That is how you do a duet conclusion! Wow, this was beyond good! Intense plot twists, HOT HOT HOT (did I mention HOT?) scenes and alphas males all around!
This picks up right where book 1 ended. From the start it was action packed and never slowed down. I need to find a Lycan with a side of Darius! Holy goodness! I sure hope Darius gets his own book. He was a fab addition to these books.
Scarlett had desires that some might think aren't so becoming of a lady and Lycan helped to guide her through her new journey of exploration. He was kind and patient with her, even though he was intense and deadly with most everyone else. Their chemistry was just.. WOW! Off the charts. They brought out the best in each other, sometimes in the dirtiest of ways.
I wasn't quite sure where Dani was heading at one point in the book and I was worried, but like a true genius she gently takes you through a journey that was pretty fantastic. I want MORE!!!
Wow! You need to read this dark and delicious retelling of Red Riding Hood. Meet her and her wolf. You won't be sorry!

Plot Summary :
Within a few moments, Scarlett's whole life has been uprooted. She fell in love with Lycan only for him to be snatched away from her. The man who has her is just like her husband if not worse. Darius is Lycan's brother in more ways than one and she is horrified to see that she likes him a bit too. He is as broken as her husband and even though he nearly killed her husband, she wants him.
And now she is stuck between them. The man she loves and the one who makes her feel something. and both of them are monsters of the equal level. By the time this was done, there would be nothing in her.
Overall Opinion :
I loved this duet a lot! Specially the way the author gave us extra pov chapters from Darius's pov which really helped me understand him.
His character was complex and I hated him from the start but then I slowly liked him. The ending of the diet was perfect and I want a book for Darius so bad! I hope the author graces us with that. Scarlett was the perfect heroine and I loved the way her mind worked. It was a wonder to see.
I would recommend this duet to all the dark and twisted romance lovers out there!

So the second book in Crimson Falls Duet messed up my emotions 🙈🙈🙈
This time i was more tuned with Lycan feelings so the beginning was a bit difficult for me: my jealous and possessive self was at war with the part of me that was so damn intrigued with everything that was happening.
The moment Lycan wake up in an hospital bed, after being shoot, his only concern is his wife.
In the meanwhile, after being kidnapped by Darius, Scarlett, despite her worry for Lycan, forge a bond with him.
He is not the bad guy he wants to appear.
He is hurt just like his brother.
Lines blurres a little but when the three of them are finally together and able to explain themself, to be honest with each others, everything starts to make more sense....
I was kinda worried the story would have lead me somewhere i wouldn't have liked, but Dani managed every aspects of their relationship so perfectly i end up loving it.
In this second book every hidden truths between the Shaws and the Bardots finally come out.
But to be honest i was more involved with the side story about Father Lorenzo, Kahn and Alexei... And i really hope Dani gonna give us their story.
She once again did a great job in creating such amazing story, with the right amount of suspense, steam, and love.
And now i'm looking forward for her next work 🤩

"A ring and a vow don't matter when it comes to the bitter truth of knowing that someone doesn't truly love you."
The second book in the Bitter Vows duet just knocked my socks off. I really liked Darius, a side of me preferred him to Lycan. There was nothing sweet, loving or forgiving about Darius he was the wolf. The book picks right up after the conclusion in book 1. Dani did an excellent job of keeping the pace of the story swift and the sexy parts steamy. This is a sexy retelling of little Red Riding Hood. Go in as blind as possible and you will enjoy the ride.

I am loving this sensual retelling of Little Red Riding Hood and The Big Bad Wolf, and of course The Hunter!
Lycan and Scarlett's story continues in Bitter Truths and it was spectacular!
This story starts off with her being in Darius's basement after being kidnapped in Bitter Vows! Oh my goodness, poor Scarlett, she has had a rough time in her life. She still has fire and sass though, and she's not afraid to talk back to anyone who tries to push her around.
And let me just say that smexy scenes had me fanning myself, it was the hottest scene I have ever read!

The second part of the "Crimson Falls" duet was very intriguing and I enjoyed it very much.
The balance is changing in here and except of Scarlett and Lycan, in the mix is being added Darius and what a pleasant surprise he ended to be!!!
For one moment in here, or two, Dani scared me, but I believe that she played out this story very well after all!!!
"Agony reveals truth. No matter how bitter it tastes."
The story picked up exactly were it left us. Scarlett's wolf is fighting for his life, when she is being captured by the Hunter. And while Lycan is worrying about his wife's fate and he is determined to end his brother, Scarlett is forming a strange bond with her captor. A man that was clearly misunderstood.
Nothing is as it seems between the Bardots and the Shaws and the three of them have to work together in order to get into the bottom of this well of hidden truths, secrets and lies....
"As if I was always meant to be stolen by the hunter and taken by the wolf."
Lycan and Scarlett's connection only grew up in here, but there are things that are standing between them. Will their love survive everything that life will throw their way???
And what about Darius???
Will Lycan and his brother stop ever being at odds???
Will Scarlett's presence do them good or she will be their destruction???
Will they survive through all the lies and betrayals??? Will love show them the true way???
"Tonight, she's going to be thrown into the deepest, darkest woods. Let's hope my little red finds her way back to me."
I loved very much Lycan and Scarlett. In the first book, they got through many things together and when they finally found their way to each other, in an instant everything turned upside down. Is it love what they are feeling or pure lust???
Can Darius come between them??? Or they have built something strong that no one can ever break???

As for Darius??? He was a very intriguing character and I'm longing to see more of him!!!!
I didn't really like him in the first part, but in the second one, he managed to steal a small piece of my heart... So, i need more of him!!!
And I believe that Dani had left some unfinifhed businesses in here with Kahn and Father Lorenzo...
I'm crossing my fingers that more will follow!!!

Bitter Truths is the end of the Crimson Falls Duet, and what an ending it is. If you have never read a Dani Rene story this duet is the one for you. It has everything you could ask for.
Bitter Truths starts where Bitter Vows ends. Lycan and Scarlett have just gotten married and things have all gone to shit. Darius has shown up to mess up everything that Scarlett and Lycan have created together.
Dani has written a story about rivalry, lies, twisted relationships, and family lies that have started this whole thing. Bitter Truths is perfectly titled, there is a lot of truths that come out in this story. Scarlett grows up a lot in this book. Lycan turns out to be the man we all hoped he would be. And Darius, well he is my favorite character. There are so many wonderful characters in this story.

The story starts right where Bitter Vows left off. This book is full of action from start to finished, with the perfect ending. I loved Lycan, I adored him, but in the end, I fell in love with Darius.
In the end, Little Red Riding Hood ends HEA with the wolf, but I fell in love with the Hunter.
In my opinion, the book, the duet was beyond perfect. It had everything I want in a book. Secrets, drama, action, and steam. So oooo HOT.
I HIGHLY RECOMMEND IT.

Bitter Truths by Dani René is the dark and twisted conclusion to the Crimson Falls Duet. Bitter Truths picks up where we left off in Bitter Vows. Lycan has been shot and Scarlett has been kidnapped by Lycan’s brother Darius. Scarlett must figure out how to get away from Darius’s clutches, but she comes to discover the complex and hurt individual he is. Scarlett can’t forget her husband, but she also struggles with attraction towards Darius’. She’s stuck between two monsters, a rock, and a hard place. To top it all off new truths come to light regarding the lies, deceit, and struggles between Scarlett and Lycan’s families.
I loved this conclusion so much. I wasn’t expecting the direction the story took with Darius’ character and how he was dark, much darker than Lycan, complex, broken, yet redeemable. I loved the development of Lycan and Scarlett as individuals and as a couple. Lycan was possessive and controlling, yet showed his softer side when it came to his love for Scarlett. Scarlett on the other hand transformed from a sweet girl to one who took charge of her life and went after things she desired instead of holding herself back. I loved Darius, Lycan, and Scarlett each in their own way and am amazed at the way Dani René was able to make a character like Darius redeemable.
Dani René has written an enthralling tale of lies, deceit, and secrets. This was an amazing retelling of Little Red Riding Hood and the Wolf. By far one of my favorites. I look forward to reading more captivating books by Dani René!

I've been waiting for the conclusion to Lycan & Scarlett’s story. And it's so worth it. It's so suspenseful, filled with secrets, lies, and truths. Their chemistry is just as amazing as in the first book. I loved it.

4 ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Stars! NA romance duet, I liked this Red riding hood theme duet. It kept my attention and I was intrigued, very well done. I hope to read Darius’s book, if it gets written, I loved his character.

Bitter Truths
is the second book in the Crimson Falls Duet series by Dani René and it immediately picks up right after the events in
Bitter Vows.
Lycan is gravely injured and Scarlett is kidnapped by his brother, Darius. A lot of uncomfortable truths are revealed in this book but one thing does stay the same—Lycan and Scarlett's love and desire for each other. I loved how Lycan was willing to do anything for his Scarlett, including giving her the opportunity to explore her sexual desires, even when it caused him jealousy.
Lycan has fallen in love with Scarlett and will stop at nothing to get her back. I have to admit that I did not expect to be reading Darius' POV in the part of the book. I despised him for injuring Lycan and taking Scarlett away. There's also that fact that he had sexual thoughts about his brother's wife. However, my opinion of him has changed by the end of this book and I commend Dani René for being able to do that! Darius is a very complex character and engages in activities that are much darker than Lycan. I look forward to reading his HEA down the road.
In the end, this was an excellent duet series by Dani René and I am definitely looking forward to more from her in the future! She excels at writing sexy stories with dirty talking heroes and this one is no exception. Besides Darius, I am really intrigued by Kahn, Alex, and Atreo. I hope we will be getting books for them. If you are looking for a dark romance that is action-packed, off-the-charts smoking hot love scenes, and an obsessive love between two characters, then I highly recommend this book!

This book picked up where the last book left off. The story was engaging and had my interest in each chapter that I read. In fact, this book was even better than the first one and by far exceeded my expectations. Everything that I had been wanting fleshed out more was done so and then some in this book.
I really loved how the author built on the retelling of this story and tied in all of the characters of Little Red Riding Hood; Grandma, Lycan (the Wolf), Scarlett (Red), and even the Hunter. The push and pull and steam in this book was so incredibly well done. The steam was HOT. I loved that the author tied in the BDSM elements so well, but that isn't surprising because she is one of the best out there when it comes to authentic BDSM scenes. As much as I loved Lycan and Scarlett, it really was another character that stole the show. I hope that the author gives him a book too because he was delicious and I loved watching him grow as a character. I, especially, loved a pivotal scene between Lycan and him. It really gave additional insight into what had happened, why it happened, and into the person that he was.
Great retelling. Definitely my favorite of this particular story that has been done.

In fact, this book was even better than the first one and by far exceeded my expectations. Everything that I had been wanting fleshed out more was done so and then some in this book.
I really loved how the author built on the retelling of this story and tied in all of the characters of Little Red Riding Hood; Grandma, Lycan (the Wolf), Scarlett (Red), and even the Hunter. The push and pull and steam in this book was so incredibly well done. The steam was HOT. I loved that the author tied in the BDSM elements so well, but that isn't surprising because she is one of the best out there when it comes to authentic BDSM scenes. As much as I loved Lycan and Scarlett, it really was another character that stole the show. I hope that the author gives him a book too because he was delicious and I loved watching him grow as a character. I, especially, loved a pivotal scene between Lycan and him. It really gave additional insight into what had happened, why it happened, and into the person that he was.
Great retelling. Definitely my favorite of this particular story that has been done.

Have you read Twisted Vows and was like - where is the next book? Here it comes and Ms. Rene had delivered a really good conclusion to this story! In this one, we start right after book one so make sure to read one before the other.
Lycan was injured during the wedding, and now he has to recover before he will be able to retrieve Scarlett from the hands of his own brother. Darius, Lycan, and Scarlett are going to reveal a lot of secrets, schemes, and wrongs in this story. Some truce will be made, some relationships will be broken to the very last. Darius is the most complex character here - you will start with hate toward him, but later the author manages to change our minds and brings some very new quality for this book! I hope he will have time to get his own books, as he deserves it!
Once again Dani Rene created a great story and made me so engage in the history of her characters! Great job! Oh, and there will be some great hotness here! Trust me - it is so so good

**GIVEN ARC FOR AN HONEST OPINION**
Let me say that I hope Darius and Kahn get a book of their own. I absolutely love the Shaw brothers and their make shift family of bad guys. So the story picks up where Bitter Vows leaves off and you will think that Darius is an a$$ only because of the side that Lycan portrayed him as. But Darius is that bad boy with a soft inside. The way he would tease Scarlett and how he knew it got to her was amazing. I was happy to find out the truth as dar was the "family tree" which was a bit confusing in the first book. The book has me saying Oh My God a lot and the scene with the Shaw brothers and Scarlett...HHHHOOOOTTTTT!!!!! I cannot wait to see where this Crimson Falls series will go, there are so many stories that I want to get into..

WoooWeee get your AC out of storage because this one is a scorcher!!!! Little Red Riding Hood is ablaze in book 2 of the Crimson Falls Duet!!!
What happens when you think your only nightmare is the big bad wolf...you run into a bigger badder wolf, your brother-in-law. Darius played a really big role in book 2. At first I didn’t think I would like him but eventually, the scenes that involved him became too good not to like.
The ending gave us the perfect HEA after going through all the ups and downs that led us to that point.
If you like it hot and you know how Dani does it, you are going to love the finale we are given with Bitter Truths.

This is the second book in the Crimson Falls Duet and the conclusion to Scarlet and Lycan's story. Talk about a whirlwind romance, this one will keep your head spinning. A little red riding hood and the big bad wolf. This was a great story and it was good to get to know Darius better via his POV's. The book was very intense and the conclusion brought every thing together. A great book overflowing with emotion and passion. I read an advance copy via Grey's Promotions and voluntarily chose to review it.

And holy hell Dani delivers spectacularly!! An intense and twisted read that will grip you from start to finish, with lies around every corner and enough steam to make you weak at the knees ,the conclusion to the Crimson Falls duet is absolute perfection!!
Fantastic storyline and a brilliant set of characters to love and hate this duet is yet again another 100% must read from this author.

UMM, I WASN'T EXPECTING ANY OF THAT.
The finale to the Crimson Falls Duet ends with a bang. There were so many questions and I was anxious if she will be able to wrap it all up or if we will get something else. But in end, everything rolled out perfectly. Scarlett, Lycan, and Darius are amazing. There's so much going on in their lives but they overcome it all eventually. The narration is amazing and that ending scene with Yasmine- *chef's kiss*. Twisted, intriguing, gritty, and steamy as hell- the duet is a rollercoaster ride without a seatbelt.

Bitter Truths is the conclusion to the Crimson Falls Duet. It’s action packed, from the start and it takes place right after the first book ends.
Lycan was shot and Scarlett is taken by his brother Darius. The only thing she wants to do now is get back to her husband.
Darius is the man you’d love to hate, but as we get to know him he starts to grow on you. Scarlett gives as good as she gets and we see her become fierce. The smexy scenes are hot.
The Crimson Falls Duet is a great dark romance read.

The conclusion happily picks up with the characters exactly where we left them. Lycan has been injured and Scarlett is now in the clutches of Darius. From the start the pace is fast and the action never stops. I liked how Lycan helped Scarlett explore her sexuality in a way that made her feel safe loved and grew her confidence. I enjoyed the storyline because Dani kept me reading trying to guess which direction she was going in. A really enjoyable duet and hopefully it's not the last we've seen of Darius.

I have to say that Dani René never strays from her true to form diabolical brilliance so I can honestly say I NEVER SAW THIS COMING LIKE IT DID! Bitter Truths is the conclusion to Lycan & Scarlett's story, and it picks right back up where Bitter Vows (Book 1) left off so YOU HAVE TO READ Book 1 FIRST! A lot of things happened in the first book, but even more happened this round so the twists that were coming in hot had my head a mess & my f-bombs dropping loudly. The sexy times are sexier, while the feelings are more intense. Secrets that don't make friends are coming to light, Scarlett's family & Lycan's family is something else, so you don't want to start this one before bed since there will be no sleep until every last page is devoured! Another perfectly dark & twisty well done job Ms. René! HIGHLY HIGHLY HIGHLY RECOMMEND!

What an incredible conclusion to this duet which picks up exactly where book one ends. Once again I found myself completely transported and immersed into the story and did not want to let this one go as this is definitely one of my favorite couples. With everything going on my head was spinning once again and I am so sad for this book to be over

This is a great duet and I loved reading about how much Lycan genuinely loved Scarlett and the lengths he went to at his own expense to make sure she was genuinely happy. I hated Darius for what he did to Lycan and Scarlett but I started to get it by the end of the book

Bitter Truths by Dani René is undoubtedly the best retelling of Little Red Riding Hood. Honestly she twisted it and broke the narrative superbly so that it's an almost new story with only the basic idea remaining. The conclusion of this fierce duet was equally deviant, emotional and heart wrenching.
Scarlett Bardot has be "sold" to Lycan Shaw by her father. Just when she has come to love this dark and dangerous alpha, she is kidnapped by the other Shaw brother. VP of Devil's Cove MC Darius Shaw. Darius has some scores to settle with Lycan but actually they have the same enemies.
