A discounted bundle of the first three Wasteland Chronicles books.
A world-ending meteor. An invasion of monsters. A desperate fight for survival...
Alex Keener has lived all of his sixteen years in Bunker 108. He's walked the same metal halls, seen the same faces, has followed the same rules. All that changes when a viral outbreak forces him to flee the safety of his bunker.
Outside, he discovers a barren world twisted by the impact of the meteor Ragnarok thirty years ago. Alone, he must wander a brutal landscape, where every breath is a fight for survival. Monsters haunt the planet's surface, and nothing of the old world remains.
Can Alex survive this hellish wasteland, or will he become its newest victim?
I'm Kyle West, author of the Wasteland Chronicles, Xenoworld Saga, Starsea Cycle, and more. I try to write books with lots of action and crazy twists to keep you turning the pages. Every book of mine can be categorized as "science fantasy," blending elements from both genres.
Enjoyed very much and looking forward to next episode!
Great dystopian tale and struggle against the dangers of post apocalyptic America. Enjoyed the characters, Alex and his cohorts and their journeys and battles. Sometimes the odds were so against them and the events unbelievable at times, but most of the time it was easy to get into the story and the scenarios are heroes engaged in. Good character development, great mystery, excitement and against terrible odds, hope- not only that they can overcome their enemies and obstacles, but potentially set a course for a better world.. Happy Reading!!! Tim
The Wasteland Chronicles -Book 1, 2 & 3 The Wasteland Chronicles Omnibus by Kyle West includes the first 3 books of a 7 book series. The first three books are -Apocalypse, Origins & Evolution. All three books are fantastic! It's about a post-apocalyptic world after the U.S. was hit by this huge meteor called Ragnarok that also carried a deadly virus called Xenovirus. As the virus spreads, the survivors that were living in Bunkers have been forced to live in the harsh wasteland. This was really another pleasant surprise that I found in the Kobo store. It's pretty action packed and the pacing is on point and the stories are good lengths-not too long, not too short. Another good thing about it is - it's free! The first three books, The Wasteland Chronicles Omnibus, are actually free so if you like dystopia/post-apocalyptic survival stories you should check it out. I know Amazon & Kobo both have it.
This book is a waste of time. Don't waste your time reading it. It's stupid. I initially gave this two stars but within minutes said to myself "what's wrong with you??" And changed it to one star. I feel better now.
A few reasons this book is awful: 1. In the first book in this omnibus edition, Alex, the main character, shares a story with someone (not important who) about how his family ended up in Bunker 108. In the third book, Alex is stunned to hear the story of how his family ended up in Bunker 108 as he had never heard it before. It was the same story. Did the author completely forget that he had already used that? 2. This xenovirus is spreading throughout what's left of America and most of middle America is covered by the Great Blight, a terrifying place where all living things have been infected. It's dangerous. It's deadly. Our protagonists must travel hundreds of miles through it to get to the bunker that holds the secret of the xenovirus. It's a great setup. However, it seems our protagonists safely traversed the first portion in a couple of short chapters, stumbled upon the ONE bunker in America with working auto-piloted aircraft, and traverse most of the Great Blight in the safety of the self-piloting aircraft. Seriously? A build up like that about the Great Blight and they fly over it. 3. Conversely, a ridiculous amount of detail goes into other things. There's an alarm on the space station they end up on and it delays their travel plans but who cares? It's irrelevant to the story and was two chapters of useless details that did absolutely nothing to advance the plot. 4. This rag tag band of protagonists defeated virtually every fighter and monster in the book. A 16yo kid who knows little about fighting, a couple of young women skilled in fighting beyond the realm of believability, and a scientist. But the well trained warriors of Nova Roma couldn't fight worth anything. Stupid. 5. There are a ridiculous number of coincidences. Honestly, the whole world is in danger and 99% of the population gone, and the best plot mechanism you have is coincidence that this guy knew that guy's dad and this girl and her brother were separated and reunited at least twice through sheer luck, and the guy who runs Raiders Bluff happens to be the brother of the guy who ran the only decent gang in LA and on and on.

We meet 16 year old Alex living in bunker 108 with his scientist father. Alex is about to go on his first recon mission (which is the tradition when someone turns 16). Him and his partner come across someone from another bunker. The man is stabbed and close to death. What happens when they bring him in (and he is revealed to have the xenovirus) result in the bunker being decimated and no one but Alex getting out alive. Alex meets up with Makara after being on his own for a brief period. Then her brother Samuel and a few other people. They lose their supplies and clothing a little too often for my taste. But, I guess when battling raiders, monsters, and others in the post apocalypse that's what would happen. I liked that xenovirus exposed people didn't become zombies. They became a different type of monster. The writing was tense and, the fight and monster scenes kept me on edge. Alex's evolution and his seeing things outside of the bunker for the first time is genuine. I'm looking forward to the next in the series.
These first three books are great. Introducing the main characters seeing them take on the responsibility to save the earth from aliens that have sent a virus to prepare the earth for their arrival.
One of the best series I have seen in a long time perfectly staged from the offset even khloes death (I did let a tear out) perfectly linked Alex to Anna

Ok I give up technically I didn’t finish this but I read 2 of the 3 books and I’m just not invested enough to read the 3rd.
This series is the book equivalent of an “it’s not you, it’s me” break up. Could I carry on and finish the last book in this omnibus edition yes but there are another 4 books after it and I am just not invested enough it for the long haul and so it’s better for us both if we cut our losses and move on.
The premise is good we have a post apocalyptic world caused by the devastation of a meteor. There are bunkers and creatures outside. There is a lot of similarities to Fallout but I have no idea which came first and don’t care enough to check, as it doesn’t take away from the story.
My biggest problem with this story is the characters and how shallow they are. It’s hard to feel anything for someone when they are supposed to be grieving but are already eyeing up the first female the see. The second issue I have is the sheer amount of deus ex machina that occurs, this felt very much like a video game dynamic that you find a pile of weapons just as you need them, the vehicle you need is left with the keys in and so on.
I feel like I’m being overly negative here so I will say it has a good premise and whilst not for me I am sure (and other reviews back this up) that many other people will love it.

The Dark Day, December 3, 2030. The meteor Ragnarok has impacted earth and for the next 30 years, the wasteland has become increasingly dangerous for the surviving population. Alex has just turned 16, and that means his name has been put in the lottery and was obligated to go on a recon trip to the wasteland. His father is a prominent scientist and was among those chosen, with his family, to enter this bunker. He lives in one of the 144 bunkers that were built underground to hold a privileged few for protection from the meteor, and he was born in this bunker, #108. What they find out in the desolation will change everything.
"I don't regret anything. Every scar, every memory, has made me who I am......I can't go back to who I was."
Alex will learn about things that he has never experienced living his entire life so far in a self-sustaining bunker. He will learn of fear, loss, strength, sacrifice, hunger, pain, and courage. He will experience hope for the last of mankind and their future. He will find beauty in a world he has never known, and fight with all his being to save it.
Three volume edition, book one sets scheme and I produced characters. Quite a good storyline in volume 1 with maybe too much detail in places. The meteorite was a better plot than majority particularly with a xenovirus. (Scientific speculation thinks it probable ) The fact that MEL's are being tracked plus it's known there will be an asteroid doing a 'flyby in a few.years, (returning in 2037?) gives story some.credence. Character of Alex developed.a little too quickly, at the end of book 3 he's still only 16, just not enough time to be trained in Various skills. Various scenarios are OTT, even for post apocalypse fiction plus there are some glaring errors (even allowing for future scientific development ) Overall though, if you don't mind 'filling in the two's it's a good story
Conceptually, good story, but once we got to the action scenes it became a slog fest. With some editing work, this could be a really enjoyable read, but with such slow and inactive action descriptions, I couldn't concentrate on the story being told. The action scenes moved so slow that I found myself mentally rewriting them to get into the action.
For example,
"I backed away, but Kari turned to concentrate on Makara, who was firing into her. Kari forced herself close to Makara, trying to swipe the gun out of her hand."
What if,
I scrambled back as Makara fired. Kari turned, lunging at Makara, swiping at her with vicious, inhuman claws.
I am curious about the rest of the series, but I'll wait until there's an updated version.
I have been an avid sci-fi fantasy reader my whole life, I LOVE apocalypse books. This series takes both of those to the highest level. This series is unbelievably good. This is a must read. I read the first 3 books in less than a week. This is no ordinary apocalypse book. It has been the most intricate insane spin on any apocalypse sci-fi fantasy book I’ve ever read. They need to make this into a movie it’s that good!!
I had already read the first one in this series and liked it so i got this to finish up the series. I liked it, it is a bit out there and at some points does slow down a bit but was generally a good story. It did keep my interest and I did finish it and was happy with the story. It is end of the world book but with some virus and different creatures.
I actually really enjoyed this instalment of "three" (length was more like two and a half) books, but there is not an ending, and despite hunting for the fourth book in the series I was unable to find it to purchase. It appears to be unavailable, hence the low score. If I'd have known I wouldn't get to read any of the other books in the series I wouldn't have read these.
The end of the world, but not as you'd have imagined!
I read the first in the series as a stand-alone purchase and I am so glad I picked this trilogy up. It really is the only way to read this kind of series. Each story is action packed and builds upon the characters you grow to love. There were a few typos so I gave 4 stars.
Interesting, liked the characters and the way the different factions developed. Very original thought and interesting that after a world liking situation one group would follow the Roman ethic. I am curious about how they will unite to overcome the threatened invasion.
I enjoyed the trilogy that I read as a starter to a much larger world, it's mainly geared toward YA audiences with the main characters but it's a good post apocalyptic series
I really enjoyed this collection of books! I intend to read the remaining books and hope they will be as good!. I have always enjoyed science fiction books! I hope this will never happen to our world!! A Kindle customer
Waste of time. I was really excited about the premise: zombies caused by an alien virus… but the character were so elementary and boring. I just couldn’t get excited and was basically skimming at the end, just to finish.
Really good series and premise. On one hand you have groups that have reverted to past empirical societies, on the other an alien presence intent on changing the world. Storyline drug in a couple of places, but otherwise very entertaining!
This 1-3 books of the series have been pretty good. Mostly can't put it down 'cept I have to to get anything else done. Good storyline and good writing.
Enjoyed this book alot. Introduced quite a few characters. It was a real page turner and looking forward to getting into the rest of the series. Highly recommend.
