Alpha Dylan took over as pack alpha four years ago and doesn’t feel any more ready for the role now than he did back then. The pack is stagnant, the finances dwindling, and he isn’t given the full respect needed to be successful. He’s not going to let that stand in his way, vowing to himself to help the pack prosper once more and to not get tied up in other pack’s business. Yeah, that didn’t work.
Omega Niko has one mission—to keep his fellow omegas safe as they escape from the cruel Shadowpine pack who held them captive. On the run, they find themselves at the border of the Northbay and Greycoast pack lands seeking asylum. Dylan agrees to let them stay under his protection. Niko won’t stay around alphas for long, but he has no choice. They need enough time for them to regain their strength and for Niko’s pregnant brother to safely give birth. It isn’t ideal, but it will have to do. He can’t risk the life of his brother and nephew by continuing to run.
When Dylan and Niko meet, their attraction is immediate. Too bad the timing is bad and the situation even worse. Determined to ignore their connection for the sake of their packs and other responsibilities, each decides to focus on the wolves they have sworn to protect. Who needs a mate? Spoiler alert: They do.

Jena began writing in January of 2013 as a New Year's Resolution--and so far she has stuck to it!
She lives in Michigan. By day she works as a web developer, and at night she writes. Born and raised on a farm, she spends most of her free time outdoors, playing in the garden, or riding her horses. She also helps run the family dairy farm.
This was an emotion filled ride from start to finish!
Wow... This book was a pure joy to read. I loved getting to see friends from the Grey coast pack and meeting so many wonderful new ones. The authors' continued world building added a great deal more to an already diverse and fascinating world. Have to admit I spent the final quarter of the book reading through tear-filled eyes. With writing this good I lived the story!
This was honestly the most *meh* book I've read in a long time.
MM wolf shifter stories are usually a safe bet if you want action and... action. And the story blurb promises both those things: Niko is the Omega fleeing from a ruthless pack/captor, and Dylan is the Alpha who takes him in. And then Niko's heat starts.
I mean, I don't think I was wrong in expecting some intense conflict followed by a final dust-up with some bad guys, and also some steamy knotting. That's why I bought the book. But instead I got the most unremarkable and dull shifter read I've ever encountered. If this book was a dish, it would be oatmeal. Or perhaps that's insulting to oatmeal?
About the steam. Despite the storyline using Niko's heat to finally get the two MCs to finally act on their feelings, it was ridiculous how tame the scene was. Niko and Dylan, supposedly fated mates, getting it on during Niko's heat and Dylan's rut was about as sizzling as a flat glass of water. The scene might as well have been entirely fade-to-black.
And about the other kind of action. Most of the story was Niko and his fellow omegas worrying and just moping about in Northbay. For the longest time, they didn't even tell their rescuers what/who were chasing them. And when they finally did, Dylan and his pack didn't actually do anything to prepare for an eventual attack. No, instead Dylan was all occupied with cuddling with Niko and trying to reassure him everything would be fine. Then, when the attack actually happens, it was the most anti-climactic event ever.
So this story was a huge waste of time. That's why I'm writing this review, so that nobody else will make the same mistake. The story still gets two stars though, because technically, there's nothing wrong with the writing - only the content.
4.5☆ There are many great characters to connect with in this well written, emotionally potent story. It tells of the strength of the survivors, the genuine connections, the balance of a dark past and a bright future, danger, trust issues, caring and compassionate people, and much more. Dylan and Niko have a difficult journey to get through, they complete and compliment each other, have sizzling chemistry, a powerful love, and a sweet and satisfying HEA. I would definitely recommend this book and I look forward to the next one in the series.

What I love in a shifter book. Bad A$$ Omega, meeting his fate mate with all the denial because hello bad A omega. Realizing that he doesn’t have to do it all by himself and forming a partnership of love plus fate. Letting those walls down. Alpha with a squishy side. Cause Alphas don’t always need to be stone. Don’t let that squish trick you, this Alpha will tear down a town for his mate. Add in heat, knots, mpreg and the very awesome side characters and that is what I love and loved about this book. My only question.... is Cujo still a wolf?
A strong willed Omega and an Alpha pack leader get together and you have an amazing story. I liked Niko and Dylan. Their first meeting was filled with distrust and misgivings but once Niko began to feel safe and secure things started to change and his bond to Dylan grew tight. Mutual respect of their positions in their pack made their joining effortless, intense and sweet. The fates brought them together and mates they were. Some action... a little heat but a lot of warm hearted moments. A very satisfying HEA for the MCs and we get a peek on what's to come in the next book in the series. Nice!

I really liked this story. Good amount of angst to sassiness! Good enough for me to purchase the next 3 books. Hopefully there are 2 more books in the works because the twins need their HEA!!! Recommended happy reading
Think I am going to DNF this one. The writing is really weird and all over the place. I like the story so far but can't get past the word dialogue. Started this one a looong time ago and never got around to adding it to my DNF shelf
The beginning pulled me in instantly. Niko shouldered a lot of responsibility and I admired his strength, determination and protectiveness over his small pack.
My jaw dropped at the way Niko spoke to Dylan - he was fiery with a no none sense attitude.
Every omega was interesting in their own way; each carrying their own sadness and hurt. I wanted to hug them all.
Fantastic book and I really enjoyed it. Piers is up next and I’m looking forward to seeing what’s in store for him.

This book was another great addition in the world these authors have created. For those who love the hurt/comfort trope, you are in for a treat with this one! Lots of off page trauma to the omegas. You do not need to read the prior series to know what is happening here but it adds more to the world building.
Alpha-hole internal monologue: Omega with a independent streak (taking care of other abused omegas as they flee their old pack) is referred to as a pseud0-alpha, since of course omegas can't be leaders and must be defined in relation to the Alpha role.
I love good shifter pack stories and this one was no exception. It was my first book by these authors, and they didn't disappoint. I can honestly say I liked almost all the characters (not including the villain(s)). Some I would have loved to see and learn more about as they had small roles, and I suspect if this will become a series, we will. I'm particularly intrigued by Reeva- the pack healer who seems to sense things a lot more strongly than usual and is always referred to as they/their. At first sight by Niko, Reeva was described as "a person"- no mention of gender or physical description except to be a solid 6 inches shorter than the alpha. Every time I read about Reeva I wonder if they are meant to be androgynous, genderless, or if it's just to have more mystery around them. I suppose we'll learn more (maybe?) in future books. They seem almost ethereal to me.
Though it rarely happens for me, through the first half the the book, I was pretty torn between liking and disliking Niko. I understand he's been through unimaginable horror and forced to step into a leadership role for the sake of those he loves. But there were lots of times he just rubbed me the wrong way. I loved his interactions with the other omegas. But once they reached Dylan's pack, pretty much desperate for help, he just seemed nasty. I can understand his dislike for alphas after the way they'd been treated. I understand he would piss off the alphas of Shadowpine pack to direct their cruelty to him and away from others. But it just seemed so foolish how disrespectful and defensive he was being to alpha Dylan in front of his betas. He was asking for a favor in a dire situation and I was quite surprised he expected/hoped for help with the way he would talk back to simple questions after invading another pack's territory. I don't see why he couldn't speak firmly to show his strength while still being respectful to someone trying to help you at your request. He just seemed kind of dismissive of Dylan and I also couldn't stop the niggling feeling that Dylan accepting that kind of talkback could weaken his image in the eyes of onlookers- which is where I thought it would go since it was mentioned early on that not all supported his taking over as alpha- and thought that seemed more plausible a reason (plot-wise) for Niko talking back that way, but it never happened and nothing came of it. I guess it was just meant to be part of Niko's "strength." I didn't like it.
I was also iffy on their relationship. The first half the the book is Dylan trying to help and be protective, Niko sort of avoiding him or still being a little dismissive at times in their conversations. Then in the second half, they were just suddenly warmer with each other. Niko's constant back and forth between letting Dylan close and pushing him away got under my skin I'll admit until he finally made up his mind. After that their relationship seemed more normal.
This book also has my strongest vice- hiding or withholding information. I can't stand when people do that on TV or in books and just make their lives harder or create drama when a little explanation would clear things up. Niko (and the omegas) took forever to explain what they'd been through with Shadowpine. I understand if they didn't want to give details until much later due to the trauma, but it bothered me that they didn't even bother telling them that a dangerous pack was hunting them. The excuse was that when they felt like they could trust in Northbay, they would explain. I kept waiting for Dylan to tell Niko that in order to protect his pack, he needed to know what danger they might be facing but didn't. Instead content to simply wait until Niko was ready. That also seemed foolish of an Alpha responsible for a whole pack especially after seeing the condition the omegas were in when they arrived. I would have thought he would push a little more or at least be more alert.
My favorite part of the book was the description of pack life. The way they looked out for and cared for each other. The pack restaurant where everyone shared meals together and enjoyed each other's company. The alpha's house where the door was never locked and all were welcomed to approach. Overall, you get the strong feeling of family that was just so heartwarming to read about. And in spite of the mention of not complete support for Dylan in the beginning, the book showed complete support in the interactions and loyalty of the pack.
A very good book in spite of my nitpicking. I'm definitely looking forward to the sequel. Give this one a read!
This is the first book in this series and it has set the bar high for the books that follow. This is the story of Dylon and Niko. Dylon is the pack alpha of the Northbay Pack. He is ever vigilant to protect his pack and his lands. When the intruder alert is sounded, we meet Niko. Niko is an omega. He is the leader of a group of omega's escaping from the captivity and abuse they suffered from the Shadowpine Pack. Niko negotiates asylum from Dylon. Niko's brother Piers is pregnant and carrying his nephew. All the omega's desperately need food and rest. They are treated with respect by the Northbay Pack. After the treatment they have received, they find it hard to believe that an alpha would care for them and not abuse them. Eventually the goodwill and kind acts by the Northbay Pack wear down the walls the omega's put up for survival. They are welcomed and embraced by the Northbay Pack.
When Dylan and Niko first meet, sparks fly. Dylan recognized that Niko is his fated mate right away. They are both leaders of their own packs. They jointly decide to put duty first and ignore the attraction. As the omega group becomes more comfortable and enveloped in the Northbay Pack, Dylan and Niko are able to start putting their personal feelings first. This is where their relationship first starts.
This is a well written book that is easy to read. After this excellent start to this series, I look forward to future books.

This was exciting. The supportive character descriptions was tantalizing. I read right through to find out what would happen. Niko is an amazing hero! He stepped up and led his group. Lewis, Ralf, Seymour, Cujo, Piers and Cujo seem like brave, nice Omega guys. The concept of the three generation pack alphas was nice and comforting. Niko's pack, ran away from their pack after reaching their tipping points. They looked to and followed Niko out of trust. Dylan, as the pack Alpha welcomed the Omegas out of compassion, courtesy, respect and caring. They fought the idea of 'mate' stubbornly. Carter, Niko's pack, previous Alpha, took and didn't give back. Niko understands he needs to tell Dylan the Omega truth. At first he feared the pack wouldn't want the problems the Omega brought. Then Dylan welcomed the Omegas and invited them to join the pack. Does Carter find the Omegas? Is Dylan and pack informed? Is Piers' baby safe? Does Kenon ever speak/present? Good story. Absolutely looking forward to how pack grows. Well done! I received an ARC from Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
This was absolutely fantastic. What a wonderful start to this second shifter series: I loved the "Greycoast Pack" series, but I have an inkling that this one will be my favourite. "Claiming His Pack" has everything I love in a book (especially an omegaverse one) and then more: romance and humour, sweet and steamy moments, a ton chemistry between the MCs, a boatload of angst (TW: ), layered and complex characters with dark and tough pasts, uber-protective alphas and strong but lovely omegas. I loved both Dylan and Niko so damn much, individually and together. I loved how laid back and responsible Dylan was, and I absolutely loved that Niko had such a complex personality, a strong and badass side and a more needy, vulnerable one, both of which felt pretty realistic. I also completely loved all the other members omega gang and Reeva (AND ALSO: those Kade and Ozzy appearances gave me life, my babies *cries*) and I cannot wait to start Piers' story: I just know it's going to destroy me, in the best way possible.
- a MM shifter romance! omegaverse, fated mates, wolves, instalove, found family, MPreg, hurt/comfort - Niko omg you already own my heart - i’ve already read the twins books so i hate that they’re suffering atm :( - the first part of this book was SO intense omg 🥺 my poor babies - cos OBVIOUSLY they don’t trust and they’re standoffish and i just wanna tell them they can trust these alphas!! - i just love them all so much and NEED to protect him - i love how he’s become friends with Dylan’s granddad!! - i love how careful and gentle Dylan is with Niko🥺 he wants him so bad but is so patient - OKAY HEAT SCENE!!! - noooo omg Niko don’t run away!! Dylan will protect you - their backstories are so gut wrenching, the alphas all had the best responses - why did Carter think they would just… give them back?! fucking weirdo - their (like literally everyone’s) reactions to the pregnancy was the cutest ever omg - really good sex scenes!! - third act conflict was VERY intense and my lil brain couldn’t figure it all out - the ending and epilogue was so frickin sweet!! - i really loved this one, the character development with the omegas was perfect
Can a struggling pack provide Sanctuary for omegas on the run from an abusive pack?
This book picks up where the Greycoast Pack series ends. If this book is any indication, this new series is going to be wonderful! I won't repeat the blurb . What I will say is that I feel right at home in this world. Old friends welcomed me back. New ones touched my heart. This story has it all: omegas in need of a safe haven, an Alpha who doesn't know he needs a mate, a danger that threatens everything, sexy times, and babies. Come. Join Alpha Dylan and omega Niko as they risk all that they are to keep the other omegas safe. Their road to HEA is bumpy, but assured. The journey will take you on an emotional wave. So worth the ride! Ooh, you are gonna love this book! Get. It. Now! I do recommend reading the Greycoast Pack series. Time. Well. Spent. This book contains adult themes and language, mm sex and is intended for mature readers only.
Letting Go of Fear Wow the Omegas that found their way to the Northbay Pack's territory were something else. Definitely not your typical Omegas. They were very protective of each other which made it hard to admit they needed help and even harder for their Lead Omega to accept it.
Unfortunately those Omegas had to be tough in order to break away from a horrible life and venture out into the scary world where danger lurked - but could it be worse than what they left behind? Fear of the unknown could be debilitating though so could being stuck in the nightmares of the past. The Lead Omega couldn't afford to show any fear or vulnerability. He had too many depending on him. But neither did he want his troubles to hurt the welcoming Northbay Pack.
But the Northbay people succeeded in making this little pack of Omegas feel like they did belong. That they would be welcomed into their wonderful pack whose members visibly cared about each other. Where the Alphas weren't Monsters. If only they could let go of their fear.
I’m so glad Dylan finally gets his chance at a happily ever after. I’ve been waiting for his story since he was first introduced and Niko is perfect for him! Definitely check out the previous series The Greycoast Pack before you read this one if you can for more context on the world in general and the introduction of Dylan and his brother Ozzy (an MC of Finding His Potential: Greycoast Pack Book 3) who makes an appearance in this book! ⚠️Possible spoilers below———⚠️ Yes finally a heat! I was wondering if they were going to be a thing in this omegaverse world since they hadn’t been mentioned before. It was a nice way to bring the characters together given the situation and how Niko was treated before. I hope we get to see a further dismantling of Shadowpine and the omega trafficking in general! Overall Rating: 💖💖💖💖💖 (5) Spice Rating: 🌶️🌶️ (2) Fluff Rating: 🧸🧸🧸 (3) Content/Trigger Warnings: human trafficking, mentions of abuse, violence, murder, discrimination against omegas, omegaverse, mpreg
I enjoyed reading this delightful, sweet & heartwarming MM/Mpreg shifter romance that can easily stand on its own. I found the plot to be well-written & definitely intriguing with the emotional journey the two main characters went through to get their happy ending. There is good support from the secondary characters. It is about: an alpha (Dylan) of the Northbay pack is confronted by a feisty male omega (Niko) determined to protect his pregnant brother (Piers) & the other omegas in his care while being on the run from an unbelievably cruel Shadowpine Pack. There is: alphas, omegas, pack issues, fated mates, Mpreg, action, drama, intrigue, suspense, mystery, secrets, desperation, anguish, memories, distrust, decisions, protectiveness, attractions, playfulness, heat issues, temptation, determination, intruders, danger, threats, conflict, violence, contentment, love, some steam & a wonderful happy ending with a tantalizing glimpse of the next book in this series.
Niko, a feisty, strong-willed Omega is leading a group of Omegas to what he hopes will be safety as they run from the cruelty of another pack. But they are hungry and exhausted. His brother Piers’ pregnancy could be in jeopardy if he doesn’t get to rest, give birth, and recover.
Niko confronts the Alpha pack leader Dylan of the struggling Northbay pack. The Omegas don’t trust anyone right now, but eventually they start to feel safe as they are treated kindly here. Niko and Dylan recognize they are mates, but with everything in an uproar, there is nothing they can do about it right now. Dylan’s pack has been struggling to pull itself together, but having the Omegas trust them and rely on their protection, they will do their best to keep them safe. Packs are family and take care of each other. And hopefully Dylan and Niko will form a deep bond once their wolves are safe and they can take some time for themselves.
Contains: wolf shifters, omegas escaping a bad pack, fates mated, heat/rut (but not immediate), knot, mpreg.
Tw: mentions of abused, gang r@pə, k!ll, műŕdəŕ of an omega in front of his brother. Detailed act of violence about the alpha chasing them and trying to bring them back.
I love it soooo much. Second chance to happiness and love for these little fierce omegas. They have scars, but their lives will change for the best in the new pack.
**May contains spoiler**
Even if they escape, they are not safe until their chasers are dead. Omegas escape a bad place, bad pack where they were treated like toys. They take refuge in a new pack where they will be safe. The omega leader will also be surprised to find his mate there. Neither of them expected it. They are not at the right time in their lives for love. They have just escaped and don't feel safe, plus their past is full of big baggage.

Rated this a 3.5/5 . Why? strange enough to say with all the potential this story had for emotions, the emotional landscape of the story was largely a flat affect. It was muted and the opposite of over-the-top drama. The author stayed consistent within the world built by this novel, but the reader was given the absolute minimum to work with. Characters had some development and the plot arc was rich with potential. On the plus side, the writing was fluid and the editing was fine. will I read the rest? Well, it was not so terrible that it would drive me away and I do have to deal with this compulsive need to read an entire series. Plus there is always the hope the writer will improve.
If you like shifter romance - this breaks the box from cookie cutter stories!
Dylan is Alpha in charge and having a mate would do wonders for his pan and him. He doesn't want to settle but eventually he has to make a choice. Nikon an Omega but is in charge of his little pack Alpha Omega to find a safe place for those he rescued. The plot has twist & turns with drama & suspense. If you like shifter stories this is a nice change from old story lines. If you like MM romance that Dylan what a sweetie. Nikon is pretty impressive himself. V3, S3 more reviews then please check out @my2centsbookliver Thank you!
I Recommend you read this series. Better to be read after Greycoast series, but will stiil be enjoyable even if you do not. I was Goodreads recommended a book. When looking into it, another reader mentioned reading this authors series of Greycoast, which I did. Loved it. Then that led me to this series, Northbay. This series is just as good as the other. I never read these authors before, they are awesome! One of my favorites are when authors do the unexpected making you think: well, I didn't see that coming. These authors do that and more. Another is when they go against the norm... These authors do that also!!
Dylan is an alpha who agrees to help a group of omega's on the run. He gives them sanctuary when they are in need. Niko is an omega, a fierce omega who has a lot of heart and determination to get the omegas to safety. They have instant an chemistry and connection! I seriously love shifter stories and this one did not disappoint! The world building is sooo good! The story is well written and entertaining, a lot of emotions, couldn't put it down!
