Obsidian River, known to his friends as 'Dian' has lived a long and comfortable life, working as an enforcer for the Paranormal Council with his friend Eagle. Being sent to Arrowtown to track down a faint lead on a missing rhino shifter was an everyday occurrence. Besides, he would get to catch up with an old friend, Cam and gossip had it, that Cam owned a bar and his mate owned a bakery. Dian was always a fan of fresh baked goods and beer. In his head it was simple - go to Arrowtown, sample some local fun and head home again. That was, until he heard a certain man laugh...
Keenak, known as Kee to everyone around him, hadn't been working at Cam's bar in Arrowtown long, but he already felt as though he'd found a permanent home. The people were friendly, he was renting a cute little apartment, and Brutus at the bakery made the best bear claws he'd ever had. It was nice, to just stop running - to shoot the breeze with the locals at the bar, and sleep in a warm bed at night. Cam's dislike of men in suits added to his feeling comfortable... until two men in suits came to town.
Pixie dust doesn't always make rainbows. When people start coming out of the woodwork after Kee, the two men must make a choice - run and pray no one catches up to them, or trust in the people of Arrowtown to keep them safe.
Dian and Kee are two new characters to Arrowtown, and this book can be read as a standalone. But the plot lines regarding the rhino and a certain rabbit in Cam's bar will mean more if you've read previous books in the series. This is an MM Fated Mates story containing graphic language, a few incidents of violence, and intimate situations between men written specifically for adults. Please store your ebooks responsibly.
Lisa Oliver had been writing non-fiction books for years when visions of half dressed, buff men started invading her dreams. Unable to resist the lure of her stories, Lisa decided to switch to fiction books, and now stories about her men clamor to get out from under her fingertips. When Lisa is not writing, she is usually reading with a cup of tea always at hand. Her grown children and grandchildren sometimes try and pry her away from the computer and have found that the best way to do it, is to promise her chocolate. Lisa will do anything for chocolate. I love Arrowtown and all its inhabitants. I'm so glad Lisa Oliver is not done yet.
This installment is a low angst mm shifter mpreg romance mainly focused on their relationship. The bad guys are handled swiftly and efficiently without much fuss. Compared to the previous books this one feels a little more low key and calm.
The two people coming to love one another couldn't be more different at first glance. Seeing a massive man with a stoney demeanor, one would think him cold and being able to handle anything. The sweet arctic fox, always looking over his shoulder on the the other hand would seem flighty and in need of protection. Well, color me surprised. After getting to know the two of them you soon realize that the strong mountain of a man is rather insecure in his personal life and Kee, the clever fox, as nerves of steel when push comes to shove. Together they are a well balanced couple.
I can't wait to find out who will find their mate next? Maybe Rocky? He has waited so patiently while everyone around him found their mates, his only company the tasty treats at Cam's bar... and the bakery... and the diner... and well you get the drift 🙃
I bought the first book in this series just a few days ago. Since then, I’ve been reading nonstop, even staying awake for over 24-hours once😱😁. But, I haven’t been able to put these books down. This one was as great as all the rest. I’m still hooked. The characters are interesting & endearing, I adore the town & it’s residents, especially Mrs. Hooper😁 (I thought Marybelle might’ve ended up being her mate, at first😔) & all the babies! I can’t wait for the next book to come & I wonder who it will be that gets their HEA. So many people I want find that happiness, even D.G.A.F.🤣. With Dave being so much older & so bored (it seems), it’d be cool if he got a mate, too. Someone who could give him a reason to stay out of Cam’s bar🤣. The only suggestion I have would be that it would be nice to see a little human diversity in the series. I love how much species diversity there is & how accepting & protective of everyone Arrowtown is. I just wish to read about a character or 2 that I could see myself in, as well🤷🏽♀️. As these are m/m stories, pretty much all I read, it would be nice to read about some people of color living in Arrowtown, too, unless they don’t. Which, I guess would be fine, I don’t try to tell people how to express their talents. I just thought it might be an oversight. The series is still great, but I must confess to expecting a POC in every story, but there hasn’t been one, then feeling a bit of disappointment at that. Not even in the background characters. Anyway, it’s a wonderful series & I recommend it to all those who enjoy m/m paranormal stories. I know you will enjoy it, too.
New characters, and brand new types of shifters, come into Arrowtown for this next book in the series with some surprises but mostly a swift romance.
Much of the hang ups in this book rely on each shifter having a history that involves hiding in some way. Dian has been around long enough that when he was born supernaturals weren't out in public and as such his type of shifter (gargoyles) had to hide. This means that his wooing has some downfalls, from becoming literally frozen in place to hiding rather than coming out to try to meet his mate. It makes it a bit difficult for him to open up and imagine a public life, but both his new mate and his new town work towards helping him with that.
Kee on the other hand had an unusual slightly off the grid raising and has a general mistrust of government types. Finding out that his mate is a government type triggers some of those fears, but Kee is trusting in fate and willing to make things work. Of the two Kee is fierce but also more trusting, believing that the way to work things out can always be found together. This is a driving force behind their relationship and does help to make plenty of things come through.
With a few angsty hang ups but some good progress and a bit of interesting fun with the new shifter types in this book this was an easy and enjoyable read.
I've got just one word - Amazing! This book was so much more than I expected! I'll admit I was a little bummed when I read the blurb and discovered that this book was going to feature two new characters and not one of the ones I'd come to love, but it was absolutely amazing! Kee is the most adorable, upbeat shifter hybrid and Dian compliments him with his serious and more subdued personality. I'm not going to spoil the surprise of what exactly they both are, because it's really something you need to discover with the characters themselves. I will say that, once again, Lisa Oliver has outdone herself in terms of giving us the most unique and special paranormal characters. She literally has the Midas touch, but with words, and I devour everything she puts out. Fated mates, Mpreg, magic and the course of real love, no matter how rocky, are her golden trademarks and I honestly can't recommend this, as well as her other series, enough. The world of Arrowtown is so believable and real that I almost expect to be able to find it on Google maps! I can't wait for future books in this series and all the other HEA's that are out there!
Cams former job keeps coming back to haunt him. His boss Austin has gone missing and the company sent Eagle and Dian to see if they could find a clue as to where he. Dian find his mate and Cam’s bar, but he has so many issues that it’s difficult for him to approach his mate. Kee It’s an arctic fox pixie mix, and he plows right through the big guys problems and lets him know that his gargoyle form isn’t hideous. Everyone is after key the government, big business, vampires, and most just want his dust . For all the possible fighting legal action takes care of two of the three problems and jail takes care of the vampire . Kee’s parents are over the top strange andDian‘s parents are over the top reclusive . They have a home town friends, and now they have triplets .
I always love journeying back to Arrowtown. The people are amazing and always so supportive of everyone there no matter how long they’ve been around. Even though these two were new and aren’t part of the core group it was still so much fun to get to know them. Dian and Kee are so much fun I absolutely loved the feisty fox and grumpy gargoyle. They complimented each other perfectly and have so much fun doing it. There was tons of sass and and lots of laughter in this book not to mention way overprotective grumpiness. It was great to see how the community comes together to help them and to protect them from outside danger and all the things that could threaten their happiness. I can’t wait for the next time I can visit and hear more of their stories.
Dian, a gargoyle shifter is in town with fellow agent begging for a lead in a missing higher up government supervisor from Cam who once worked for said supervisor. Cam can't help them but as they are leaving the bar Dian hears his mate as gargoyle shifters can't scent their fated mates. The fox shifter can scent him and is shocked his mate runs from him. Things are complicated with them getting together and then even more so when after claiming Kee, our fox shifter learns he is also a pixie when pixie dust shows up. Our fated couple has to deal with vicious fae, obsessed vampire and evil government agents. We get a HEA but there a lot to contend with beforehand. Highly recommend.
Gargoyle, half arctic fox half pixie perfect combination
This is the six book in the Arrowtown series. This one is about Obsidian River known as Dian, a 350 plus gargoyle and Keenak known as Lee a half arctic fox half pixie shifter. Dian is sent to Arrowtown in search of Austin a rhino shifter (from Cam' s Chance) and Kee has settled there after being on the run from an obsessed vampire. What happens next is a hesitant start to a fated mating, discovery of pixie dust, threats from the fae, the obsessed vampire, the interference of the paranormal council, pregnancy and finally a HEA. Love this series and can't wait for the next one.
One of the most entertaining books I read in some time. I have always found this writing style to be unique with this author. I love how from the start of the first book in her series, she blends new and recurring characters in the new story she is writing. This time the adding of the genre two fated mates were both unusual as well not the type roles played by the characters in the books. I look forward to more of this series and maybe a chance for some more uncommon shifters to visit Arrowtown.
Loved it.... Soo much ....it's amazing how the story unfolds..every book I read I keep saying this is my favourite one yet...and as the characters from the other books pop up ...I keep repeating that...I really loved this story....Roger rabbit had my attention since he was first mentioned........just like the Austin mystery.....it's a relief knowing what happened to them it completes the story...I'm not left hanging with an incomplete story and get still I'm looking towards the new releases.....looking forward to the rest of the books.......beautiful....

This series just keeps getting better and better. Okay so I’ve fallen in love with all of the characters in it and am totally invested in what happens to them. This couple were total newcomers to Arrowtown but managed to steal my heart just as all the other residents of the town have. I also love the fact that even the minor characters are not forgotten like Roger the pool shark rabbit and Cam’s old boss Austin. I highly recommend all the books in this series thus far. So go on get reading.
I love this author and I did enjoy the story. I loved Kee and the rest of the arrowtown characters, however I did not like Dian. He was insufferable and just made reading so frustrating. I get people have insecurities, but his rules his life constantly! The relationship was Kee giving and Dian taking. There was zero trust for his supposed fated mate. And I really don’t see how love happened.
Wishing I had the money to buy all the books I want to own would be a dream come true because I'm not very patient having to wait till I can afford them to read them. Lol. Totally crazy about the author and this series. Recommended for a great read with just the right amount of low-angst and giggles to the happily ever after you know is coming at the end.
I love a good book and this is one I have loved this series you can read it as a stand alone but then you miss the before with tigers bunnies and wolves oh my. But the New is the best parts the babies the friends and sometimes there world is better than mine because it was a great book
Oh Lisa, I really got a kick out of this one. I am so glad you wrote it. I will look forward to more and I am particularly interested in Loki for the next story in Gods. They are as close to Cloverleah as I think I’m ever gonna get again, lol. And remember if you write it, I will buy it 😊
Another fantastic read from Lisa. It is amazing what wonderful things she comes up with! As you can tell I just love this author. Highly recommended! Start with the first one in the series though as it will explain some background stuff. Just a warning though, Lisa’s books are highly addictive 😁
If you haven't visited Arrowtown then what's stopping you. If this town was real I'd have already packed my bags and quit my job. Another wonderful addition to the series. Read this one first and then enjoy finding out more about the characters that fill this wonderful series. Thanks Lisa stay healthy so Arrowtown can bring more joy into our lives.
I liked this couple. They fit well together. This is a re read for me. It says that it's a stand alone but after this 2nd time around it really isn't in my opinion. There's other plot lines and characters that I missed out on understanding the 1st time. Oh and the council still somehow managed to look like idiots in the brief moment they had in this book.
The Fox/Pixie and the Gargoyle! I loved this one! Who am I king ding? I have loved all of them. There is something special about Kee and Dian though. Two shifters who have experienced prejudice for different reasons and the safety and home of Arrowtown. This series is just awesome.
This was a good couple to add this series. It was a little surprising since Kee and Dian both were new characters, but I think it was a refreshing break from the ones we read about in each book of the series. I'd love to read about Eagle and Roger more so hopefully in the future it'll happen.
A Gargoyle and a Artic Fox/Pixie shifter. Acceptance and love. Another great Arrowtown story. I highly recommend this book, series and author. Lisa Oliver, you did it again!
I love Lisa Oliver's writing; she's one of my favorite authors. This book was an excellent addition to the series. Down and Keep were total opposites, but they worked. It was a great book with an interesting story.
Another absolutely amazing read. Great Arrowtown addition. Loved seeing the otger characters but loved LOVED the Gargoyle!!! So much life and love in these stories! Wonderful!
I do love a story from Lisa. This book has made me laugh and made me go awww. I enjoyed getting snippets of old characters and look forward to reading more from Arrowtown.
Five stars for such an interesting, suspenseful, at times, very funny episodes in this book by Lisa Oliver. I am a fan and would like to see the next series in City Dragons. I recommend this book and all others by Lisa Oliver.
I loved Dian and Kee. They are great together. They have to go over some obstacles but I really loved how they handled them, especially Kee. The ending was amazing and a lot of fun.
Arrow town is a great place to escape to the whole series is.great . I loved this book Dian is a bad ass he takes on the dregs of the world who think themselves superior. The love and care he has for his mate is the best .
Obsidian River ( Dian) and Keenak (Kee) MM. Dian and Kee are both interesting Paranormals/Shifters that we have not seen before. Dian is a Gargoyle and Kee is a Artic fox and a Pixie. Great story. Fits in well with the series. MPREG
Loved the world view of Arrowtown since the first book came out. If you love mpreg various types and new shifters. Then this series is for you. Lisa Oliver is great at bringing her characters to life.
