I received this book as an ARC in exchange for an honest, unbiased review. The Earl of Montfort falls in love with an actress. Of course, his mother is not as excited about the prospect of Clarissa joining the family as Matthew is. The plot is an exceptional one. I wanted the writer to give a firmer basis for the attraction. It is emphasized that there is an instant attraction but wasn't thoroughly explored, in my opinion. Having said that, the scenes are vivid and well-written. The reader cannot help but eagerly turn pages to find out if love conquers all.

I do like reading Olivia’s historical novels they always so well written and capture the essence of the period. This tale of an actress who is pursued by an Earl is full of heartbreak, love and passion. I kept reading this long after I should have put it down. I received an ARC copy in exchange for an honest review.

I liked the story. It was a very readable story with a plot line that moved right along.
Matthew, the Earl, is into the arts. A bent that his mother downplays. When they attended the theater he became enraptured with the lead character, Hamlet, and she likes him back. His mother and their mutual friends work to keep them apart. This, with a twist, is the story leading to a HEA.

wonderfully gripping plot with a unique twist
This is another wonderfully gripping story, with a plot that is quite unique in its conception and full of emotional turmoil. The characters are portrayed beautifully with the strength and determination to overcome their social differences. The extended epilogue is use brilliantly to bring the story to completion. I read an ARC copy.

Got to chapter 5 and got turned off by what a mama's boy the hero is.
