She’s loved him since high school and now he’s back.

First I don’t remember her.

Then I insult her.

I don’t mean to, but I’m used to being around rough military men,

Not sensitive, beautiful women.

She’s been the one that sent me care packages.

And she’s the one that caught my eye.

I’m obsessed. All I can do is think of her.

But no matter how many times I ask,

She’s not willing to go out with me.

When her safety comes into question,

She no longer has a choice because whether she wants me to or not,

I’m going to keep her safe...

and then I’m going to make her mine.

“Obsessed” is the story of Sierra and Evan.

Very sweet tale in which the now grown up jock finally noticed the nerdy girl who loved him. He’s been in the army and is scarred, she’s the librarian still smitten with him. He chases her, some stalker drama ensues and the book ends in a HEA.

"The man I’ve been pretty much been in love with almost half my life doesn’t even have a clue who I am. If that’s not a reality check, I don’t know what is."

Sierra has been in love with Evan since high school. Now that he's back with an injury from the military she's not quite sure what to do with herself. She doesn't think she's in his league at all. It turns out that Evan never thought that he was in her league. Things are amped up when it turns out that Sierra has a stalker and Evan is determined to protect her by staying near her at all times. Evan's protectiveness is just what this story needed to make it a quick fun romance read.

STORY:
I love Evan’s and Sierra’s story. It was so adorable the way their romance progress. The popular jock and the nerdy girl reconnecting years later just won me over. This small town series has me hooked with the couples and this new added couple brought an appeal of the series. Evan was just so darn cute and the way he was in this book and pursuing Sierra was a plus. Sierra, I love her! I have nothing bad to say about her. The only issue, I wanted to know if she she knew who the stalker was. That situation did not feel complete to me.

This is an Insta love story and a quick read that easily passes times.

CHEMISTRY:
They had a likable physical chemistry, and it was pleasant to read.

SECONDARY CHARACTERS:
I am so anxious anticipating Violet’s story. Her Epilogue introducing us to her upcoming story with Josh is going to be soooooo juicy.

Overall, I will be sad when this series end, but I am glad that I got to read it, and I am enjoying it.

✰✰Triggers: none

****I don’t equate these stories to real life. It’s about personal taste and what you would or want to tolerate with the books you read. I know we all have different opinions and preferences with what we read. I based my book reviews on my preferences and what I like, and while these preferences may not be the same for others, I hope this review was still helpful.

This was cuute!

It's the story of Evan an Sierra. She had a crush on him since highschool and always kept him in her mind, sending weekly packages while he was in the military. Now he is discharged because of a health problem, has trouble adjusting to the civilian life but discovers Sierra and makes it his mission to be with her.

This was cute, his insistence on her going out with him was adorable, it didn't felt pushy, it was always written at the right time. Both characters are charming, and the side characters, too. Man, that ending just keeps you on your toes wanting to read the next story.

Sweet, a bit hot, low on drama, short, just lovely!

Hot shot!

The popular jock, returns home after an injury only to fall for the one woman he never gave a chance in high school. She is the bookworm with a few secrets of her own and a crush on our hero. Danger brings them together as passion ignites on the pages. A happily ever after ending is the icing on this small, but tasty slice of cake.❤️

I am really loving this series so far and it makes me wish these were longer. Evan is back home after being medically discharged and he’s just trying to get his life back in order. As a person who also deals with really bad vertigo, it was nice to read a character with the same thing, I don’t think I’ve ever come across that before. Sierra has had a crush on Evan since high school and while he didn’t know as they were in opposite friend groups, it never seemed to go away. So of course, when Violet once again tries to work her match making skills, it doesn’t quite go as planned. Evan is determined though and when Sierra winds up with a stalker things take a bigger turn.

That was cute as hell and I loved it.
I'm only taking away one star for the time frame (too fast) and the instalovey vibes from the hero.

But so far, it's deffo my favourite part in this series.

I'm super excited for the next book in the series.

I really enjoyed this one.

The only problem is that it really needs to be a longer book because there is so much information not being given to us.

Otherwise, a really great read and I enjoyed the characters.

Sierra has had a crush on Evan since high school. She was the bookworm and he was the jock. Now he’s back in town after being discharged from the military working at the family’s security company. Evan feels a connection between them but the words come out wrong whenever he talks to her and she’s so shy around him that she keeps turning him down when he asks her out. An entertaining read with a bit of suspense and drama. These two are perfect for each other and Evan is persistent in his quest to make her his. A lovely quick read. Can’t wait for Violet’s turn. I received an arc copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

Sierra and Evan have known each other since high school, she was the nerdy bookworm and he the hot jock. After graduation he leaves for the military, an injury ends his career and he is now working for his family’s security firm. Sierra is the town librarian, she is still a bookworm but has become a beautiful curvy woman who is kind and compassionate. She has sent Evan a care package every week with things from home and a sweet note. She never signed the note with her name. When the two run into each other at Violet’s diner, she’s so happy to see him, he doesn’t recognize her, she’s crushed by this and quickly leaves. To make it up to her he takes the dessert she left behind and goes to the library. There he unfortunately insults her, he didn’t mean to, it just came out wrong. When he asks her out she turns him down. Not deterred he pursues her. A little drama with a stalker who is upset Sierra turned him down a while back. Evan is there to protect her and after she invites him in and they have their first time together, she’s a virgin, he’s been celibate for years. It was sweet how he protected her and pursued her, he was not going take no for an answer. Epilogue one month later with Sierra afraid now that he’s feeling better he will leave her for the military again. He assures her he won’t cause he loves her, no, he’s obsessed with her., I love yous and sexy times, without birth control. Second epilogue was setting up Violet’s book, can’t wait.

it has a really good plot and story line, is written well also however it’s just too short for me and /TOO/ fast paced for me. the whole series is.

i gave this book two stars because this book was good but I probably won't remember anything from it if you ask me about it in the future. I may not even remember the name. that’s why it’s two stars.

Crushed when her high school (current) crush doesn’t remember her …

This is the third story in the Whiskey Run series. While it can be read as a stand-alone, I recommend they be read in publication date for maximum reader satisfaction. There are some reoccurring characters, including the town matchmaker and diner owner, Violet.

These have been very fast reads, with a surprising amount of detail built in. I am loving the continuity of this series and the ‘matchmaker’ angle.

I mention the following for readers such as myself that visualize the story as it is read, because errors interrupt the flow. There were only a few grammatical issues, such as missing words, incorrect punctuation and a technical inconsistency with the data concerning Sierra’s work. Normally I lower the rating for something relating to the main characters, but this could be construed either way. This is because when Evan asked what was her work again, Violet said she hadn’t told her yet, but she had. When she first started talking about Sierra’s attributes, Violet told him she was the youngest librarian ever hired by the town. Where else would Sierra work in a town the size of Whiskey Run but the library?

⛔️ Contains scenes that may be a trigger or offensive for sensitive readers. These include adult language, mental health challenges with depression, maybe PTSD from military, etc. adult intimate scenes, and violence through references to military service.

Here is how the story begins:

Violet is at it again …

Sierra delivers some books to fear good friend and fellow book club member, Violet, at her diner because she doesn’t have time to go by the library. While she is there, Evan, the crush she just can’t get over walks into the diner.

Evan was Honorably Discharged from the Army a little over a month ago after developing vertigo. Nothing has worked and he just couldn’t stay on active duty with it, so he is back home working at his family’s security business. Evan has been doing his best to avoid everyone since he came back, but he knows he needs to get out and about. That is why he heads to the diner to speak with Violet about upgrading her security system.

When he arrives, he immediately notices the curvy female speaking with Violet. She looks very familiar, and she has definitely caught his attention, but he just can’t place her immediately. This comes back to bite him when he is informed that it is Sierra … the same Sierra that helped him pass a certain math class in high school … the same Sierra that he used to think about periodically but knew he didn’t have a chance with because she was too good, smart for a jock. That Sierra.

Then Evan sees the look on Sierra’s face when he doesn’t recognize her straight off and THEN he makes it worse unintentionally … he meant it as a compliment, but could see how it could be interpreted differently. Then Violet tells him all about what Sierra did in regards to the weekly care packages he received while overseas … the thing he looked forward to every week to give him the connection to his hometown … Oh boy, can he rectify this?

They deserve a HEA
‘Obsessed’ is book three in this series, and even though I haven’t read the first two, it was fine to read as a standalone. This book is about Evan and Sierra. He was honourably discharged from the United States Army after a bad fall, and it’s been a long one month and three days since that dismissal. So after four years away, Evan subsequently moved back to his home town of Whiskey Run, bought a fixer upper and started working with his brother in their family’s security business. Being in the service had been his dream ever since he was little, so the transition to working in an office environment was a difficult one for him.
His brother Sam asked him to do a quote at one of the local diners. His friend Violet hasn’t seen him since he returned home, and she’s taken over the family diner since her parents retired and moved to Florida. She was also a very close friend of Sierra’s.
Sierra works in the Public Library and was having lunch with Violet in the diner when she’d overheard that Evan was back in town. She was a little worried about him, knowing he’d planned on being a lifer in the army. But she felt like she couldn’t talk to him about it, or about anything at all! They’d been complete opposites in high school, and she thinks he barely knew she existed! Nevertheless, she’s devastated that he doesn’t remember her when they bump into each other. But when Violet starts to say her name, he remembers immediately!
Evan works hard to apologise, and seek her forgiveness. This then extends further to asking her out on multiple occasions, where she says no each time. It’s funny and sweet, but he refuses to give up! He has some plans up his sleeve and his relentless in his efforts, determined to get her to go out with him, so will she finally relent and give him a chance?
This is sweet, steamy and serendipitous. The lead characters are so charming and endearing, that it’s hard to not love them. They seem like real people I’d like to be friends with. Evan and Sierra had so much in common – me too! I love Jeopardy and I miss Alex! They just warmed my heart, even in the stubborn and frustrating bits.
I was a bit disappointed with how abruptly this story ended, not knowing what happens to this couple… BUT, I’m really looking forward to reading more about Violet and Josh’s story. I have one hunch about how they happened, but am excited to find out more! And considering how close Violet is to Sierra, I’m hoping we find out more about her love life in the next book too. I give this entertaining read four and a half dizzying stars.

Quick short read.
Was cute. It's a wrong time romance, I guess. She was weirdly obsessed with him in high school, and he apparently never noticed. I find it hard to believe that if she was hanging out with his mum randomly, the mum never mentioned it to him.. but ok.
There was a bit missing, and I felt maybe it was a little too much edited.. like: what happened in the army? What did he do for the army? What did the commander want in the end? as he called, but we never found out why? He was honourably discharged due to injury, so why is the commander calling?
The stalker storyline needed more it was kind of introduced. Then, 2 minutes later, he was arrested.
I also thought there was going to be more around Jessica, but again, one conversation then nothing more.
There was just potential for more with this one.
I'm also not a huge fan of spice right after someone has been attacked and is in shock. It just annoys me.
And again, another book where it's her first time with little before or after care.. come on, author, unless this was written before you have experienced it 😳🤔 needs to be done better. At least take a girl to dinner first, not the night her stalker tries to break in.. I wanted Evan to try harder telling her it wasn't the right time.. but nope, he was just thinking with his little friend. And of course, no Bh and no protection, but because they say "I'm clean," let's just go for it (but it will be fine 🙄). What kind of a guy who is now obsessed with her doesn't at least have a spare in the wallet.. come on. Let's do better for safety for realism and hygiene here. Mentioning having protection doesn't ruin the moment for a reader.
A month into the relationship, and she still hadn't gone on any birth control, or they don't have a solid supply of condoms since they keep going at it. Please.
So, of course, 9 months later, in the epilogue. And the Epilogue mentions they are married when did that happen??
It was slightly better than the last book. But it could be better.

The addition starts with the book cover….yeah…yeah…yeah don’t judge a book by its cover they say ….well we all do it and this one here it is the scratch to your itch or better yet the filling to your oreos! Speaking of filling…..wait, that’s for later. Within the first chapters you get the panoramic view of whom you’re dealing with! By the time you’ve figured out who is who and who to like and dislike, you’re already hooked, and you may as well give up the fight and prepare yourself for an all-nighter!
Can’t say I didn’t warn you.
(Believe me when I say you won’t put it down until the last page is read…you will find yourself getting upset cause someone called, texted or bothered you while reading this one, you will find yourself up at ungodly hours just to finish it knowing you have to be at work early (like 3am early) the very next day) YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED!!!
I love each of the books in the Whiskey Run series this one is no different. The two of them met during/in high school. Sierra has had a crush on Evan since high school and she thought it was over until she had to come face to face with him. After high school Even went off into the military and due to his vertigo, he was discharged early. Once home he hired on at McCarthy Security directly across the street from the library Sierra works and in protecting her due to a stalker situation and learn more about her not realizing he has met her in the past. Sierra is hurt that he didn’t remember her, so she doesn’t really give him an honest chance it seems for a moment she is stuck back in high school instead of living in the present. Sierra has to accept Evan for today not keep holding him to a standard from high school will she understand and accept him for who he is today, accept his apology for not remembering her and will they find happiness?

Evan was the most popular boy in high school and could be with any girl he wanted. After graduation he joined the military and served heroically until he had a bad fall. As a result from the fall, Evan suffers from serious vertigo. He was honorably discharged and he moved back home. Now that he has been home for several weeks he is pushing himself to go out among people again. On his first trip to the diner, he meets a very pretty girl who runs as soon as he asks her name. Evan is embarrassed to find out the woman, Siera was in high school with him and even tutored him. She was the one who sent him care packages every week while he was in the military. Now Evan is eager to apologize and get to know her better but Sierra keeps pushing him away.

Sierra has had a crush on Evan since high school. She never had any hope of him noticing her since she was plain and he was gorgeous and popular. While he was in the military, she sent him a care package every week but she never signed her name. Now he is back in town, she keeps trying to spot him but he is mostly staying inside. Then she runs into him at the diner where she is embarrassed that he doesn't recognize her. When Evan come to apologize Sierra accepts his apology but turns down a date. She is afraid he will break her heart since they are so different. She keeps trying to keep Evan at a distance until he finds out that she may have a stalker.

Amazing Book! Wonderful quick read with no break-up. A wonderful HEA to added.

Sierra has had a crush on Evan since they were in high school together. The problem is Evan has barely noticed Sierra, she was the keep to herself, nerd. Evan goes into the Army after high school and Sierra does everything she can to stay connected to Evan, she send him care packages. When Evan is dishonorable discharged Sierra still keeps tabs on Evan. When Violet gets involved and they have an accidental meeting at Red's Diner, Evan doesn't even remember Sierra, which crushes her. Evan then offers to take Sierra her forgotten slice of apple cinnamon Blaze Cake, but still manages not to say the right things to Sierra. Evan keeps asking Sierra out but she keeps refusing him because she believes she'll get over Evan one day and doesn't want her heart broken. When Violet finds out Sierra has a stalker she get Evan involved. It is then that Sierra realizes Evan has feeling for her and finally takes him up on his offer to go out with her. When Sierra stalker is found on her property Evan calls the police then races to be by her sides vowing never to leave her again. With a wonderful HEA!

The third book in Hope Ford's Whiskey Run series is Obsessed, a sweet and steamy small-town romance. Evan is back in Whiskey Run after serving it the army for the past four years, a concussion leaving him with a bad case of vertigo resulting in an honourable discharge. Sierra is the town librarian, and she has had a crush on Evan since they were high school; but he was the star quarterback and she was a bookish nerd, and he never seemed to notice her. When Evan finds out Sierra was responsible for sending him weekly care packages, he goes to the library to thank her - and seeing her in a new light, he knows he wants to be with her. But out there is someone else who is obsessed with her, and Evan's protective instincts kick in while at the same time proving to Sierra that she is all he wants. Evan is swoon-worthy, and Sierra so authentic and relatable, and their story a wonderfully written sweet and steamy read.

Librarian get her army man

Sierra has had a crush on Evan for along time and when he was in the army she sent him care packages every week he didn’t know it was her and when he came back to Whiskey run he didn’t even recognise her time for Sierra to put this crush aside forever.
Evan didn’t recognise Sierra at first but then Violet told him who she was and that Sierra was the one sending the care packs out to him. Evan tries to speak to Sierra but she wouldn’t stay long enough and whenever he asked her out she would say no but when her stalker turned back up and Evan found out about it he wasn’t going to let her out of his sight. Evan installed and alarm at her house but still slept outside and took her too and through to work that night he went home for a quick shower and change of clothes Sierra’s stalker was standing outside of her house he had never driven so fast to get to her.
Sierra ending up talking to the police for hours and Evan didn’t let her go and since that day they have been inseparable. The bonus scene you can get is a lovely added bonus

Evan is home for good. He has been a honorable discharged from the service because of his vertigo. He has been keeping a low profile trying to deal with the medical and working for his family’s security firm. He goes over to a business client and runs into someone he went to school with, Sierra. He doesn’t recognize her and then he kind of insults her and it just goes bad! Can Evan ever feel comfortable with people again? Can he apologize to Sierra and will she accept it? He starts an all out campaign to get Sierra to go out on a date with him. Will Sierra ever agree? This is a very entertaining, enjoyable, comical story of two people who care for each other and against all odds continue to stumble and fall and eventually find their way. It is sweet, sassy, sexy little story of love, admiration and a touch of craziness.

Sierra and Evan went to high school together but weren't in the same circles. After getting discharged from the military for a military condition Evan has come back home. When Sierra runs into him and he doesn't remember her it turns her back into her teenage self. She goes and hides out at the library she works at. When Evan realizes who it was he had been talking to and what she had done for him while he was away he knew he needed to see her again. However when she refused to go out with him Evan made it his mission to convince her that he was serious about going out with her. When he learns that she has a stalker its not long before he steps in to help her. Will Sierra take a chance on Evan? Can they be together?

This is an amazing story that once I started it I couldn't put it down. This is a well written and very entertaining story. I would recommend this book to any book lover.

Evan is ex-military and is a partner in his family's security business. Sierra is the town librarian. She's had a crush on Evan since they were in high school but she was the nerd and he was the jock and they did what was expected of them. When they meet again as adults, it doesn't go well. Evan is attracted to Sierra but can't seem to find the right words to express himself. She doesn't trust his new admiration. But he is persistent. They both have some insecurities to get over and a dangerous situation to get through but love could be around the corner! I like this short story for it's multi-POV, small-town setting, good support from family and friends, romantic moments, dialogue and range of emotions. A quick and satisfying story about adults meeting again at the right time in their lives. Very entertaining!

This is book 3 of the Whiskey Run series. Evan is recently back home after he leaves the military and starts working at his families security company. Sierra is the town librarian who has been in love with Evan for over half her life. There are some miscommunications at the beginning that leads to some tension. Evan keeps trying to ask Sierra out on a date but she refuses him time and time again as a way to protect herself because she feels that they are leagues apart and does not trust that he truly feels the same way about her as she does about him. Evan goes above and beyond to show her how much she means to him. I absolutely love the the two of them together and I cannot wait for the next book in the series!!

Evan has returned home after being discharge, one time thought to be a lifer, now he is back work with his brothers. Sierra is the town's librarian and has had a crush on Evan since high school, she is a bit awkward but has become stronger than who she was. When Evan sees Sierra at the diner he does not know who she is, upset Sierra heads back to work. Not wanting to hurt Sierra he tries to apologize but only makes it worse.

Evan and Sierra have a sweet story both are dealing with their own insecurities that makes it hard to take what people say at face value. Now that is not all that is going on..... Sierra has a stalker so their is a bit of suspense thrown into the love story.

A well written story that will make your heart sing.

Whiskey 3

This book is about Evan & Sierra as we learnt at the end with Violet's running commentary.

A high school Jock and book nerd reuniting 4 years later.

I am quickly finding with Hope's books and writing that I want the books to be just a little bit longer.
1. Mostly because you get so into the storyline and characters that it's over before you know it.
2. The scenes are way too short and always right at the end. She writes some good scenes and they are over way to quickly.
3. There is never any sort of other 'acts' before the actual love making. Which does slightly annoy me because most of these girls are inexperienced, virgin's or have only read about it in a book. So some more foreplay would be great.

But let's see what the rest of Whiskey Run has for us with Violet's book next.

Loved the concept. Both went to high school together, him the jock and her the nerd with a crush. Now he is back in town and she is older but not much wiser! I got frustrated with Sierra constantly bringing up high school and pushing him away. I think Evan did all he could to show her he was all in now. I think it leveled out halfway through the book. I understand why Sierra’s stalker was a great add, I just REALLY wish we could have seen a bit more of him. It felt like it was a pivotal thing that brought them together and then fell flat at the end. I did like this book but liked the previous two in this series more. I will say, I CANNOT wait for Violets story.

OH man, what do you do when your high school crush moves back to town but still has no clue who you are? Well, you are crushed by this, of course. You were the nerd in school while he was the hot jock. He is dealing with his own set of problems from his medical discharge from the Army. When he realizes who you are and would like to date you naturally, you say NOPE, especially since you are a shy person. You work at the library after all. You can not believe he would want to date you seriously. But then you have a serious issue and you need his help. Can spending time with him a lot help you out to see that he really is in this for real? Does he help you out when you need it? Does this lead to a HEA?

Evan is back home with a honorable discharge. He ended up getting vertigo so he returns home to help run the security business with his brother. He's been staying low and keeping to himself but when he goes to the diner he sees someone that he'd really like to meet and finds that he went to high school with her. Sierra had a crush on Evan way back in high school and she finds that it still there. She had sent him care packages weekly for the 4 years he's been gone. When Evan can't remember who she is he hurts her feeling. Now he's on the fast track to fix his mistakes. There is this push and pull going on between them. Plenty of chemistry and lots of steam. Find out who is stalking Sierra. I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
