubes videos that he was watching. Fox came back things got talked out and asked Micah to one of his shows, after the show Micah saw the man they had thrown out so things came out about what he had done. Another person took over the manager’s position and Fox asked Micah to tour with him so they split up, Micah was needed to help his family. Later Fox came back and they worked things out. Good book!

I love the world that Stella Shaw has created at the Haven, with its cast of likeable escorts and staff, including the lovely Micah, madcap Tom's best friend and steadying influence, who is as much as a therapist to his clients as a rent boy and takes on far too much responsibility for his family.

In this lovely story, we find Micah at breaking point, where he meets Fox as a client, a successful musician who is also under extreme strain. The way these two connect and slowly open up to watch other, especially through music is so touching. Another gorgeous Haven tale from Stella Shaw.

Love at the Haven #3. This installment of the Love at the Haven series is about Micah, who is one of the most stable rent boys at the Haven, and a client (Fox) who arrives late for his appointment with Liam. We get to see how thoughtful and giving Micah is as he offers to to help Fox out for the evening. It's a quirky and steamy romance between Micah and Fox. I quite enjoyed it. Can't wait for the next episode.

A gorgeously sweet and easy read for another rent boy at the Haven. This time is Micah’s turn and it’s interesting seeing how well he ends up meshing with pop singer/songwriter, Fox. They’re put together by mistake at first, but it ends up being so much more than either of them could have imagined. Both Micah and Fox are engaging characters with well-explored emotional depth. The pacing of the romance suits them and I found it easy to become invested in their HEA.

Micah and Fox story is the third book in the Love at the Haven series. This book is longer than the other two books. I loved Micah and Fox. Them being put together is the result of a mistake at first and it was supposed to be one time only. But Fox comes back and they cannot seem to stay away from eachother. I loved their story, there is so much to Micah and Fox than meets the eye. Once you start reading this book you will not want to stop until you have finished.

**ARC Review** Third book in the series and it just keeps getting better and better. Love the rent boys. This starts off almost similar to Rick's story...a matchup that wasn't suppose to happened but fate intervene. Loved Micah and Fox relationship build up...sweet and steamy. Good chemistry between the two. Low on the angst scale but high with wonderful moments. Loved the HEA and the epilogue. Can't wait for the next rent boy romance.

I absolutely love this series and I am glad to see Micah get his story. Micah is one of the rent boys at Haven Hotel who loves to sing and write music. Fox “Fred” is a singer/songwriter for the band Renard, and he must be discreet per his manager. I thought Micah and Fox were amazing together. They were put together by mistake, but they cannot get enough, and Fox comes back for more.

Micah the helper and peacemaker, that's my opinion anyway. A rent boy at the Haven Hotel when Fox arrived undercover so that he would not be recognized.
I seem to fall in love with each of the men in this series. Each have their weaknesses and strengths, yet all with a heart of gold.
Stella Shaw knows exactly how to tell their story without sugar-coating their circumstances.

I don't know how I did it but I managed to skip this book, #3, and jump to 4,5,6. Micah and Fox were good together and had the love of music running through their veins in common, that and they're really nice guys. Very sweet and just plain nice. Now it's on to Haven Holiday for me.

This hooked me right from the first paragraph! I loved Micah so much. He loved his family and will do anything to provide for them including being a rent boy. This is a universe that I really like and that I always enjoy coming back to, however this book felt a little underdeveloped. The storylines that were introduced felt like they could have been explored more fully, which in turn might have made me feel more invested. This was still an enjoyable read, and it was nice to see Micah and Fox get their HEA. I look forward to pick up the rest of the books in this series.

Micah is the third book in the series and follows Micah who is one of the rent-boys, as he falls in love with Fox who is a singer and songwriter. It is an overall quick and steamy read with a nice storyline and interesting characters. Well worth the read and looking forward to reading the other rent-boy's stories in the Haven hotel.
