Beginnings This is a romantic story about two college students who met and fell in love at Unity Farm, an intentional interracial community in South West Georgia founded by a famous preacher who was popular on college campuses in the mid-1950s. It was a period of dramatic change in American history. The Civil Rights Movement was just getting under way, Women’s Lib and sexual mores were changing, Scientific advancements were changing perspectives about lots of things including religion; and college students were having to make major life choices amid all these changes. These two students were struggling with choosing a mate, a life vocation, and where to live. It is an inspirational love story about who to love, a job to love, and a neighbor to love, and what to believe in a time of change for anyone in any age. —Rev. Dr. Robert M.
