He's hot for teacher… but the naughtiest Hot Brit is about to get schooled.
I never meant to become the center of a scandal. But one disgruntled client started a rumor that I offer "special" massages at my spa. Now I need to get out of town for a while, so I go back to school to finish my long-overdue university degree—in America. My beautiful faculty advisor seems like the perfect distraction from my problems, but I really shouldn't flirt with her. Or try to kiss her. Or offer her a "special" massage…
Maybe I can't help myself, but the sexy American isn't having any of it. My British accent doesn't impress her, and neither does my age. A forty-year-old undergraduate? Not enticing, apparently. But I have skills she's never seen. If she'll let me show her, this could turn into the best distraction in history.
Get ready for a hands-on romance with heart, humor, and loads of steam! One Hot Rumor is the fifth book in the Hot Brits series of romantic comedies from Anna Durand, author of the bestselling Hot Scots series.
Anna Durand is a bestselling, multi-award-winning author of contemporary and paranormal romance. Her books have earned bestseller status on every major retailer and wonderful reviews from readers around the world. But that’s the boring spiel. Here are some really cool things you want to know about Anna!
Born on Lackland Air Force Base in Texas, Anna grew up moving here, there, and everywhere thanks to her dad’s job as an instructor pilot. She’s lived in Texas (twice), Mississippi, California (twice), Michigan (twice), and Alaska—and now Ohio.
As for her writing, Anna has always invented stories in her head, but she didn’t write them down until her teen years. Those first awful books went into the trash can a few years later, though she learned a lot from those stories. Eventually, she would pen her first romance novel, the paranormal romance Willpower, and she’s never looked back since.

(audiobook) Don’t expect any surprise, this book follows the same recipe as other books by the same author: a lot of fun sexy times, not too much drama–just enough to have some tension–and some humor. This recipe works, and though not original, this story is definitely palatable.
Okay, fine, there was ONE surprise. It’s a forbidden teacher/student romance, but… the characters are roughly the same age! I really liked having main characters in their forties for once. It’s so much more relatable for me. I’d have loved to see them outside of their relationship though, see their interactions with other characters–family, friends… There isn’t much of that. Just a little bit. And they talk about it. But the book focuses on the romance.
This little bit was still enjoyable, because those interactions were mostly with people seen in previous books, characters we already know. Too much of them actually, and I find myself confused at times. But still, it was a nice touch.
The narrators come back for those two new characters, and do a good job, as usual. A nice addition to the series.

He is hot for teacher....and they will become a burning fire together!!!
One Hot Rumor is the fifth book in the Hot Brits series and is the story of Nick and Siobhan . I will say that Nick is one very hot Brit who has an accent and attitude that will melt your panties right off. When he leaves Britain and goes to the States he goes back to school to finish his degree. There he meets Siobhan when she is assigned as his academic advisor. Siobhan is forty-two years old but she is one hot professor, and Nick is very hot for his teacher. It may be against the rules but these two could not stay away from each other even if they wanted to....which they do not. If you have read a book by Anna Durand then you know your Kindle will be on fire quickly. This is a super smexy story but it also has moments of laugh out loud fun, romance, a bit of drama and a lot of super sizzling chemistry. A very fun read.
I received a copy of this book and am leaving my honest review. My opinions are all my own.
This is a steamy older woman/professor and younger man/student romance. The author brings Siobhan and Nick together in this sexy taboo read. She moves the story quickly and smoothly adding in humor and painting her scenes perfectly and delivers a sweet ,entertaining read.
I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book. All opinions in this review are my own and freely given.
A little bit naughty. A whole lot nice. One Hot Rumor is fiery short story with a long range personality. Durand tempts the senses with humor, heart and delight.
One Hot Rumor is the fifth book in the “Hot Brits” series by Anna Durand, which is the spinoff from the “Hot Scots” series. They are all interconnected stand-alone stories. This book is definitely a great addition to the series, and leaves you smiling.
Nick Hunter owns a successful day spa in England that he started a decade ago. After he turns down a pass she made at him, a disgruntled female client at the spa spreads a particularly nasty rumor about him providing ‘happy endings’ in the guise of “special” massages. His good reputation in tatters, Nick decides to go to the United States for the summer to finish his college degree and give time for the rumors to settle down. Dr. Siobhan Griffin is a professor of mathematics at Vallefrio University and is assigned to be Nick's academic advisor. She’s intensely attracted to Nick from the first moment she meets him in in her office. Siobhan is the mother of an incoming freshman to the school, a daughter she’s raised entirely on her own. Against her own better judgment she eventually agrees to date Nick, even though even though they have to keep it secret because it’s a violation of the no fraternization policy for professors and students of the college.
Nick is 40 and Siobhan is 42, but the heat sizzles between them as if they were half that age. As the story progresses, it becomes apparent that he is much more than the shallow guy she presumed him to be, and she is much more than the boring mathematician she presents herself to be. They’re both excellent characters, and their relationship is a perfect balance of sweet, serious and fun. I liked it very much, although I thought it all came to a conclusion a little too quickly once the final chapter began. If you’re familiar with this series, it’s great to see a lot of characters from other books appear in this one. We also get to meet Bennett, Nick’s business partner, and learn enough about him to know that he’s going to be the intriguing focus of the next book. I’m looking forward to Bennett’s story already!
Lightly naughty but very nice I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review. I also purchased a copy.
I really enjoyed this fast-paced charming, sexy, fun story about a middle-aged student having the hots for his teacher and vice versa.
Rumors can be damaging, which Nick Hunter only knows too well after being the centre of attention of one. He is running his own Spa, so after a client spreads a nasty rumor and knocks down his confidence, he escapes to the US to finish his business degree. Here he meets Siobhan Griffin, a professor who is also his academic advisor. There is an insta-attraction and Nick flirts shamelessly with his hot professor, whereas Siobhan still fights her insta-feelings due to the ethics she is bound to but soon cannot resist Nick´s British charms and gives into lust.
Nick and Siobhan both have certain doubts about themselves. Siobhan has been let down too many times and Nick does not feel accomplished in comparison to his parents and twin brother. Will Nick and Siobhan beat the odds of this forbidden love story?
Shane East and Vanessa Edwin are another power audio pairing I adore. These two certainly know how to set the mood, draw you in and let you get lost in a story. I am always entertained listening to them both.
Shane just is the perfect Nick, voicing this cheeky, cocky sexy Brit with his devilish charm so well and makes you chuckle and swoon at the right moments.
I am always drawn to Vanessa´s male voice, especially with that English accent, and just the whole tone of her voice just makes my heart melt.
I loved all the English phrases & sayings, made me think of my time living in the UK and fun fact, Colchester is mentioned in this story and I did not live far from there.
At the ending of One Hot Rumour, Anna Durand sets us up for another Hot Brit story and I cannot wait for what she has in store for us next.
After reading Richard's story in One Hot Escape, I was already invested in reading his brother Nick's story, and it's everything I was expecting. Nick's facing a bit of a scandal-induced crisis of confidence, so he hightails it to the USA to finish one last semester to get his business degree. There, he meets Dr. Griffin, his academic advisor, and sparks fly immediately.
The romance is a bit predictable but well done with lots of steamy fun along the way. Nick is a shameless flirt with an old-fashioned one-track mind, but underneath his randy eagerness is a heart that longs to find its home. Siobhan is satisfied in her career - perhaps a tad too satisfied - and she's quite unable (or unwilling) to ignore the invitation to walk on the wild side with Nick.
The obligatory "face the music" conclusion of a teacher/student romance is thrown in almost as an afterthought, their "getting caught" is only told to us rather than presented directly and the expected fallout doesn't throw much of a kink into their otherwise solid romance.
Nick doesn't come off as the brightest bulb in the bunch (how could he guess her age to be "about thirty" when he's already met her adult daughter?) but his heart's in the right place and his many other qualities are on full display. Siobhan seems easily convinced to adopt a cavalier attitude about her job, despite her initial concerns about the ethics involved, but it's believable that she's simply ready for a career change anyway.
Their HEA was terrific and the chance to attend Richard and Maddie's wedding was the icing on the cake. I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book.
One Hot Rumor Hot Brits, Book 5 By: Anna Durand Narrated by: Shane East, Vanessa Edwin
Rumors. They can do so much damage. But, without this particular woman who was insulted by Nick Hunter for not accepting her advances, then the rumor of happy endings at his spa would never have brought him to America to complete his degree. And he never would have been in Dr. Griffin's class. One to play by the rules, Siobhan Griffin has no intention of getting involved with her British student. Separated by only a few years and off the charts chemistry, it's literally impossible though. And what about that amazing accent? How can she resist? These two are magic together, and I love them! But more importantly, Anna Durand writes a low angst, fun loving story that had me entertained for hours. The characters are fun and engaging, the story line relevant and the narration impeccable. It's a wonderful addition to this series!
Shane East and Vanessa Edwin are a fantastic team. This pairing is brilliant. Nick is a swoony character and I love his charisma. Shane's voice brings it all out! Siobhan is a little stuffy, and very passionate. Vanessa knows exactly how to combine the two and bring her to life. It's a performance that will make you smile and blush in all the best ways.
One Hot Rumor is another fun, steamy, entertaining romp from Anna Durand. I can't get enough of these feel-good romances that are just so much fun to read and listen to.
Nick is fleeing from a scandal that he didn't deserve, and he decides to run across the pond to America to finally finish up his college degree. Siobhan, his academic advisor and professor, does not expect a 40-year-old undergraduate to come storming into her life and just make it MORE - more fun, more interesting, more alive. Their attraction was instant, like a lightning bolt, that just made Siobhan suddenly realize she wanted more from her life, which is what her college-aged daughter was telling her all along.
Nick, for his part, has some really serious feelings of inadequacy that he needs to address. And Siobhan really helps him deal with some of his past hurts as well as his feeling that he's the black sheep of the family.
Shane East and Vanessa Edwin were great in this audiobook. They were fun and flirty, and they brought all of the humor to my ears with such ease. I love it when narrators make the conversations feel natural and unforced, when you can hear the smile and the sly winks in their voices, and Shane and Vanessa definitely did that in this one!
This forbidden hot-for-teacher with a twist is my favorite in the series so far. Nick is a drop-dead sexy, persistent, adorable, cheeky man who has escaped to the US after a vicious rumor threatens his business in England. He finds himself enrolled in college to complete his business degree. Siobhan is the beautiful teacher who has everything organized in her life and is resistant (but reasonably/realistically tempted) to his advances and manages to keep her attraction under wraps...at least at first. They are so incredibly compatible and adorable! What starts out as a forbidden fling becomes everything they never knew they wanted and I loved every moment! The extensive clan family and friends was a real treat for anyone familiar with the series as well. The American wives club is adorable and you have to love their meddling.
Vanessa Edwin and Shane work beautifully together with yet another book in this series that swept me away. They narrate the whole series and bring fresh perspective to each and every character. I look forward to more from Anna with these wonderful Hot Brits so we can add members to the American Wives club!!
I received an #AdvancedListenerCopy of this book in exchange for my honest review.
Even though this is part of a larger continuity (5th book of this series) you do not need any pre-knowledge to enjoy the story. While there is name dropping and character appearances where I thought "I need more, lets go see if they have a book already" and reading all of those first may have added depth, this being my first exposure to Anna Durand's world was absolutely wonderful.
This is a fast paced, high heat story with an almost instalove level of chemistry between Nick & his advisor/advanced business analytics professor Dr. Griffin. These two are perfect for each other and they fit together really quick for a summer fling (or will it be more?).
I listened to the audio book performed by Shane East & Vanessa Edwin. Both of these narrators are amazing and even though it's a quicker listen at just over 5 hours, they perform the crap out of it. You can hear Vanessa bring in the emotional confusion that Siobhan goes through as she decides to act on her attraction to Nick. Shane's moments of raw realization as Nick when he reveals his truths grabs you. The accent work doesn't hurt either.
I was provided with a copy of the audio by the author in exchange for an honest review.
Siobhan is a strong professional woman, but doesn't ever allow herself to have any fun. Enter Nick Hunter, her newest student and self-proclaimed "World's Oldest Student" and resident sexy hot Brit! These two are immediately drawn together, but Siobhan is reluctant to get involved with Nick. When she gives in? Wow, she goes all in! I love her confidence in finally going for what she wants. Nick is, well, what can I say? He's HOT and he's a huge flirt, but this guy has layers. He's closed himself off after what happened back home but Siobhan allows him to be his true self. Did I mention that he's hot? Yeah. This book was so sexy and flirty! I loved it so much I listened twice! Hell, Rick & Maddie in One Hot Escape were my faves, but Nick & Siobhan took over that. They're twins though, so they could both be my top Hot Brits, right? I can't forget to mention on of my favorite narrator duos: Vanessa Edwin and Shane East, I mean, they brought Siobhan and Nick to life, with every scene. The flirting, the chuckles, and ALL OF IT! If I could listen to them narrate everything, I would!
The book was ok, probably my least favorite of the series. I honestly enjoyed his brother Rick and Maddie’s story better.
I loved the confidence that Nick exuded at the beginning of the book while perusing Siobhan. It’s a taboo relationship since she is a professor and he is a student(albeit a grown man in his 40’s I think)
Since the book is short it doesn’t leave time for relationship growth which probably bothered me the most. It moved very fast from the chase to getting together to love.
Nicks rumor issue wasn’t all that exiting and once he went back home to Britain.. specifically Cockshire😂 he became someone different. A man that lacked any confidence and needed to be reassured and pushed. Which Siobhan did but I felt she was a bit too pushy. I get that was the point for them both to take on these roles but it wasn’t a draw for me personally.
I love Shane East he does a great job with the accents and all the sayings were awesome. Vanessa equally did a great job in this duo narration.
This was One Hot Audiobook!! Holy smokes, Shane East !! I absolutely enjoyed Anna Durand’s latest installment of the Hot Brits Series. Usually, I’m not a fan of the teacher/student trope, but this book has changed my mind. The best part was that the student was mature and experienced and not a barely legal teenager. I loved that the professor and student were close to the same age. Right off the bat, Nick Hunter had me swooning. The professor, didn’t stand a chance. This book was funny, sweet, and super steamy. The chemistry between the main characters was so passionate and intense. It was nice to have some of the previous Scots and Brits revisit this book. One Hot Rumor was narrated by Shane East and Vanessa Edwin. They were phenomenal in their portrayal of Nick and Siobhan. They really brought them to life and brought o the heat. If you haven’t read any of Anna Durand’s books, you should definitely give them a try.
Nick Hunter was only an everyday massage therapist, until Lady Prescott came into his establishment requesting a special massage. When Nick informed her that they did not do those types of messages, she got extremely upset with him. She started some very nasty rumors on social media regarding his business that he was a gigolo. Hounded by the press he left England for the Southwest United States to finish his college degree at Vallefrio University at forty years old. When he met his advisor, Dr. SJ Griffin (Siobhan) it was immediate attraction for both of them. They both knew it was going to be a rough time keeping their hands to themselves. Their chemistry together was so overwhelming it was not long before they were spending all their free time with one another. There are plenty of twists and turns in the story to hold your interest as you sure will not want to put it down until the end.
I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
If you have followed all the McTaggart men, Dixon Brothers, and au Natural stories, Nick shows up in a few stories, so for me his book was anxiously awaited. Nick has a nasty rumor being spread about himself and the business he built from the ground up, that could upset anyone, but to cope Nick goes to America to finish his business degree. When he meets his advisor Nick has a second goal in mind. This is a fast-paced romance that is so much fun to read. Nick is the lighter side of his twin, but he still has the strength and determination to win the woman. I found Siobhan, which I am so glad for dictionaries cause I couldn't pronounce the name, to be a very strong character with a great heart. I loves these stories as they intertwine the characters the family keeps growing and its amazing.
I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
I received a copy from Booksprout; this is my honest review -There's no real story; the book is mostly bedroom details. Mostly a wishy-washy tenured professor who keeps saying she'll abide by the rules, then turns around and rips off the man's shirt, who's pretty good horizontally. -A few unbelievable facts such as since the lady who started the rumors already had a bad reputation, why would people listen to her? -Throughout the book, I thought Siobhan was pushy, treated Nick badly, used and discarded him, changes her mind in two seconds, and she was only thinking about s**. -I could have seen the affection and dependency from Nick, but no love or anything close from Siobhan. -I did like to see all the friends and family again. I also liked that the author brings us to the next book with Bennett.
This story starts out with Nick needed it to get away due to rumor he does special massages at his business. He decides to go to America to finish his business degree. At 40 he’s thinking he is probably the oldest grad student there. He goes to meet his teacher and finds the beautiful Dr. Griffin. He flirts with her and t done but the attraction is there for both of them. Siobhan has had some bad relationships and she is a little awkward with socializing. But she is attracted to this hot Brit . Knowing she shouldn’t but giving in to the chemistry anyway. These two are passionate and steamy. They get to know each other and fall hard. He brings her home for his brothers wedding. I loved having the whole gang there it’s great how the two series have interchanging characters. The writing is great. I can’t wait to read about Bens story.
The story really is like a “hot for teacher”episode. Nick and Siobhan have off the chart chemistry that is hard to contain. Once we get them involved together the real story starts. Getting to know one another.
My favorite thing about Nick is the “about face” that we see from him. He starts off as a player who is flustered about the rumor so he decides to change his life for a while. But his characterization changes as the story moves along and we find he might have a softer side. I didn't care much for him at the beginning I did a change once I got to know more of Nick. We also do get to go to Rick and Maddie’s wedding where the rest of him family comes into play. Yay! Who doesn't love the American Wives club?
I did listen to this on audio. Shane East and Vanessa Edwin both did a great job.
In the fifth installment of The Hot Brits by Anna Durand, we follow Nick and Siobhan. Nick is Richard's twin brother. We were introduced to him in the previous book as the more outgoing twin. He is a business owner who is hiding out in the US to let rumors back in the UK die down. To pass his time, he goes back to college and labels himself the oldest student in the University. Here he meets Siobhan, who is his professor.
I liked that this was a story about two people who are older. They have had success and experiences so they are more relatable to me. As with any Anna Durand book, this had medium angst and high hotness. Loved seeing the clan in this book.
The audio version is narrated by Vanessa Edwin and Shane East. Both did such a great job portraying the MCs. I love this narrator team!
Nick Hunter owns a day spa in England. A disgruntled client spreads a nasty rumor about him providing happy endings after he turns down a pass she made at him. He decides to go to the U.S. to finish his college degree until the rumors stop. He is an outrageous flirt and charmer.
Siobhan Griffin is a professor of mathematics at Vallefrio University and is Nick's advisor. She is attracted to Nick from the start. She eventually agrees to date Nick on the down low even though he is in one of her classes and they both could get in trouble for doing so. They fall in love and get their HEA.
I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
I received an ARC from the author thru Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving my review. Nick has taken advantage of a need to escape the rumors back home. Finishing his degree brings him to the US and the woman he has been missing from his life. The main conflict is that Siobhan works at the University and he is a student. This does not stop things from developing with that attraction they feel. There is some drama in this story but it is mainly about their relationship. It is the fifth book in the Hot Brits series, and while not my favorite, it is still a good story. Nick and Siobhan show that love can find you when and where you least expect it.

Nick Hunter's story in the Hot Brits series. Nick left home to go to a university in the United States after being the victim of a terrible rumor. His confidence was shaken and he was embarrassed so it was hard for him to see that he would get through it and he would not lose his business over it. He was immediately attracted to his advisor/professor. I liked that this was not your typical older professor/younger student story. These are two grown adults roughly the same age. Nick turned out to be my second favorite of the Hot Brits (behind Chance). Overall this was a really nice low-angst story. I listened to the audiobook version which had narration by Shane East and Vanessa Edwin. Narration was very good as you would expect from these two narrators.
3.5-3.75 stars It was pretty cute! Admittedly, it was refreshingly unpredictable in several ways, too! I thought it was refreshing that Nick wasn’t a complete man-wh0re and that his ego took such a blow that he’s really struggling with his self-image & self-worth. I loved how Siobhan was such a strong character, too (though I’d argue that her 18 year old daughter is “fully grown” & completely independent. That’s a brand new adult! And she’s claiming to still be a virgin, too. Not terribly experienced or worldly, I’d say. But anyway.) I haven’t read any of the other books in this series, but now I’m a little curious about the next one. I’m also a little more curious & suspicious about Felicity’s biological father….
Also—sign me up for one of Nick’s “special massages”, please!
This is another great read from Anna Durand. Nick shows up in NM to finish his degree and immediately is attracted to his unavailable advisor. Siobhan is also immediately attracted. She puts up resistance and sticking to her ethics for all of what seems like 2 seconds. These two launch into dating and much more. Siobhan is aware of the dangers to her career but she is suddenly tired of what she is doing. Nick has lots of issues to work through and Siobhan is really good at helping through his issues. They move more and more towards serious but they both have issues that needs to be addressed.

The author has pulled us into the lives of Nick and Siobhan and never lets go. When rumors abound about Nick in his town in England, he heads to New Mexico in order to finish his business degree at the University. Siobhan is his faculty advisor and math professor, however they have an immediate attraction that they cannot ignore. Will this be a fling or will they be able to have a fulfilling relationship?

One Hot Rumor was a smoking hot read by Anna Durand. Its book 5 in the Hot Brits Book series and I will definitely be reading the previous books. Nick Hunter owns a spa but after a scandal rocks his world, Nick heads back to America and enrolls in college. He intends to finally finish his degree and graduate. Siobhan Griffin is his advisor but he is also in one of her classes. So of course she refuses to accept their immediate connection. But Nick knows she in the one for him. She finally agrees to see him but will they get their HEA? 5 stars!!!
This is a story about a teacher, 42 year old Siobhan, and a professor and her student is 40 year old hottie with a British accent, Nick Hunter. Nick is very into his teacher and she ends up having some hot times with Nick. Nick is very fun loving and I enjoyed watching him try to get Siobhan to relax and enjoy life and share many hot times with him.
Its not a very deep story but has humor and a lot of charm and I enjoyed reading it.

What great chemistry between these characters, it starts off with a small spark and definitely keeps building the more they play off each other. I will have to say I loved the relationship of Siobhan and Felicity, so open and fun in how sassy her daughter wanted to her mom to get out and have fun. I liked how Nick and Siobhan both helped one another, her in relaxing and him actually growing up and standing up for himself. A fun lighthearted storyline that will have you laughing.
I am voluntarily leaving a review for this book that I received free.
