Pull up a chair, pour some eggnog, and enjoy the Christmas spirit with friends...
From the wind-swept, snowy ranges of Wyoming to Florida beaches glowing with Christmas lights, All American Christmas traces holiday traditions across the United States. In this beautiful personal keepsake, Rachel Campos-Duffy and Sean Duffy present a dazzling collection of emotional stories, treasured family photographs, and homegrown Christmas recipes from some of Fox News' most beloved personalities.
Dana Perino takes readers out west to the cattle ranch where she celebrated Christmas with real life "Marlboro Men"--her uncles and grandfather. Maria Bartiromo reflects on growing up in Brooklyn and the famously brilliant light displays in her neighborhood.
Brit Hume looks back at the day he and a friend rushed onto the Washington Senators' field--and how his parents later warned him that he was now on Santa Claus' naughty list. For Lauren Green, her understanding of Christmas has evolved with her growing faith.
Beautifully designed to reflect the color and spirit and sparkle of the season and featuring 16 pages of color photographs, All American Christmas is a gift of love from the Fox News family and is sure to be cherished for seasons to come.
This book is a compilation of Christmas memories by 23 people who work for or are affiliated with the Fox News Channel and how they and their families are carrying on family traditions. As such, it is full of nostalgia and heart-warming memories. It makes for great reading during the Christmas season, and I highly recommend it. Note that there is no discussion of anything political in it. The contents are split up under four sections: 1. The Joy of Giving. 2. The Joy of Receiving. 3. The Joy of Faith. 4. The Joy of Family.
As a fan of Fox news I loved reading the individuals comments comments regarding how the spent Christmas as youngsters and today. It was a wonderful read.😄
I received this book from my Aunt who lives in Endicott, NY. My husband and I watch FOX news, so I was familiar with all of the contributors of the book.
I was looking for a well written, interesting, funny enjoyable book about Christmas. Honestly, the book, in some instances, was poorly written, not that interesting and only semi enjoyable. To think people will buy this book because of the people who put it together and not what is actually in it, is interesting to me. This book has been a top the best seller list for Non-Fiction a few weeks, so I thought is had substance. But actually, it was disappointing.
Obviously, everyone wrote their own piece. I was surprised at some of the grammar, or lack of. These folks are journalists! Geraldo’s use of the word “gotten” was cringy to me.
The reason I gave this a 3 and not a 2 or a 1 was because there are some interesting stories in here. I enjoyed the Doocy’s annual race down their stairs every Christmas. Charles Payne’s life is very interesting and I actually read about the athlete whose family donated her heart to his wife. Bret Baier is humble describing the health issues of one of his sons. And I did enjoy the conversation between Rachel and Sean.
I am very thankful my Aunt thought of me and generously gave me this book. I may actually try some of the recipes.
Loved every bit of this. Every family has unique traditions and stories. What a great idea to create a book that documents and highlights people's Christmas experience. It is a great reminder about what the holidays are all about. It was fun to read about it through the lens of different people. A few of the most common themes everyone brought up: nuclear family, breaking bread, decorating, and the magic it brings when you are a child. The season has a way of creating an impression from such a young age. It is carried on into adulthood and I love that. My son had showed interest in wanting to read this book when I started talking about it and looking through it at Barnes and Noble. I ended up purchasing it on my Kindle, but I think I will give him a copy of it ahead of next season!! He loves the season and I think will appreciate learning the details and uniqueness of others experience as well.
I really enjoyed reading about the Christmases past and present of the many Fox Network contributors. Having each chapter written by each was encouraging. In the middle of so much television negativity I applaud the genuine stories recorded in the book. I feel that I could relate to many much better. They were all good but my favorites were Lauren Green, Maria Bartiromo, Emily Compagno and Lawrence Jackson… Merry Christmas
So glad I was able to get this as an E-book. Very good book, I felt like I was reading about my friends. Love all at Fox starting my day with Fox and friends. I did miss not reading something from Pete H.
Since I don’t watch Fox News, I’m not familiar with most of these personalities. But I was intrigued after reading a review. For the most part, I’m glad I picked up this book. Though I found Lauren Green’s piece on faith too preachy, I enjoyed reading many of the other stories. Being a Michael Jackson fan as a teenager, I could identify with Jesse Waters’ wish for a Michael Jackson leather jacket. John Roberts’ memories of playing music with his kids reminded me of the time I, as a teenager, my younger brother, and my father formed our own little family band. I was surprised to learn that Dana Perino hailed from Wyoming, my home state, and I enjoyed her memories of growing up on the ranch. I loved the narration by each author, but the introduction to each piece by one of the editors was unnecessary. Each story could have spoken for itself. That having been said, references to Christmas songs and recipes add a nice touch. The stories in this book brought back many pleasant family Christmas memories for me, and I hope they will for you, too.
If you want the good feels of Christmas, w/o any politics, this compilation of heartfelt family memories could do the trick. The stories are written by well-known Fox News hosts, so it feels as if they're letting you into their homes at Christmas. I enjoyed hearing tidbits about what they felt as kids, what their parents did to make Christmas special & what traditions they've kept/created for their own children. It was a quick read...& I had a smile on my face from cover to cover. Great recipes, too!
I checked out this audiobook from the library without recognizing the authors/contributors' names. Apparently, they're all people associated with Fox News. And while I'm not a rabid Fox News hater and would have happily enjoyed sweet, well-written Christmas stories no matter where they came from, the ones I did read all had vaguely aggressive political undertones that felt distinctly not-Christmassy, even if they were political opinions I agreed with. So it was one that was very quickly abandoned.
It was a beautiful reflection of the Christmas spirit and a fun way to know the Fox families memories of their beloved Christmases with their own families. It was a heartfelt warm read I would recommend end to anyone who loves the Christmas season.
A wonderful read of family, faith, and celebrating Christmas, as told be some of my favorite tv news personalities. I particularly appreciated reading about the how and why of their family traditions, including special recipes. I was looking forward to reading this book and it did not disappoint. 📚
A very nice book and fun to read about the different people and what they do at Christmas time as well as their background. These are different people that work at Fox News Channel that we watch or have seen quite often. Makes you realize how special Christmas is - the real Christmas I mean.
Kindle Immersion Read A sentimental arrangement of beautiful memories from the FOX News family. A reminder to readers of the importance of committing to paper and capturing photographs of our own Christmas traditions for future generations. Great idea. Thanks for sharing.
I received this book as a Christmas gift from my husband. I really enjoyed it. I love hearing about other families traditions and memories. I am sure this book will become a tradition for me as I read it each holiday season.
This is the true story … of seven strangers … picked to live in a house … work together … and have their lives taped … to find out what happens … when people stop being polite … and start getting real: The Real World.”
The book was very warm and fuzzy with no mention of politics. It was all individual stories of them growing up and how Christmas was celebrated including how they keep their traditions alive. It was a wonderful book to read during the Christmas Season. I do recommend the book.
My husband and I are big fans of Fox News; so I enjoyed the memories that these personalities shared. It was interesting to learn a little more of the background of various people that we see often on our TV.
FOX anchors and reporters share their memories and traditions of Christmas. Most are very bland, but a few stand out as heartfelt and touching, especially Brett Baier and Brian Kilmeade.
