Joined by unlikely allies, Orissa and Leon make final preparations. The sentient Machines that haver overtaken Earth will bow, or they will be destroyed utterly and entirely.
But just before an all-out war is waged, Orissa and Leon find themselves under siege once more. And this time, there may be no escape. Finality has arrived.
Having made their final move, the Machines look to secure their domination of Earth for eternity. But they hadn’t counted on an intervention from an ancient and forgotten foe who endures solely to counter their very existence.
Death is coming. The only question is which side of his scythe humanity finds itself on.
Justin DePaoli called Pittsburgh home for twenty-one years, but now lives in Kentucky with his fiancee, stilt-legged German shepherd, two cats, and a company of fish.
Beginning his career as a freelance writer, he now writes fiction full-time.
When he's not writing, he enjoys playing guitar (quite horribly), running, lifting, playing video games, and spending time with his fiancee and menagerie of pets.
Well it took me a while to remember how well this man writes ,my mind seems COVID fogged I guess,, great sense of compassion and able to weave ,the tech ,guns and guts of a great adventure, not one but many memorable characters ,lets hope this isn’t the last of this particular world.there just seems so much more to build on, thanks again
Having just completed the trilogy, I'm going to give it a pass at 3 star. The set is enjoyable enough: the pace is fair; the tangents never veer too far; the characters are easy to understand; and the trilogy wraps up succinctly. However, you may quickly comprehend the writing as a mash-up of a considerable number of sci-fi man-against-machine tropes, taking it closer to a plot for a cable tv film or fps game than a truly original take on sci-fi. Certain aspects, such as the shallow romantic side story or cutesy floating mini robots, take it further into the area of a 'general audience movie' or 'young adult novel'. If you are fairly new to sci-fi, this trilogy will definitely give you lots of sci-fi action to enjoy, but sci-fi veterans may consider it too much of a re-hash of too many familiar elements.
