The ice queen by lane walker. Josey and Mason lived in a house right by lake david and the house they lived in was connected to a bait shop that thare family have owned for years. But Josey the oldest over hered here father and a guy that works at a bank saying that they owe the bank $20,000 by the end of the week or they will take the bait shop. Josey knew about the ice composition. In just one week. Catching the ice queen was $20,000, catching the biggest fish of the year was $10,000 and 2 place was $100. So Josey told Mason about the shop and went fishing. They did not catch 1 fish today and so far the biggest fish of the year was 16.5 pounds. They needed help so they went to an old friend that was alive the last time the ice queen got caught. The day they were going to go talk to here their parents threw a party they do every year so they lied about going to the ice rink so they could go to their old friends house. She was trying to win a video game contest. They went fishing, one the biggest of the year got $10,000 but it was not enuf. They talked together as a family then a knock on the door no yon was there but there was a box they opened it and there was $10,000 there friend must have one the contest now they can save the shop.

Christian Middle Grade book
She and her brother must win the fishing competition’s cash prize to save their bait shop!

STRONGLY DISLIKE: they go seek advice from “the witch.” Seeing as this is explicitly a Christian book, I REALLY did NOT like that.
Why are we teaching Christian kids — or any kids, for that matter — to go to witches to solve their problems?
Seriously!?!
Turns out, the lady is NOT a witch — just a 73 year old lonely lady who plays video games. But still.
We don’t know that at first.
Page 24: "Josey, I know who we need to talk to," he began.
"Who?" I asked…
"The witch," he quietly mouthed, almost whisper-ing.
"Winnie the Witch? Are you out of your mind?"

They reiterate several times that she is a witch, and on page 94, she agrees with them, saying: “I could have told you this area is no good, but you two wouldn't have listened to an old witch.”

Dagnabit, Mr. Walker, how am I supposed to put a Witch book in my church library? The parents would NOT be happy with me!

I liked the book it was cool and had some thrillers. It also was about fishing and I love fishing. So it's about a girl named Josey and she is trying to save her dad's bait shop. So they have to come up with 20,000 dollars to save it or it is owned by the bank. So Josey goes and meets Winnie the townspeople call Winnie a witch. The reason they call her a witch is because she is not nice. So she tells Josey she had a swimming hole and that stuff I don't want to spoil any more so that is it.
