Life With Fibromyalgia: Fight Back With Yoga And Diet

Rate this book
Fibromyalgia often referred to as an ‘invisible disease’, affects a person physically and mentally. Along with fatigue, sleep disturbances, and mood swings, patients with fibromyalgia deal with widespread muscular pain, which disrupts their daily activities. When I got to know that I was dealing with fibromyalgia, I was not very familiar with the condition. In fact, it took me a while to even realise that I was suffering from fibromyalgia. Intensified pain, muscle tenderness, fatigue and restlessness are some of the major symptoms of this illness. These symptoms are quite common and are seen in several other diseases like hypothyroidism, anaemia, rheumatoid arthritis, Lyme disease, multiple sclerosis, and even cancer. So, it gets very difficult to diagnose fibromyalgia at the very first go. This is the reason I called it tricky earlier. Usually, patients with fibromyalgia experience difficulties in walking, lifting and performing daily activities. Joint pain in the neck, shoulders, back, and hips are very prominent. Although fibromyalgia is not fatal, it's definitely something that will bother you throughout your life, if not treated at the right time. The pain experienced is unimaginable.

This is the first fully coherent book about FMS and its effects on the body that I have ever come across. Written by a top surgeon she has been able to put all of the debilitating symptoms into everyday English so that everyone can understand what is being said. In doing so Dr. Rajaneesh allowed me to make sense of the pain I live with on a daily basis and this has given me hope of one day being free of the shackles that FMS imposes on the body, and mind, of the person with this syndrome.

Rather than being a technical read that is difficult for a lay person to follow everything is laid out in easy to swallow bites that make absolute sense. There are also links provided to the questions of diet and exercise and the effects on the body with FMS and some of the ways things can be shaken up so that there are fewer flare days. All of this information I am now in the process of breaking down to see what works for me. I have already made some move forward to reducing a little of the worst of the flares and it is all down to the guidelines laid down by Dr. Rajaneesh.

I most sincerely recommend this book to everyone who wants to understand how this syndrome affects a person and to anyone who, like me, wants to beat it.

I own a softback of this book.

An excellent share on personal experience of Fibromyalgia. A world where videos and articles are crowding the internet, leaving us devoid of useful tips. The major takeaways being role of Yoga, Diet, CBT, Massage in curing her long standing Fibromyalgia Syndrome.

I appreciate author's precision on what has worked for her. In addition, she offers hope, which one can find in other lines of medicine, by remaining open and experimental.
