"Once upon a time..." ...my best childhood nights had started with this wonderful phrase!
Ever since I can remember, I loved a good story!
All started thanks to my beloved grandfather! He used to read to my sister and me, stories of mighty princes and horrifying dragons! Even now, sometimes I miss those cold winters in front of the fireplace in my hometown, Texas!
My best stories though were the ones from the Bible! Such is the spiritual connection that a cozy warm pass through my body every time I hear a biblical story!
My childhood memories were not all roses, but I always knew that the strongest shelter would be always there for me! It was Him!
Years passed by, and little-Chloe grown up reading all kind of stories! It was no surprise that I had this urge to write my own stories, and share them with the word!
If I have a God's purpose on Earth, I think it is to spread His love and wisdom, through my stories!
I enjoyed this book very much. I liked how the Author included scripture in the telling of this story very much. I didn’t have tears but my eyes were certainly glistening as the story came to an end. I thought the story was very moving. The main characters are Anna, Houston, Kurt, and little Levi. Anna answers a mail order advertisement and goes west to meet and marry Houston and help raise his brothers Kurt and especially Levi. At first the marriage is only for convenience and for the purpose of raising Levi. Both Anna and Houston and his brothers actually had similar experiences and it seems that the Lord was working in their lives to bring them together.
There was a lot of twists and turns with a lot of drama as they tried to find out who was stealing their horses. Also, the gang stealing the horses were doing it for more nefarious purposes.
The portion of the book that I liked most was where Houston refers to Proverbs Chapter 31. That particular scripture has always had special meaning to me. Proverbs Chapter 31 was read at my Grandmother’s funeral to describe her and it very much does describe the kind of woman she was. Every time I read it or hear it I think of her.
I enjoyed how the story ended along with the extended epilogue. And, I always enjoy reading a story that doesn’t have to resort to profanity and sexually explicit dialogue to tell the story.
This was a sweet book with a lot of Scripture which I loved. This was a story of much pain, unbelief ending in love and forgiveness. Anna was a young girl when her mother died who had sold her body to feed her family & was taken into an orphanage. When she turns eighteen, she must leave the home and the dear sister who had taught her Scripture & prayer in faith had also been a mother to her. After a fire at the orphanage, God placed an ad in her path to go west as a bride for Houston, one of three brothers who had faced their own tragedy. There were many incidents where their horses were stolen, their house burned and Anna kidnapped, but the God they trusted brought a great ending to their problems and brought them together as husband and wife. Lovely story.
I enjoyed most of this book. It started out warmly written, and the gentle love Anna demonstrated upon her arrival out West had a wonderful effect on Houston's brothers. It took a bit longer for Houston to open his heart to Anna and trust her and God, as he was stubborn and self-righteous. I felt the ending of the book was rushed and not well written--unrealistic in parts and "contrived", and there was quite a bit repetition. Additionally, I was not able to access the "Extended Epilogue" on my Kindle Paperwhite--a continual problem I've had with only Ms. Carley's books. I received a complimentary ARC of this book and have freely given my honest opinion in this review.
An Inspiring Bride for the Rancher 's Wounded Faith A Christian Historical Romance
This is a very good and wonderful inspirational story about faith in God and family Anna is a mail order bride to Houston and he and his brother's are not close with God Her prayers and bible study help them grow close as a family and a child of God .This faith helps them withstand hard trials The characters are strong and courageous and prayerful and forgiving The extended epilogue completes the story Enjoyable and wonderfully written
I loved reading about Anna stepped out on faith and encouraged others. Whenever she was in doubt she would pray and continue to believe she was on the right path. I didn’t like how the men were sorry at aiming and the sheriff should have been replaced a while ago. It was an entertaining and realistic for any one that lives to read Christian Historical Romance about ranchers.
I really enjoyed reading this book! It is a mail-order bride book! The man needs a woman to help him take care of two younger brothers. The girl is in an orphanage and has turned eighteen and needs to leave to make room for others. I recommend this book to anyone who likes romance with some mystery thrown in the pot!
This is a amazing book the basic story is about there faith in God and forgiveness. It is about the love of a strong family. It is sad at times with joy in the morning. Chloe Carley's newest novel is rich in faith. It has strong well rounded characters who fight for justice in the face of trials and hardship. Her characters encounter challenges of faith, fear, and family relationships.
This is another exciting Christian western by this author. I loved the characters and the lessons within this book. I really appreciate the parts dealing with forgiveness.
Loved the story very much. It was very refreshing and it was delightful with the strong Christian references. Even the extended epilogue downloaded properly and it was a great ending. 😊
I loved the story, characters, and the strong faith they all had even when things were tough. I wish the author would use a different version of the Bible hate all the thee's and thou's in the KJV
I really enjoyed the book. The exciting book grabbed me right from the start and kept building with excitement and mystery. It was a real hard book to put down!
