I was really excited when I saw this title come onto NetGalley. I’ve always liked the work Kel Mitchell has been involved in, and it was interesting to see him come forward with more information around his faith.
The book is a really quick read, the format is perfect for getting out the bite-sized morsels of wisdom. I also like the idea of starting each section with a bible verse.
He also keeps bringing things back to steps you can take in your life, things he’s done or things to think about as you move forward in leveling up your life.
I thought this book was going to be a bit more spiritual than religious, but I was incorrect. So one word of caution for those who are not Christian, this does bring back a lot to the Bible and to Christian thinking.
I also expected this to be a day by day way to get started, given that the book title shares that it’ll be a 90-day journey. As far as I could tell with the ARC, things weren’t labeled by day, but the end congratulates you for making it through the 90 days. So that piece left me a bit confused.
All in all, a good, heartwarming read that I think a lot of people can find some direction in.
This book based on a really cool premise that will definitely appeal to gamers. It's aimed at young adults. Each day provides bite sized devotions with a verse and something that they can do to apply the lesson of the day in a practical way.
I got this for free in exchange for an honest review. This is the kind of book I would definitely recommend for someone in their 20s. It's written at the right level with examples that are relatable. The author infuses himself into the book and that will appeal to fans of his but I also think it adds to the personality of the book, making it more interesting. Definitely worth a read.
Blessed Mode is a devotional of sorts by Kel Mitchell that touches on topics such as sharing the gifts/blessings you have and the levelling up power of faith.
The book was a quick read and the way it was written was to ensure that you can get your daily work out on the go too. I loved the fact that each section starts with a bible verse. I was expecting this to be a day by day way given that the book title shares that it’ll be a 90-day journey.
However I loved it and I think it will make a perfect gift . A huge thanks to Thomas Nelson for a complimentary copy in exchange for an honest opinion.
This was an amazing devotional, and I fully expect to start over again in the fall hopefully (depending how many of my others I get through this summer!) Kel was a hilarious and beloved icon of my youth and when ai found out he had grown into ministry and had written this book I couldn’t NOT buy it. It was every bit “him” and it was encouraging, inspiring, and heart touching, based on truth and love, and filled with great daily actions steps to renew my hope and sustain my faith each and every day that I read! I would probably read just about anything he wrote, but this one is definitely a new favorite way to start my day on Scripture and reminders for walking the straight and narrow path with Jesus!!! ❤️🫶
I'm a fan of Kel the actor AND a fan of him as a devoted husband, father and follower of Christ. I love this book because it's practical and uplifting. I would recommend both the audible and the hardcopy.
The state of this country can bring even the strongest woman to her knees. I picked up this book because I needed a spiritual reset. I needed to be reminded that joy is still possible even during these chaotic & uncertain times. I figured reading this devotional would be a good place to begin my journey to finding peace in the mist of this chaotic storm. Although this devotional was meant to be read daily, I chose to complete multiple entries at a time. Kel’s words reminded me that peace can be found in the quiet moments of prayer. My anxiety decreased while on this journey. Inside the book… Each devotional begins with a scripture. Next there’s a section titled #Blessedmode. It’s here Kel provides a personal life story that coincides with the scripture. The next section is #LevelUpYourFaith which contains a prayer. #GoGetThemBlessings is the final application section where Kel provides an exercise to be completed to help you connect to the word. Each devotional is short and easy to digest. Overall, this book reminded me that peace is a practice that can be achieved through prayer.
I loved this devotional! Kel Mitchell has crafted a 90 day journey full of wisdom, wit, and spiritual insight. I will admit that I requested this book from NetGalley and the publisher, solely based on my knowledge of Kel Mitchell from his goofy presence on my TV years ago. I was pleasantly surprised by the depths of spirituality, and would gladly recommend this book as a gift, especially for a teenager or young adult being confirmed or baptized.
Blessed Mode is a 90-day, daily devotional that will challenge and encourage you. Each devotional also contains a prayer and an action that you can take to put the given day's topic to work.
Kel covers a wide range of topics, such as speaking with kindness, not dwelling on past hurts, and seeing the world as Christ sees it.
I really enjoyed this devotional. I found it to be very encouraging and full of great reminders! I definitely recommend it for both teens and adults.
This book has truly blessed my life 🥹💚 Reading each devotional every morning before heading to work kept me levelheaded and knowing things are working out for my greater good.... I hope Kel writes another book/devotional soon.
