A storybook collection of our favorite Bluey stories!
4 BOOKS in 1? Wackadoo! Readers will love this collection of Bluey’s greatest adventures, plus fun facts about everyone’s favorite characters! It’s the best of Bluey all in one book! This book includes Good Night, Fruit Bat; The Creek ; Bob Bilby; and The Beach.
It's just shortened versions of 4 over-played episodes (Good Night, Fruit Bat; The Creek; Bob Bilby; The Beach) plus 2-4 sentences on each character, which constitutes the "Meet the Characters" portion. Dad is Bandit and Mom is Chilli. Otherwise, nothing new to us. Paper very thin - hard to turn the pages. Disappointed with this: Bluey is such a brilliantly written series, I rather expected the same quality in a book. But all of the clever humour is missing. (It's just like the "In the Night Garden" BBC books - they read like the short blurb in the TV guide for each episode. Devoid of any real content, sadly).
This book has a 112 pages, and we've been reading it front to back, all the pages, the entire book, twice everyday, ever since we've had it.
If you read this book without any context from the TV series, the stories can seem quite broken, unimaginative, and a tad meaningless even.
However, for our three-year old who's a fruitbat every night, routinely a doctor that's "always busy" yet loves to jab injections in the day, and loves playing Keepy Uppy; this book is an absolute delight! All in all, this is a good "companion" book to the TV show.
Sidenote: Opinion on the TV series as a parent - highly recommend!
Great little 5-minute collection of stories to read, especially at bedtime. Its really just 4 stories since the last but of the book is showing you the characters. But I like the message of each story, at least the message that I interpret. Good Night, Fruit Bat is great for overcoming "i'm not tired though" and also appreciating Dad. The Creek is about loving nature and trying new things and being brave. Bob Bilby is about family time and stepping away from media and The Beach is about being brave and making fun on your own. Love this format, would read more if they made more.
We bought this while in Stratford to see Wendy & Peter. Kait read the entire thing while I stopped for a coffee and then I read it to them both this evening.
