Amnon Jackont was born in Israel in 1948 and grew up and in Ramat Gan. He was born to a bourgeois family that immigrated to Israel after WWII from Belgium and received a European education which laidemphasize on good manners. This is a great book, and I really enjoyed it. Amnon Jackont has a way with his words, and he is able to draw you into the story almost immediately. I look forward to reading more from this author.

I loved Love Trap. Amnon Jackont has written a story that had me guessing what would take place right up until the end. Dr. Daphne Bernstein has lost her job, her medical license, has paid for her mistake with a prison term and has now gone with her 11 year old daughter, Natalie to Jerusalem to pick up the pieces of her life. She takes a job with "Doctors for Humanitarian Causes" and is promised that she could get her medical license reinstated in a year. Daphne has made a series of bad choices and is coming to the conclusion that this is another one when she meets two interesting men. Both want something from her, but both leave her wondering about truth, lies and eventually love. As I stated, I love this book and held back on giving it five stars because I prefer clean romantic reads.
I was sent a copy of this e-book in exchange for my honest review. I was not financially compensated, and all opinions are my own.
Love Trap follows Dr Daphne Berstein as she is disgraced in medical field of the United States, serves a prison term, looses her job and her medical license; she decides to try to start over in to Jerusalem. She gets a job with "Doctors for Humanitarian Causes" and is told she could get her medical license reinstated within a year instead of the usual 8 years. The following chapters are a whirlwind of adjusting to life in a new country with her 11 year old daughter, Natalie. She soon discovers that her job placement was not by accident, a trap perhaps? She falls back into making bad choices, she finds her self with two new men in her life, but each wanting something from her...friendship, lies and love. She's in deep.
I found the beginning of the book to be slow, but once you get through the first half it does get much more interesting. My only complaint was that I felt a disconnect from the characters and Daphne she wasn't all that likable to me.
In the beginning of this book, I wasn't sure that I was going to like it. But, I pushed on and was pleasantly surprised. I really did relate with the main character, Daphne, and the things she had done to get where she was. I know plenty of people who would have done the exact same thing. Once the story started going, it was a very smooth and easy to read. The mystery aspect of the novel really did pique my interest and keep me reading to the next page. I also enjoyed a look into the culture of Jerusalem. I have never read anything based there and I found it quite interesting.
*I was provided with this book to review free of charge by Tomoson, however I have not been compensated monetarily for this review.
Daphne Bernstein did not like Jerusalem. She ended up there by chance, dragging along her young daughter, her useless medical license, her disgraceful past and her desperate hope to rebuild her life that has gone off course. In an ancient building, in the midst of a stormy winter, Daphne's life crosses paths with an alienated man and an ambiguous co-worker, who are both hiding a secret with heavy consequence. Is this a random meeting or a sophisticated trap? Love Trap is a fascinating and unconventional story about lies, friendship and love. It occurs in the dark and mysterious domain, between reality and distortion, created by fear and hope
This is a excellent book. I found myself wrapped up in their world. I recommend this book to all.
After losing her medical license and spending time behind bars, Daphne is out and begins her hunt for a job. She meets a man, marries and has a daughter Natalie. Daphne informs her husband about her past and that ends the relationship. After years of endless jobs, she leaves for Jerusalem to start a new life. During her search for a better job and life she is given the opportunity to work for “The Doctor’s of Humanitarians”.
The mystery unravels behind the walls of the building. Secrets and lies and a bit of love, not knowing who she can trust.
Love Trap definitely has us on the the edge of our seats wanting to know as much as Daphne what lies ahead. Amnon Jackont has a way with words and knows how to keep the readers wanting more.
I really like this book. It is slow at first, but if you keep reading, it does get really good. Basically this story is about a woman who made a bad choice, paid for it and then moved to a foreign land with her daughter to start fresh. She takes another job and starts making bad choices all over again, falls in love, and isn't a very good mom.
I found it hard to feel sorry for any of the characters because the story really doesn't get that intimate with any of them. Daphne (the main character) wasn't all that likable to me. Usual books, I can form an opinion of what each character looks like, what they act like, and who would play them in a movie. This book though, the characters remain faceless.
Good book. Stick with the first half and the second half will have you hooked.

She soon discovers things are not what they seem though, and that her employment is not by accident! Join Daphne, and her daughter Tali on their whirlwind through mystery, intrigue, suspense, lies, and more in “Love Trap”! I received a copy of this e-book in exchange for my honest review based on my personal opinions.
Reading this book really makes you feel for the main character Daphne. She puts herself through so much and gets caught up in one trap after the other. I thought it was very well written. Just when you think you have the mystery figured out, the story throws another curve at you and then another.
Daphene takes her young daughter to Jerusalem which is where this story takes place. There are a-lot of twist and turns in this story and a air of mystery and suspense through out. It is very easy to feel sympathy for Daphene through out the story. Over all this is a great book and I have really enjoyed reading it.
LOVE THIS BOOK! I just couldn't put it down. I read this is 3 days. There are twists, turns, and things that you think are going to happen, but suddenly don't. The relationships are perfect and I couldn't ask for more. I really wanted more for the ending, but I think it fit perfect with the story line.
I receive a copy of this book to review and I did not fall in love it right away. But I kept reading and I was pleasantly surprised by it. It wasn't headed where it felt like it was from the beginning and that was fantastic.
The book was good, a definite page turner that kept you interested in what will happen next. It was a somewhat surprise ending and goes to show the extent that people will go for love and their career.
I enjoyed this book. I like the foreign setting and intrigue the characters go through. I found myself got up in their world and emotions easily. Good book.
