K.O. Romance #1

Worth a Shot

Rate this book
One simple run-in got me more than I bargained for...and now I can’t go back. It might be dangerous, but it might just be worth a shot.

Victoria Angel…

It was just a cup of coffee…that’s all I was after.
Some much-needed caffeine to get me through wedding dress shopping. That’s it. But I guess the universe had other plans. How do I go from getting coffee to waking up in the hospital after being involved in a drive-by?
And how does my mysterious hero go from taking a bullet for me to getting arrested and put in prison?
His last name is Goodman, but according to the police, he’s not at all a good man. However, it feels as though fate brought us together. The police don’t agree…and my fiancé definitely doesn’t either.

Tristan Goodman…

She thinks I’m her hero, which couldn’t be further from the truth. Because of the business that I’m in and the people I surround myself with, there’s always a target on my back, and anyone associated with me is in the line of fire, including the quirky yet gorgeous Victoria Angel.
I’ve brought nothing but danger to her life the minute she bumped into me in that coffee shop. I know she’s not mine, but that certainly doesn’t stop me from going after what I want. And what I want is an angel.
She’d be wise to end all contact with me, exactly like her fiancé wishes, but I can’t leave her alone…especially after I have a taste of heaven.

The book starts in a very cute way and it made me feel hopeful about it at first. I thought I was going to enjoy my time with a sweet book but it unfortunately fell short of my mediocre expectations.

Well, here is what is good about it.

There is good and fun banter between the hero and the heroine. Their interactions really made me smile. However, it also raised my expectations about a hot sex between a good girl and a bad boy. Their chemistry was good, their banter was fun and their attraction was strong, so I hoped that they would burn the sheets… But alas, when it finally happens towards the end of the book, it is so very disappointing.

I HATE IT when writers tell but not show! It is the worst of all.

Here are a few examples:

Our first night together was intense, passionate, and incredible.

Really? I had no idea because the writer didn’t show us.

***

I think about how wild she became as the night progressed. I finally saw every bit of her. No walls, no shyness.

Really? Was she wild? Again, I had no idea.
Why?
Because, once again, the writer didn’t show us.

I hate summarized version of hot scenes; they are the worst. Writers should either not build up a sexual tension between the characters or if they do, they should satisfy the readers with a good enough scene between them. Don’t give me the York Notes version, please, I need the original scene. This is cheating - yeap cheating - first creating expectations of a mind-blowing sex between them and then, not giving it to us - that is definitely cheating in my book!!!!!

*********************************************

And there is another problem about this book. I hope it is edited soon because there are TOO MANY GRAMMAR MISTAKES. Really… the book needs serious EDITING. It is so very DISTRACTING.

And here are some examples:

Pain radiates across my back as an intense pressure knocks the . E as my surroundings fade, and the only things that seems to be in focus are the pavement, mulch, and plants that are quickly approaching my face.

***

She’s exudes crystal clean, perfect citizen while I’m packed in with the deemed low-lifes of society.

***

Have coffee dates criminals?

***

Would she moan for me as much for me as she does for the coffee?

***

I’ve also been known to cooked, from time to time.

***

She’s the one who should embarrassed.

***

I decide to have some fun with this psycho even though she could can probably kick my ass in a heartbeat.

***

I want to her kiss again.

***

I can you some of my moves.

***

Her breathing has picks up as she looks me up and down.

***

I just need to know they safe.

***

It’s a copy of the a Mark sent her.

***

Unlike you’re relationship with Deacon.

Yeah, I think you now have an idea how seriously the book needs to be edited.

*********************************************

So, long story short, this is a sweet book that doesn’t live up to the expectations it raises and it smells amateur work.

Still, I believe the writer has talent and she can improve herself and write better books in the future if she takes the criticisms about her first work into consideration.

This book is worth a shot guys.
It was a contemporary romance with little action thrown in.
I loved it.
Yes, there were thing which were kinda wrong like the h was engaged when she met the H.

There road to HEA was filled with lots of action and drama.
Also I loved the h. She was cool. Her coffee addiction was ott but she was spunky. I loved how she talked dirty with the H 😉.

I really enjoyed this one. And if you are in a mood for light contemporary romance then go for this. Also this is a debut novel by this author and she has done an amazing job. After reading lots of nonsense books these days I’m so happy that I came across this book.

This was a great beach read for me. I enjoyed the build-up between the heroine and the hero. And there was just enough drama and angst to keep me turning the pages.

Originally had this at 3 stars, bumped it down to 2.5 because it’s only a day or so later and I’m a bit more unbiased with distance from the happy ending.

The first 1/3 of this book made me laugh—out loud! From the first page, I immediately resonated with Gail Haris' unique brand of humor mixed with ridiculous-yet-believable scenarios. I was hooked immediately.

Where this debut lost me was its plot and believability for the second half of the romance. While it started out strong, Worth a Shot lost momentum at a steady pace as soon as we got over the initial setup phase.

It was awkwardly situated between darker drama (an almost Mafia-level "we're the competition, and we're going to take you out" vibe) and the strangely overdramatized yet incredibly simple pairing between the two main love interests.

The love story was remarkably PG/PG13 and felt like it was both characters' first real experience with love, and yet this story was also somehow about a playboy street fighter in a turf war over his vicious illegal cage fighting operation? The duality rubbed me the wrong way the further we committed to both of those polar opposites.

Overall, the actual story was more of a 2 star read but the humor alone brought it up to a 3. I am interested in checking out this author's more recent works, especially because I know I'm a sucker for stories where the humor matches mine.

Book received from the author. Voluntarily reviewing and all opinions are objective and my own.

Despite Gail Haris being a favourite author, I never went back to read her debut. Since she’s rereleased it with new content, I’m actually pretty happy I didn’t already because there’s something to be said with experiencing perfection the first time around.

This book was so addicting and I couldn’t put it down all day! When I finally did, I continued to find reasons to pick it up again. The relationship between Tristan and Tori is so funny, but cute at the same time. I loved them both, but especially Tristan. Being in his head is fantastic--I loved his train of thoughts.
I did want more sexy times though! But all in all, it’s a great book and I’m pleased to know her other characters are getting stories. Vic’s is next, but I really want Mark’s.

⭐⭐⭐⭐🌟

‘“Tori. If we ever meet again, all my friends call me Tori.”

He smiles, but it doesn’t reach his eyes. “Are we friends, Tori?”

“Tristan, you saved my life.” I place my hand over my heart. “We shared some damn good coffee and survived a drive-by together. Let’s face it, we’re best friends!”’

I absolutely adore discovering new-to-me authors, so when their debut novel is written with an abundance of wit, humour, fun and flirty dialogue, interspersed with an addictive, quick-paced storyline, it makes discovering those authors a much more captivating experience.

Our heroine and hero could not be further apart in terms of personality, temperament and occupation but after their initial meet cute at the coffee shop, we’re treated to a blossoming romance, chock-full of comedy, intrigue, danger and flirtation. It’s the witty to and fro banter between Tori and Tristan that really made this book so enjoyable. Although the characters aren’t overly complex, they still shine and shimmer off the page, bringing to life a book that is meant to be a sparkling mix of suspense, sexual tension, shady dealings and romance. And it delivers.

My only qualm regarding Worth a Shot, was those sex scenes, or rather lack thereof. Because we are teased and titillated for over half of the book, I really expected the sex scenes to be a little more detailed, more graphic and raunchy. We’re given some incredibly hot and heavy foreplay in the lead up but absolutely nothing when it came to both of our protagonists finally getting together. It was more or less a fade to black scenario, which didn’t play out well, in relation to previous scenes. I felt slightly cheated.

Overall it was a great read. It was light, fun, quirky and romantic. Definitely a nice change of pace from over-hyped angst and melodrama.

Buy. This. Book. Now.

Oh. Ma. Gawd. This book. Where do I start?! These characters are going to stay with me for a LONG time. This book will stay with me for a long time. Definitely a top book of the year for me, and it’s only January.

Tori had me drawn into her from halfway through the first chapter. I couldn’t put the book down. But I wanted to savor this book at the same time. Tori is such a strong character. With all that she deals with throughout the entire book, she comes out stronger than ever and knows how to kick butt! When Tristan enters her life, he enters it with a bang! Pun intended! These characters just... jived. They worked. They were humorous. I felt their pain. I laughed with them.

This is Gail’s debut novel, and I’ll be telling all of my book friends that they need to read this book... therefore you should too! Go pick up this exciting, thrilling, hilarious romance novel, right now!

Edited to add: With my second read through, I’ve fell in love with Tori & Tristan so much more. I love how this book gives you twists and keeps you on the edge of your seat. I needed something that’s not predictable. And that’s this book!

For a debut novel, there sure were lots of good ideas–along with common mistakes and a handful of clichés.

My favorite part was the very beginning–the meeting between Tori and Tristan. It was fun, cute, with an unexpected ending. I thought it would set the tone of the story, but it became much more serious and darker afterwards. Only the events though–the characters worried a lot about their situation, but did little to get out of it.

Actually there were some inconsistencies with the characters’ attitude. How can Victoria be described as shy and insecure after such an introduction? It felt more like the characters changed so they’d follow the script, not like the story was written around the characters. Too bad, because I really liked both sides of Tristan–the bad boy and the devoted lover. Tory could have been an interesting quicky character too.

The suspens/crime elements of the story were quite well plotted. It made sense and the actual villains of the book were interesting characters. The whole thing just didn’t sit well with the romance part. It was like following two different stories at the same time.

Far from perfect, it’s still a good introduction to a series that’s very promising. I definitely want more of Tristan–and Mark.

Quickie

- Series: KO romance #1 (can be read as a standalone)
- Hashtags: #bad boy romance #opposites attract #fighter
- Triggers: some violence and death, in and out of the cage
- Main couple: Victoria Angel & Tristan Goodman
- Hotness: 3/5
- Romance: 3/5
- + the first meeting was amazing
- – lack of consistency with the characters

Gail Haris is a new to me / debut author so when I decided to read “worth a shot” it was kind of having a double meaning … I thought the plot was worth a shot and as it turned out ... I was right.

When it seems like it’s a debut I am reading I always pay especially close attention to details. And in total I was pleasantly surprised. But let’s dive into the critical details …

The cover ….I am not a fan of the type of cover used here and - if at all - it only works for a certain kind of books. Had it been me in a bookstore I am pretty sure I wouldn’t have taken the book from the shelf to read the plot. I have to admit – I would have missed out on something good – but the thing is – cover sell books – at least in physical stores so there is that.

The plot … well that brings me back to my issue with the cover – in my reading world it’s the romantic comedy books where people don’t take themselves too seriously where this cover is used (still not a fan of the style). But the Blurb promises a plot that does not sound like a comedy and I think when I first came across the book there was no cover – otherwise I would remember frowning at the different vibes the blurb and the cover give.

Romantic comedy I can only digest when presented in a certain style – so when I started reading the book. The plot felt like a romantic comedy but then as the story went on the tone became more serious while still the banter went on with the characters. And at a certain point I felt that the characters banter and the plot got separated.

I am not sure how to explain that without giving the story away. It could be a very personal style of the author and if so it would definitely be a unique one I think. Still, I am not totally convinced I love it. The chemistry between the leads was beautiful I could have gone on for hours just reading their dialogues and at certain points, I was almost willing to mention “if you like the style of the writing duo Penelope Ward and Vi Keeland than you will like the writing of Gail Haris too”

… but then I felt that the plot didn’t run with the characters. When it was just the leads talking to each other everything was perfect but the second the backstory came into view I felt that a very serious topic was taken not as serious as it needed to be. Or it was presented to strong for a comedy? Or maybe it was ambitious to try to fit this kind of story into a comedy at all? Not sure and I really cannot explain without details all that well.

The writing … as mentioned before – I love love love the banter between the leads – it is perfect… the opening – how they get to know each other and all – simply perfect and if you love Ward/Keeland this will be your style too. Dialog wise this author is a winner.

The book I read was not the final copy I assume because it still had some typos in it – I am not taking them into consideration as I usually do not correct grammar (not my strong suit because I am bilingual and mix languages a lot) and they did not really disturb the reading. But there were enough for me to notice and I only mention them in case it was the final version and they were overlooked.

My thoughts….. I was blown away by some of the dialogues and loved the banter – but the plot itself did not runs smoothly with the tone that was set by the charters. – The character development – banter and setup are a 5 Star cast in my book but the plot had me shaking my head especially towards the end and only made it to 3 Stars. I know it sounds critical and maybe it is but it is meant in a good way because this writing style really has potential just for my taste it needs to be better balanced with the plot but because it is so special

Great debut with room for improvement

I bought this beauty on chance of loving it just as much as I loved Gail’s other book. I figured “Hey, it’s worth a shot!” 😂
Now I wonder why I waited so long to pick it up.

This was just...WOW! An intense and extremely gripping adventure from the first Chapter. I was sucked in and on the edge of my seat for pretty much the whole time.
Victoria “Tori” is engaged when she accidentally runs into bad boy Tristan. After Tori flips his morning upside down, he is intrigued. There is clearly a strong fate-like attraction between them. Next thing you know they are victims of a drive by shooting.

After they keep contact, that’s when things progress. The increase danger with Tori being associated with Tristan, suspense and a slow burn in their relationship makes this a very compulsive read.

Tristan is completely swoon-worthy *sigh* with his large build, bad-ass/smart-ass attitude, he also has sweet and funny charm to him.
The constant banter, nicknames, and innuendos keep me constantly laughing out loud.

This Rom-Com has a little bit of a darker side with the underground cage fighting so you do see some violence (almost mafia/gang war). It has the right amount of suspense and even a little mystery. Honestly it was just perfect in my opinion with the best ending I have ever read!
I highly recommend this read, if you have been putting it off? Don’t! Pick it up and start now, you will NOT be disappointed!

Edit: Love this book so much that I was so ready for a re-read. This one has added scenes. New and improved!
I love it even more the second time around. Constantly catching myself smiling and I didn’t want to set it down. Oh how I missed Tristan and Tori!

Ummmmm....is this seriously Gail’s debut novel?? She blew me away with how quickly she drew me into the story! I gulped all the coffee (Tori would approve!) and stayed in bed until I got to see how this book ended!
I love the humor that was between Tristan & Tori! They were so light hearted! And I liked that even though there were some serious things standing in the way of their HEA, they were able to come out on top!!
I can’t wait to see what Gail creates next!

PS- I’m gonna need Mark & Britney to get a book!!

An Angel and the Devil himself

Tori has been engaged for a year, but really can’t see herself marrying Deacon. But she’s fine helping with her sisters wedding. While dress shopping with her sister, Tori literally walks into Tristan. And her life will never be the same again. Tristan is nothing but trouble, and knows after what happened on the first meeting that he should stay away from Tori, she is to pure for his world. Only he can’t do that, will he cause an angel to fall tainted to the earth?

Worth a Shot by Gail Haris is part fun/hot romance between a tough cage fighter/restaurant owner and sweet substitute teacher and part underground crime drama. One part was terrific, the other not so much.

Let's start with the good. The romance and banter between the main characters were fun and hot. The banter was great, and the chemistry off the charts. I loved that the author gave the romance time to develop by having the book take place over a few months with weeks where they didn't contact each other. Instead of cooling things down, it underscored that they both tried to fight the attraction but couldn't.

The main problem I had reading this came from the underworld crime drama portion of the plot. The book didn't need it, and it unnecessarily complicated a great story. If I were beta reading this, my advice would be to keep the trouble with the cop and delete the crime bosses. And add more sexy times. Because what there was of those were fantastic.

So I'm glad I took a chance on this one. I'll be checking out the next book in the series for sure.

Worth a Shot
Written by: Gail Haris

Victoria (Tori) Angel was a coffee addict. So much so when taking her sister and a friend wedding dress shopping she chose coffee over a line up. Finally having her precious coffee in her hands she promptly walked into a wall of muscle. Of course she was apologetic and insisted in purchasing said wall another coffee. Tori however has a problem, she thinks she knows what’s right for people, she ordered him the same coffee she had been drinking not his plain black coffee.

Plain black coffee is how Tristan Goodman had always drank coffee, until the day Tori Goodman ordered his replacement coffee to her taste. She was pretty, they were both walking in the same direction and so it was natural they walked together. Tori joined the wedding dress line, Tristan walked to his place of business and changed his shirt and that should have been that. It wasn’t though, he spotted Tori sitting on a bench outside the shop finishing her coffee and he joined her. Then wheels were screeching, people were yelling and running and Tristan was pushing Tori out of the way and then she heard the sounds of shots being fired.

These two are the least likely to become a couple, but with all the antics that happen you know that they will more than likely end up together.

There would be fibs told by Tori and by Tristan. A lot of funny one liners, an engagement will be broken, truths told by Tristan and lots of giggles and laughs.

I found this book engaging and although it had a few slow parts all an all I enjoyed it. As a romantic comedy it did it’s job and made me laugh, sometimes shake my head at some of the antics but enjoyable.

This review is for the recently released updated version.

Slow burn, romantic comedy that engages you on page one. Gail Haris has winner with this updated story. Tori, the good girl. Tristan, the bad boy. Tori is full of surprises at every turn, with witty and flirtatious banter. Tristan, used to one night stands and casual relationships, struggles to keep up, not knowing where their relationship is going, or even if there is a relationship.

This humor filled, slightly suspenseful plot will keep you reading.

Happy Book Birthday!
Thank you Gail Harris and Get Me Books for an ARC of Worth A Shot, in exchange for my honest review. And the biggest thanks for letting me be apart of your release blitz!
After waking up way too early to go wedding dress shopping, Victoria Angel just wanted a cup of coffee. She didn’t mean to bump into one of the hottest guys she’s seen, spilling his coffee all over him. She really didn’t think she’d end up in the hospital, after being shot at. Finding out she was saved by Tristan Goodman, a wanted man and now her hero. She’s dying to know more about him and what makes Tristan so bad.
Tristan Goodman was just trying to grab a quick coffee when ome of the prettiest girls he’s ever seen runs into him. She not only spills his coffee but insists he’s been drinking it wrong this whole time. After talking to Victoria Angel he never expected to take a bullet for this sweet girl. Tristan is curious to know more about her. But could Tori be too sweet for bad boy Tristan?
I’ve never been really big on romance. Honestly, I always pictured it to be lovey-dovey with over the top erotica. Worth A Shot changed my mind about romance and I’m glad I gave the genre another try. This book had a good balance. It was most certainly hot and steamy ☕☕☕
I was hooked from the moment I read “coffee”. I have a serious coffee obsession and so does Tori. I get that girl on so many levels. Especially her attraction to Tristan, with the muscles, and all around bad boy physique, lets say he’s a knockout if you will 😉 Oh my, his passion for Victoria is undeniable, the chemistry between the two is great and I just love it.
It’s been a while since I’ve chosen a book boyfriend, but I’ve got to say Tristan Goodman is my most recent 😍🤤😍 Gail Harris did an awesome job with these characters and their story. I really enjoyed reading it.
Make sure you pick up your copy today! It could be Worth A Shot

Worth a Shot was a very enjoyable debut story by the talented Gail Haris. Were there some issues?! A few but I really believe they fix themselves as Ms. Haris goes along in her writing career, because you can fix simple issues but you can't grow the talent she has out of the blue. Believe me, I know because I don't have that creative talent. Anyway, I'm going down a rabbit hole that I don't want to get stuck in so let me get on with it. Victoria Angel just wanted some coffee to get her through wedding dress shopping, and that cup of goodness actually threw her life into chaos. Some of it was super hilarious, but then it took a darker turn, as the dude she met & interacted with at the coffee shop, Tristan Goodman. Next thing she knows is that she was caught up in something out of her control when she woke up in the hospital, and her hero, Goodman, was being blamed for it. She doesn't believe the police or her fiance, while Goodman is sure that all he's good for is to bring all kinds of danger into her life. So, there's chemistry, laughter, and f-bomb worthy twists which made me happy. I guess I just wished that the serious meshed perfectly with the comedic factor as the interactions really did have me laughing. Other than that, I'm ready for more from this new author! HIGHLY RECOMMEND!

Worth a Shot by Gail Haris is the story of Tristan Goodman and Victoria 'Tori' Angel.
Victoria has to take her sister Jane along with Jane's friend to a bridal sale early in the morning. While they are shopping she needs her cup of coffee. This is where she runs literally into Tristan.
They have some fun banter back and forth..which I really enjoyed but then the danger starts. Because later they end up being in a attack/shootout. From there is when the adventure starts.
I not personally in love with the cover but please don't let that stop you from hesitating getting this book. The story line is really good.

Fabulous read by this debut author! I was hooked right away and sucked into this world until the end. There's a little something in this story for everyone - humor, suspense, and some heat (like a steaming cup of coffee ;)). Tori and Tristan have amazing chemistry, and you can't help but root for them. Pick this one up!

I picked up this book on a recommendation from two book buddies, and after reading the synopsis I thought, it’s worth a shot! They know I love a romcom, and that I like a good laugh so I dove right in.

The first quarter of the book is fun, flirty and what I was absolutely looking for, but then it turns sideways and goes down a road that can be hard to come back from. Let’s talk a bit about the plot. Victoria is out with her sister bridal shopping. She sneaks off to buy herself a much needed cup of coffee and literally bumps into our hero Tristan and let the fun banter begin! Tristan then becomes a true life hero by saving Tori and taking a bullet from a drive by shooting that they were involved in. So now Tori is in hospital wondering who is this man that would save her life and questions her own relationship with her fiancé. Now Tristan and Tori have a connection that neither wants to sever, but the more Tori learns about Tristan, she’s not sure if he is a good man. From here, things get a little crazy.

As this is a debut novel, we can forgive some typos, and even some inconsistencies which there are a few. Yes they are annoying and they stop your flow of reading but give a new author a break. I’m sure once this she is more established she will hire an editor, or the very least get help with beta readers / proofreaders. Now saying that, I did have other issues. It is hard to create a bad boy character and still make him lovable, and for me Tristan pushed those boundaries and even stretched them to a point he might not return from. A storyline has to be believable and sometimes I felt it was too farfetched. Also the plot time frames - between two locations and at the end of the story, having an hours drive between them, caused for out of character situations. There is no way a guy like Tristan would not already be on his way to Tori when he knew she was in danger. He wouldn’t wait till hours later to get a call and then come. I also think Tori did some things out of character that seem to be added for extra drama, which I’m not a fan of. This book could have been a great fun romcom with two characters discovering their self worths and fall for each other. We get more than that, but I’m not sure it worked. I do think this author is one to watch and see what else she writes.

I loved this book by Gail; I loved Tristan & Tori, I really enjoyed this book, and it definitely made me laugh out loud a couple of times.

It was such a good book; I completely love the characters, the banter, the suspense, the action, everything; it kept me hooked the entire time.

Tori was such an enjoyable character. I couldn't get enough of her quirky personality; she was definitely the one that made me laugh the most. Tori has an extreme but funny coffee addiction (an addiction I can relate to 😂), and that same addiction leads her to meet Tristan unexpectedly one day, but meeting Tristan put Tori in situations she never expected.

Tristan is the complete opposite of innocent Tori; he means trouble. Tristan was grabbing his coffee of the day when he stumbled upon Tori, she surprised him with the way she handled the situation, and it definitely awakes his curiosity; things get complicated slowly due to all of his illegal activities, and he knows staying away from Tori will be the best, especially to keep her safe; however, the attraction they feel for each other is undeniable.

I loved how Tori & Tristan have a strong connection and chemistry, they are so different from each other, but they are still perfect for each other; their banter and their back and forth kept me entertained the entire time, and the moments they shared were just perfect.

I highly recommend this book, and I can't wait to read the next book in the series.

Victoria is engaged to be married and is out shopping for the perfect dress when her desire for a cup of coffee brings Tristan into her life. What started out as a fun and flirty exchange takes a turn when they become the recipients of a drive by shooting and Tristan becomes her unlikely rescuer.

Tristan is a man who lives in the grey area of life and isn’t anyone’s savior. It may have been chance or it may have been fate that brought her into his life at a difficult moment but they now find themselves on an adventure that he doesn’t want to end.

Tristan is story and sexy which is a perfect match for Victoria’s feisty and fiery personality. Humor, heat and intrigue as two people are brought together under the most unlikely of circumstances.

I absolutely loved Tristan and Tori’s story. I swooned so hard for Tristan from the beginning. Charming, and handsome with a side of dangerous. Tori was such a great heroine. I couldn’t get enough of her quirky personality. Their back and forth witty banter had me often laughing out loud. This book had action up until the very end. Their connection was strong and those intimate moments had me fanning myself. I’m so happy it’s a series! I can’t wait to read Vin’s story!

This story is really action packed, dynamic and so fun to read!
Another fun story that I finished in one day. This story took my attention from the beginning of the first chapter till the end. I loved the characters and the events that took place. The blending of humor ,drama, romance, and action was awesome. Gail managed to add all these in every two pages and I admired that about her. Furthermore, the relationship between Victoria and Tristan is so slow but at the same time so fast like you'd enjoy every detail of their relationship and every emotion but you won't get bored. I have to mention that the chemistry between the two is astounding. Victoria is such a badass that fits perfectly for our Goodman. Who turns out to be not as good as his last name. And I have to say that I also loved the minor characters especially Mark and would really be happy to read his story with Britney .Moreover, I adored the fact that Tristan chose to change his lifestyle (secret) for Tori although she never asked him to. She just decided to be his angel in her own way to her forever hero. Finally this story was totally worth a shot and would recommend it to everyone who loves slow burn, chasing, action and romantic stories!

A great debut from a new author! This book was a quick read. I loved the interactions between Tristan and Tori - a good mix of heat and humor. There's elements of suspense as well - just enough to keep it interesting. Yes, there were some typos and editing errors in the version I read but it was still a good story! I'll be following this author to see what comes next.
