It was interesting, but I feel like the author focused a lot on MPH careers that also require an MD in addition to an MPH. I am interested in getting an MPH, but have no desire to get a doctorate. There was some really interesting advice about careers that I didn't know about. The book also provided helpful websites to learn more information about different careers, if you wanted to research certain careers in greater depth.
I'm MPH student I just read some intersting sections for me and skipped most of it. It is useful for someone who didn't decide which concentration or path they want. They provided useful websites too.
Got this for my birthday as I'm angling for a future career in public health. It's a decent reference text, and it's given me some good ideas for where I want to go next.
This was a great book for anyone wanting to explore their options in public health. It offers brief interviews and career profiles, and gives some important information about each career it explores, such as salary information, future job prospects, etc. It did not necessarily point out one specific career for my own interests, but gave me a general feel for what I think I would like to do. More importantly, almost, it offered specific information that helped me to rule out some options I had been considering. Definitely worth the read, if this is your area of interest!
