Captain Marvel's alien cat, Chewie, wreaks havoc in wordless one page strips across the Marvel Universe. I didn't really see much point in this and the stories are more or less all the same. I'm sure cat lovers will enjoy it though.

"Marvel Meow" is such a cute comic strip book! It follows Chewie around, Captain Marvel's pet cat, while she meets other characters from the Marvel universe, in various situations. In true kitty fashion, Chewie takes her naps in uncanny places, like Tony Stark's desk or even on Silver Surfer's board, swings aways with (two!) Spiderman's webs and even gets involved with different villains' plans! While every comic strip is super fun on its own, this compilation allows Marvel fans to see beloved characters in different settings and situations, making it a great addition to any collection!

My personal favorite comics, from this book, were the ones with the Silver Surfer, Carnage and Venom and Gwenpool! I also loved that the entirety of the X-Men section was colored in pastel purple!

This book is also unique in the sense that it doesn't have any dialogue and, for this reason, it is a book perfect for art appreciation! The artist did an amazing job with these comics! I recommend this to any Marvel fan, you won't regret adding this one to your collection!

3.5 stars - there’s not a lot of plot here - not in the sense of an extended storyline . Just Chewie interacting with various superheroes, heroines, and villains from the marvel universe. There all short, and don’t feature any text. You don’t really need the text, though - the illustrations are quite expressive and it’s easy to follow what’s happening. The stories and illustration style are quite cute, and had me laughing out loud at a few parts. I liked it quite a bit, and would recommend it to anyone else who loves Marvels’ favourite feline.

Captain Marvel’s pet, Chewie, a catlike flerken, gets her own book albeit short with no plot. She’s capricious, playful, chaotic, fearless, and acts just like a cat. I was laughing at her antics and encounters with the X-men, inhumans, Guardians of the Galaxy, and other Marvel characters.

With little tie-in to specific Marvel stories, minimal text, and no real plot, Marvel Meow is a quick and easy read. For any Marvel fan who wants to see an alien space cat wreak havoc and unleash cuteness across the Marvel universe as only cats can, Fuji's comics are well worth the quick read-time they take to enjoy the misadventures of Chewie and friends.

What a fun Marvel comic! You might not know this, but Carol Danvers' cat Chewie has some pretty cool adventures, too, and now we finally get to see them. I had a little trouble following the art in the ARC because of the publisher watermark and that fact that its mostly wordless with the storytelling done exclusively through artwork (which I do actually love), but I thoroughly enjoyed it nonetheless. Such a rascally cat! No one can resist his charms!

Honestly, I would read ten of these. Keep 'em coming.

This was cute and the artwork was GORGEOUS, but I think I don't know enough of the Marvel Universe to understand some of the humor in this. Also, I recommend this in real book format, so you can really soak in the artwork. A screen just really doesn't do it justice.

Recommended for Marvel fans who also understand and appreciate the way cats behave.

3, solidly cute, stars.

My thanks to NetGalley and Viz Media LLC for an eARC copy of this book to read and review.

Superrrr disappointing and not the comics collection I was expecting. It's just a series of one-page illustrations depicting the random interactions between a cat and various Marvel characters. Most of it didn't make sense to me, especially since there is zero text. I didn't enjoy the book at all and ended up just skimming. Loved the soft colour tones and art style though.

Marvel-sankareiden ja kissojen yhdistelmä oli oikein herttainen. Ei sarjakuvissa ihan kamalasti sisältöä ollut, mutta ihan kiva yhdeltä istumalta luettava teos tämä silti oli.

Too cute for human words.

Chewie (or Goose from the Captain Marvel film) stars in a charming series of short adventures co-starring numerous heroes from the Marvel comic book titles.

I’m definitely going to have to buy a copy of this.

What an adorable, hilarious book! The depictions of the various different Marvel characters were spot on, both in terms of personality and appearance, which is very difficult to pull off convincingly in a Japanese manga art style like we see here. It's expertly done. Similarly, the depictions of Chewie, the Flerken main character who is basically a cat from space, are absolutely perfect (purrfect 😽). As someone who has lived with and adored cats from day one, I can tell that the artist (and anyone else involved in Chewie's direction) REALLY understands what cats are like--their silly quirks, their adorable behaviors, the movements and silhouettes unique to the cat body--and they have the skill to translate all of that onto the page with just a few lines. Furthermore, I loved how this book periodically provided descriptions of the characters that had been shown. It helped to see who the ones I didn't recognize were, and it was exciting to see characters that I know I'm soon going to learn more about in upcoming MCU series and movies!

Well this is pretty damn adorable 🥰
The amount and variety of cameos was awesome - Mat Murdoch! The Eternals! X-Men! Poor Steve when Bucky threw him a cat instead of a shield lmao. I would have loved to have seen Magneto deal with Chewie
I think all this comic proves is that all the superheroes need to adopt some cats 💁🏻‍♀️

I got this because I thought, "Superheroes? Cats? Perfect bedtime book for the 8 year old!" And I didn't do enough research.

This has no text. Which is fine, just not what I was expecting when I wanted a book to help with reading comprehension. 'Ya know? I expected to look at a couple pages with him and then have him lose interest. I thought it was going to be a bust, but something maybe I'd flip through (as a comic fan).

It wasn't a bust.

He loved it. He got to look at the pictures before bed and find the cat in all of them. And then, the sweetest thing happened. He was curious about the heroes and all the information I knew about them. So I got to tell him the things I knew about the Marvel superheroes (and my heart grew three sizes that day). And then something unexpected and equally cute happened: I got to the X-Men section and I thought I was SCREWED. Shit, I don't know ANYTHING about the X-Men! What! His dad did. Apparently, he was big into the cartoons. So we got to drag his dad into the shenanigans as well. I never knew my husband knew so much about the X-Men, so that was really fun, and suddenly it wasn't just me and my step-son bonding and having a fun time in bed...it was all three of us.

8 year old approved. Step-mother approved. Father approved.

I loved this book! It didn't have words but you didn't need them as the comic was so funny without them. I enjoyed the mix of normal cat shenanigans and crazy superhero situations. I was always excited to see the transition page to see how the hero would adopt to chewie or how they would be hanging out. It was also really nice to get a brief description of each marvel character, those in the know can skip past them but those who don't know every single character get a nice introduction. The only thing that was slightly off in the book was the giant watermark in the middle of each page, I understand marvel doesn't want this material stolen but it was hard to tell what was going on sometimes, especially in the X-Men scenes. But this book is so cute, I would definitely go back and read it again!
Thank you to netgalley and the publisher for a free copy for my unbiased opinion.

This was funny adaption of what different character from Marvel would interact with a cat. As a Marvel lover and animal lover, I loved this collaboration!

I'd definitely recommend this book for a holiday gift!

I saw the cover for this and thought it looked cute. Plus, I'm generally a fan of comics/stories focused on superheroes living their everyday lives.

Apparently some of this volume was previously posted on Marvel's official Instagram, with additional pages created specifically for this release. I don't follow Marvel on Instagram and couldn't say how much of this was new.

Captain Marvel's pet, Chewie, (who is not a cat but rather a flerken, an alien that looks like a cat) spends time with various Marvel superheroes. Every few pages, there's a brief breakdown of the superheroes Chewie has spent time with, along with some basic info about who they are/what their powers are.

This was sort of cute and occasionally mildly amusing, but not as good as I'd hoped it would be. The action/events depicted were sometimes a little hard to follow. I had also hoped that there would be more playing with the fact that Chewie is a flerken, but Chewie might as well have been an ordinary cat for all these pages showed.

Very cute and, at times, incomprehensible. I found the character descriptions curious. I’m always a little weirded out when artists draw POCs without any shading or indication that they’re not white. As the artist is Japanese, I wasn’t sure what to make of that detail. Finally, such a clever, superhero-adjacent idea. I’m surprised there aren’t more projects like this one.
