Sweet Sun and Shadow is a fun way to celebrate July 4th! It's so wonderful to see how each of the sisters has matured. They'll need all their skills to defeat a murderer who now has them in their sights. I love the fact that while there is a light paranormal element, the sisters use deduction and reasoning to solve mysteries.
The mystery was fast-paced and there were many red herrings. Oh, and I can't leave out the antics of Euclid and Circe, two smart felines who play a major in the mystery.
You'll love the Roseland sisters and then impatiently wait, like I do, for the next book!
Another murder with a complicated web of many different people and suspects. The sisters have a close call as they get close to determining the guilty person. Elli's powers grow and the husbands/boyfriends are trying to discover their powers with the help of Mr. Finch. It's a very slow process. Still love this series and it looks like there's only one more book to go.
Amazon synopsis: It is May in the seaside town of Sweet Cove, Massachusetts. Ellie and Jack have been trying to close on some land for over seven months. I really enjoy this series, because it is not over kill on the special skills the sisters have and it doesn't center the lives around it like other books do. I just like the feel of the characters development in this series. Ellie and Jack have put up with real estate agent far too long, when is enough is enough? When they think there is light at the end of months of delays, the unexpected thing happens to really stop things in their tracks, literally!! With Angie, Ellie and Betty finding an expired woman in her car in the field Ellie wants to buy, now they have to find out WHO? WHY? And Chief Martin has a list of suspects to talk to. There is greed, shady business deals, dealing with dangerous people, trusting who? and can't get out without certain information.... You have to get the book to find out all the twists and coincidences there are!!!!
Although there was a murder of a young woman in this, there were a few great happenings. Ellie finally embraced her paranormal powers instead of forever shying away from them. The sisters are able to send one another mental messages and that came in useful when Angie was faced with two killers.
Unfortunately there is only one more book in this series, so I’ll be starting a new series…by J.A. Whiting! Yes, I like Whiting’s writing style and her ability to bring me close to the characters. I feel at home with the four sisters, their mates, Mr. Finch, and the two cats.
Last book in this series is the 21st and it is called Sweet Thanksgiving. Perhaps Rufus and Courtney will get engaged in it!
Love this series. All books have been great and the relationship among the sisters is endearing! The toddlers are a light, funny touch and their growing group of friends is wonderful. This was an exciting, dangerous plot that kept the action moving! I enjoy all the series that J. A. Whiting writes alone but the series with a coauthor are not very good. Hope Herring series and Peachtree Point are the only exceptions ----- the others, for me, are it very good by comparison with the ones J A writes alone!
This series is about four sisters who help the local police chief solve crimes in their small town. They have some paranormal powers that help them feel things and figure out who is guilty. You can read them separately or in order without problems, but to understand the progression it helps to start with the first one. Loving relationships between the sisters and their husbands/boyfriends and their friends make the stories flow well. Nice quick reads.
Another great addition to the series. Thoroughly enjoyed it...and it felt like it ended too soon! Before I knew it, I had read the entire book! Highly recommend. Excellent plot, excellent characters. I love that the author doesn’t spend chapters to give history/background of previous books, but instead weaves the information into the book. Well Done! Can’t wait for the next. Definitely one of my favs!
This is one of my favorite series by J. A. Whiting! I wish the episodes would arrive more quickly to my Kindle. The four sisters' powers are getting stronger and stronger, especially Angie's and Ellie's, and it will take both of their powers, along with their two brave cats, to bring down a murderer or two. I gave this episode 5 stars, just like I have given every other book in this series.
J A Writing does a superb job with this Sweet Cove Mystery Series! Every book is so enjoyable you never want to stop reading. The Roseland sisters and their friends fit seamlessly together and make solving each mystery such fun. I enjoy the thought each one puts into contributing to the solution. Each twist and turn points you in another direction and sometimes the solution comes totally out of left field. I'm always ready to see the next book!
Love Sweet Cove Mysteries! They are wonderful cozy books to curl up in a comfy chair in front of the fireplace with a cup,of tea and just enjoy! They have everything I like….charming characters, delightful cats who help solve mysteries, cute little baby girls, mysteries to solve (yes, there are murders….but, no graphic violence), romance (no sex), sisters with “powers”, intelligent and capable police (no dummies), and no cliffhanger endings.
What a terrific book!! So happy to see Ellie fully embrace her abilities. Can’t wait to see Ellie and Jack get married. Now Courtney needs to get engaged to Rufus. Looking forward to the book involving the art gallery opening for Courtney and Mr Finch. Enjoyed the part with the men practicing paranormal skills. Great job as always. 😊😊😊
I have book in this series and although I'm not a fan of the paranormal, they add it as help instead of using to harm someone. As you read this story a young girl is killed on land Ellie and Jack are buying. Now they are getting together to find out happen to her and why
This was a really cute story. Im not sure why Kindle recommended this one seeing as it is book20 in a series and it didn’t make me start from the beginning, so it was a bit hard to follow in the beginning but as soon as I understood who the characters were it was an enjoyable read
I sat down and read the whole series, all 20 books, in one go! It was so much fun! I love the characters, and their gradual growth into a cohesive oneness. The descriptions in the books were very detailed and made me wish I could visit the town and meet the people. I would recommend the Sweet Dreams Bake Shop mysteries to anyone!
The way they do their magic is great. Always guess ing how they are killed & by who. The food sounds great the little things that happened through out the books. Twist and turns the little girl s and the thing s that happened through out the books. There funny stories about people who are just trying out to be great gether.
Whenever a new book in the Sweet Cove series comes out, I can't wait to read it. I truly enjoy all the characters. The mystery is interesting and it's fun to follow the sisters as their paranormal powers evolve, as well as their businesses and families.
I just love this series! The characters are charming and engaging! The sisters solve another murder while focusing on family, friends, and their respective businesses. If you love cozy mysteries that feature paranormal elements and two amazing cats, this series is for you!
Wonderful story line about the murder of a real estate woman. So many suspects which one was th murder. Love this series and can't wait until the next one. A must read.
I have been reading this series from the start and have enjoyed every one. Great characters and always interesting mystery. Look forward to the next one. No graphic violence.
These girls just keep growing their gifts and getting better with each book. Sweet friends who become family and all working together to solve the mysteries. Another fun read.
Interesting story line. The Roseland sisters are all waking up to their powers for good. Ellie who always stayed in the background used her power and felt great about it.
I have read twenty of this author's books straight through. There is only one more in this series. I am dreading reading the last book. I hope there will be more in the future. There is romance, mystery, loyal friends, family and even a little magic.
I loved this one so much. I had an inkling as to who the killer was. I was partially correct. I just didn't fit all the pieces together soon enough. Looking forward to the next book. So many things to celebrate.
I have loved this series by J A Whiting from book one and now book 20 and I can't wait for the next one. If you love cozies then this one is a must read.
